An hour later, Little Deeny looked at Su Yang who was staring at the sky with his dead fish eyes obediently and asked, “Master, it’s time. I can remove your mask now. Would you like me to?”
“If you want to keep it on for a little longer, jump once. If you want to remove it now, jump twice.”
With that, she looked at the salted fish lying on the swing which was about to dry out...
Moments later, the salted fish jumped up once and fell with a “Splat”.
Little Deeny silently counted. ‘1.’
She waited for another 30 seconds but Su Yang did not jump again. Hence, she said, “Alright, Master, I understand, you go ahead and wear it for a little longer then.”
Salted Fish Su Yang was confused.
In fact, Su Yang had already recovered and wanted to remove his mask. However, he was a salted fish at that moment and it took all his energy to jump. If he wanted to jump a second time, he would need at least 1 to 2 minutes of rest. ‘There’s no way I can jump a second time!’
Therefore, he could only keep on turning his eyes, hoping to attract Little Deeny’s attention.
He spun and spun, until Little Deeny finally noticed him. “Master, why are your eyes spinning? Are you alright?”
Then, Su Yang stopped spinning his eyes.
As expected, Little Deeny noticed the abnormality. She said, “Master, do you want to take off your mask now? If you want to, spin your eyes around once. Otherwise, spin twice.”
Su Yang quickly spun his eyes around once.
Little Deeny placed the information on the “book” to the other side of the swing and started rummaging around Su Yang’s fish form.
After searching around for a long time, Little Deeny found something smooth and soft.
She pinched the object and gave it a gentle tug.
Suddenly, a white mask with 2 black fishes drawn on it appeared in her hand.
Then, Su Yang returned to his human form with a ‘Bang’!
However, when Su Yang was a salted fish, he was lying on the swing. Therefore, when he transformed back into his human form, he was immediately tripped by the swing and fell headfirst.
When a person was in danger, their body would not be able to control itself, the same goes for Su Yang. He instinctively wanted to grab onto everything around him to regain control over his body’s balance. Hence... Little Deeny, who was beside him, was dragged into the situation.
Su Yang grabbed Little Deeny and both of them fell to the ground.
“Ouch.” “Ouch...” The 2 of them fell into a heap. A tragic sight to behold.
After a full minute, Su Yang finally recovered. He was pressing Little Deeny onto the ground but did not forget to ask in concern, “Little Deeny, are you alright?”
Little Deeny raised her head and looked at Su Yang pitifully. “I’m fine, Master. It’s just a little painful...”
After saying that, she felt that something was wrong with her body. She lowered her head and saw that Su Yang’s hand was on her breast. Instantly, she blushed.
Su Yang felt something soft in his hand as well. He followed Little Deeny’s line of sight and was shocked before he quickly let go.
Then, he coughed and hurriedly sat up.
When Little Deeny got up from the ground, Su Yang changed the topic in order to cover up the awkward situation. “Time to educate you, Little Deeny.”
“Since you know how to ask me to ‘bounce’ to convey my message, why couldn’t you say ‘jump once if you agree, twice if you don’t’?”
Little Deeny lowered her head and blushed. “Okay, Master.”
With that, she got up and ran downstairs with a reddened face.
Su Yang was confused.
‘What have I said? Just an “okay”? She didn’t even answer my question!
‘Also! I haven’t even finished educating her, why has she run away...’
However, since Little Deeny had already run away, Su Yang could not drag her back. Hence, he could only shout at Little Deeny from behind as he walked down the stairs. “Little Deeny! Call Little Hus for me please.”
Little Deeny’s voice came from downstairs. “Okay!”
After Little Deeny left, Su Yang touched his arm that was hurting from the fall. Suddenly, he realized something. “That’s not right. Couldn’t this girl teleport? Why is she running on foot? Has she gone silly from being too shy?”
After a while, Little Hus came up as it shook its head.
When it saw Su Yang, it glared at him and said fiercely, “Why are you looking for me? I was busy drawing a portrait of the Lesser Quickgold Monster.” (艹皿艹)
Su Yang was speechless.
‘Although Little Hus’s tone sounds good, why does this silly dog’s face seem like it’s going to bite me within the next second?
‘Ever since it grew dog fur, it looks more ferocious and... More and more annoying.
‘Looking at it makes my hands itch. Could it be the husky’s talent?’
Su Yang removed those thoughts from his mind and asked, “Why have you gone and started drawing portraits of the Quickgold Monsters? What about Janet?”
A confident expression appeared on the little husky’s face. “I’ve decided to start from the basics. I’m starting with eggs first. Oh, wait, gold eggs.”
Su Yang was speechless.
He recalled that he had spent 3 days and 3 nights drawing tens of thousands of eggs in order to complete the [Drawing Ability] mission. The thought of it made him want to die...
Unexpectedly, Little Hus had taken the same path as him.
Su Yang ignored the silly dog and picked up the book that Little Deeny had left behind.
This ‘book’ is actually still a virtual interface. It was just that Little Deeny had split the document into pages and then it turned into a book.
‘There are exactly 5 film and television projects in this document. Little Hus will be able to finish sniffing out all of them in 1 day with its “ability usage”.’
Little Hus sniffed each of the projects and then mulled them over carefully before saying, “Hmm... they all seem to have a slight fragrance.”
It then said, “The strongest fragrance should be “Legend of Wu Zetian”. The fragrance from this project is pretty good the moment I sniffed it, followed by “The Imperial Doctress” which isn’t bad either. However, the other 3 projects slightly pale in comparison, but they all have a faint fragrance.”
That time, Su Yang was really surprised.
In the past, whenever he encountered a project, he would let Little Hus sniff it and 8 out of 10 of them would not have a scent. It would be like waiting for a jackpot to get 1 project with a fragrance, that was why he needed someone to recommend a project to him and help him find a place to invest.
In the end, Han Yi had only just arrived at the company and had not even gotten herself familiar with her new environment, yet the other film companies in the entertainment industry had already sent over so many good projects.
‘Although I have no idea whether it’s because the project itself is good, or because Han Yi will be able to complete the project. However, this at least proves Han Yi’s ability to bring in projects. If there are so many projects every month in the future, it would greatly increase my chances of finding a profitable project.’
Su Yang was very pleased. ‘It was the right choice to bring Han Yi back! She’s much better than Lin Jiali!’
Luckily, Lin Jiali did not know what Su Yang was thinking. Otherwise, she would have placed her hand on her chest and said exaggeratedly, “You’ve changed. When you didn’t have Han Yi, you called me Little Sweetie. Now that you have Han Yi, you’re calling me Piece Of Trash!”
Su Yang recorded the fragrances of the projects that Little Hus had sniffed. ‘I’ll let Little Hus sniff out the same 5 projects again, but a different aspect of it tomorrow.
‘For example, will the projects be able to help boost Han Yi’s popularity?
‘After all, I’m not only the boss of a film company, I’m Han Yi’s boss as well.
‘As a domestic quasi A-ranked celebrity, Han Yi’s value is higher than the entire New Arts Culture. I have to be responsible for her...’
Before Han Yi returned, Su Yang had especially discussed with Li Zijun about celebrities. Hence, they had a basic understanding of celebrities and artistes.
To put it bluntly, an artiste was just a product. This product obviously was not referring to the person themselves, but in the eyes of the fans about their image, hopes and expectations the fans had for them.
Therefore, choosing a project for an artiste not only depended on whether the project would become popular, but also whether it would help the artiste.
Some dramas might be very popular, but the artistes did not leave any impression amongst the audience. Hence, even if the show was profitable, it would not be beneficial for the artiste themselves except for making a quick buck.
On the other hand, some of the dramas that were very popular might cause the artiste to become very popular as well. However, it was actually notoriety that they gained. For example, they would act as a mistress, causing people to hate them. Not only would that kind of drama be bad for the artiste’s image, it might even backfire on them instead. Unless they were in need of money or owed some debts from gambling, artistes would try not to accept those kinds of jobs.
After all, there were many actors who had been scolded by the audience for many years because they had acted too well as villains. Some of them even end up having phobias since childhood.
Therefore, the purpose of a management agency was to confirm the artiste’s character and help them choose a suitable project. While earning money, they would amplify the artiste’s traits.
That was why many of the top celebrities, or even the second-rate celebrities, only acted as positive roles in the early stages of their debut instead of being the villains. This was because they needed to use the drama to solidify their character. This was not something that had just happened within the entertainment industry in recent years, even 1 of the 4 Kings, Little Wah, had done the same thing.
Of course, there were also people who liked to take on challenging roles the moment they entered the industry, or directly act as villains to compete for Best Actor and Best Actress awards. These kinds of people aren’t considered to be “celebrities”, but “actors”.
The former was a product, while the latter was a profession.
The industry had its own logic for this division.
When the top celebrities went downhill, they would try their best to transform into actors.
However, it was obvious that Han Yi had not reached this stage yet. She was still in the process of reaching the top. Therefore, Su Yang was still very cautious about his choices for her next movie.
After the recovery from being a salted fish, Su Yang was now full of energy and did not feel tired anymore. Since there was still some time before Gru’s added point was completed, Su Yang went downstairs with Little Hus and went to its art studio to watch it paint.
‘I must say, after Little Hus has gone through training for the past 2 to 3 months, its drawing skills... Haven’t improved 1 bit.’
When Su Yang saw the painting, there were only 2 words to describe it, extremely horrible!
Even the egg was crooked, looking more like a piece of modern art.
‘Thankfully, the Quickgold Monsters don’t understand art, or else it would probably turn into a gold blade and stab it to death.’
After giving Little Hus some pointers with its painting and seeing that it could finally draw a complete gold egg, Su Yang left the castle.
‘There’s still more than 10 minutes to go. Of course, I don’t want to miss the moment when my little precious is done with its added point.’
With that thought in mind, Su Yang arrived at the northeast part of the castle where the point had been added.
The place that used to be a small hill had now become a small pit. Gru’s green cocoon of light floated above the pit silently, and the countdown read [13:56].
‘There’s close to 14 minutes left, the added point will be completed very soon.’
Hence, Su Yang did not care if the floor was dirty or not. He just sat on the floor and waited for his little precious to finish adding its point.
In the blink of an eye, 10 minutes passed. With the countdown timer on the green cocoon of light returning to zero, the green cocoon of light that was silently floating in the air fell to the ground with a crash. Then, it shattered into pieces.
After it shattered and turned into little light dots on the ground before disappearing, a small treant that looked no different from before appeared from it. It was still the height of a human calf, with branches all over its body twisted together and a pair of big eyes on its face.
Su Yang sat up from the ground and looked at Gru in surprise. ‘Could it be... Gru’s failed to add a point?
‘Didn’t I use enough [Lucky Stones] to have a 100% success rate?
‘Or has Gru added a useless point?
‘Surely not!
‘I can’t even be bothered to bring up Gru’s useless +3 point, but is this going to be another useless point? Wouldn’t that be a complete tragedy?
‘Also... if it’s a useless point, why did it take so long?’
Just as Su Yang was feeling nervous and anxious, a notification popped up in front of him. [Withered Branch+4: Acquired Intermediate Intellect, New Talent Obtained, New Ability Obtained. Maximum point achieved.]
