Chapter 852 - Xue Ya’s Last Act Of Gentleness
Xue Ya said, “You could go and be back as soon as you can. I’ll be fine alone. I’ll go on to take a shower and sleep. Then, I’ll be able to have the oranges when I wake up.”
Qu Xuan looked at Xue Ya and thought for a while. He did not really want to agree to her request, but he had no other choice. After all, it was rare for boys to be able to resist a girl’s charms, so he could only agree in the end.
After Qu Xuan left, Xue Ya took out her phone and made a call...
After a while, the call went through. It was the voice of a middle-aged man with a slightly hoarse voice. “Hello, Miss Xue Ya?”
“Mr. Sun, what’s the status of the matter I entrusted you with?”
The person who was addressed as Mr. Sun said, “It’s done. Once you sign it, the beneficiary of your insurance will become Mr. Qu Xuan.”
Mr. Sun paused. “But... What is your relationship with this person? Why are you changing your insurance beneficiary to be him?”
Xue Ya said without hesitation, “He’s my lover.”
It was Mr. Sun’s turn to be stunned.
Because he had to change the beneficiary of Xue Ya’s insurance, he knew some information about her. ‘If I’m not mistaken, Xue Ya is only 18 this year, isn’t she?
‘The lover of an 18-year-old...
‘Isn’t that just puppy love?’
At the thought of this, Mr. Sun could not help but say, “Miss Xue Ya, have you discussed this matter with your family before? After all, they are the guarantors. There are some things that we need to discuss with them.”
Xue Ya said, “I’m already 18 years old. With the ability to conduct civil affairs, I can be responsible for what I do.”
Mr. Sun frowned on the other end of the phone. He wanted to persuade her again, but he did not know what to say.
‘She’s indeed correct. An adult at the age of eighteen could bear the consequences of anything.
‘But in China, the law may be the law, but reality still stands true. How many 18-year-olds are actually “completely civil?”
‘Wouldn’t they still be relying on their family members?
‘Therefore, when working with children of this age, most companies would still seek the approval of parents or schools.’
Just as he was thinking that, Xue Ya added, “Mr. Sun, my parents are divorced, and I live with my grandmother.”
After Xue Ya said that, Mr. Sun roughly understood Xue Ya’s situation. He said “sorry” sympathetically, but he still tried to persuade her. “Miss Xue Ya, actually, I shouldn’t be involving myself in these matters, but I still want to say that you’re still young and have a long way to go in the future.
“At your age, it’s very likely that you’ll meet some... Well... Boisterous love, or someone who you’ll want to spend your entire life with.
“However, that might just be a passerby in your life. In the future, you might experience more passionate romances and meet more people. Those people that you can’t bear to part with might be forgotten by you sometime in the future.
“Therefore, when it comes to important matters like this, you have to think twice before acting.”
Hearing the concern from this stranger, Xue Ya’s heart was filled with bitterness.
‘I have a long way to go...?
‘You’re wrong, these few days might be my last.
‘I might meet more passionate romances and meet more people?
‘If I were a normal 18-year-old girl, that might be true. However, after the past half a year, there is only one person in my heart.
‘So, I want my death to be more meaningful for him.’
At that thought, Xue Ya said, “Mr. Sun, thank you. I’ve thought about it carefully.”
Hearing Xue Ya’s words, Mr. Sun did not try to persuade her anymore. He said, “Alright then. Come to our branch company and sign your name, take a photo to leave evidence and you’re all set.”
“Thank you, Mr. Sun.”
At the last moment of her life, feeling the warmth of a stranger, Xue Ya felt much better...
When he received Qu Xuan’s call, Su Yang had just finished adding a point. He was studying the new function of the circus in front of the circus, changing the scenery and name of the circus, and having a lot of fun while he was at it. He felt that he was playing a construction game...
When he heard that Qu Xuan called, Su Yang changed the name of the [Actor] and picked up the call.
The moment he picked up the phone, Qu Xuan’s panicked voice came through. “Su Yang! Xue Ya... Xue Ya is missing!”
‘When this guy gets anxious, he stops calling me “President”.’
Su Yang was stunned for a moment and stopped what he was doing. “Missing? Weren’t you always with her?”
Qu Xuan said in a panic, “She said she wanted to eat oranges and asked me to buy them. Then, she disappeared when I came back.”
Su Yang’s expression turned even weirder. “Why didn’t you ask Sister Zhaodi to buy it instead? She goes out for a run everyday, so why would you want to go alone?”
Qu Xuan gulped and moistened his dry throat before explaining, “It was Xiaoya who insisted that I go. She said that it would only be sincere if I buy it for her.”
Su Yang was speechless.
Su Yang guessed the whole story in an instant. “She sent you away on purpose, didn’t she?”
Quenthel hesitated for two seconds. “I suppose so... Anyway, she disappeared when I got back.”
Qu Xuan was so anxious that he could not speak coherently. “Where did she go? Is she looking for a quiet place to die? She said that she did not want to die in your villa and made it depreciate. Could that really be what happened?”
Su Yang said, “Calm down. Go see if Sister Zhaodi is around and if she went out with Xue Ya. I’ll give her a call too.”
“Okay!” Qu Xuan agreed and quickly hung up the phone to look for Pan Zhaodi.
Su Yang shook his head. ‘Qu Xuan is really scared out of his wits. Xue Ya has only disappeared for a moment and he’s already so flustered. He hasn’t got any courage at all right now.
‘The villa area isn’t a place that one can enter freely, so Xue Ya wouldn’t have left on her own accord.’
Su Yang called Pan Zhaodi.
Shortly after, the call went through. Su Yang asked Pan Zhaodi where she was, and she said that she was with Xue Ya at the insurance company.
Su Yang was stunned when he heard about the insurance company.
‘The insurance company?
‘Is Xue Ya buying insurance?
‘Does she not know that someone in her condition won’t be able to buy it?’
Su Yang curiously asked about the situation before finding out the whole story from Pan Zhaodi.
It turned out that five or six years ago, when Xue Ya’s parents divorced, they had a sum of money with them, but they did not want to give it to the other party, so they bought Xue Ya some insurance.
With medical care, life expectancy, and risk insurance, it could be said that Xue Ya could grow healthily in the future. Because these insurance had the clause of money management, the money was given to Xue Ya.
Unfortunately, at the time, his parents were mainly concerned about preserving their capital, so most of the insurance that they bought was insurance that would be returned to the capital when the time came (with medical and life insurance clauses), so there was no serious risk.
This caused Xue Ya to fall seriously ill, and the insurance did not work.
However, even though the insurance did not work when she was seriously ill, it could still take effect when she died, and she could pay a sum of money for it. Therefore, Xue Ya had come to the insurance company to change the beneficiary.
Earlier, Qu Xuan and Guo Xiaoying had borrowed a lot of money to treat Xue Ya’s illness. Although their parents had given them the money, Qu Xuan and Guo Xiaoying still wrote an IOU to their parents, saying that they would definitely return them the money.
Even though their parents would not ask them for the money, Xue Ya did not want the two families to take responsibility for her illness. Therefore, she came to change the beneficiary. She hoped that after she died, Qu Xuan could use the money to pay back the money that he and Guo Xiaoying owed their parents.
Su Yang teared up when he heard what Pan Zhaodi said.
‘Xue Ya really is a good girl. Previously, when she learned of her terminal illness, she cut off her relationship with Qu Xuan. She did not want to affect Qu Xuan and did not tell her family about it so that they were not burdened.
‘Even though she’s about to die, she’s still thinking about myself, Qu Xuan, and Guo Xiaoying.
‘She doesn’t want to die in my villa, and is even thinking about Qu Xuan and Xiaoying’s situation.
‘All so that she doesn’t cause any trouble for others.
‘This girl is so sensible that my heart aches for her.’
Su Yang could not help but recall the first time he met Xue Ya when they were still freshmen. At that time, she was wearing a pair of glasses and holding a book. She was sitting quietly beside Guo Xiaoying.
Just like what she was doing now: quietly showing up and walking away without taking anything back with her, not leaving anything behind...
Su Yang wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes. He felt that the things that he had been going through during that period of time were exceptionally meaningful.
‘A good girl like herself shouldn’t leave the world so soon.
‘Xue Ya, you’re only 18 years old, and you’re still in your youth. Plus, there’s someone who loves you deeply, and a best friend who’s willing to sacrifice herself for you. If you die, the world will become much more lonely.
‘So... Live on.’
At the thought of this, Su Yang did not say anything else. He did not want to disturb Xue Ya’s final peace and gentleness. Therefore, he instructed Pan Zhaodi to keep an eye on Xue Ya before hanging up the phone.
After hanging up the phone, Su Yang gave Qu Xuan a call. He did not mention anything about insurance. He only said that Xue Ya was with Pan Zhaodi and that they were shopping outside. He told him not to worry.
Qu Xuan, however, was a little angry. He felt that Xue Ya could have gone shopping with him instead, so why did she have to find someone else?
Su Yang smiled and retorted, “Isn’t it normal for girls to shop with their best friends?”
“What do you, a rough old man, know? It’s extremely rare to see such a sensible girl who doesn’t force their man into shopping with her! You really don’t know how lucky you are.”
Qu Xuan had nothing else to say after being rebutted by Su Yang. However, he still mumbled, “Xue Ya didn’t tell me in advance and made me worried.” Or, “When did Xue Ya and Sister Zhaodi become so close?”
Su Yang could not be bothered with him. He hung up the phone and continued to adjust the circus’s appearance, space, and new functions.
After understanding the new function of the circus, Su Yang was very satisfied with the latest point added. At that moment, he believed that Xue Ya could be revived.
At night, in Qu Xuan and Xue Ya’s room, Qu Xuan was trying his best to educate Xue Ya calmly. Xue Ya, who was being educated, was not annoyed. She just looked at Qu Xuan with love on her pale face.
After being lectured by Qu Xuan for a while, while Qu Xuan was drinking water, Xue Ya took the initiative to say, “Xuan, I want to do it one last time with you.”
Qu Xuan was stunned.
“But, your body...”
Xue Ya said, “It’s fine. I can handle it.”
Qu Xuan was speechless.
Qu Xuan suddenly felt a strong sense of unease.
He looked at Xue Ya and asked nervously, “Are you feeling uncomfortable?”
Xue Ya shook her head and said calmly, “No. Ever since I drank Doctor Sanque’s medicine, I no longer feel pain, so I’m not feeling any discomfort.”
Qu Xuan said, “Then you...”
Xue Ya said, “I just want to feel the love from you again.”
Qu Xuan was speechless.
Just as the two of them were chatting, there was a knock on the door.
This broke the awkward atmosphere between them.
Qu Xuan stood up and opened the door. Su Yang and Little Deeny were standing outside.
Su Yang looked at Qu Xuan and then at Xue Ya. He smiled and said, “Although I don’t want to interrupt your fun, I still want to say something. I suggest that you delay your matters for now. After all, you will have plenty of time to do it in the future.”
Hearing Su Yang’s words, Xue Ya’s face turned red. Qu Xuan seemed to have realized something. He grabbed Su Yang’s shoulders excitedly and said, “President! Have you found a way to treat Xue Ya?”
Su Yang nodded calmly.
Upon receiving Su Yang’s confirmation, Qu Xuan’s face was filled with excitement. Xue Ya could not help but blink as her eyes lit up...
After all, who would possibly be willing to die if they had a choice?
Even though Xue Ya had gotten over the thought of dying, she was willing to survive if she could!
After all, she had too many things that she had not done, too many people that she wanted to repay and love!
Su Yang patted Qu Xuan’s hand, indicating for him to let go before walking in.
When they entered the house, Little Deeny closed the door. Su Yang sat down and looked at the couple. “What I’m going to say next is my personal secret. Therefore, I hope that you can swear before me that no matter what kind of situation you’re in, you will not reveal my secret whatsoever.”
Seeing how serious Su Yang was, the two of them knew how important this matter was, so they swore together.
Su Yang nodded when he saw the two of them swearing obediently. Then, he summoned the [Absolute Verbal Contract] and signed it.
This surreal display of his ability stunned both of them.
They looked at each other, wondering if they were watching a movie.
However, it was also because of this that they could accept Su Yang’s explanation.
Su Yang did not talk much about himself. He only said that other than humans, there were actually little monsters in this world. The world of little monsters had many magical items as well.
And it was because Su Yang had obtained a few props that he developed his career.
In order to help Xue Ya, he had searched for a long time in the world of the little monsters and finally found a prop that could save Xue Ya.
The prop could turn a person into a little monster. After turning into a little monster, the body would be reconstructed, and this way, Xue Ya’s illness would disappear completely.
However, there was a drawback to this prop. From then on, Xue Ya would no longer be a human, but a little monster. Hmm... this also meant that Qu Xuan was probably not enough for Xue Ya to fight with one hand.
Hearing Su Yang’s story, Qu Xuan and Xue Ya were shocked.
Little monster? Human? Magical item? Superpower?
Is this really not a movie?
Does this world really have supernatural powers?
