Chapter 786 - I Only Like You
For a moment, Su Yang was speechless. ‘Hello? Could you not take advantage of the moment when others are dating to mess around? There might be a huge issue if you do so!
‘Chu Xia has just finished being jealous of Tang Jing, so how am I supposed to explain the situation if you suddenly show up?’
At that thought, Su Yang quickly said, “Hello, Young Master Jiang. Please wait for a while, I’m rather busy here.”
Jiang Yan didn’t waver at all. “No. I have something on tonight and I have to leave Shanghai. If I hadn’t received this info at the last minute, I wouldn’t be on my way to meet you now.”
Su Yang tried to get rid of the thought of her meeting. “Then... How about we talk over the phone?”
After he said this, Jiang Yan hung up, leaving a “Beep... Beep... Beep...” noise on the phone.
Hence, Su Yang was confused.
‘Did she... Agree or not?
‘I think it’s very likely that she didn’t even listen to what I said!’
He sighed at the thought. ‘Fine... Jiang Yan has been like this for a long time, I’ll just have to explain the situation to Chu Xia later.’
With that thought in mind, Su Yang took out his phone and played two rounds of Onmyoji: The Card Game.
Before the second round was over, Su Yang heard the sound of the door opening.
Su Yang thought that Chu Xia was back, so he turned around, only to realize that it was Jiang Yan, who was wearing sportswear and a pair of sunglasses. With just a glance, she looked like she was about to embark on a long journey. Then, she took huge strides towards the balcony.
Su Yang was speechless when he saw this.
Su Yang raised his hand and greeted, “Yo, Big Sister Jiang, you arrived here so quickly.”
‘Big Sister Jiang?’
Jiang Yan’s eyelids twitched when she heard Su Yang addressing her like that and suppressed the urge to push Su Yang off the platform as she said, “I was nearby.”
Su Yang put away his glass phone and gestured to the spare chair by the wall. “Have a seat. Why are you looking for me so urgently?”
Jiang Yan knew some etiquette indeed. When she realized that Su Yang was having a candlelight dinner, she didn’t even sit down and said coldly, “Let’s talk.”
As she spoke, she took the initiative and brought Su Yang to a conspicuous place by the door before they started chatting.
“I really salute you guys.” Jiang Yan used that sentence to start the conversation. Then she asked, “Did you meet Wang Jiang today?”
Su Yang was speechless when he heard this.
“Wow, the news has spread so quickly?”
Jiang Yan covered her forehead with one hand and said, “The both of you are currently within the Security Bureau’s crosshairs, so you shouldn’t cause any trouble.”
Su Yang replied, “He was the one who came to look for me, I didn’t provoke him in any way.”
Jiang Yan glared at Su Yang. She looked at the time and said, “I haven’t got time to waste on talking nonsense with you since I’m in a hurry to leave. I’m only here to tell you something.”
She was probably in a hurry, so she did not speak like she usually did. Instead, her words were continuous and relentless, like a machine gun. “The higher-ups want you all to hold back. No direct confrontation is allowed, and no special methods are allowed to harm each other either.”
Su Yang opened his mouth to explain, but Jiang Yan interrupted him. She looked at Su Yang seriously and said, “Su Yang, I don’t know if you treat me as one of your own, but at the very least, I treat you as my companion.
“The higher-ups have given their ultimatum.
“The Security Bureau also revealed to me that they suspect you have a way to bypass their daily surveillance. Therefore, whether they have evidence or not, as long as one of you is in trouble, they will treat the other party as a suspect and apprehend them immediately.
Hearing this, Su Yang became speechless and had a slight headache.
‘Based on what she’s saying, I can tell that the Security Bureau are taking matters very seriously this time.’
In fact, based on the information, Su Yang had also managed to analyze many clues. For example, in the past few incidents, the country had already suspected that Su Yang had some abilities or methods that surpassed modern technology to carry out the perfect crimes.
However, because of Su Yang’s identity and his contributions to the country, they did not pursue the matter anymore.
However, as the “King” of Zhejiang, Wang Jiang’s status was too high. Thus, the ultimatum was that Su Yang was not allowed to deal with him using illegal means.
Moreover, Jiang Yan’s next words only served to further confirm Su Yang’s thoughts.
She combed her hair and looked at Su Yang coldly. “Su Yang, I don’t know how you did it, but I’m not interested in what you did before.
“However... Wang Jiang is the bottom line. He’s got too high a status, so you cannot use normal methods against him.
“You have to understand that the leaders of the country are all people like him. So, even if the rabbit dies, would the fox grieve? If you directly get rid of him, what will others think?
“In this world, whether it is in the light or in the dark, there are certain rules. When one does things within the rules, everyone will feel safe.
“However, once you move out of the rules, it will cause chaos.”
At this point, Jiang Yan sighed and said, “Although the people at the bottom always want justice, where justice would always reign supreme as per the TV dramas...”
“However, when you stand high enough, you will realize that both justice and evil are defined by the victors. Whether it is justice or evil, as long as it is within the rules, it is acceptable.
“Like some countries...
“What we’re afraid of is someone acting outside the rules, and can’t be controlled. Because this would mean that the ruling system has been broken, and everyone would start to act recklessly. Without rules, there would be no bottom line... Which would be the source of all chaos.”
Jiang Yan seemed to be a little different that night, because it was rare for her to feel sorry for Su Yang. “I only found out about what you’ve been doing recently. But there’s nothing we can do about it. You’ve already tied our family to the same boat, and my grandfather has vouched for you as a guarantor. So, we have no other way out of this.
“Therefore, you must think twice before you act.
“Don’t cross the line.
“Many things can be solved within the rules.
“Do you understand?”
Seeing Jiang Yan’s seriousness, Su Yang finally stopped hiding. He leaned against the railings behind him and played with an hourglass in his hand as he said lightly, “What if Wang Jiang attacks me or my family?”
Jiang Yan said seriously, “He won’t. Once he does, the country won’t let him go.”
Although Jiang Yan was serious, Su Yang could sense the hesitation in her eyes.
In fact, the [Eye of Origins] did judge that Jiang Yan actually showed hesitation and was not so sure about her own statement...
Sensing Su Yang’s disbelief, Jiang Yan said seriously again, “Even if the country lets him off, the Jiangs won’t. We will also support your revenge when the time comes.”
[Eye of Origins] judged it as. [Honest], [Serious].
Su Yang smiled and patted Jiang Yan’s shoulder. “Thanks, Sister Jiang.”
Seeing Su Yang’s expression, Jiang Yan seemed to have noticed something. She said, “Don’t be rash.”
Su Yang looked at her. “Don’t worry. Even if it’s within the rules, I still have many ways to deal with him.”
Hearing Su Yang’s words, Jiang Yan hesitated for a moment before her gaze turned determined. “Fine.”
After they finished talking, Jiang Yan returned to her usual cold and quiet self.
She looked at the time, then turned around and said, “I’m off.”
Su Yang did not mind. He waved his hand to send her off.
At that moment, the door was pushed open again. Chu Xia, who was wearing a red dress, walked in with a smile.
The make-up on her face had been removed, revealing her exquisite face. This made her less mature, more innocent, and more beautiful.
In fact, Chu Xia and Jiang Yan happened to walk opposite each other on the rooftop. She looked at Jiang Yan in surprise and then at Su Yang.
Jiang Yan’s gaze paused on Chu Xia’s face. A rare smile appeared on her cold face and she nodded.
Seeing this, Chu Xia nodded helplessly. Then, she watched as Jiang Yan walked past her and left the balcony.
Then, Chu Xia looked at Jiang Yan’s back and then at Su Yang with a curious expression.
Seeing this, Su Yang said, “She’s a friend. She had something urgent and came here to look for me.”
Chu Xia’s gaze stopped at Su Yang’s feet for a moment. Perhaps Jiang Yan had chosen a spot that was open and aboveboard and there was nothing suspicious about it. Hence, the doubts in her heart disappeared and she did not continue asking.
Instead, she walked to Su Yang and smiled as she circled around him. “How do I look? Better?”
Su Yang looked at Chu Xia’s cute face and chuckled in his heart. Then, he pretended to be blinded by the sand and said, “Ouch, why do my eyes suddenly feel uncomfortable?”
After all, Su Yang had a bronze ability for “acting”. Hence, his acting was very realistic, and Chu Xia was instantly fooled.
Hence, she hurried over with concern and asked, “Are you okay? What’s wrong?”
Su Yang raised his head. One of his eyes was closed, and the other was open. Then, he said, “Of course there’s something wrong. It’s all your fault. You fell into my eyes and charmed me. Now, all I can see is you.”
Chu Xia initially thought that Su Yang had really been blinded by some sand. However, when she heard Su Yang’s flirtatious words, her face turned red.
Su Yang was mesmerized by her blushing face. ‘She looks like a fairy that has just walked out of a painting.’
After a while, Chu Xia realized that Su Yang had stopped talking. She lifted her head carefully and realized that Su Yang was staring at her in a daze. She rolled her eyes at him shyly. “What are you looking at?”
Su Yang might have been infected by that Sea King Qu Xuan, so he quickly replied, “Looking at a fairy.”
As he said that, he picked Chu Xia up and shouted at the sky, “Mommy! Hurry up and come see! A fairy has descended to the mortal world!”
Chu Xia was hugged by Su Yang and her voice filled the entire rooftop like silver bells as she chuckled.
The two of them messed around for a while before Su Yang put Chu Xia down.
Then, the two of them returned to the dining table and had some dessert. After that, Su Yang looked at the time and realized that it was already quite late.
So, he said to Chu Xia, “Shall I send you home?”
Chu Xia nodded obediently, “Up to you.”
Su Yang felt that Chu Xia was hinting at something.
However, he did not think too much about it. He called the waiter who had been waiting at the door and took out his credit card to pay.
The waiter took the card and asked through the walkie-talkie. Then, he said to Su Yang, “Excuse me, sir. The bill has been paid.”
“It’s been paid?” Su Yang’s first reaction was that Jiang Yan had bought it.
However, on second thought, Jiang Yan seemed to be really busy tonight. She probably didn’t have time to pay the bill. Plus, Jiang Yan didn’t look like the kind of person who would pay the bill.
Therefore, after eliminating that option, there was only one option left.
Hence, Su Yang looked at Chu Xia and asked in surprise, “You paid for it?”
Chu Xia put her hands behind her back and puffed out her chest, looking like she was asking for praise. “That’s right. Am I a good girl?”
‘No wonder Chu Xia left so soon.’ At that thought, Su Yang asked curiously, “Where did you get the money?”
‘This is a Michelin-starred restaurant, and I even booked the entire balcony. The price can’t possibly be cheap.’
Chu Xia said proudly, “Have you forgotten that my novel has been sold?”
She patted her bag and said proudly, “So, I’m actually a rich lady too.”
After hearing Chu Xia’s words, Su Yang recalled that Chu Xia’s film rights had been sold half a year ago. ‘I seem to recall that she sold it for millions of yuan.
‘Now that I think of it, she’s actually a little rich lady.’
With that thought in mind, Su Yang smiled and said to Chu Xia, “Wow! I didn’t expect to meet a rich lady. Looks like I’m on the road to be a freeloader from now on!”
“Hehe.” Chu Xia was once again amused by Su Yang. However, she went along with Su Yang’s words and raised her head. She patted Su Yang’s arm and said proudly, “Yeap, that’s right. From now on, you’ll be living off me!
“As long as you perform well enough to satisfy me, then... Hehe, I won’t starve you!”
Su Yang smiled and said, “Yes, Milady!”
Perhaps love was like that. As long as one liked it, they could continue to talk about any topic. A casual sentence would make one involuntarily smile.
This is probably why... Everyone longs for love.
After that, Su Yang got into the car and drove Chu Xia home.
On the way, Chu Xia asked curiously, “Oh right, who was that lady I saw on the rooftop just now?”
Su Yang took a glance at the rearview mirror and said, “She’s... The eldest daughter of the Jiangs.”
“The eldest daughter of the Jiangs?” Chu Xia obviously didn’t understand what this surname meant because she was still pondering which of the Jiangs it was.
Before she could figure it out, Su Yang added, “But, she’s not a lady. More accurately, she’s a man.”
“A man?” Chu Xia was shocked.
Su Yang replied, “That’s right. Her sexual orientation is different from ours, she likes girls.”
Chu Xia covered her mouth and exclaimed, “Really? I couldn’t tell at all.”
Su Yang glanced at her. “Of course it’s true. I’ve even met her girlfriend before.”
At that point, Su Yang suddenly remembered that Jiang Yan seemed to be smiling at Chu Xia just now, hence he immediately warned Chu Xia, “By the way, stay away from her! I don’t want to be cheated on by a girl!”
Chu Xia was so angry that she laughed. “What the heck are you thinking about everyday?! She likes girls, but I don’t! I only like you.”
Su Yang smiled when he heard this.
After sending Chu Xia home, Su Yang drove back to the hotel.
Then, he stopped the car and went upstairs to his room.
Su Yang first asked Little Deeny to check if there were any surveillance cameras in the room. After confirming that there were none, he sat quietly for a while before taking out his glass phone and instructed Little Deeny, “Have all the little monsters with intermediate intelligence and above come to the virtual space. I want to have a meeting to study Wang Jiang’s matters!”
