Chapter 243 Special Item. Fake 50% Probability Light Rocket Launcher
Su Yang felt the entire kitchen floor shake a few times. Even the tiles were broken a few times. He especially wanted to ask. ‘Is there no compensation for this kind of violent renovation?’
As he spat, Su Yang looked at the gigantic thing that appeared out of nowhere. It was a homogeneous green, old-looking, austere, and majestic rocket launcher. Two wheels in the back and four rockets in front, pointing straight to the sky.
Su Yang was not expecting a real rocket launcher to appear, thinking instead that it’d be a model at most. In the end, an actual rocket launcher appeared. He circled the rocket launcher and tsked. Living in an era of peace, he had never seen such a thing.
If it wasn’t for the fact that the system’s prompt hadn’t come out yet, he would’ve been tempted to touch it for fear of danger. After all, every man had a dream of launching a rocket!
[Moving the (Small Bench That Refuses To Eat Melons] out and sitting next to this rocket launcher, a pile of food and drink appeared under his feet. Su Yang grabbed a handful of melon seeds and handed them to Little Hus who looked lost next to him. “Here, eat some.”
Little Hus gave Su Yang a husky stare. “Fooling me into cracking open melon seeds for you again! You cruel exploiter!”
Su Yang was extremely thick-skinned and didn’t care in the slightest. “Just a coincidence, that’s what it is. A coincidence! Randomly grabbing melon seeds that is.”
Little Hus glared at Su Yang. “As if I’d believe in you, damn it. Why don’t you give me a slice of watermelon!”
Su Yang was busy eating the melon seeds as he replied, “It’s not like you can’t eat watermelons.”
Little Hus’s eyes were about to roll up to the sky. “Exactly! I can’t eat melon seeds either!”
Su Yang smiled heedlessly. “But you can crack them open.”
Little Hus was speechless. “Su Yang! Be a decent person!”
Su Yang pouted grumpily.
While cracking open his melon seeds, he waited patiently for the system prompt to come out on the rocket launcher.
Finally, five minutes later, the system interface on the rocket launcher popped up.
[(107mm Light Rocket Launcher +1. Special ability. “Fake 50% Probability Light Rocket Launcher”].
‘50% probability? What the hell is this? And if it’s already 50% probability, why is it fake?’
Su Yang muddled and clicked on that ability when suddenly, the description of the ability appeared in front of him.
[(Fake 50% Probability Light Rocket Launcher]
Abilities: You can fire it any way you choose, and every shell it fires has a 50% chance of firing a real shell. The remaining 50% chance will shoot surprise items, like candy.
Limitations: Each time you fire a rocket, it’ll cost you 10 point coins!
Note 1. Life is full of surprises, yo. Wanna try a candy bar or a rocket?!
Note 2. When the rocket goes off, it’s like ten thousand taels of gold!
“Huh? It’s a 50-50 chance, right? Why is it called fake?’
Su Yang felt that it must be related to an additional ability or talent.
Surely enough, when he clicked on the item description, he found a new additional talent. [Additional Talent. Fake-Probability]
Talent: All abilities involving probabilities for this item are changed to fake-probability.
Note. Isn’t this a lot easier to manipulate?
‘Fake-probability? What’s this?’.
Su Yang called out an interface, looked at it, and found that the original probability was divided into real probability and fake probability.
Quasi-probability was exactly according to probabilistic laws. For example, if you toss a coin, there’s a 50% probability for a positive result and a 50% probability for a negative result. After you’ve tossed the coin 100 times in a row and got positive, your next toss still has a 50% probability of being positive. Because each event is mutually exclusive, the probability is the same and does not change based on the previous outcome.
Fake-probability, on the other hand, is a pre-determined probability commonly used in games. Still using the coin toss example, you’d theoretically get one positive and one negative in two throws because there’s a 50% probability for both positive and negative results.
So when you toss a positive the first time, the second time must be negative because the probability is 50%.
‘So this rocket becomes a lot more controllable.
‘Because if the first shot is a rocket, then the second time must be a surprise. If the first time is a surprise, then the second time must be a rocket...
“The third time of course continues to be random, and the fourth time will be the opposite of the third time.
‘Well...
‘It’s really easy to control...
‘But what’s the point!’
Su Yang looked at the rocket launcher in front of him but of course, he wasn’t going to bombard anyone!
‘Forget it, it’s not wise to leave it in the kitchen, let’s carry it outside first.’
So, Su Yang and Little Hus pushed the rocket launcher into the courtyard.
Looking at the fog outside the courtyard, Su Yang suddenly thought, why not give it a shot?
‘But 10 point coins...’
After thinking about it, Su Yang felt that he’d still like to test it out. Even if it was just a test for fun, it’d still feel good!
Su Yang shook the rocket launcher and pointed it at the sky outside the courtyard, rubbed his hands, and sent a fierce kick toward the rocket launcher’s ass as he shouted, “Fire!”
A prompt appeared in front of him. (Point Coins – 10).
As the prompt popped up, the rocket launcher began to glow as the four barrels became increasingly shorter but thicker at the same time.
Finally, it launched. “Boom!” The rocket launcher erupted violently as the the entire weapon roared and shook. The base of the rocket launcher reared back and stirred up a ring of dust as four barrels spewed flames while four black shells whistled into the air!
Su Yang was so shocked by the deafening sound that he took a few steps back, fanning the dust in front of him, shocked at the scene in front of him!
‘Is this a modern thermal weapon? This is what it looks like when it is fired?’
The little monsters in the house heard the terrible roar and looked over one by one. Deeny even opened the window and shouted, “Master! Are you okay?!”
Just as she shouted, four shells flew into the air and then exploded loudly. “Boom!” The sound of colorful ribbons floating down from the sky and many pieces of 100 yuan notes bursting in the air!
There was also a line of words in pink where it exploded in the air. “Surprise!”
Su Yang was stunned as he looked at the RMB notes flying around in the sky.
‘Is this a dream come true? ‘Is it like the legendary saying where they say it’s raining money?’ After being dumbfounded for a moment, Su Yang finally came to his senses as he yelled, “Pick up the money!”
With that, he whirled and dashed off!
As he picked up the pieces of 100 yuan notes, Su Yang felt like his life had been made complete!
Holding a huge pile of money in his arms, Su Yang shed two streams of tears from excitement.
In the end, Su Yang had collected a big bag of money with the help of the little monster beans.
Little Deeny was stunned as she came downstairs. She looked at Su Yang, her mouth wide open. “Master, what was that!”
Su Yang counted the money happily and replied casually, “Maybe it’s an illusion.”
Little Deeny was speechless.
“Master, can you stop being so money-crazy? It’s not like I’m going to rob you.”
Su Yang was now laughing so hard that he couldn’t close his mouth. He looked at Little Deeny and laughed so hard that he was about to show the teeth in the back of his mouth. “I’m not money-crazy. I just happen to like this kind of money that falls from the sky!”
“My lifelong dream is to get rich!”
Little Deeny was speechless. “Master, can this rocket launcher shoot money like this every time?”
Su Yang’s hand stopped there, he thought about the previous system’s commentary, it seemed to say that it would shoot candy. Since the launcher shot out money instead of an actual rocket, there’s probably a chance that a big explosion could be next!
However, it didn’t matter! What a joy to get so much money out of the blue!
So Su Yang waved his hand. “Whatever. There’s so much money anyway!”
Finally, Su Yang counted all the money they collected with Deeny’s help. There was 580,000 yuan.
A horrifying number.
‘Just one shot and I got 588,000?!’
‘For 588,000 yuan, all I spent was 10 coins? This is so worth it!’
Now, Su Yang felt like this rocket launcher had become the baby in the family!
‘What if it shoots out money every single time? If that’s the case, I’m willing to be its baby!’
Happily, Su Yang went to the kitchen and fetched a basin of water. Then, he gave the rocket launcher a good rub down. As he did that, Su Yang said, “Ah. Such a good item... If only you appeared earlier.”
Little Deeny massaged her temples. She didn’t know what else to say to this money crazy master of hers.
After polishing the rocket, Su Yang rubbed his hands and thought. ‘Should we launch the rocket two more times?’
‘Men are so greedy...’
If anyone was wondering why he’d want to shoot it twice, it was because the second time was going to be an actual rocket and he wanted to see if he could get it to shoot money again! Thinking along that line of thought, Su Yang kicked at the rocket launcher’s butt once again. “Fire!”
(Point Coin – 10).
On that cue, the rocket launcher’s body glowed once again as the four barrels grew increasingly shorter and thicker at the same time, again!
Then, it launched. “Boom!”
The four black shells whistled into the air and shot into the fog before finally exploding. “Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!”
As it exploded, the layer of dark clouds seemed to awaken as explosions violently went off within them. As the shells exploded, the explosion seemed to have enveloped everything as the bombs lit up the sky almost instantaneously before everything went up in smoke!
Looking at the scene in the sky, Su Yang wondered. ‘What was that in the sky? What’s this pocket dimension?’
These problems could not be solved in a short time so Su Yang fired the rocket launcher for the third time!
With the third roar of the rocket launcher, the shells exploded in the sky before another pink ‘Surprise!’ sign appeared! Along with that sign, a lot of carrots appeared!
The sky started raining carrots. Su Yang was stunned.
‘Sigh... It wasn’t that great after all...’
Su Yang thought that today’s luck would be overwhelming and he’d be able to receive money every time.
After the rocket launcher shot out a pile of carrots, Su Yang was in no mood to clean up so he directly gave orders to the little monster beans to clean up the carrots while he went back to the living room to rest.
When he arrived at the living room, Pan Zhaodi’s labrador, Eggy was already awake.
Seeing Su Yang, it woke up and rubbed its head against him!
Su Yang patted its head. “Go over there.”
However, Egg ignored his orders and pestered him as if he was its master.
Su Yang was annoyed by it and yelled, “Little Hus!”
Little Hus appears in response while holding a dog’s tail, attempting to tie it to its body.
Su Yang was speechless.
“What are you doing?”
Little Hus quickly hid the dog’s tail as it replied, “No, nothing.”
Su Yang pressed on. “You look like you’re hiding something.”
Su Yang activated (Heaven’s Eyes) and looked at Little Hus. In that instant, he automatically got a message in his head. It was lying.
‘Hah!’ He didn’t need the system to tell him that. As if it wasn’t clear enough. Little Hus had the words ‘I’m lying’ written all over its face!
Su Yang asked, “What’s this dog doing and why does it keep pestering me?”
Ha looked at Eggy, and they whined. “Oooh~~” They were barking and communicating
Little Hus finally said, “He wants to go for a walk. The house is too small.”
‘Uh. A walk...’
Su Yang’s (Gaze) ability didn’t detect that Little Hus was lying, so was probably true.
Su Yang looked at the time and it was only 10 a.m. There’s time so let’s take it for a walk.’ He could use a walk himself. Su Yang tied the leash on it and used the (Unknown Sticky Note) to make a muzzle appear before he left the house.
The first time Su Yang walked the dog, he was still very worried that the dog would run away, or if he’d be able to catch it if it ran off. He had heard that a lot of people initially set out to walk their dogs, but ended up getting tugged forward by them when the dogs got too excited and ran ahead of them. Would he end up like one of those people?
After that, Su Yang realized that he was thinking too much. Eggy was a lazy bum!
It had been walking with steps so small that even Su Yang was walking faster than it!
By the end of the day, Su Yang was tugging on the rope to pull it forward. Even then, the dog still resisted, looking like it wanted to stop and rest.
After doing the same thing for half an hour, Su Yang felt like he was getting exhausted. It was a wonder if dragging a big fat dog that weighs dozens of pounds wouldn’t be exhausting!
Su Yang suspected that the dog probably ran away the day it disappeared to hide and laze around.
The two times he went to Sixth Liu’s house, this dog probably just silently stayed in the bedroom.
Su Yang reasoned with it, “If you don’t want to move, why did you ask to come out here?!”
Eggy looked at Su Yang. “O000000h-“
Su Yang was speechless.
“Could this dog be a fake dog? Why does it bark like that... Ooooh? Don’t other dogs bark like... Woof?’
Su Yang grabbed its face. “Can you bark?”
Eggy looked at Su Yang. “Oooh...”
Su Yang was speechless. ‘C’mon. Silly dog! Really, a dog dumber than Little Hus?!’
Just as Su Yang was berating this silly dog raised by Pan Zhaodi, he suddenly felt a bunch of eyes observing him from behind.
It was a wonderful feeling. It was as if he had an eye growing behind him and could see a man wearing a trench coat and sunglasses while hiding behind a tree that was carefully watching him.
[Su Yang knew that this was the (Perception] ability granted to him by (Heaven’s Eyes)!
‘Who’s that guy? Why was he observing me?’ He wasn’t accidentally looking at Su Yang. If he didn’t mean to observe Su Yang, Su Yang wouldn’t be able to perceive him.
While Su Yang was pondering, an image suddenly appeared in front of him. It was a spacious and airy office. A man in a suit was standing behind the desk, and in front of him was a beautiful looking woman.
“Young Master Ying, Su Yang’s school is on its last day of classes tomorrow. He should be there.”
“Tomorrow, is it? Okay. I got it.”
‘Young Master Ying?’ Su Yang frowned. ‘This bad guy is too much! How dare he spy on me and try to cause me trouble?’
Just as Su Yang was thinking this, the image disappeared. Su Yang realized later that he didn’t realize when the person looking at him left. He turned around in a hurry and saw no one behind him.
Su Yang dragged Eggy to the tree. However, with the almost worthless nose on the dog, he couldn’t find a clue.
‘Who was the person just now?’
Su Yang hesitated. ‘Was it the murderer who hurt Wang Shan and Liu Na?’
The next day, on Monday. The last day of the freshman course.
Even though he sensed the image of Young Master Ying yesterday, Su Yang still went to school. There was always a solution to every problem! Su Yang had yet to feel any fear for anyone else, yet!
After arriving in class, he saw that many students had already arrived. They were all chattering and chatting, all smiles on their faces. Every student loved the holidays, even those who excelled in their studies.
Last night, Li Runze even chatted with Su Yang, happy that the holidays were finally here.
Su Yang was very confused. For a top student like Li Runze, shouldn’t school be enjoyable instead? Why would he look forward to the holidays?
Then, Li Runze told Su Yang why he was a top student and why Su Yang was a superficial student.
[The things that the teachers teach are too superficial. You might as well study on your own. I’m studying something related to artificial intelligence now, and I’m almost going to have a breakthrough. I just don’t have the time.)]
[Now that I’m on vacation, I can finally try it out.]
Uh... Su Yang felt like he knew nothing about the world of top academicians.
There was no class today. It was just the class teacher and guidance counselor giving a speech about something about the holiday before informing the students about next semester’s class schedules.
Soon, the morning passed.
Su Yang went out and walked just a short distance out of the school building before runninginto Qu Xiaomeng.
Qu Xiaomeng seemed to have finished his classes and was happily heading out. Su Yang said, “Why do you look so happy? Have you found someone to date?”
Qu Xiaomeng had an unapologetic look as she looked at Su Yang. “Do you believe that you failed even English?!”
Su Yang spread out his hands. “I don’t believe it.”
How could he? He had already received news of his results being uploaded so how could he believe it?
Qu Xiaomeng was helpless when it came to Su Yang’s thick skin.
While they were chatting, Su Yang sensed a pair of eyes looking over from afar. It was Chu Xia.
Sure enough, ten seconds later, she ran over panting. “Su Yang!”
Su Yang looked at her. “What’s up?”
Chu Xia took a few breaths and greeted Qu Xiaomeng first. “Sister Qu.”
Qu Xiaomeng replied with concern, “Are you okay? Calm down.”
Chu Xia smiled and took a few breaths, then poked Su Yang and whispered, “Why are you walking so fast, are you going on a date?” Su Yang shook his head. “Nope. Just... Class is over, and I’m leaving.”
Chu Xia felt that what Su Yang said sounded reasonable so she asked, “Are you free this afternoon?”
Su Yang initially thought like he had time so he was about to reply. However, he suddenly heard a familiar female voice nearby. “Su Yang, I’ve been waiting for you.” When Su Yang turned his head, he found Xu Lu standing in the shade opposite the tree.
Although the back of his head was facing Chu Xia, Su Yang could still perceive Chu Xia’s slightly haunting eyes looking at him from behind. Those eyes seemed like they could speak. It was as if they were saying, “Didn’t you say you didn’t have a date.”
Su Yang was speechless.
He wasn’t going on a date! How did he know she was waiting for him...
Xu Lu elegantly walked over, looked at Chu Xia, nodded, and said to Su Yang, “Su Yang, are you free now? I’ve been waiting for you. I wanted to talk to you.”
Su Yang was speechless.
He could feel Chu Xia’s glare getting increasingly sharper. Why did it feel like there was a bit of cold sweat on his own back... Was it an illusion?
Su Yang coughed and was just about to let Xu Lu speak.
However, it was then that a blue Ferrari suddenly appeared, slowly driving in from the entrance of the school. It drove forward along the road, stopping just shy of where Su Yang was standing in full view of everyone there.
