Chapter 324 Little Deeny’s Little Request For The Boss To Come Visit!
The Communist Party of China (CPC) posted on their Weibo. [At this moment, we’re proud that China is able to produce such an enterprise.]
That simple comment settled the matter.
Along with that comment, many companies took the opportunity to repost that comment for the Find Me app along with their own message.
“Congratulations!”
“Congratulations-“
“We look forward to seeing you represent China’s Al industry on the international market and into the world!”
All these and more were posted.
Nobody was a fool. They knew fairly well the kind of pressure and test the Find Me app had to endure through the past 24 hours to get where they were. Regular folk may be in the dark but those in the industry knew of the trials and tribulations they went through.
They knew because the technical team for technology and internet companies were constantly testing the FInd Me app to look for illegal content and loopholes.
At times, they even stumbled upon other people who were doing the same thing they were when they took a look at each other’s IP addresses. (Yo, you guys are here as well!)
However, the Find Me app was like an iron wall. It was like were being asked to check whatever they wanted and if they found anything, then the Find Me app would lose. They could even attempt to post any illegal content and the Find Me app would still consider it a loss if they managed to post it.
This completely open and fearless attitude was the most shocking. They weren’t afraid of people checking them out or how their competitors were acting. At the end of the line, nobody could find a single shred of illegal content. That was the most shocking fact of all.
For example, someone from the technical department of Alibaba found that the screening tech behind the Find Me app was at least five years ahead of other domestic companies.
Five years was strong evidence of their power. After all, it was now the boom of the technological era. Technology would advance by leaps and bounds each year and being judged to be five years ahead just showed how far ahead the Find Me app was compared to the rest in the industry.
Since their domestic technology companies seemed to be at the forefront of the world, wouldn’t that mean that the company that owns the Find Me app was already a world leader in this regard?
That though shocked a number of domestic tech companies.
They initially wanted to compare it with foreign AI software but realized that both were rather different.
Foreign AI tech was usually used to simulate games of Go so it wasn’t really a good time for comparison. After all, nobody knew if an AI who was able to screen every last bit of information or one that could beat every other player in the world at a game of Go was better.
However, there were some who had their doubts. “Where did the technology for the Find Me app come from? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a company with such an amazing tech guy. Rather, it seems like nobody within the tech community has ever heard of a company with these kinds of capabilities. Even...”
That was the moment they began paying attention to the company behind the Find Me app. “Jiadian Technology?”
They dug further and discovered that Jiadian Technology was a very new company and the owner didn’t seem to be an industry insider.
However, this boss was someone very familiar to them. It was Su Yang, the grumpy elder brother who took on the internet all by himself.
Since business registration information was available openly online, they could easily find Su Yang’s businesses. He had a dairy tea store, a tech company, a movie company, a talent agency and a healthcare company.
This had nothing to do with artificial intelligence or technology! “Is there even such a thing?!”
“That’s just too weird!”
“Is this person just a name-dropper? Are there other people behind him?”
However, after seeing how tough Su Yang was on Weibo, they felt like it wasn’t the case.
With that, the Find Me app, Jiadian Technology and Su Yang became a hot object of discussion on the tech scene on the internet. Everyone was curious about the kind of person and company that managed to pull off such a feat.
However, Su Yang totally disregarded these things because Little Deeny had finally recovered!
When he entered the virtual space, Su Yang looked at the pale Little Deeny and gave her a heartfelt hug. “Do you want to eat something? I’ll make it for you.”
Faced with the rare tenderness from Su Yang, Little Deeny shook her head. “Master, you forgot. I can’t eat.”
‘Oh.... Right. Within the household, only Bubbles, Janet, and I actually consume food. The other little monsters don’t need to eat.
Su Yang offered again. “I’ll give you a massage then!”
A slight blush appeared on Little Deeny’s pale face as she nodded slightly, replying in a voice as soft as a mosquito’s buzzing, “Alright.”
Su Yang didn’t think much about it since Little Deeny... was a cellphone!
As he pressed a button on Little Deeny, he asked, “What do you think about the battle you just fought?”
At the mention of the war against the entire internet, Little Deeny’s eyes lit up as she said, “Master! I feel like my AI prototype’s data collection capabilities has improved by leaps and bounds! It’s just...
Su Yang asked, “Just what?”
Little Deeny’s gaze seemed a bit bleak, “It’s just that it’s actually always relying on my hardware and isn’t strictly a prototype. After all, no one knows if it can still operate independently from me, so I want to buy servers and build an artificial intelligence lab.”
Su Yang was speechless.
‘Why does this thing sound like it costs a lot of money?’
Su Yang coughed. “How much?”
Little Deeny carefully extended a finger.
Su Yang let out a sigh of relief. “100,000? Okay, no problem.”
Little Deeny corrected him. “T-te... Ten million.”
Su Yang was speechless
He began feeling like he couldn’t afford a child like this.
‘Does anybody want a kid? You can have one for free!
‘Other kids play with things that cost tens or hundreds of dollars, but she wants something that’s going to cost me 10 million!
‘Do you think I’m the richest man in the world?!’
Looking at Little Deeny’s expectant eyes, Su Yang sighed and touched her head. “Be good. You’ve had a long day. Get some sleep. You’ll have everything you want after you get some sleep.”
Little Deeny pouted when she heard that but she immediately fell asleep the moment she laid on the sofa.
Within two minutes of her lying on the sofa, he could hear her gentle breath as her body rose and fell. Su Yang stood up, went to the courtyard, looked at the distorted mist in the sky and pondered for a long time.
In the end, he still decided that he wanted to make money!
Although he just made fun of Little Deeny, he knew in his heart that she wasn’t joking. She truly wanted to conduct more research into the field of AI.
If he was putting it simply, his investment would help improve the core competencies of the technology stack in his company. If he was being generous, his investment would be for the benefit of the country, its people, and the world!
So, as Little Deeny’s ‘parent’, he knew that he couldn’t afford to be poor to his child no matter how financially strained he was. If his child wanted 10 million for research, he’d have to work hard to earn that money!
“Just in time, I guess. The goal of my Silver Mission is to earn 10 million! ‘It feels like the mission was given to me just for her!
‘Well, at least I know where the money is going to go after completing my Silver Mission...’
Just when Su Yang was thinking about this, the phone suddenly rang in the courtyard. Su Yang called up a virtual interface to check and realized that there were many people who had been trying to get a hold of him in the past 24 hours including Chu Xia, Li Zijun, Wang Dong, and.... the driving school instructor.
When he saw the call from the instructor of the driving school, Su Yang realized something. ‘Did I forget to take the exam?!
‘It’s over, my driver’s license test is going to be delayed!’
However, the call this time was not from the four of them. Instead, it was from a strange number.
Su Yang picked it up, and a very refined man’s voice came from the other side of the phone, “Hello, is this Mr. Su Yang?”
As the man said his name, an image appeared in front of Su Yang’s eyes. It was a very familiar office with an equally familiar sitting behind the desk.
He was white and clean, looked very gentle and was wearing a pair of gold-framed glasses in front of his narrow eyes. It was Mr. Jia.
He was wearing a stiff suit that didn’t even have a single wrinkle in his clothes. His hair was combed to the back and had a shiny finish. ‘He looked like a beast of a man in that style of clothing. Bah, he looks like a gentleman! ‘Why did Mr. Jia call me?’
Su Yang questioned without moving, “Hello. Who are you?”
Mr. Jia’s expression in the picture did not change. He was looking at a document on the table as he replied, “Here’s the deal. I’m the lawyer hired by your secretary to negotiate with Director Wang.”
“This time, I’m calling to make an appointment to meet with you and talk about the details. When do you think you’ll have
time?”
Su Yang was brainstorming a little but immediately felt like something was wrong. ‘Did he really need to talk to me personally for such a small thing? Neither he nor I have so much time on our hands, right?
‘What about my secretary, Pan Zhaodi? Since when was she given the responsibility of handling Director Wang?
Su Yang asked, “Which of my secretaries?”
Because the time was up, Mr. Jia’s picture disappeared but his voice was still ringing in Su Yang’s ear through the phone, “It was Deeny Su. Secretary Su.”.
‘If Little Deeny claimed to be my secretary, then the whole issue could be explained. However, him asking for a meeting with me privately still seems a little weird.
‘Is there something I don’t know?
‘I guess only Little Deeny knows since she was the one who contacted him.’
Looking at her sleeping on the sofa so soundly after pulling an all-nighter, Su Yang was reluctant to wake her up. “I have some things to do today. It’s not convenient to talk about this at the moment so let’s talk about it tomorrow.”
Mr. Jia replied, “Okay.”
With Mr. Jia’s confirmation, Su Yang hung up the phone.
However, the phone rang again in the yard just ten seconds after he hung up. Su Yang picked it up, and it was Wang Dong.
“President Su! Mr. Su, why can’t I get you through your phone?” Su Yang said, “Oh, I accidentally muted the notifications.”
He redirected the conversation, “Did you call me for something?” Wang Dong said, “This morning, I received a lot of calls. There were calls from various companies, as well as calls from the city, all saying they wanted to talk to you.” Su Yang was a little surprised. “What companies are there?”.
A moment later, Wang Dong replied, “Alibaba, Baidu, Tencent, Huawei, and more. However, the calls were from different departments. They want to meet you and get to know the technology.” He added, “Politicians from the city also called to say they wanted to visit. The office director of our high tech park also called, asking about us.”
All these things were connected and Su Yang suddenly understood that these people were not going for Qidian E-Commerce, but for Jiadian Technology.
They were curious about Jidian Technology. Some wanted to visit, some wanted to cooperate while others wanted to spy on them. It seemed that they’ve made a big name for themselves this time.
‘Seems like my name is rather popular now, eh?!
Su Yang told Wang Dong not to be impatient and said that he was on a business trip so he wouldn’t be in the company for a while. He asked him to delay for a while and not to reply to others.
Although Wang Dong didn’t have much ability to himself, his only merit was that he was obedient so he replied, “Okay, Mr. Su. Don’t worry.”
Although Wang Dong said he was relieved, Su Yang felt that it was a bit tricky when he hung up the phone.
After all, he had no people, no equipment, no server, and only had a cell phone.
‘When the time comes, what am I going to show them if they come for a visit or a negotiation?
‘I can still delay the companies who come knocking, but how am I going to delay the politicians?
‘What a mess!’ Su Yang was bored.
