Su Yang and Chu Xia had actually finished eating for quite some time. After they returned their food trays at the receiving area, they walked back to the dormitory whilst chatting.
The reason why Chu Xua needed to return to her dormitory was because she said that she needed to pick up a gift that she prepared for Su Yang before visiting his house.
Chu Xia did not say what she had prepared.
Su Yang subtly tried to find out what gift Chu Xia had prepared for him, but Chu Xia just kept smiling and refused to say anything. Su Yang knew he was not going to find out anything from her and stopped asking, hence he could only accompany her back to her dormitory.
There was still some distance from the female dormitory, and the first thing that caught their attention were the two rows of luxury cars.
Frankly, the 7 luxury cars that were arrogantly parked there were a shocking sight to see.
Even Su Yang, who had been exposed to many things in the world, could not help but exclaim, “Who’s the rich guy? He must be really wealthy to be able to buy so many cars.”
Chu Xia was surprised as well. However, when she heard what Su Yang said, she covered her mouth and giggled. “Shanghai is an international city, so of course there are many rich people lying around. You could buy it as well if you like, couldn’t you?”
Su Yang looked at her and said stubbornly, “I haven’t got that much money or such cars.”
He stared at Chu Xia.
However, Su Yang did not say anything and merely stared at her.
After a while, Su Yang’s gaze made Chu Xia blush. She pouted and said, “Why are you always staring at me?”
Su Yang shook his head and said in disdain, “I already said that I haven’t got the money to buy it, so shouldn’t you say “I’ll buy it for you then”?”
Chu Xia was speechless
‘Brother, you’re really trying to make things extremely difficult for me!
‘That’s a car that’s worth millions of yuan!
Chu Xia rolled her eyes at him. “Stop dreaming, Mr. CEO. I can’t even afford it even if I were to sell myself. I think you’d be better off relying on yourself.”
Su Yang pursed his lips and sized her up. “How do you know that you can’t afford it? Why not... you sell yourself to me and see?”
Chu Xia’s face quietly turned pink. Her fair cheeks were pink and looked extremely cute.
Her mind was a mess, and her mind wandered. ‘Is this a confession?
‘It’s a confession, isn’t it?
‘Since when has this idiot learned how not to be a straight arrow?
‘He’s even learned how to convey such thought subtly...
‘It does feel... A little sweet though.’
After being embarrassed for a while, Chu Xia’s hazy eyes suddenly became clear. She suddenly raised her head and looked at Su Yang and pouted coquettishly. “That’s not right! There’s something wrong with what you just said! You’re asking me to sell myself to you and buy a car with that money!”
“You’re literally asking me to sell myself completely for your own profit!”
“Su Yang! You cunning businessman!”
When Su Yang saw that Chu Xia had reacted, he made a funny face and said, “Little fool, did you just realize what I was up to?” Then, he laughed and ran ahead.
“Su Yang! You!” Chu Xia chased after him with her slender legs. As she chased, she shouted, “Stop running! You *sshole!”
It just so happened that Wang Bei and Luo Luo had witnessed the entire scene.
Just as the two were fooling around, Wang Bei and Luo Luo came up to them.
Su Yang was not aware that they were approaching him since he was unfamiliar with them. Hence, he smiled and continued running to avoid Chu Xia “chasing” after him.
However, Chu Xia reacted differently. When she saw her roommates, naturally she would stop and greet them, “Luo Luo, Bei Bei, where are you going?”
Wang Bei’s eyes flashed in anger when she saw how Chu Xia and Su Yang were messing around, but she kept it to herself. Instead, She smiled and said, “Luo Luo and I are going to a party, obviously.”
She pointed at the luxury cars and said, “Those are the friends I told you about last night.”
Chu Xia looked in the direction of her finger. Then, just as she expected, Chu Xia covered her mouth and widened her eyes. She said in surprise, “So these are your friends’ cars.”
Even though Wang Bei often hung out with rich guys, her vanity was still greatly satisfied. She hid her excitement and deliberately said casually, “That’s right. These people are my friends. As I said yesterday, my friends are all rich guys.”
At that point, she stole a glance at Su Yang who was not too far away and moved closer to Chu Xia. “Chu Xia, why don’t you join us? Don’t they look more capable than...?”
Wang Bei was gesturing at Su Yang as she spoke, hence she could not be any more obvious. Wang Bei thought that those rich guys are much more suitable for Chu Xia than Su Yang, hence she wanted to introduce them to Chu Xia so that Chu Xia would stop solely relying on just 1 person.
Chu Xia looked embarrassed as she whispered softly, “Bei Bei, I’m... seriously allergic to luxury cars.”
Wang Bei was speechless
‘Like h*ll I believe you! You’re definitely been given the love potion by Su Yang, you little lass!’
Wang Bei was furious!
She grabbed Luo Luo and pushed her forward. “Luo Luo, tell her what you think!”
Luo Luo stole a glance at Su Yang and whispered, “I feel that... CEO Su is actutally pretty good.”
Wang Bei was shocked.
‘I’ve had it!
‘Not a single person is normal in my dormitory!
‘Su Yang definitely has some kind of magic drug on him! He’s used it on my dormitory specifically!’
While the three of them were chatting, Su Yang noticed that Chu Xia did not chase after him. He took a few glances at the two girls and realized that they were his classmates...
‘I don’t think I’ve socialized with these 2 girls much.
‘However... While Chu Xia and myself were having breakfast, it seems like both of them had accidentally triggered my [Heaven’s Eyes].’
Su Yang did not pay attention to what the girls were saying since he was chatting with Chu Xia at the time, so he could not be distracted. Therefore, he merely glanced at his visual interface and turned it off when he realized that they were his classmates.
Su Yang had not expected for Chu Xia to go keep on talking non-stop when she saw him, just like a sparrow chirping continuously. Moreover, Su Yang would be unable to keep up with what Chu Xia was saying if he lost focus even for a few seconds.
‘Now that I think about it, these 2 classmates were most likely complimenting me...
‘They’re probably saying how nice I am to have asked Chu Xia out for a date early in the morning and are touched by it...’
Su Yang did not think much of it. He walked over and asked, “What’s the matter? Has something happened?”
When she saw Su Yang, Luo Luo looked a little shy while Wang Bei looked annoyed.
Chu Xia looked at Su Yang and her eyes curved into two crescents. She didn’t talk about the topic that Luo Luo was talking about. Instead, she smiled and said, “The beautiful cars that you mentioned earlier belong to Bei Bei’s friends.”
Although Chu Xia did not agree to her invitation, Wang Bei did feel her vanity being fulfilled when she heard that Su Yang had said her friends’ cars looked nice and added 1 point of good impression towards Su Yang secretly. ‘He’s got rather good taste for a country bumpkin.’
She looked at Su Yang to see what he would say.
As expected, Su Yang smiled and said, “So these are your friends’ cars. How rich. I wouldn’t be able to buy these willingly.”
Wang Bei immediately felt even better. Even Luo Luo, who was standing at the side, blushed a little and felt light-headed.
‘This is Su Yang we’re talking about! An influential figure in the school who started his own business in his first year and also developed several companies.
‘The online movie that he filmed received the best box office domestically, even the company that he developed had been complimented by the country.
‘The fact of the matter is, Su Yang was only in his first year in university! He still had 3 years left to go!
‘Nobody had expected that he would be able to perform such feats in 3 years!
‘To put it bluntly, he’s destined to become a famous alumnus, while Bei Bei and myself would only be a common alumni amongst thousands of others.
‘Therefore, how could Bei Bei and myself not feel happy when such a person has complimented our friends, essentially complementing us in the process?’
Even though Wang Bei looked down on Su Yang in her heart, she still enjoyed the praise.
This made Wang Bei, who had always disliked Su Yang, soften her attitude. She coughed and said, “Since you like these cars, let me tell you.”
Su Yang did not object. Truth be told, he was curious as well since he knew nothing about cars.
When Wang Bei noticed that Su Yang was interested, Wang Bei pointed to the luxury car at the end of the line and began explaining, “Do you see that silver-gray BMW? That’s the only sports car that BMW has, the BMW i8, it costs about 1.8 million yuan.”
Then, she pointed at a blue Porsche. “See that? That’s the Porsche 911 which costs around 1.5 million yuan! It’s a classic Porsche model.”
Su Yang looked in the direction of her finger. ‘That car does look beautiful.’
The more Wang Bei spoke, the more excited she became. She pointed at the Ferrari in the front of the line and said, “Do you see that? It’s a Ferrari! The luxury car amongst all luxury cars. That one’s the Ferrari F8. Although it’s a low spec model, it still costs 3 million yuan!”
“3 million?” Su Yang was shocked. “Is it really that expensive?”
Wang Bei nodded smugly. She raised her chin slightly. “That’s one of my brothers’ cars. We were in the same primary school and he’s a year older than me. We’ve known each other since we were kids.” When she said this, she was as proud as a... squirrel.
Su Yang nodded.
After talking about the other cars, everyone’s eyes fell on the red Ferrari at the end. Chu Xia’s eyes flashed with surprise when she saw the beautiful red car.
Wang Bei saw that everyone was staring at the last car and could not help but feel a little awkward. She said, “That car isn’t one of my friends’ cars, but I happen to know that it is a Ferrari 488.”
“My classmate said that that car is even more expensive. It’s 1 of the 2 most expensive cars in Ferrari. I also heard that that car is a high spec model which costs about 5 to 6 million yuan.”
“5 to 6 million yuan!” Su Yang was really shocked this time. “It’s worth that much?!”
‘No wonder Mr. Shen was willing to take this car as collateral.
‘When I first showed this car’s documents to Mr. Shen, he immediately agreed without even asking how much it was.
‘At the time, I thought that he was being such a fool, but never did I expect to be the fool instead...’
That’s right... that car belonged to Su Yang. It was the Ferrari that Su Yang left at Tang Jing’s house for a month and had just been driven out by Pan Zhaodi...
On the way back to the dormitory, Su Yang received a call from Pan Zhaodi saying that she had already retrieved the car, but she did not have Su Yang’s house keys, hence she could not help Su Yang park the car. Then, she asked Su Yang where he was.
Initially, Su Yang wanted her to drive the car back to the villa area. However, on second thought, he realized that the villa area only allowed people to drive in using an access card or the owner had to make a call for them to enter.
However, Su Yang was not able to request for the guards to let her in since he was not at home.
After much consideration, Su Yang decided to let Pan Zhaodi send the car to school. He could take Chu Xia for a spin in the meantime.
Since Su Yang and Chu Xia were on their way to the dormitory, Su Yang told Pan Zhaodi to drive to the female dormitory first.
When Wang Bei saw how surprised Su Yang was, she looked down on him even more.
‘Just as I expected, a farmer will forever be a farmer. No matter how much money he earns, he definitely can’t get rid of the stinginess built within his character.
‘From the way I see it, Su Yang is actually earning a lot of money. Therefore, buying a car that cost a few million yuan might be a lifetime dream for others, but it should only take a few years for him.
‘In the end... even though he had made a lot of money, he’s still envious and happy when he sees a car worth just 1 or 2 million yuan. Therefore, no matter how high up the ladder he climbs or how much money he makes, he’s never going to be able to cover up the farmer’s stench within him.’
She sized up Su Yang’s clothes.
‘Shoes, 20 yuan
‘Shorts, 50 yuan
‘T-shirt. 45
‘Hmm... He hasn’t even got 100 yuan’s worth on him.
‘At least... I don’t think it’s more than 100 yuan?
‘It’s definitely approximately 100 yuan.
‘He’s earned so much money in a year, yet he ends up spending so little on his daily necessities and doesn’t even look like he’s done any upgrade to his lifestyle. How’s that any different from not earning any money at all?!
‘Chu Xia is actually throwing herself at this kind of guy?!
‘I feel bad for Chu Xia just thinking about it.’
The superiority of being born in a big city made Wang Bei feel even more smug.
She raised her chin and added, “Yes, it’s very expensive. After all, that car is a luxury car among luxury cars. It’s considered one of the high-end models Ferrari has. Plus, it’s a top spec model, so it’s only normal for it to cost 5 to 6 million.”
Chu Xia couldn’t help but exclaim, “5 to 6 million. Are you sure it’s in RMB?”
Wang Bei nodded, “Yes, RMB.”
Chu Xia covered her mouth in surprise.
Then, she got close to Su Yang’s ear and whispered softly so that only the two of them could hear, “When you’re rich in the future, don’t even think about buying that car. It’s too expensive and isn’t practical...”
Su Yang coughed and did not reply.
As the four of them chatted, Fatty Lu had also finished looking at the car. He looked up at Wang Bei and saw the four of them.
As a polite fatty, he respected his classmates’ friends. He walked over and greeted them with a smile. “Hello everyone, I’m Lu Mu. You can call me Fatty Lu.”
Su Yang, Chu Xia, and Luo Luo greeted him. Then, Wang Bei took the opportunity to introduce them. “These are my roommates, Chu Xia and Luo Luo. This is my... classmate, Su Yang.”
“Su Yang...” Fatty Lu heard the name and a hint of deep thought flashed across his eyes. Then he whispered to Wang Bei,” This person’s name sounds familiar. What does he do? ”
Wang Bei was already annoyed by Su Yang and did not want to introduce him. When she heard Fatty Lu’s question, she said casually, “He’s from the countryside. He owns a few companies, but he’s very stingy and can’t bear to spend his money. He even lives in the basement.”
Fatty Lu nodded when he heard that. ‘I’m probably overthinking things, he’s probably not even an important person.’
Su Yang, on the other hand, was quite interested in Fatty Lu. ‘Fatty Lu is very chubby and seems fun to play with. Furthermore, when he smiles, it seems quite fun when his eyes squint.’
He could not help but go over and chat with Fatty Lu. “Brother Lu, can you introduce these cars to me?”
Fatty Lu had a good temper and was not a judgemental person. He did not even bother hiding his interest in cars when he saw that Su Yang was interested in them as well. Therefore, he brought Su Yang along and started to explain the cars to him. He would explain the price, the kind of engine in the car, the horsepower, the colour of the exterior, the type of interior design used... All in all, Fatty Lu kept on going about the details of the cars, it was obvious that he loved cars.
As Wang Bei watched from the side, the disdain in her eyes became even stronger. ‘Su Yang seems like the kind of person who likes to curry favors with others and would suck up to a rich guy whenever he saw one. Furthermore, he clearly likes cars but is unwilling to buy them. What a stingy guy.
As the group continued to chat, they soon began talking about the red Ferrari.
Fatty Lu had been completely immersed in talking, when he saw the red Ferrari, he wanted to explain it to Su Yang as well. However, when he thought about how that was someone else’s car, he did not think that it would be appropriate to bring someone else to explore a car that did not belong to him, although he felt it did not matter if he were to secretly explore the car himself.
Therefore, he said regretfully, “Actually, that car isn’t too bad, but it’s not mine. So I can’t tell you about it. If you want to hear more about it, I’ll see if my other friends have it and I’ll bring you along to let you hear about it next time.”
When Su Yang heard that, he said, “Come on! I was really interested to hear you talk. Don’t stop now.”
He walked over and knocked on the car window. “Sister Zhaodi, please open the car door. My friend would like to have a look at the car.”
