Chapter 662: Should I Revive The Devil?
He quickly walked to his VIP seat and took out the circus notebook.
There was indeed an additional option recorded in the notebook.
Su Yang took a look. ‘There’s only one person recorded on it... The Clown the Clown Sea Serpent.’
The record clearly recorded all of his reincarnations in the circus. What surprised Su Yang was that as long as the Clown the Clown Sea Serpent participated in the competition, regardless of whether it was killing each other or competitions on other skills, he would win all of it.
‘So far, he has won a total of 99 matches.
‘It seems like there’s another hidden rule to the [Burning Reincarnation Circus]... If they win 99 matches, they will automatically become permanent actors. This also gives the other actors in the circus who I don’t like, a chance to be revived.’
Su Yang could not help but let his thoughts wander. ‘If that’s the case, then the Clown the Clown Sea Serpent has already completed 99 trials unknowingly? Plus, it’s even won all of them?
‘After all, according to my records, he hasn’t lost a single battle.
‘What a scary person.
Previously, I didn’t dare to release him because he was too dangerous, but I couldn’t bring it to myself to have him eliminated because he’s just too powerful. That’s why I could only drag this matter temporarily.
‘Now, it seems like I’ve no choice but to deal with him.’
Su Yang sat on the VIP chair and pondered.
‘If I were to summon such a dangerous person, it’s going to be extremely easy for things to backfire against me.
‘I’ve got to come up with a way to make sure that I have complete control over him before I can feel at ease.
‘But, what’s a good way of controlling him?’
Su Yang turned on the system and checked all his “assets, going through them one by one without missing out a single special item, little monster, Bronze or Silver Abilities. He wanted to see if there was any way to solve his current predicament.
“[Ace 2B Pencil]? No, that’s useless.”
“[Sealing Lipstick]? What’s the point in sealing him? Next.”
“[Truth Or Explosion]? This won’t work as well, I’m out of slots.”
Su Yang sifted through them one by one. In the end, there were only two options left in his hands. One was the [Unrestricted Driver’s License], which allowed Su Yang to activate the affinity of Clown the Clown Sea Serpent.
As long as Su Yang increased his affinity, he believed that he would no longer have to worry about Clown the Clown Sea Serpent plotting against him.
But... Not only was this time-consuming, but it was also akin to allowing Clown the Clown Sea Serpent to be in control, which he could not accept.
Moreover, Su Yang found out from Guo Xiaoying that it was possible for Affinity Points to decrease as well.
‘If I were to clash with the Clown Sea Serpent in terms of ideology, I might not be able to guarantee that the latter would not have a good impression of me. If that happens, I would be in danger.’
Hence, Su Yang kept that option as a backup.
He then looked at his other option, [Absolute Verbal Contract].
After much consideration, Su Yang felt that this was the only ability that could allow him to restrict Clown the Clown Sea Serpent the most in a short period of time.
However, even though he had added a point onto [Absolute Verbal Contract] and now had eight slots, each of them was still extremely precious to him.
Hence, Su Yang felt that it would be a waste to spend it on Clown the Clown Sea Serpent.
Fortunately, the effects of this ability were not permanent after it was used. Hence, Su Yang could temporarily use this ability to make Clown the Clown Sea Serpent listen to him.
After that, Su Yang could create an ability that could control people and make the Clown Sea Serpent completely obedient to him.
After making that decision, Su Yang did not summon the Clown Sea Serpent immediately..
This was because according to Zhao Licheng’s information, the Clown Sea Serpent was a master at manipulating people’s hearts. Su Yang was afraid that his plan would not be perfect and that he would miss out on something, so he wanted to be more careful.
With that thought in mind, Su Yang was no longer in the mood to summon the checkered young man. Instead, he went out of the circus and got Little Deeny to make a video call with a few of the little monsters with intermediate intelligence. Of course, Zhao Licheng was one of them.
Therefore, very soon, the few little monsters who were outside attended the conference together.
During the meeting, Su Yang explained the situation of Clown the Clown Sea Serpent and gave his opinion. Then, he asked everyone to check if there was anything missing or whether they could come up with a better opinion.
The other monsters did not say anything and were all still deep in thought. Little Hus was the first to speak. It did not agree with Su Yang’s suggestion and felt that since the Clown Sea Serpent was so dangerous, Su Yang should not keep a time bomb with him, which was a very dangerous thing to do.
Little Deeny was the second to speak, but she refuted Little Hus. She believed that every little monster had a kind side and also a wicked side. However, it did not mean that the possibility of wicked little monsters turning over a new leaf did not exist.
Hence, she suggested giving the Clown Sea Serpent a chance.
Even though Little Deeny was supportive of him keeping the Clown Sea Serpent, Su Yang felt that Little Deeny was being too saintly. He had never thought of giving the Clown Sea Serpent a chance, but he just could not bear to part with such a talent...
‘Most of the people in my roster are living openly in broad daylight, so I lack someone who’s able to operate in the dark, which the Clown Sea Serpent is very suitable for.
‘That’s why I’m so attracted to the Clown Sea Serpent.’
After that, the other little monsters also expressed their opinions on this matter.
In the end, the majority supported Su Yang in summoning the Clown Sea Serpent.
Other than that, everyone started to add on to Su Yang’s plan, with Zhao Licheng providing the most opinions.
‘It seems like this 5-star talent has suffered a lot in the hands of the Clown Sea Serpent.’
Zhao Licheng went on to tell Su Yang about the Clown Sea Serpent’s actions with a grave expression and advised Su Yang not to give it any chance to speak, nor should Su Yang listen to whatever he says because he would be easily bewitched by the Clown Sea Serpent.
Then, Zhao Licheng suggested that Su Yang let the Clown Sea Serpent make an oath. If he refused, Su Yang was to kill it. On the contrary, if he did make an oath, Su Yang was to sign an [Absolute Verbal Contract] with him to bound the Clown Sea Serpent.
Su Yang agreed to this opinion.
Other than that, the little monsters also started a heated discussion about where the Clown Sea Serpent would live and what they should make him do.
In the end, a three-page plan regarding the Clown Sea Serpent appeared before Su Yang.
Su Yang read through the plan several times to memorize it before burning it. Then, he walked into the circus with a determined mindset.
When he arrived at the circus, Su Yang heard the warning and reminders from the circus once again, telling him that the Clown Sea Serpent would become a permanent actor the next day.
Su Yang ignored the notification and sat on his throne, summoning the Clown Sea Serpent.
When the Clown Sea Serpent was summoned, he was smiling through the other half of his face that was not wearing a clown mask. He seemed to have expected that Su Yang would summon him and even greeted Su Yang lazily. “You’ve arrived?”
Su Yang did not answer him and said directly, “I want you to say the following words. After that, I can revive you, but you have to listen to my orders.”
With that, Su Yang threw the paper filled with the oath onto the circus.
The Clown Sea Serpent didn’t seem surprised at all. He picked up the paper and read it aloud without even looking at it. “I promise I’ll never hurt you again no matter what happens, nor will I do anything that would bring harm upon you. Plus, I won’t do anything harmful to the little monsters as well. I won’t do anything...”
The oath was about a page long, yet the Clown Sea Serpent read through the entire thing without missing a single word.
Now, it was Su Yang’s turn to be shocked.
In his heart, he had always thought that this Clown the Clown Sea Serpent was a terrifying murderer and a master at manipulating people’s hearts. Hence, Su Yang imagined that he would have to have verbal spars with him for many times or even threaten him with death to make him submit.
In the end...
‘That’s it?
‘He didn’t even look at it and just went ahead and recited everything?
‘This has turned out completely different from what I imagined.’
When the Clown Sea Serpent finished reciting everything, Su Yang almost lost his senses.
At that moment, the Clown Sea Serpent looked at Su Yang with a faint smile and said, “Are you satisfied now, my master?”
Su Yang furrowed his brows. ‘Something’s amiss, but I’ve already done everything that I can. Plus, the little monsters have also helped me check for loopholes, so there shouldn’t be any problems, right?’
In the end, Su Yang could only attribute everything to his own wild imagination... ‘Perhaps it’s because of how easily he’s admitted defeat that I’m feeling uneasy?
‘I feel like a boxer who’s just started my career, PK-ing all the way until I’ve finally met the King of Fighters. Then, after I prepared myself for my battle by conducting research on the King of Fighters’ tactics and making all sorts of preparations... I end up... landing a K.O. with one punch.
‘Any sane person would be able to tell that there’s foul play involved!
‘This isn’t right! This isn’t how the script is written! Have you received money to lose deliberately?’
However, Su Yang’s merit was that he would not think about things that he could not figure out. Instead, he would take things one step at a time.
After all, the initiative was now in his hands since he had a contract with the Clown Sea Serpent. Most importantly, he had his trump card... His Silver Ability.
‘With these five Silver Abilities, I believe that as long as I keep a distance from the Clown Sea Serpent, I’ll be able to protect myself and have the Clown Sea Serpent’s life or death within my grasps.
‘Now that I think about it, there doesn’t seem to be anything for me to worry about, is there?’
At that thought, Su Yang suppressed the discomfort in his heart and left the circus. He then called out the [Absolute Verbal Contract] and signed all the contracts that the Clown Sea Serpent had made.
As the contract was signed, Su Yang felt a sense of security. ‘Now that this is settled, there shouldn’t be any more problems now, right?’
At that thought, Su Yang returned to the circus and stamped the seal on the Clown Sea Serpent, confirming that he was a permanent actor and would no longer have to suffer the pain of reincarnation.
After confirming that he would become a permanent actor, Su Yang went on to confirm the cost of reviving the Clown Sea Serpent with the circus.
The price for resurrecting the Clown Sea Serpent was 120 pounds of raw meat, 12 pounds of bones, one snake species and 10,000 coins.
‘The price of his revival is slightly lower than Zhao Licheng’s, mainly because the coins required to revive him is half of what Zhao Licheng’s, which is still within my acceptable range. At the moment, I’m able to gain about 8,000 coins per week, so it’d take a little more than a week to obtain 10,000 coins. So, it’s still worth the price to revive an expert.’
After that, Su Yang arranged for Janet to buy the meat, bones and snake before summoning the Clown Sea Serpent.
The summoned Clown Sea Serpent looked no different from a real person as it maintained its previous appearance. However, when he opened his mouth, he would reveal a tongue that looked like a snake’s tongue, letting people know that he was actually a little monster...
‘Well, seems like this is the 20% that defines him as a little monster then.
‘Good enough, it’s a pretty appropriate cover for him.’
After being summoned, the Clown Sea Serpent still looked calm and collected. His hair was long and messy and was wearing tattered clothes that were stained with blood. He raised his head and studied the surroundings curiously like a harmless homeless person.
However, Su Yang did not dare to underestimate him. Instead, he immediately instructed and said, “Clown Sea Serpent, go on and get a shower first, change into a fresh set of clothes and I’ll take you to the base overseas. You’ll be stationed there temporarily.”
The Clown Sea Serpent retracted its gaze and looked at Su Yang. There was a hint of a smile in its eyes before it replied obediently, “As you wish, my master.”
Truth be told, Su Yang did not like the expression the Clown Sea Serpent had.
This expression made him feel like the Clown Sea Serpent was mocking him, hinting at Su Yang that he was a fool...
The look in his eyes gave off a sense of superiority. It was as if Su Yang was just a mere child that he could easily coax.
