Su Yang replied, “Of course there are sharks in there. Didn’t I already tell you?”
“I’ve always prided myself as a man of my word, I’ve never lied.”
Chu Xia looked at Su Yang skeptically. “Really?”
Su Yang looked into her eyes sincerely. “Really. Even if I were to lie to others, I wouldn’t lie to you.” Su Yang was touched by his own words.
Chu Xia looked at Su Yang’s lower body. “You told me that your leg was broken last Thursday.”
Su Yang was speechless
Chu Xia looked up at him, her face filled with even more skepticism. “Plus, you’ve already broken both your legs last semester.”
Su Yang was even speechless at that moment.
‘Why does my face hurt so much all of a sudden?’
Su Yang coughed and held Chu Xia’s hand. “Come on, let me show you the sharks.”
Chu Xia gave Su Yang a smug smile, she felt that she had won.
However, Chu Xia was still feeling scared when Su Yang pulled her to the fish tank and she retracted her hand. “Erm... Why don’t we... Forget about it? They seem a little scary.”
Su Yang replied, “They’re not scary! In fact, they’re very cute!”
Then, Su Yang personally gave Chu Xia a performance of how obedient his sharks are.
The 3 sharks were completely under his command. One moment, they formed the word “Y” and the next moment, they formed the word “I”. In the end, they even started to spin around in circles together. All in all, they were behaving very cute and cuddly.
Chu Xia’s eyes lit up as she watched the ferocious beasts performing various acrobatics under Su Yang’s command.
Initially, she was afraid of these sharks, but not long after, she was attracted by them. Under Su Yang’s guidance, she started to pet the sharks cautiously and interacted with them.
Truth be told, even though she had already seen Su Yang play with sharks, Chu Xia was still frightened when she came into actual contact with one of them. After all, these were one-meter-long sharks. Furthermore, it was a species of shark that could eat people with a single look instead of the ones that could be seen in an aquarium.
Moreover, the sharks in the aquarium were also dangerous, they’d be able to cause serious harm if they bite someone...
That was why when Su Yang held her hand and placed it into the fish tank, her heart raced faster and faster...
Her eyes were shut tightly into a slit as her beautiful eyebrows were knitted together and her lips were pursed into a straight line. Furthermore, her pretty face was filled with resistance and her hand, which was held by Su Yang, was covered in sweat despite it being the summer season.
From the corner of her eye, she peeked at her hand that was slowly moving downwards.
Finally, just as her hand was about to reach the fish tank, she felt a chill run down her spine. She screamed like she had been electrocuted and wanted to retract her finger!
However, at that moment, Su Yang placed his hand on her shoulder and firmly grabbed onto her like his hands were made of steel as he extended her hand into the fish tank. However, his voice was as soft as butter and as sweet as sugar. “Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
That voice was both magnetic and magical as it made Chu Xia, who was afraid, feel at ease. She looked up at Su Yang to find that he was very close to her, his chin was almost touching her cheek.
As the sunlight shone on him, it highlighted his chiseled jaw and cheeks.
‘He looks really... handsome.’
Chu Xia was unknowingly mesmerized by the view.
When she came back to her senses, she realized that her hand was slippery. Then, she looked down and was shocked to see a meter-long shark was rubbing against her palm.
However, perhaps it was because Su Yang was there, or perhaps because she was already touching the shark, her tensed heart slowly relaxed. Even though her heart was still racing, her temperature did return to her hand. She touched the shark’s head which felt cold and slippery.
Su Yang looked at her and smiled. “Don’t you think it’s fun?”
Chu Xia looked up at him and smiled. “Yes. It’s very fun.” Chu Xia’s heart was still thumping because of the shock she had just received, causing her eyes to be covered with a layer of mist and she looked very dazed.
Even though her hand was playing with the shark, her gaze was fixed on Su Yang. ‘When Su Yang protected me just now, I felt so safe and secure...
‘Could this be... love?’
After that, Chu Xia spent the whole day playing in Su Yang’s villa. Su Yang even cooked a meal for her using the [Grass-Eating Iron Pot], but he lied to her and told her that he cooked it himself so she had to thank him 10 times before she could eat.
However, Chu Xia mercilessly exposed Su Yang’s lies and even mocked him for being shameless enough for using another chef’s cooking to deceive her.
The two of them fooled around for the whole day. Before Chu Xia left, she gave Su Yang his present which was a small blue package. The package was made of yarn. Looking at the exposed ends of the yarn, it looked like Chu Xia had made it herself.
And inside... there was a packet of quicklime...
Chu Xia’s face was red when she handed the package to Su Yang. She coughed and lowered her head as she said, “First... Promise me that you won’t laugh.”
Su Yang was holding the blue... yarn bag in his hand with a confused look on his face. However, he still said, “Alright, I won’t laugh.”
Chu Xia lowered her head, her neck even turned pink from embarrassment. “I actually wanted to knit you a pair of gloves so that you can keep warm.”
Su Yang was startled.
He looked at the... package in his hand. “Gloves?”
Chu Xia lowered her head and nodded slightly. “Yes.”
Su Yang chuckled. “Isn’t it a little early? After all, it’s still summer at the moment.”
Chu Xia looked up and wrinkled her nose as she glared at him. She said in a coquettishly fierce tone, “I’ve never done handicraft before! So I’m just preparing in advance!”
Su Yang raised his hand. “Alright, alright, I’m sorry. You were saying?”
Chu Xia glanced at the package in Su Yang’s hands and lowered her head in embarrassment. “After that... I really couldn’t get it done properly, so I sewed the gloves into a package.”
Su Yang looked at the package. ‘Hmm... There does seem to be a “finger” on it. It looks quite scary.’
Chu Xia whispered, “At the time, I thought you were still living in the basement. The weather in Shanghai is rather humid, so the temperature in the basement would be especially high. If you stay there for too long, you’d be prone to have problems with your joints. So... I bought a few bags of quicklime and sewed them inside. That way, you can keep them in the house and make the air much drier.”
Su Yang was speechless.
At that moment, Su Yang felt as though his heart had been touched. He looked at the girl whose head was lowered as she faced him, there was a little humbleness and shyness in her face, as though she did not know what Su Yang was thinking. The only thing that did not change was the feeling she had towards him.
His heart suddenly felt warm.
Su Yang smiled and tightened his grip on the bag. Then, he lifted Chu Xia’s head with a serious expression on his face and said, “Thank you. I really like this gift.”
Chu Xia’s eyes, which had been lifted, shone with apprehension. “Y-you... You really like it?”
Su Yang lowered his head and looked into her eyes. He nodded sincerely. “Yes.”
Chu Xia looked a little overwhelmed. “But... you don’t live in the basement anymore. So you won’t be able to use it since your house is no longer humid.”
Su Yang shook his head. “Of course I can use it. I’ll bring it with me when I shower, it’s so humid in the bathroom.”
Chu Xia was speechless.
‘Why does it feel weird somehow?
‘But, I just can’t put my finger on where the weird factor is...’
Su Yang looked at Chu Xia and said with a serious tone, “I am curious about something though.”
Chu Xia asked, “What is it?”
Su Yang smiled, and his tone became lighter. “Why didn’t you knit a scarf in the first place? Gloves are so complicated, plus you’re stupid as well.”
Chu Xia looked at Su Yang in a daze. She had yet to recover from the heartwarming atmosphere a moment ago, hence she was not able to react when she was suddenly teased by Su Yang.
When she regained her senses, she gritted her teeth in anger. “Su Yang! I’m going to beat the sh*t out of you! You’re the stupid one! Give me back my gift!”
“No!”
“Give it back!”
“No.”
“Don’t you dare run away!”
“That’s exactly what I’m going to do. Hahaha!”
The villa was filled with the sounds of their laughter and a youthful atmosphere...
After the two of them were done bickering, Su Yang sent Chu Xia back to school. Naturally, the mode of transportation was... walking.
Along the way, due to the commotion caused by Su Yang and Fatty Lu in the morning, many people turned their heads. Some familiar faces even greeted Su Yang and Chu Xia.
After sending Chu Xia to the female dormitory, Su Yang chatted with her for a while before leaving.
When Su Yang arrived at an empty corner, he used his [Unknown Sticky Note] to create an electric bike. He then got on the bike and returned to the villa area leisurely.
This time, the students who saw him riding on his electric bike merely smiled and thought that it was Su Yang’s hobby. They no longer doubted Su Yang’s wealth or connections.
When they returned to the villa, Pan Zhaodi had already left after tidying up the living room. Su Yang gave her a set of keys and the access card to the villa. That way, it would be easier for her to move in and out of the villa area in the future.
After closing the villa’s main gates, Su Yang went to his room on the second floor. He took out Little Deeny and entered the virtual space.
After fooling around for a day, it was time to get down to business.
His mission for that night was very important. Other than adding points to the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass], he also had to give Sanque the [Bronze Ability Enhancement Voucher].
The [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass] had always been one of his most important items. Hence, Su Yang was curious about the changes that would happen after adding a point onto it.
The [Bronze Ability Enhancement Voucher] that was given to San Que was very much related to Su Yang’s Gold and Silver missions, so there was no way he could ignore it.
However, Sanque had not returned home yet, so Su Yang would naturally add a point on the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass] first.
When he arrived at the study room of the villa, Su Yang opened his safe and took out the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass] from the bottommost compartment.
The [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass] was actually a very impressive item, not only because of its amazing effects, but it was also because when the first point was added onto it, it only underwent a change in material. Therefore, the first point that was added could be said to be completely useless. However, the second time it was added a point, it received 2 awesome abilities in 1 go.
Therefore, Su Yang was looking forward to having a third point added onto the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass].
After Su Yang took out the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass] and locked the safe, he took it along with the [Small Bench That Refuses To Eat Melons] and went downstairs to the front yard.
After Janet’s +3 transformation, the hole in the front yard had been repaired by the Little Monster Beans and there were no traces from the impact anymore.
Su Yang arrived at the empty space and opened the system shop.
There were 4 slots in the system store, the last 2 slots had turned into [Empty]. The fourth slot had a countdown with more than 100 hours left.
As for the first 2 slots, there was only 1 [Random Point] and 4 [Guardian Talisman] left. Su Yang bought the last [Random Point] and 2 [Guardian Talisman].
After buying it, he closed the system shop and pasted both [Guardian Talisman] on the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass].
After the first [Guardian Talisman] was pasted on, a layer of red light slowly appeared around the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass]. After the second [Guardian Talisman] was pasted on it, the red light slowly turned into orange light, reflecting the golden light of the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass].
When all the [Guardian Talisman] disappeared, Su Yang turned on the system. Instantly, a semi-transparent [+] appeared on all the objects that could be added.
Su Yang tapped on the [+] above the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglas].
As he clicked on [+], a notification popped up in front of him.
[Are you sure you want to add a third point? The failure rate of adding a third point will greatly increase. If you fail, the item will be completely damaged.]
Su Yang, who had succeeded a few times before, ignored the hint. He placed the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass] on the ground and slowly walked to another corner of the courtyard with the [Small Bench That Refuses To Eat Melons].
Then, he sat down on the [Small Bench That Refuses To Eat melons]. Immediately, popcorn, watermelons, Fat Nerd Merry Drink and other items appeared before him.
Su Yang picked up the popcorn, grabbed a piece and threw it into his mouth. Then, he casually clicked on [Yes].
After clicking it, the orange light on the hourglass exploded. With an explosion, dust flew into the air and waves of air surged!
Accompanied by the explosion, the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass] that was lying on the ground started to glow with a bright orange light. The orange light seemed to have a life of its own as it rose into the air and stopped.
After that, orange ribbons of light appeared from the hourglass. They wrapped itself around the hourglass layer by layer before turning into a cocoon of light.
A countdown also appeared on the cocoon, [59: 59]...
Su Yang threw another piece of popcorn into his mouth. ‘Time to wait.’
After eating the popcorn for a while, Su Yang felt a little bored. He picked up his coke and took two sips, but he didn’t really like it, so he thought of having a Mirinda apple-flavored beverage instead.
A moment later, an Mirinda apple-flavored drink actually appeared before him.
‘I see... So it does work.
‘Previously, I thought that the ability of the [Small Bench That Refuses To Eat Melons] was only limited to Fat Nerd Merry Drink, but that was meant to be a carbonated beverage and isn’t limited to coke, so I should have a choice.
‘After all, I’m able to choose the flavour of melon seeds, so it should be normal to be able to choose the type of drink that I want.
‘Now that I look at it, it is possible.’
Su Yang took a sip of the drink and was about to take a second sip when the phone rang in the courtyard. Little Deeny’s voice rang beside Su Yang’s ear. “Master, it’s Tang Jing.”
‘Tang Jing?’
Su Yang could not help but recall Tang Jing’s strange behavior that morning. ‘Is it possible that... something’s happened to her? Could she be asking me for help?’
At that thought, Su Yang said to Little Deenyi, “Little Deeny, pick it up.”
Su Yang picked up the phone and heard a coquettish voice. “Su Yang! Su Yang! Hurry up and save me and mommy!”
‘Tang Xiaomi?’
Su Yang was shocked. Then, [Heaven’s Eyes] activated and an image appeared before him.
In the video, Tang Xiaomi was hiding in a dark room with her phone. She was cautiously calling Su Yang with dried tears on her face.
