During the trip to Lingnan, the training was less than a week which was not considered to be long. Furthermore, it was a military themed movie so most of the film crew were male, hence Su Yang did not bring anyone with him.
After Pan Zhaodi bought the flight ticket for him, he assigned her to various tasks.
At the time, Little Deeny did not have a physical body, so Su Yang needed a spokesperson to handle the purchasing for the development of the artificial intelligence laboratory. Therefore, Pan Zhaodi was the only candidate that Su Yang could entrust the task with.
As for the others, it was even more impossible for Su Yang to bring them along. Tang Jing had to take care of Tang Xiaomi, and Chuxia... She had to help him apply for leave of absence.
Hence, on Thursday, Su Yang departed to Shanghai Airport lightly packed.
To Su Yang, the objective of that trip was basically to experience what driving a tank was like and could not even be considered a buggyiness trip. After all, he usually stayed in the virtual space, hence even if he were overseas, he could still return to the virtual space to sleep.
In fact, because everything he owned was inside the virtual space, it would not be inconvenient for him if he went overseas at all.
Furthermore, Little Deeny, Little Hus, Qing Zhu, and the other little monsters were all in the virtual space, so Su Yang would not have felt lonely since he had them to talk with.
As for the other little monsters such as Sanque, Pool and Bubbles, they stayed behind in Shanghai because they had work to do. Su Yang gave them the keys to Sixth Liu’s house so that they could stay there regularly.
On the other hand, Su Yang arranged for Gru and Dagger Girl to stay in his villa since the 2 of them and Tang Xiaomi hit it off right from the beginning. The three of them were taking advantage of the fact that Tang Jing was not at home everyday by fooling around in the house, almost to the point where they would have torn it down.
Furthermore, Su Yang had especially prepared a room for the both of them so that they could hide in that room whenever Tang Jing was at home.
They would be able to play around with Tang Xiaomi when Tang Jing was away.
That’s right... they’re hiding in the guestroom where Old Tungsten was...
Pan Zhaodi was the one who sent Su Yang off on his trip. She parked the Mercedes-Benz and led Su Yang in as she asked, “Mr. Su, do you really not need to bring any luggage?”
Su Yang shook his head. “It’s fine. I’ll buy whatever I need when I get there. Plus, It’ll only be a one week trip.”
Pan Zhaodi nodded.
After passing through the security check at the entrance, Pan Zhaodi retrieved the boarding pass for Su Yang and sent him to the security checkpoint.
Su Yang looked at the special first-class passage in front of him and looked at Pan Zhaodi in surprise. “First-class?”
Pan Zhaodi nodded her head. “Your status is now different from before, so you’ll need to be treated appropriately. After all, you’re representing the face of the corporation, so I booked first-class seats for you.”
Su Yang looked at Pan Zhaodi in surprise. There was no expression on Pan Zhaodi’s cold face. She looked like a competent secretary.
Su Yang was speechless. ‘Fine, I’ll let you do as you please since you’re the secretary. Plus. we do have a lot of money at the moment...’
It was the first time in his life that he took first-class and Su Yang had enjoyed the first-class treatment as well. Not only were there priority lanes during security checks, there was even a specialized transport after the security checks were completed.
That’s right, a specialized transport.
Shanghai International Airport was very large. After exiting the security checkpoint, it would take a long time to walk to the boarding gate or lounge. Therefore, Shanghai Airport had set up buggys within the airport especially to pick up their first-class passengers.
After passing the ticket to the driver, Su Yang got on the buggy. Under the envious gazes of the other passengers, he walked through the crowd and was sent to the first-class VIP lounge. ‘I could head to the lounge and get some rest since I’ve still got an hour before my plane boards.’
As he arrived at the VIP lounge, the staff behind the counter greeted warmly, “Hello, sir. May I have a look at your ticket please?”
Su Yang handed in his flight ticket for the staff to register him. Then, one of the staff walked out elegantly with a smile, her etiquette was on point as she guided Su Yang inside. “Mr. Su, please come this way.”
Under the guidance of the staff, Su Yang entered the lounge and stood next to a sofa.
He sat down and the staff asked, “Would you like something to drink, Mr. Su?”
Su Yang replied, “Water please.”
The staff nodded. “Sure, please wait a moment.”
She did not leave after saying that. Instead, she bent down and extended her hand to indicate towards the buffet area nearby. “Mr. Su, there are snacks, desserts, fruits and drinks over there, you’re welcomed to take anything else that you would like to have. Also, there will be a meal at 11:30 pm where there will be various dishes for you to take as you please as well.”
When she saw Su Yang nodding his head, she smiled and nodded again. Then, she stood up to get Su Yang some water.
While waiting for the water, Su Yang looked around the lounge. ‘There aren’t many people in here, most of the men are wearing suits while most of the women are gorgeously dressed.’ Then, he looked at himself...’Hmm, although I’m not wearing short sleeves and shorts, I still look pretty plain.
‘Normally, if things were to play according to script, someone is probably about to jump out and brag about, only to have their own faces slapped by me in the end. Then again, this is reality, not a television series, no one would possibly waste their time on a passerby.
‘Wouldn’t it be better for them to spend that time drinking their tea?’
The flow rate in the VIP lounge was huge. People were leaving by the minute, replaced by someone else.
This was the most common one out of hundreds of other lounges in Shanghai airport, hence there was nothing special about it.
Time continued to tick by and it was soon time for Su Yang to board the plane. During that 1 hour, Su Yang went to the buffet area to get 2 mini cream cakes, some fruits and a glass of warm milk. ‘I suppose... I’ve not wasted the expensive part of my flight ticket..’
When it was time to board the plane, there was an announcement to remind their customers to board the plane. Other than that, the staff member from before approached Su Yang and bent over to remind Su Yang, “Mr. Su, your plane is about to board. Would you like me to prepare a transport for you now?”
Su Yang nodded. “Yes, please.”
The staff smiled and nodded. “You’re welcome.”
When Su Yang left the lounge, the airport’s buggy was waiting for him again. Su Yang handed over his second ticket to the driver and got onto the buggy. This time, he was not the only one on the buggy, there were 2 other passengers who seemed to have been in the same VIP lounge as well.
The passenger consisted of a man and a woman. The woman had a small face and was quite cute. The man was taller and more handsome than Su Yang, Su Yang looked a little... Unpleasant when he looked at the man.
The 2 of them were obviously traveling together, but their relationship seemed a little weird. The woman kept talking to the man, but the man seemed to have been ignoring her most of the time.
Very soon, the buggy sent the three of them to the boarding gate. There was a long queue at the gate, many passengers were waiting to board the plane with their bags.
The arrival of the buggy attracted a lot of attention and the service staff at the boarding gate noticed the arrival of the buggy as well. Then, she lowered her head and said into the microphone, “Dear passengers, we would like to request for you to kindly be patient, we will be boarding immediately. As such, we would now like to invite our first-class passengers, Easy Own gold cardholders and Civil Aviation VIP cardholders to please come up to have your flight tickets checked please.”
As she said that, she broadcasted it twice more. The other passengers were not fools, they knew that Su Yang was definitely either a VIP or a first-class passenger based on the special treatment that he was receiving, so they all looked over towards him.
Even though there was not any hidden meaning behind their gazes, Su Yang still felt his face burning when so many people were looking at him. ‘This is really the first time a country bumpkin like me is receiving so much attention, I can’t get used to it yet.’
After his tickets had been checked, Su Yang was the first to enter the boarding gate. After a second check, Su Yang boarded the plane. All the air stewardesses on the plane smiled and greeted Su Yang.
Su Yang nodded politely and entered the cabin.
Su Yang’s seat was in the first row. Just as he found his seat and sat down, an air stewardess walked up to him. The air stewardess bent down and asked, “Mr. Su, am I right? Welcome aboard to Air Blue airlines. Would you like something to drink?”
Su Yang looked up at her. “What do you have?”
The air stewardess smiled and said, “We have orange juice, coffee, tea, water, etc.”
Su Yang thought for a moment. “I’ll have an orange juice please.”
The air stewardess smiled and nodded. “Sure.”
While the 2 of them were chatting, the man and woman boarded the plane as well. The 2 of them sat behind Su Yang, the same stewardess then went over to ask the same question.
Soon, the passengers in the economy class boarded the plane. Every passenger who boarded the plane would look at Su Yang the moment they entered the cabin.
Amongst them were passengers who were envious, jealous, curious, and much more, causing Su Yang’s face to turn slightly red again. However, this time, apart from feeling embarrassed, there was a slight hint of pride and superiority.
To alleviate his embarrassment, Su Yang took out Little Deeny from his pocket and surfed through the webpage, pretending not to notice the people who were looking at him.
When everyone had walked past him, Su Yang heaved a sigh of relief and his lips curled into a smile.
‘I’ve got to admit, this sense of superiority brought about by money can easily corrupt people...
‘Especially when I had travelled to the capital not long ago in economy class.
‘Therefore, I know very well what the normal boarding process is like. I also knew how wide and comfortable the seats are. Compared to the last time, this is a completely different treatment.
‘That’s why... Money really is a good thing.’
Just as he was thinking about this, the stewardess from earlier walked over as well. She was carrying a tray with a hot towel, pre-meal fruits, and orange juice.
She placed the items on the armrest of the first-class cabin and smiled at Su Yang. Then, she got up to prepare the same items for the other 2 passengers’.
Su Yang picked up the warm towel to wipe his hands before he took a sip of orange juice.
However, after drinking it, Su Yang felt a little regretful. ‘I thought that the orange juice in the first-class cabin would taste delicious, but I’ve obviously been overthinking it, it’s still a little sour and bitter...
‘Looks like money can’t buy everything after all...’
Other than the fact that Su Yang was a little afraid of flying, there were no turbulences or bumps throughout the journey, so nothing happened. This made Su Yang feel a little bored despite being at ease. ‘Where’s the hijacking? Where’s the flying mishap? Why aren’t any of these even happening?’
However, since none of what he thought of had happened, Su Yang had more time to discover the advantages of first-class. There were disposable slippers to wear on the plane and there was a difference in the food served between first and economy class. Moreover, during the flight, the curtains would be drawn so that they would not be disturbed which was amongst other advantages.
The most considerate thing that Su Yang thought was that when they were descending, the air stewardess would walk over, squat down and report to him the estimated time of arrival, the temperature and humidity at the destination.
Truth be told, Su Yang felt that the service was really comfortable. Hence, he asked the air stewardess out of curiosity, “Are you required to remember the names of all your first-class passengers?”
The stewardess shook her head with a smile. “We’ll only do this when there are only a few first-class passengers on board. We wouldn’t normally do this if there were many passengers. Furthermore, the requirements for each airline are different.”
All in all, Su Yang, who had never experienced such services before, knew the charm of money for the first time.
‘So... an ordinary person really can’t imagine how the rich lives...
‘This was a completely different experience compared to the first time I took a plane to the capital!’
When the plane landed, an announcement was made again to inform their first-class passengers to disembark first. Hence, Su Yang and the couple alighted one after another.
The 2 of them were still acting weird on the plane. The woman was still talking while the man remained silent. Su Yang once again suspected that the man might have been a mute.
After exiting the airport, the personnel that Wu Feng had arranged were already waiting by the roadside. A large sign board with “Wolf Warriors” written on it was erected there and a man with a shaved head who looked like a soldier was waiting there.
The treatment of first-class cabins was real. Shanghai airports were different from other airports. The quality of service for different airlines was also different.
