After Su Yang thought about who he should talk to, he had an idea planned out. After comforting Tang Jing for a while longer, he changed the topic and discussed the investment company with her.
‘Even though Tang Jing’s stepmother called her a piece of trash to mock her instead of sincerely hoping that she would improve herself, her relationship with her father is also strained, plus she has a child. So, she really needs to have her own career in Shanghai.
‘After all, she can no longer rely on her family.
‘Furthermore, even if I don’t show my concern for Tang Jing, I should think of Tang Xiaomi. After all, she’s still a child, she’s going to need money for her to study and develop her talents.
‘Even though Tang Jing has 20 million yuan, she still can’t sit back and do nothing.’
With that thought in mind, Su Yang chatted with Tang Jing about the investment company. Together, they planned to build an investment company together where Su Yang would take 80% of the shares while Tang Jing would take 20%.
Tang Jing would be responsible for the daily operations and the early stages of the construction. If there were any projects that required approval, she would look for Su Yang.
Su Yang would have the final say of whether he would invest in the project or not.
This condition looked like an unfair agreement. It was as if Tang Jing would have to do all the work while Su Yang only needed to talk and make his decision. Plus, he would be holding the most shares and have the highest authority.
However, neither of them had any objections to this arrangement. Su Yang felt that he was worth the price. Putting everything else aside, Little Hus’s [Opportunity Sniffing] meant that all the projects chosen would definitely be profitable with zero losses. Just that alone, he would be worth more than 80%.
On the other hand, Tang Jing had agreed to whatever Su Yang said.
After discussing the distribution of shares, the two of them started to talk about how much each of them would have to bring out.
Su Yang made a rough estimate and said, “Sister Tang, I’m not going to take advantage of you. You’ll invest 20 million yuan for the 20% of your shares while I’ll invest 80 million yuan according to the ratio. Is that okay?”
Tang Jing shook her head and said, “We won’t be needing that much money during the early stages of our company, my 20 million yuan would be sufficient for the company to be operational.”
Su Yang replied, “That won’t do. Isn’t that the same as me earning your shares for nothing?”
Tang Jing looked at Su Yang and said gently with her clear eyes, “You were the one who helped me earn this money. Without you, I wouldn’t have so much in the first place.”
Su Yang was speechless.
‘Although that’s true, I’m still touched. Tang Jing really is a good woman...
‘However, I have no shortage of money at the moment. Plus, I can’t just leave the arrangements like this.
‘Even among normal friends, there are times when someone would recommend an investment project to each other. However, for these kinds of recommendations, it would only either end up with someone owing a favour to the friend who recommended the project, or they would buy that friend a meal when they’ve gained a profit.
‘In other words, no one would actually think that the money belonged to the person who recommended it.
‘After all, it’s an investment and there’s going to be either profit or loss. If there’s a profit gained, the person who recommended it would gain credit. However, if it were to be a loss project, would the person who recommended the project bear the responsibility?
‘I’ve got Little Hus with me, so I’ll know when the project would definitely be profitable, but Tang Jing won’t. Tang Jing could earn 20 million yuan because she trusted me, which was why she was willing to spend all her money to gamble on me. However, I can’t just take it for granted and assume that the money is mine.’
Therefore, Su Yang waved his hand. “No need, there’s really no need, we shouldn’t do it like this. I’ve still got to pay, I should also pay according to the ratio as well.”
Tang Jing thought about it and did not reject him. “In that case, you can pay 16 million yuan then.”
’16 million yuan for 80%.’ Su Yang did some calculations. ‘Fine, it’s still 20 million yuan.’
However, he felt that something was wrong and asked, “Then what are you doing with the 16 million yuan you have?”
Tang Jing looked at Su Yang and explained gently, “A house. I’m planning to buy a house in Shanghai with the 16 million yuan I have. Other than the house where Xiaomi and I live in, I’ll search for houses with one or two rooms which are easy to sell and invest in it.”
Then, Tang Jing added silently in her mind. ‘Of course, this house would also be yours...
Su Yang was a little confused. ‘Buying a house?’ The first thing that came to his mind was that it was not a good idea and he wanted to object.
However, he thought about it carefully and realized. ‘That seems like a good idea. Based on the progress of our country over the past ten years, the price of houses have doubled within a few years. Who knows, we might just be able to make more money by investing in real estate compared to running a company.
‘After all, even if I have Little Hus’s nose, venture capitals would mostly earn me a profit over five to ten years. When that time comes, it might actually not be as much as what buying and selling houses could make me.’
At that moment, Su Yang even thought of saying, “Why don’t we not start a company? You should just use all your money to buy houses.”
But in the end, Su Yang gave up on that idea. ‘After all, investing in real estate isn’t the legitimate way to go.’
Therefore, after thinking for a long time, Su Yang finally nodded in agreement to Tang Jing’s decision.
Because the company’s total investment had decreased by four-fifths, Su Yang and Tang Jing had also made a rough plan. Unless the company encountered a project with great potential, they would only invest in Angel Investments or Series A projects. Then, when the project reached Series C or Series D, the would then withdraw.
Their plan was to use small investments to reap big profits.
If they encountered a project with great potential, he could hold onto the shares until the project gets listed on IPO.
Su Yang and Tang Jing chatted for a while more before going back to their room to rest.
After returning to his room, Su Yang laid on his bed and sent Fatty Lu a WeChat message. [Fatty, are you asleep?]
Fatty Lu did not reply to Su Yang for five minutes. Just when Su Yang thought that he might have fallen asleep, Fatty Lu replied with a voice message. Fatty Lu was panting heavily as though he had just finished an intense exercise. “What’s the matter? President Su, did you need something from me?”
Su Yang was not curious about what Fatty Lu was doing. Instead, he sent a text message. ‘I want to ask you, would you normally anger your mom when you’re at home?’
Not long after, Fatty Lu replied. This time, through a text message. ‘Occasionally, I guess.’
When Su Yang saw those three words, he felt that he might have a chance with Fatty Lu. Hence, he asked, [How do you usually make your mom angry?]
After asking that question, Su Yang felt that it was a little inappropriate. Hence, he added, “Or, do you have any way to anger an annoying female relative who is about the same age as your mother? Hmm, something that’s not too overboard, but enough to make them angry.”
Fatty Lu did not reply for a long time.
Su Yang waited patiently. After ten minutes, Fatty Lu called Su Yang.
He picked up the phone, and a girl’s coquettish voice came from the other end of the line along with Fatty Lu’s thumping footsteps. After a while, he asked while panting, “President Su, why are you asking this?”
Su Yang replied, “Oh, here’s the thing. I have a female relative in my family who is very annoying and always meddles in other people’s business. That’s why I want to anger her. However, I don’t have any good ideas, so I thought of asking you.”
Fatty Lu said, “Oh. I see... I’m not very good at it myself actually.”
“However, if it were me, I would find out what that person hates and then do it on purpose.”
He said, “For example, there was one time when my mom was unhappy at work, but she took it out on me. I purposely posted a few photos of some cats on my WeChat Moments to spite her.”
Su Yang asked, “Why?”
Fatty Lu said, “Because she’s afraid of cats. She gets goosebumps when she sees cats.”
Su Yang took out a pen and paper and wrote it down silently.
Fatty Lu said proudly, “Generally speaking, middle-aged people like my mother hate cats, dogs, birds and snakes. Anyway, there’s bound to be a little animal that they hate.”
Su Yang added another line. ‘Cats, dogs, birds, snakes... Hmm, I’ll leave out snakes, that’s a little dangerous.’
Su Yang was curious. “Why are people afraid of birds?”
Fatty Lu scratched his head and said, “I don’t know either. Maybe it’s because they’ve got a sharp mouth.”
Su Yang was dumbfounded. ‘Afraid just because their mouths are sharp...
‘Women were really strange living beings.’
Su Yang continued asking, “Then? Is there anything else?”
Fatty Lu thought for a moment and said, “Actually, there is one, which is to not reason with them. For example, if she tells you anything, you just have to listen and nod continuously. It will numb them and make them think that you really listened to her, making them feel proud.”
“At their age, if they feel proud, they will normally ride on their victory and ask a follow up question after they were done chatting by saying ‘Do you understand?’.”
“If you grab that opportunity and retaliate by saying ‘I don’t understand’. She’ll definitely choke and maybe even be extremely angry!”
“Even if she didn’t ask such a question, she would probably ask, ‘You look like you understand, so what do you plan to do in the future?’. In that case, you could say ‘Nothing’, or you could reiterate what you had just done wrong all over again, that would probably make them furious.”
When Su Yang heard that, he opened his mouth wide and gave Fatty Lu a thumbs up on the other end of the phone. ‘How could he be bad at this at all?! He’s literally the king of angering his parents!
‘He should have probably been a brat since he was young, shouldn’t he?’
After that, Su Yang and Fatty Lu chatted for a long time. Fatty Lu used his mother and aunties as examples to explain to Su Yang the “100 ways of p*ssing off a brat’s parents”. Su Yang was amazed.
‘This is probably the real contents of the book “10 ways to make Mom angry” that Tang Xiaomi had read previously.
After hanging up the phone, Su Yang carefully kept his records. ‘I can’t let Tang Xiaomi see this. If she learns this and angers Tang Jing to death, would I still be able to open up my company?’
With that thought in mind, Su Yang hid his records and sent Tang Jing a WeChat message, asking her to set up a meet with her stepmother when she was free. ‘When the time comes, I’ll definitely be good on my word! I’m going to help avenge her!’
Tang Jing did not say much and only replied with the word “Okay”.
Due to the size of the villa, Su Yang and Tang Jing often communicated via WeChat even though they were in the same house.
After settling Tang Jing’s matter, Su Yang locked the door and returned to the virtual space. He was prepared to continue planting trees because he still had to complete his Platinum Mission! If he could do more every day, he would be able to collect his rewards faster.
When Su Yang arrived at the castle, Little Hus was slacking off with Dagger Girl on its back.
Su Yang patted Dagger Girl’s head and asked Little Hus, “Where are the other monsters?”
Little Hus gave Su Yang a husky stare and said, “The others are still planting trees outside. They’re not as lazy as you are.”
Su Yang was speechless.
‘No matter how lazy I am, would I be lazier than you?!
‘All you do is hit three times! You’d then just call it a day after that!
‘No, that’s not right! Those three hits were also done by Dagger Girl. All you do is carry her as you run around!’
Su Yang was so angry that he kicked Little Hus twice and left the castle amid its screams.
When he arrived outside the castle, Su Yang first went to the valley behind. In the end, he realized that the valley was already filled with trees and the little monsters were no longer there.
Su Yang then asked Little Deeny where the little monsters were. He learned that they had already planted trees all over the empty space on the other side of the river.
Su Yang sighed as he walked over, impressed at the little monsters’ efficiency.
Su Yang crossed the river and arrived at the other side.
On the other side of the river was the core of Socot Island, where there were hills and forests.
Su Yang walked for a few hundred meters. Before he even crossed the hill, he saw all the little monsters sitting on the ground. They were all looking into the distance and without doing anything.
He walked over curiously and asked, “What are you guys looking at?”
