Chapter 333 The Unpredictable People During The Wrapping Up Party (2)
Su Yang raised his head and looked at her in surprise. Even though she still had a sweet smile on her face, her eyes were trembling slightly. It was as if... she was afraid?
Furthermore, Su Yang’s hands were sweating, which made Su Yang feel damp.
If Su Yang wasn’t attentive, she probably wouldn’t have noticed such complicated emotions.
However, why was Mei Yue afraid of him?
‘Am I a monster?
‘Besides... it’s clearly your hand that’s gripping me so tightly. Why are you afraid of me?’ Confused, Su Yang removed Mei Yue’s hand and asked softly, “Are you feeling unwell?”
Mei Yue shook her head and there was a look of relief on her face. She looked to the right and dared not meet Su Yang’s eyes. “N-No.”
“There was no need for (Heaven’s Eye) to know that she was lying!
‘Why did she have such an expression the moment she shook my hand?
‘Could it be... that there was poison in my hands?’
Su Yang could not help but want to laugh. This was too ridiculous...
However, since Mei Yue did not want to talk about it, it was not convenient for Su Yang to ask her about it. Hence, Su Yang could only put this question to heart and started eating.
To put it bluntly, this meal was a celebration party for the production team. It had nothing to do with Su Yang. Su Yang came because Producer Zhao wanted to build a relationship with Su Yang, the boss.
Therefore, after the three main leads first toasted the director and producer, the other actors and crew members also started to toast at the main table.
During the toast, the most he said was, “Director Bubbles, you’re just amazing to work with. I hope there will be a chance to work together next time.”
From this, it could be seen that Bubbles was indeed a good director.
After all, the entertainment industry had a strict hierarchy. It was very hypocritical, but it was also very “real”. This truth was a bloody and unconcealed law of the jungle.
If you didn’t have the ability or power, no one would look at you in the eye. If you had the ability and proved yourself, countless people would be willing to come to you to film.
During this week, both the staff and actors had seen through Bubbles’ true capabilities. They believed that even if this movie did not explode in popularity, it would definitely make a small profit.
Also, since Bubbles was so young, her future was practically limitless.
She might change careers from being on the Internet to the big screen one day.
After all, online movies and big-screen movies were essentially the same.
Therefore, it was normal for them to build a good relationship with Bubbles in advance.
However, as party Bubbles’ family, Su Yang also felt honored. After all, Bubbles was a little monster that he added points to.
Now, everyone acknowledged her capability and this, in turn, was a recognition for Su Yang. ‘After all... It’s like Bubbles was my own.’ When it was Su Yang’s turn, the six interns and the actress who looked to be in her twenties also stood up to give a toast to Bubbles and Producer Zhao. Only Su Yang, Pan Zhaodi, and the woman in her forties were left at the table.
Su Yang looked around the banquet hall and realized that other than his table, only a few people were still eating.
Some of them were people who did not bother to curry favor with others, while others were like Su Yang, who did not need to please the director or producer. They were just invited guests like Lin Jiali’s assistant.
She seemed to have noticed Su Yang’s gaze and followed his line of sight. When she realized that it was Su Yang, her expression turned even colder. Su Yang could sense a hint of warning and dislike in her gaze.
Strangely enough, when she saw the forty-year-old woman sitting at Su Yang’s table, her eyes lit up and she gave Su Yang a smug look.
Su Yang retracted his gaze in confusion. He did not understand what this woman was thinking. He picked up a piece of pork rib and placed it in his bowl. Then, he turned to Pan Zhaodi and asked, “Is Li Zijun back?”
Pan Zhaodi took a napkin and wiped the corners of her mouth. “Not yet. She booked a flight for tonight.”
Su Yang nodded. He still wanted to talk to the little bun about the release of the movie. He was only in the post-production stage and didn’t know much about it.
Although Producer Zhao had signed an agreement with iQiyi, it would be better to let iQiyi decide on their own publicity plans.
Hence, Su Yang hoped that Li Zijun could keep an eye on him.
Just as the two of them were chatting, a woman’s voice suddenly rang in Su Yang’s ears. “Hello, Director Su.”
‘Did someone discover my identity?’
Su Yang looked in the direction of the voice and saw a woman in her forties greeting him.
Facing a stranger, Su Yang did not deny his identity. Instead, he asked, “You are?”
The middle-aged woman had the feeling that she was a mysterious teacher as she said, “I’m Chu Hong, Lin Jiali’s manager.”
‘Chu Hong? Wasn’t she was the ace manager who discovered Han Yi? She was also the Vice President of Su Yang’s management company.
Su Yang was never stingy with his company’s generals. He smiled and extended his hand. “Hello, Vice President Chu. I didn’t expect to see you here.” While Su Yang and Chu Hong were chatting, Lin Jiali’s assistant was secretly observing Su Yang’s situation.
Actually, she knew that Chu Hong had come over today. The reason was that she had told her a secret...
She was Lin Jiali’s assistant. Although Chu Hong was the vice president, she was also Lin Jiali’s manager. Therefore, she had to report to Chu Hong regularly.
When she was reporting about her work yesterday, she told her about Su Yang. She said that Su Yang was a fan who used the excuse of chasing after a celebrity to pester Lin Jiali.
After Chu Hong listened carefully and confirmed Su Yang’s situation, she rushed over without hesitation.
In Lin Jiali’s assistant’s mind, what could Chu Hong do if she rushed over? She was obviously here to deal with Su Yang!
As the company’s first celebrity, Lin Jiali wasn’t particularly famous. She was just a C-list celebrity, but she was still a celebrity!
The company had been incurring losses for the past few years, and the other artistes were losing money. She was the only one who could earn some money.
As a female artist, Lin Jiali could not be involved in scandals, especially when she did not intend to be in a relationship. That was why Lin Jiali’s assistant believed that Chu Hong was here to deal with Su Yang.
When Lin Jiali’s assistant saw the conversation between Su Yang and Chu Hong, she smiled slyly. She was really looking forward to Su Yang being taught a lesson by Chu Hong... Chu Hong said, “Director Su, it’s not a coincidence. I came here especially to look for you.”
Su Yang looked at the woman in front of him and was puzzled. “Oh? Why are you looking for me?”
Chu Hong’s expression did not change at all. “Actually, it’s nothing much. It’s just that after you bought over the company, you’ve never been to the company, so I wanted to meet you.”
(Heaven’s Eye) accurately indicated that she was lying.
However, Su Yang replied calmly, “I’ve been a little busy recently, so I’ve decided to go to the office at the end of the month.”
“The end of the month...’ Chu Hong nodded as if she’d thought of something.
Then, she extended her hand towards Su Yang. “I’ll look forward to our next meeting.” Su Yang shook her hand. After shaking hands with Su Yang, Chu Hong picked up her wine glass and raised it to Su Yang. “Director Su, let give you a toast. I hope that our company will be revived under your leadership.” Su Yang smiled as he raised his glass and clinked it with Chu Hong’s before downing it. After finishing her wine, Chu Hong excused herself, leaving Su Yang alone to ponder. Chu Hong came and left suddenly, as if she was really just meeting him. However, Su Yang felt that things were not that simple.
‘Is something going to happen to her agency?’ Su Yang was hesitating, and so was Lin Jiali’s assistant. Or rather, she had been hesitating ever since Chu Hong started chatting with Su Yang.
After all, she initially thought that Chu Hong would come up to Su Yang and scold him. She wanted him to scram and stop pestering her female celebrity!
To her surprise, Chu Hong started chatting with Su Yang
She was filled with disbelief. ‘Eh? Vice President Chu? Why is she chatting with Su Yang so calmly?’ Hmm... It must be to numb the opponent and then punch his head!
While she was consoling herself, Su Yang and Chu Hong were already chatting and laughing.
Then, she was confused. She must have seen wrongly! ‘Didn’t Sister Chu always call herself a tyrant manager? Why is she so easy to talk to?
‘Su Yang even shook hands with Chu Hong...’
Lin Jiali’s assistant was in shock. ‘Eh? Sister Chu shook hands with Su Yang? She must be trying to break Su Yang’s hand!’
‘Chu Hong even raised her glass to Su Yang...!
She continued fantasizing. ‘Vice President Chu! Splash him! Splash him!’
In the end, after Chu Hong finished drinking and stood up to leave, Lin Jiali’s assistant was completely dumbfounded.
She was utterly speechless
‘It ended just like that?
‘What happened to breaking his head, breaking his hands, and splashing wine on him?
‘Why is it all gone?’
Her small eyes were wide with shock, unable to understand why it was different from what she imagined...
Su Yang had no idea what the junior assistant was thinking. Naturally, he was not interested.
After Chu Hong left, Su Yang lowered his head and pondered for a while. Then, he stood up and said to Pan Zhaodi, “I’m going to the toilet.”
Pan Zhaodi wanted to get up, but Su Yang pressed on her shoulder first. “It’s alright. I can do it myself. I’m just outside.”
Seeing Su Yang’s insistence, Pan Zhaodi could only sit down.
Su Yang stood up and left the banquet hall. He went to the toilet at the side. As he filled the bathtub, he pondered over Chu Hong’s motive.
‘Is she representing herself or the company?
‘Is she really looking for me just for a meetup?’ As the boss of a few companies, Su Yang naturally knew that money could not solve everything in this world. This was especially so for a company that was “acquired”. If he could not appease the executives or employees in time, the company might even be paralyzed if there was a wave of resignation.
Hence, Su Yang had to be cautious. With that thought in mind, Su Yang zipped up her bag and gave Little Deeny a task. She was to use the internet to analyze her agency and see if there were any valuable clues.
He washed his hands and left the toilet.
When they reached the toilet, Su Yang tossed the matter aside and walked towards the banquet.
However, he had only taken a few steps when she heard a girl crying softly in a dark room.
‘Eh?
‘What’s going on!’
Su Yang entered the room carefully, wanting to hear the details.
However, when they got closer to the private room, Su Yang pricked up his ears. He could hear a woman crying softly with her mouth covered. Judging from her voice, she seemed to have been violated...
