Chapter 278 Is The Recipe Item... A Circus?
Su Yang was a bit confused as to who it was. “Who is it?” Little Deeny repeated herself, “Pan Zhaodi’s younger brother...”
Su Yang looked incredulous. “Pan Zhaodi’s younger brother went to work as a security guard at Longteng Jiayuan?”
Little Deeny was speechless. “Master, you’d better talk to him yourself. Maybe... Everything is a misunderstanding.”
‘A misunderstanding? What misunderstanding?’
With a head full of doubts, Su Yang left the room, went downstairs, and followed Little Deeny to a location outside of the neighborhood. Finally, he found Pan Zhaodi’s brother. He was being pressed onto the ground by Janet under a tree just outside the neighborhood
Initially, Su Yang thought that Janet had caught the wrong person. However, after looking at the person’s outfit, he knew there was no mistake. Dressed in a trench coat while wearing a hat and sunglasses. This was the one who had been following him.
Su Yang walked over to Janet and looked at her. “What’s going on?”
Janet replied coldly, “I don’t know. It was Little Deeny who told me to stop.”
At that moment, the man who was being held down by Janet shouted toward Su Yang, “Brother-in-law! Brother-in-law! Tell your men to let me go!” ‘Brother-in... Law?’
Su Yang was full of question marks. ‘What’s this all about?’
He didn’t ask Janet to let go. Instead, he crouched down and took off the man’s hat and sunglasses. Underneath the sunglasses was a young man who looked to be in his twenties. He had a square face to which Su Yang snapped at, “You’re definitely not Pan Zhaodi’s brother.”
The youth asked in surprise, “Why!?”
Su Yang replied, “You don’t look anything like her. She’s nowhere near as ugly as you.”
He was speechless and tried to explain. “I look like my mother! My sister looks like my father! That’s why we’re not alike!”
Su Yang spat on the ground. “As if I’d believe you!”
“Spit it out, who the hell sent you here? Don’t you know that something’s happened at Longteng Jiayuan?”
That young man looked confused. “Longteng Jiayuan? What Longteng Jiayuan?”
‘Huh? Doesn’t he know about Longteng Jiayuan?’
[Su Yang then realized that the few words this young man just said weren’t lies. (Heaven’s Eyes) didn’t activate, so it indicated he was telling the truth. It was just that Su Yang had a preconceived notion that he was lying so he forgot about (Higher Life’s Eyes]’s lie detection ability. ‘Is this youth in front of me really Pan Zhaodi’s brother?’
Su Yang was a bit confused.
“Then why did this young chap call me brother-in-law?’
Su Yang felt that this was too weird...
However, since he already knew the young man’s identity, he waved his hand at Janet. “Let go of him.”
Janet obeyed the order to let go of his hand.
The youth climbed up from the ground, moved his neck and arms, and then complained to Su Yang. “Brother-in-law, your bodyguard is too violent...”
“But...” He quietly leaned in next to Su Yang and raised his eyebrows at Su Yang while looking at Janet. “She looks tasty though!”
Su Yang was speechless.
‘Tasty you say... You’ll know what ‘tasty’ means when he pulls ‘it’ out in front of you. It’ll be way bigger than yours.’
Su Yang ignored him and asked, “Why do you call me brother-in-law?”
The youth replied, “You’re married to my sister, so of course I have to call you brother-in-law. Nope... You’re divorced, so you should be my ex-brother-in-law.”
At this moment, the youth jumped back and gestured at Su Yang. “Right! You almost had me fooled! You scum! How dare you abandon my sister!”
Su Yang was speechless.
‘What is this?
‘What’s this all about?
‘Did this kid mistake him for someone else?’
Thinking like that, Su Yang asked, “Do you know who I am?” The youth replied, “I do. You’re my brother-in-law.”
Su Yang continued his line of questioning, “I’m asking you, do you know what my name
is?”
The youth thought to himself. “Seven... Seventh Liu?”
Su Yang was speechless.
‘Hmm. Let’s not talk about him getting the name right or wrong. This guy really has mistaken me for someone else.’
Su Yang said, “I’m not Sixth Liu, my name is Su Yang. I’m also not your brother-in-law. You’ve mistaken me for someone else.”
The youth waved his hand. “You’re lying to me! I’ve been watching you for ten days! I’ve noticed you since you started walking your dog. The dog you walk is my sister’s Eggy! And you moved into the basement at first, but then you went back to your old home, right? I’ve noticed everything! You lied to me!”
Su Yang was speechless.
He suddenly recalled that this youth was the first person to stalk him. He started following him when he started walking Eggy.
Then, barely two days later, he went to look for Sixth Liu and was noticed by the head of security so the brawny men from Longteng Jiayuan started following him again. “The two incidents were so close... I mistakenly thought they were in cahoots...
‘So that’s how it is.’
Su Yang thought about it, took the phone from Janet’s hand and sent a message to Little Deeny. (Put my ID in my pocket).
After sending it, Su Yang put the phone in his pocket. After a moment, he felt a shock in his pocket and took out his identity card from his pocket to show it to the youth. “Look carefully, I’m really not your ex-brother-in-law, my name is Su Yang. I’m your ex-brother-in-law’s tenant. That dog is also a dog that I was incidentally helping to look after.”
The youth looked at Su Yang’s ID card, and his mouth slowly gaped open. He couldn’t help but say, “I... Then what have I been stalking for the past ten days?!”
Su Yang replied, “God knows what you’re stalking.”
After saying that, Su Yang waved his hand towards Janet. “Go away, Janet. Ignore him.”
As soon as Su Yang turned around, his arm was pulled by Pan Zhaodi’s brother who looked like he was about to cry, “Brother-in-law, no... Well, Su Yang, can you give me some money, I-I’m so poor that I don’t have anywhere to eat.”
Su Yang was speechless.
“This guy isn’t a liar, right?’
In the end, Su Yang didn’t give him any money, but took him home and ‘cooked’ a meal for him.
[Perhaps the (grass-eating Iron Pot] cooks too good, or maybe the young man was too hungry, anyway, once the rice came up, Pan Zhaodi’s brother’s eyes lit up and he picked up his chopsticks and gobbled it up.
Su Yang was drinking water on the side looking at him, “Eat slowly, if you choke to death I will have to call the police.”
Pan Zhaodi’s brother said as he stuffed rice into his mouth, “Brother-in-law, you’re really too good, this rice is too good! Why did my sister divorce you!”
Su Yang was speechless.
“Let me tell you one more time, I’m not your brother-in-law.”
Pan Zhaodi’s brother nodded his head in succession. “Yes, yes, I’ve been stalking you for the past ten days, I’m used to it, I can’t change it at the moment. Hey... It would be good if my sister married you.”
Su Yang coughed.
Pan Zhaodi’s younger brother ate his meal, but also didn’t forget to extend his hand toward Su Yang. “Right, brother-in-law, introduce me, my name is Pan Shuai, I’m Pan Zhaodi’s younger brother.”
Su Yang didn’t even bother to defend his identity. “Oh... I know. Finish eating and hurry up.”
Pan Shuai stuffed chicken into his mouth while looking at Su Yang with his four-sided face. “Brother-in-law... Aren’t you emphatic toward my situation?.”
Su Yang replied, “Not really. After all, I have nothing to do with your sister.”
After finishing his meal, Su Yang drove Pan Shuai away. He knew Pan Zhaodi, so it was a favor to offer her brother a meal, However... for anything beyond that? Forget it. After all, he didn’t know Pan Zhaodi very well.
After driving Pan Shuai away, Su Yang entered the virtual space and saw Pan Zhaodi’s Labrador, Eggy. ‘Sh*t... I forgot to let Pan Shuai take Eggy away.’
Eggy looked at Su Yang pitifully, and Su Yang smiled at it.
In the evening, Su Yang finished his meal and rested while browsing the news on his phone.
After a while, Su Yang suddenly found that there was some negative news about the Find Me app on the internet that read, “The Find Me App Has Become A Dating App!” and “Find Me App Involved In Pornography”. It didn’t seem like a big deal at first glance, and might even be some kind of propaganda. However, now that the country was cracking down on pornography and illegal activities, Su Yang felt like there was something fishy about it.
He sent the news to Little Deeny. “Little Deeny, help me investigate the matter. See if there’s any problem.”.
After a moment, Little Deeny’s voice sounded in Su Yang’s ear, “Master. These are all public or local stations of well-known online media. The news from these places are all pay-to-publish, so it might be someone targeting the Find Me app.” Su Yang frowned, he guessed correctly after all. He asked, “Can you find out who is behind this through analysis?” Deeny replied, “It can’t be determined, because these public and local stations post everything in the news. However... I did find something unusual, all the numbers and local stations that sent out articles saying we were involved in pornography while promoting an article about an app called the [In] App.”
‘[In] App?’
Su Yang has a lot of knowledge about the [in] app, which was also modeled after the software developed by foreigners. However, the difference with the Find Me app Su Yang owns was that it focused on taking photos and sharing them while Su Yang’s app focused on socializing
The two seemed to be similar but there was a different positioning, The volume of users for the [In] App was dozens or hundreds of times more than the Find Me app.
Su Yang remembered reading a report saying that the registered users on the [In] App had exceeded 50 million.
‘I’m a little shrimp compared to them, why are they targeting me?’
Su Yang felt like something was wrong...
‘Did I develop too fast and got noticed?’
Su Yang was deep in thought. Anyway, Su Yang didn’t care about that. What he cared about instead was another thing. ‘Today is Saturday, tomorrow is Sunday, the recipe items from the system store this week haven’t been exchanged yet, should I exchange some?’
Thinking so, Su Yang turned off the virtual interface suspended in front of him and silently opened the System Store.
Suddenly, the System Store’s interface appeared in front of him.
Random Points x 2
Guardian talisman x 7
Recipe Item: A circus of unknown abilities.
‘A circus?’
Su Yang is a bit confused, what is this thing?
‘Is the circus a place, a group of performers, or an object?’
Su Yang looked at the pattern of that merchandise and found that it was covered in a translucent mist, making it indistinguishable.
‘It’s so strange...’ Su Yang clicked on the circus recipe. One +1 mask, 10 hula hoops, a set of clown clothes, and five fire pots...
“These look like circus things.’
This was the second time Su Yang encountered a recipe limited by +1 items. The last time was the (Book of Negative Symptoms), which specified that it had to be a [+1 book]. However, it was a +1 mask this time.
Su Yang didn’t have this kind of item in his hand, so... it looked like he would need to add a point to it.
Su Yang looked at the mysterious circus in the system store and thought about random points again. He felt like... this thing was probably more precious than a random point! In that case, he’d spend a random point to give it a try! He was curious about what this circus was capable of achieving!
