Chapter 667: Showdown with the Clown Sea Serpent
Su Yang had Janet use his [I Am The Dragon King] ability that he obtained after achieving +4.
Janet was in the sea, hence the amount of moisture he could get was almost limitless. So, he could very well enshroud the entire Socot Island in fog, preventing anyone from spying remotely, Plus, he also removed the possibility that another person would be able to board the island.
After all, Su Yang’s opponent was an arms company and it was very likely that they would have large-scale military weapons and equipment.
Hence, Su Yang had to be more careful.
The next day, Wei Lin, who had the potential to be a trader, successfully emerged victorious from his competition in the [Burning Reincarnation Circus].
His competition at the time was to carry gunny sacks, where the winner would be the one who carried the most gunny sacks.
Of course, similar to the other competitions in the [Burning Reincarnation Circus], this was not the kind of competition where it was just as simple as carrying gunny sacks. Instead, while the contestants were carrying the gunny sacks, they would have to be wary of others ambushing them, or even killing them.
After asking Zhao Licheng and Wei Lin, Su Yang realized that there were two ways to win a competition in the circus. The first was to win the game itself, the second was to kill all their opponents.
However, in order to attack, the contestants had to use items related to the competition. For example, the Clown Sea Serpent had used a chess piece to kill Zhao Licheng. Plus, previously, Wang Shan had been killed using a sword used in the dancing competition. Hence, others would have to ambush Wei Lin using gunny sacks if they wanted to...
Then, Su Yang began imagining the scene of gunny sacks flying around. ‘Wei Lin must’ve gone through a hard time to win this competition.’
Wei Lin’s revival conditions were much lower than Zhao Licheng and the Clown Sea Serpent’s and only needed 1,000 coins, which was almost the same as the revived Little Monster Beans. However, he required more resources than Zhao Licheng and the Clown Sea Serpent did, which was 140 pounds of raw meat, 28 pounds of bones, and a bee.
Therefore, when Wei Lin came out in the end, he had a pair of thin wings, but the wings were so small that they could not be seen under his clothes.
Wei Lin’s emergence signified Su Yang and Zhao Licheng’s plans for Xinli Education could not be set in motion. Hence, Su Yang immediately used the [Bronze Ability Enhancement Voucher] on Wei Lin.
The effect of this Prize Voucher was to give the monsters an ability that was compatible with them.
The reason why Su Yang revived Wei Lin was because he coveted his potential in stock trading and finance.
Therefore, Su Yang brought Wei Lin to the castle, took out the [Bronze Ability Enhancement Voucher] and tore it open without hesitation.
As the vouchers were torn apart, everything in front of Su Yang’s eyes turned gray. There were a few monsters in the room, hence Janet, Wei Lin and Little Hus had a light sign above their heads, which indicated that they could be chosen.
Janet was with Su Yang while Little Hus was beside Janet. Hence, Su Yang ignored them and chose Wei Lin instead.
As he made his decision, a notification popped up in front of him.
[Are you sure you want to use the Bronze Ability Enhancement Voucher on this little monster?]
[Yes].
[Please choose the type of ability you wish to obtain or a specific ability.]
Note: The ability to choose and the degree of compatibility with the little monster will affect the success rate of the enhancement.
Su Yang said without any hesitation, “An ability related to stock trading.”
This time, after three seconds, Su Yang received another notification.
[Enhancement success rate: 100%. Confirm?]
‘100%?’
Su Yang was stunned!
‘This is even higher than Sanque’s!
‘Plus, it’s directly a perfect score!
‘Would all “super strong” potential be this high?’ Su Yang was a little surprised.
Even though Su Yang was shocked, he did not forget to click [Confirm].
The moment he clicked [Confirm], the shattered [Bronze Ability Enhancement] in his hand exploded into specks of starlight and floated to Wei Lin.
As the starlight dimmed, Wei Lin closed his eyes and quietly absorbed the starlight.
Five minutes later, Su Yang received a notification.
[Ding, Bronze Ability Successfully Enhanced.]
Su Yang took a glance at Wei Lin, whose eyes were still closed as if he was still absorbing the energy. Therefore, Su Yang did not disturb him. Instead, he opened Wei Lin’s character panel and looked at his new ability.
[Bronze Ability: Beginner Stock Trading Ability]
Su Yang was confused.
‘That’s it?
‘Is this what I want?
‘Moreover, [Stock Trading Ability] has too big of a range, doesn’t it?
‘In fact, the so-called stock trading consists of a major part of finance, including many kinds of derivatives such as stocks, bonds, futures, options, interest rates and so on.
‘So, stock trading includes almost all the common transactions known in the market.
‘Now that Wei Lin has this ability, it’s equivalent to him having a solid foundation for all financial transactions!
‘So... The future is limitless!’
As Su Yang pondered, Wei Lin slowly opened his eyes. Su Yang quickly asked, “How do you feel?”
Wei Lin scratched his head honestly. “Okay... I guess. There seems to be a lot of things in my head and I’ve learned all of them already.”
Actually, Su Yang did not know much about stocks, so he summoned Little Deeny to test Wei Lin, to which Wei Lin answered everything successfully.
Su Yang was relieved.
Hence, he assigned a mission to Wei Lin. With the help of Little Deeny’s doppelganger, he had to focus on learning the rules of stock trading, including all sorts of techniques.
After that, he would give Wei Lin a sum of money and send him to Hong Kong to train so that Su Yang could assess how good Wei Lin was.
Furthermore, Su Yang promised that he would cover all of Wei Lin’s mother’s medical expenses during Wei Lin’s studies. If Wei Lin could complete his mission, Su Yang would even send a doctor to treat his mother.
As long as Wei Lin worked hard for him, he would give Wei Lin a generous salary so that he and his mother could live a carefree life.
Su Yang’s conditions were extremely generous. In fact, those very conditions which had been meaningless to Zhao Licheng were as precious as Wei Lin’s life himself!
What Wei Lin lacked was money... Money to treat illnesses, money to eat and money to live a good life. Hence, Wei Lin was satisfied if Su Yang could give him money!
Therefore, this diligent young man was completely subdued by Su Yang after only having met him twice.
After asking Wei Lin to start studying, Su Yang got Spirit Building to bring the Clown Sea Serpent out of the dungeon. Then, he met the latter personally and planned to have a showdown with the Clown Sea Serpent.
Back on Socot Island, Su Yang had already figured out many things, about why he was so scared of the Clown Sea Serpent when he was his creator. Plus, Su Yang had countless other little monsters and his very own superpowers, so the Clown Sea Serpent was not someone whom Su Yang could not live without.
To him, the Clown Sea Serpent was just an addition to his roster of little monsters.
On the contrary, he was the Clown Sea Serpent’s one and only master. Hence, without him, the Clown Sea Serpent would definitely die.
Therefore, Su Yang did not need to think too much.
If he really felt that controlling the Clown Sea Serpent was too tiring, he did not have to fret over it, nor did he have to be dubious of him. This was because Su Yang did not need the Clown Sea Serpent to be his close subordinate and could very well kill him and forget about the matter completely.
However, if the Clown Sea Serpent was willing to obey him and become someone that he could trust, then Su Yang would not need to worry about the Clown Sea Serpent’s personality and could just treat him as a little monster with a more unique personality.
It was the same as how Little Hus would always address him as “Su Yang” and how Sanque always ignored him.
So, isn’t Su Yang treating them... Well enough?
The same went for the Clown Sea Serpent.
As long as the Clown Sea Serpent did not betray him, that was enough. As for the Clown Sea Serpent’s personality, it was just a small problem for Su Yang.
After figuring this out, Su Yang started to gather all the clues. He felt that even though his personality was not strong enough, he was not an indecisive person.
He suspected that the reason he was so worried was probably because the Clown Sea Serpent was deliberately guiding him.
Hence, he thought about everything that had happened between him and the Clown Sea Serpent.
Each time, the Clown Sea Serpent would pretend to be mysterious, as if he was omniscient and omnipotent.
In fact, the others had also proven that the Clown Sea Serpent was omniscient and omnipotent by watching from the side.
This made Su Yang’s repeatedly have an impression of the Clown Sea Serpent over and over again, forming a fixed impression of the Clown Sea Serpent.
Therefore, Su Yang had reason to believe that he had unknowingly been led by the Clown Sea Serpent to the point that Su Yang himself had ended up demonizing him.
After he resurrected the Clown Sea Serpent, the Clown Sea Serpent had always been very obedient to him.
He wanted to use this contrast to deepen his image.
However, after excluding the “delusion” that he had toward him, all the Clown Sea Serpents had done since they had been resurrected was to show his goodwill and obedience.
When Su Yang looked at it this way, he found that he was actually being led by the Clown Sea Serpent to make an enemy out of himself, the weak and unconfident Su Yang.
This was all part of the Clown Sea Serpent’s plan.
As for the reason for his actions, Su Yang had already guessed it when he went to the circus to verify it. That was why he and the Clown Sea Serpent were going to have a showdown that day.
Shortly after, Janet brought the Clown Sea Serpent to Su Yang.
He was still looking sloppy with his curly hair that reached his neck, his dirty face and a faint smile. If Su Yang did not know his background, he would definitely think that he was a harmless homeless person.
When he saw Su Yang sizing him up calmly, the Clown Sea Serpent’s eyes lit up. After a while, he said obediently, “Master, I really didn’t expect you to notice it so quickly.”
Su Yang waved at Spirit Building, who was yawning with his hands behind his back. “You may head back first.”
Spirit Building, that heartless old woman, actually hesitated for the first time and did not move. Clearly, she thought that the Clown Sea Serpent was dangerous and was afraid that he would hurt Su Yang.
However, Su Yang waved his hand again and reassured her. “It’s fine. I know what I’m doing.”
Hence, Spirit Building coughed twice, turned around and slowly walked back.
After she left, Su Yang sat on the chair and looked at the Clown Sea Serpent standing not far away from him. “Do you think this game is fun, Clown Sea Serpent?”
A harmless smile appeared on the Clown Sea Serpent’s face. “Of course it’s fun. If not for this game, how would you have discovered your own weakness, Master?”
Su Yang nodded expressionlessly, “Then, do you think I should reward you?”
the Clown Sea Serpent smiled obediently. “Yes.”
Su Yang looked straight into his eyes. “Then, what if I say that my reward for you is to have you killed?”
