Back at the Imperial Capital, it was still the same familiar company. The Little Comparer was sitting in front of the computer, watching the news.
Ever since he returned from Jiadian, he had been paying attention to the box office of “Wandering Planet”.
When they watched “Wandering Planet” go from 500 million yuan to 1 billion yuan, to 2 billion yuan, and finally to 5 billion yuan, the Little Comparer was completely numb.
‘This is an absolute miracle.
‘Is the domestic film market really that big?
‘Didn’t the people of China not have any spending power? How do they have so much money to watch movies?
‘Moreover, is this record really created by a domestic movie?
‘It’s actually crushed the highest box office earnings of a Hollywood blockbuster by twice as much!’
Although it was not his own movie, the Little Comparer was still proud of it.
This led to him having the habit of refreshing the box office of “Wandering Planet” every morning.
Watching “Wandering Planet” break a new record every day, the Little Comparer felt like he had been injected with a shot of adrenaline!
He felt as if watching “Wandering Planet” was like watching a movie of his own.
They were all the same locally-produced unpopular genre. They were all big productions with the same special effects. No one thought highly of them. Yet, they were all beasts in the box office...
‘Right then, alright. “Wandering Planet” is my own movie... Cough, in my own fantasy.
‘However, this at least proves that I didn’t choose the wrong path.
It isn’t that there are no audiences in China, but that there are no decent movies. As long as I work hard to produce “Nezha”, I believe that there will definitely be audiences who would like it!
‘However... It seems like there’s no point in fighting alone. Forget the fact that I won’t have both money and manpower, the excitement would already be greatly reduced.’
At the thought of this, the Little Comparer could not help but think of Guo Fan, Jiadian Group, and the recent “Wolf Warriors 2”.
‘It seems that after working with Guo Fan, Jiadian Group has collaborated with Wu Feng to make another explosive project...
‘Based on the feedback from various sources, “Wolf Warriors 2” is definitely going to exceed 2 billion yuan.
‘Jiadian Group is really a miracle!
‘Should I talk to them to see if I can join them?
‘I should take the chance and grab onto this huge benefactor now. If I succeed, I wouldn’t need to save money and slowly produce the special effects. I heard that Jiadian Group has an artificial intelligence algorithm that makes these amazing special effects. It might just save me a lot of effort.
‘Recently, when I produced the special effects for Shen Gongbao’s leopard, I got so worried about it that my hair all turned white...’
At the thought of this, the Little Comparer could not take it anymore. He picked up the phone and called Guo Fan. He wanted to talk to Guo Fan first and see if he could introduce him to Su Yang...
Time flew by, and soon, the summer vacation arrived. The university students went on vacation first, followed by the students in primary and secondary schools.
As the annual holiday, the children’s happiest holiday period was also the biggest box office period for domestic movies.
However, compared to the previous years of competition, that year, there was a movie that had shown the potential of a box office monster. It stood there, suppressing all the movies until they could not breathe, and there was no intention of competing.
During this period of time, as time passed, the ticketing sales for “Wolf Warriors 2” also increased. In the end, it actually hit 700 million yuan!
700 million yuan!
The pre-sales tickets hit 700 million yuan!
What a terrifying number!
Last year, “Wolf Warriors 2” was only ranked 15th at the box office with 700 million yuan.
No one doubted that “Wolf Warriors 2′′‘s box office would surpass the previous series. The only question now was how much it would surpass. Also... Could it reach the level that Su Yang was bragging about?
Whether it was within the industry or outside, everyone was patiently waiting for “Wolf Warriors 2” to be released. They wanted to see whether Su Yang and Wu Feng would ascend to godhood, or fall from their thrones.
A 5 billion yuan box office movie, “Wandering Planet”, made the two of them award-winning partners. And if “Wolf Warriors 2” was successful that time, the two of them would surpass King Xu Huang’s Golden Triangle and become the most popular duo in the country.
At the same time, he would become the first actor in the country whose box office earnings exceeded 10 billion yuan!
Perhaps Su Yang did not care about this data, but the people in the industry did. After all, this was a great honor...
One had to know that domestic actors had never achieved such results before. Before Wu Feng and Su Yang appeared, the highest box office was only Huang Bo and the rest’s 5 billion yuan box office.
And now, Su Yang and Wu Feng have doubled that number.
Whether it was for them or the entire film industry, this was a huge matter!
This represented the expansion of the domestic film market and also the rise of domestically-produced movies!
Therefore, everyone was waiting to see the results of “Wolf Warriors 2” being released!
On July 12, “Wolf Warriors 2” was officially released.
It was summer vacation and also a weekend, so it was time for the family to reunite.
In an ordinary residential area in Shanghai, a family of three had just finished breakfast.
After breakfast, his mother was clearing the table, and his father was reading the newspaper. Their child, a fat boy, was playing with his phone, but from the way he kept glancing at his parents, he was obviously distracted.
Sure enough, after a while, the little fatty gulped and asked tentatively, “Dad, Mom, I want to go out and play today.”
Before the mother could say anything, the father looked up at the child from the newspaper and said, “You want to go out to play the moment holidays begin?
“Where do you want to go?”
The little fatty said, “I plan to watch a movie.”
His father looked at him. “A movie? Have you finished your homework?”
The little fatty quickly explained, “Dad, this movie is called “Wolf Warriors 2′′, which Su Yang is the main star in. I heard that it’s a patriotic movie. The school requested us to watch it.”
His father did not doubt the little fatty’s words. He pondered for a moment. ‘”Wolf Warriors 2′′? Su Yang? I seem to have some impression of him.’
He recalled for a while, then slapped his thigh and said, “Oh right! I remember now! It’s that national hero, right? First, he beat up the Japanese, then rented dozens of planes to bring our fellow countrymen back!”
The little fatty nodded his head like a sieve. “Yes, yes, yes! That’s him! “Wolf Warriors 2′′ is also a patriotic movie! That’s why I want to be influenced by patriotism!”
The little fatty said it very well, but actually...
He had arranged to go to the movies with a cute girl from his class. These high-sounding excuses were all used to fool his father.
His father did not know that his son was trying to trick him. When he heard his son say that, he thought for a moment before saying, “Sure. You can watch this movie. After you’re done, write a review and let me have a look at it.”
The little fatty’s face instantly fell.
‘Writing a review after watching a movie? Are you serious? Which era does this “tradition” even come from?’
But the thought that he could go on a date with the cute little girl in his class made him grit his teeth and stomp his feet. In the end, he accepted it...
‘At least I get to go on my date!’
Just as he was thinking that, his father added, “If you didn’t mention it, I wouldn’t have noticed this movie.”
Then, his father looked at his watch and said, “It just so happens that I have nothing to do today. Let’s go watch the movie together. Let’s accept the influence of patriotism together. Haha.”
After saying that, he ignored the little fatty and asked his wife directly, “What about it, Honey? Do you want to go and watch it together?”
The woman obviously liked family activities, so she nodded gently. “Sure, let’s go watch it together.”
The little fatty was speechless.
“Crack!”.
Something seemed to have broken...
This family in Shanghai was like a microcosm of many families. Although not every brat wanted to go on a date, there were still quite a number of parents who felt that such movies had a certain educational value. They also wanted to interact with their children during the holidays, so they decided to watch “Wolf Warriors 2” together.
This brought “Wolf Warriors 2” a lot of box office earnings.
Of course, if it were just them, the box office earnings for “Wolf Warriors 2” wouldn’t be particularly high. However, don’t forget that these were all viewers who didn’t usually watch movies.
Other than them, there were also many young people watching the movie!
The majority of this group were young people. They were relatively young and had lived in the rich and powerful phase of the country since they were young. They had a strong sense of belonging to their country and a strong sense of honor. Coupled with the recent popular evacuation of the Chinese’s incident, they formed groups or went to the cinema to watch “Wolf Warriors 2”.
Other than these ordinary audiences, there were also quite a number of people in the industry who walked into the cinema with the attitude of “learning”, “researching”, and “picking on”. Thus, they went to watch the premiere of “Wolf Warriors 2”.
With so many movie-goers, it directly led to too many audiences wanting to watch “Wolf Warriors 2”. Even though the movie theaters kept increasing the number of screenings, it was still difficult to get a ticket to watch “Wolf Warriors 2” on its first day of screening.
The venue was full! The corner was filled with people!
This was the grand occasion for “Wolf Warriors 2”!
With the reputation of “Wandering Planet” and the addition of the evacuation incident, plus Su Yang and Wu Feng acting together, “Wolf Warriors 2” exploded!
As the movie played, the audience soon finished watching the movie.
After watching this movie, the average audience only had one word to say: Awesome!
Actually, “Wolf Warriors 2” did not have much depth to it. To put it bluntly, this was just a popcorn movie. But it was just... Exciting, simple, and refreshing!
Coupled with the addition of the feeling of home country, it raised the atmosphere and made the movie feel better.
It made people feel excited just by looking at it. They were so excited that they wanted to shout, “I still want to be Chinese in my next life!”
Compared to the audience, the people in the industry were more rational, but they were also... More shocked.
After reading it, their minds went blank.
The laymen watched the show, while the professionals watched the show. Some viewers with some experience might feel that the movie was lacking in depth. It should be easy to film, but only those in the film industry knew how outstanding the movie was.
A heavy sword without a sharp edge was too much of a coincidence!
They fit perfectly.
It was totally a Hollywood action movie!
Be it the switching of the camera, the sharpness of the editing, or the impact of the punches, they were all things that domestic movies could not compare to.
This was an action movie that was outstanding even in Hollywood.
The effect of the movie was especially shocking.
After watching the movie, the people in the industry began to savor it. Everything about this movie was not bad. The script was good, the actors were good, the director was good, but more importantly, the editing was good.
There were no flashy tricks. It was just the simplest editing, but it explained the story clearly, showed the effects of the scene to the extreme, and shaped the plot to the extreme. This was definitely a master editor!
Moreover, he was a master editor who could make a movie’s effects increase by nearly half, turning something rotten into something magical!
At the thought of this, many people in the industry paid special attention to the list of editors.
Then, they saw... Su Yang’s name.
‘Su Yang...
‘He’s the editor?
‘If I recall...
‘He’s also the one who edited “Wandering Planet” and “Wolf Warriors”, right?’
At that moment, the people in the circle who were paying attention suddenly understood something. ‘No wonder Wu Feng likes working with Su Yang.
‘Not only is Su Yang an outstanding actor, but he also has editing, production, and directing skills. He’s like the full package in filming!
‘Who wouldn’t want to work with such a person?’
At that moment, many people in the industry wanted to collaborate with Su Yang.
After all, this person was too much of a bug. As long as he was on their side, all that was left was to film the movie, and there would be nothing else to worry about.
Actually, most of the time, the opinions of people in the industry did not represent normal audiences. However, the reason why a masterpiece was called a masterpiece was because it could make everyone feel its charm!
And “Wolf Warriors 2” was such a movie!
Regardless of whether it was a professional or a normal audience, after they saw it, they could not help but praise it. They felt that it had captured the power of the country in the world. It was a good shot, and it was good enough! They hoped to watch it again!
Those who watched first did not affect the audience’s interest.
The explosion of the movie’s reputation, large-scale publicity, and stimulation of the incident directly brought “Wolf Warriors 2′′‘s first-day box office earnings to an astonishing 600 million yuan.
It reached the top of the domestic box office rankings.
And, it also broke the record for “Wandering Planet”!
In the next few days, even though the momentum of “Wolf Warriors 2” had slowed down a little, it was still as ferocious as ever. 530 million yuan, 470 million yuan, 410 million yuan, it was sliding down very slowly.
This did not mean that the quality of the movie was not good, or that its potential was not good. It was because of the inevitable visual cohesion effect brought about by large-scale promotions.
In other words, there were too many promotions at the beginning, and too many people were watching the premiere, so there was no way to push it up anymore. It could only slow down.
And as expected, “Wolf Warriors 2” showed a steady trend for the next week. After dropping 400 million yuan, it stabilized at around 250 million yuan for the remaining three days of the second week.
On the weekend of the second week, it rose again, reaching 400 million yuan. The next Sunday, it was even higher. 430 million yuan.
In a total of nine days, “Wolf Warriors 2” had already bagged a staggering 3.6 billion yuan in just two weeks!
A true box office monster had appeared out of nowhere! And it had completely surpassed “Wandering Planet” during summer break.
