Chapter 898 - The Tycoons Group Up
[System +5: Upper limit of various items and abilities +1. Various functions such as shops are slightly adjusted.]
It was a simple hint. If not for Su Yang’s ears, he would have thought that he had heard wrongly.
After listening to the system notification, Su Yang only had one thought in his mind. ‘That’s it?
‘Compared to the previous system upgrades, the difference is just too great!’
Su Yang could not help but wonder... ‘Has the system also reached its peak?’
However, it made sense when he thought about it. Even the final Diamond Mission had been released, so perhaps the system, which had guided him all the way, had also gradually reached its end.
At the thought of this, Su Yang had a strange feeling.
After all, for his development, the system had given him very strong guidance. Without the system’s missions to push him, he would not have progressed so quickly and smoothly.
Now that he thought about it, this was a sign that had appeared long ago.
In the beginning, when he was developing, the system would give out missions to urge him to move forward. Under certain circumstances, he could be considered the system’s “puppet”. However, in the later stages, the system would almost stop giving out missions, allowing him to act freely.
This was like a friendly teacher guiding his students to learn how to “learn” in the beginning, but later on, he began to let go and allow his students to learn by themselves.
This kind of earnest teaching was really the definition of a good teacher.
In the past, he had always wanted to crack the system and see what was at the end of it. However, as the day approached, Su Yang felt a little sad.
The feeling he felt was like climbing a mountain on his own. Before climbing to the top, he had been working hard, thinking that there was no end to this mountain. Perhaps he would have to climb it for the rest of his life. However, in the blink of an eye, he realized that he was looking at the top.
He did not climb the mountain to reach the top, but to enjoy the process. Thus, he could not help but feel sentimental.
On the other hand, the system did not update too much of its latest content in actual fact. So, the situation that he was encountering in Korea might not be able to be resolved, and it would not be good for Su Yang either.
Letting out a sigh, Su Yang dispelled his worries of what he was supposed to do. Then, he turned on the system to see what kind of minor adjustments the system had made during its latest upgrade.
Opening the system shop, Su Yang saw the original nine slots. However, it was different from before. There were only eight slots with the word “merchandise” on them. In the middle of the grid was the word “Shop”.
However, the slot in the middle now had a product. It was a product that had existed in the past [Ultimate Shop].
‘One product’s location has been shifted?
‘Does this mean a new product has been added?’
With this question in mind, Su Yang looked around the store and realized that there was indeed a new item: Silver Points.
The nine items in the slots of the [Ultimate Shop] after its adjustments were [Random Points], [Bronze Points], [Silver Points], [Guardian Talismans], [Lucky Stones], [Maximum Limit Pearls], [Recipe Items], [Random Vouchers], and [Coins].
There were a total of three rows of items in the nine slots. The first row was [Points], the second row was [Additional Supplementary Items], and the third row was [Precious Items].
From this, it could be seen that the store was arranged in a very orderly fashion.
“Now, I can even buy Silver Points at will,” Su Yang sighed. He felt that he was about to understand the system, which was only normal.
The system only had six points in total: [Random Points], [Bronze Points], [Silver Points], [Gold Points], [Platinum Points], and [Diamond Points].
The Gold Points were used for the system, so there was definitely a limit to how many times it could be upgraded. Hence, it was impossible for Su Yang to buy them casually as he estimated that he would only be able to upgrade one or two more times.
There was only one Platinum Point, which was to promote Platinum Races.
There was also only one Diamond Point, but its use was still unconfirmed.
From the looks of it, only the first three could be used in bulk.
Coupled with the Random Items and Random Vouchers, Su Yang believed that he had unlocked most of the system’s access rights.
Looking at the shop that had changed, Su Yang touched his chin and tapped on his Silver Points.
Silver Points were very expensive, each costing 5,000 coins. That week, there were 10 for sale.
However, Su Yang could be considered to be wealthy, so he bought all of them and planned to upgrade his Silver Abilities later.
After looking through the store, Su Yang took another look at the other functions of the system. Just like what the system had said, the upgrade of the system was just a slight adjustment. Most of the functions were just minor changes.
For example, [Decomposition] and [Fusion] could be used to process many special items, or to fuse many special items and many ability cores.
Other than that, the effects of [Grant] and [Deprive] could also be adjusted slightly. Rather than taking away all of someone’s abilities, Su Yang could partially take them. Furthermore, he could grant them to multiple little monsters.
In other words, there was no need to be like before, where [Eye of Origins] could only be given to Little Deeny or Spirit Building and could not be shared.
Now that he had leveled up, he could split up the ability into several portions and grant them to several little monsters.
Looking at the introduction, Su Yang felt that this function seemed familiar.
He mulled it over carefully and suddenly felt... ‘Isn’t this Race Ability?
‘Giving one’s own power to multiple monsters meant that they would all have the same abilities, which they then could be considered to be of the same race. The only difference was that the abilities of the race are passed down through bloodlines, and this is something that I can decide on my own.
‘Is this actually a way to create a new race of little monsters?’
Su Yang thought about it for a while. He felt that there was a certain mystery behind it, but he could not figure it out in a short period of time.
Su Yang put this matter to the back of his mind for the time being. He felt that it was rare for him to add some points to the system. Furthermore, he had gained a huge weapon called [Silver Points]. Hence, he did not think about these troublesome matters. Instead, he counted the Silver Points that he had obtained and happily decided to upgrade his Silver Ability.
Previously, he had too few Silver Points, and it was not even enough for him to increase his new abilities. He did not have any extra points to add to his Silver ability. This also caused the level of his Silver Abilities to be low generally.
Now that he had a stable channel to obtain Silver Points, Su Yang felt that he had to improve his abilities...
Just as Su Yang was studying the new system at home and was adding points to his Silver Abilities...
A few other people were holding a meeting in Korea as well.
Those who could attend this meeting were no ordinary people. The person leading the meeting was the current head of Samsung, the prince, Lee Jaerong. The younger brother of the Jeong brothers from Hyundai, Young Master Goo of LG, Young Master Shim of Letian, and Vice President Choi of SK.
These people might not be famous in other countries, but in Korea, they were all big shots who could crush the sky with a stomp. Even in the international capital market, they were all big shots.
Because they were the real rulers of Korea: the five consortiums.
These five consortiums were all native to Korea. At the beginning of their development, they all relied on Korea to develop. In the middle, they relied on the capital of the magnesium country and continued to develop. Later on, they directly tied up the national economy and made their own corporation become a terrifying force that could not be expanded.
Every single one of these consortiums could occupy 10% to 20% of GDP from Korea. Together, they could overturn the entire Korea.
Unexpectedly, this time, they gathered together for a meeting.
The meeting was held in the conference room of a hotel owned by Samsung. Due to the special nature of that day’s meeting, the room had been rearranged. The square table had been replaced with a round table so that no one could tell who was in power.
A few of the leaders of the consortiums took their seats. Lee Jaerong coughed and said, “I’ve called everyone here today because I had a chat with Mr. Choi and felt that there were some things that I should inform all of you about beforehand.”
They looked at Lee Jaerong, who said, “Su Yang, the financial magnate, came to Korea not long ago, which I believe everyone knows about it.”
The old foxes only looked at him silently.
Lee Jaerong did not take it to heart and continued, “Based on my intelligence, he hasn’t come here with good intentions. Instead, he’s probably here with the same goal as he had when he was in Japan.
“However, he’s clearly underestimated our strengths. At first, he wanted to target me, but then he started to attack Hyundai, but we forced him to retreat.”
Almost everyone knew about this matter actually.
After all, the battle between Samsung, Hyundai, and Jiadian had a huge impact. Even if it was just a partial test, it had a far-reaching impact. Therefore, everyone had to pay attention to it.
Lee Jaerong took a sip of water from the table, and a smile appeared on his handsome face. “Perhaps Su Yang misjudged our capabilities, so he gave up on his mission in Korea and has returned to China temporarily.
“However, only he himself has returned, while all his subordinates are still here. This is a signal that he has no intention of surrendering. Instead, he is preparing to make a comeback.
“Therefore, after some discussion with Mr. Choi, we decided that the best defense is to go on the offensive. Since he dared to challenge us, why don’t we fight back?
“We’re not worse than him, are we?”
Hearing Lee Jaerong’s statement, the eldest son of the Goos, who owned LG, spoke up, “Lee Jaerong, we haven’t got anything to do with whatever’s going on between you and Jiadian, have we?”
There was a flash of coldness in Lee Jaerong’s eyes, but it disappeared quickly. However, he did not say anything. Instead, he turned to look at his brother.
Hyundai Group had been founded a long time ago. Plus, the old man had many children, so after his death, Hyundai Group’s shares started to disperse. When the fourth generation of the Chui brothers took over, some of his relatives started to fight for power, and some of his uncles even used their identities to suppress others.
The situation within the Goos was similar to that of Samsung. The old president’s health wasn’t good, and his eldest son had already begun to take over the entire corporation. Therefore, even though he wasn’t the president, his status was on the same level as Lee Jaerong, so he was not very polite.
The Choi brothers were the fourth-generation heirs of Hyundai. They were young and had taken over the company a few years ago. However, compared to Samsung and LG, their situation was not as good.
They had been trying to sort it out for many years, but they still could not figure it out.
Internal strife led to the decline of Hyundai ‘s power, which was eventually overtaken by Samsung.
The Choi brothers were ambitious people who wanted to restore the glory of their ancestors, surpass Samsung, and return to the No. 1 throne.
However, before they could do anything, they were attacked by Su Yang.
Furthermore, Su Yang’s attack was an open and aboveboard scheme. He relied on the new generation of technology to crush the shareholders’ confidence in the company and take the opportunity to suppress the share price.
Therefore, even though they had mobilized the company to protect the share price, they still had a headache.
After all, they were the ones who suffered the most.
In fact, they were also the ones who contacted Lee Jaerong with the hopes that they could have a meeting amongst the tycoons to gang up and retaliate against Su Yang.
