Chapter 749 - The Entire Internet Is In An Uproar!
The representative from Lianxiang said, “Actually, I’m not doubting you. Instead, I’m doubting this product which defies logic... How could it possibly be born?
“This is obviously a bluff, there’s no way anyone would believe it?
“So... Are you pulling our legs?”
At that point, everyone’s gaze shifted from the representative to Su Yang. It was obvious that they were curious how Su Yang would answer this question.
After all, everything that Su Yang said just now was really so magical that it was as if it was fake.
Earlier, everyone was immersed in the “fantasy” of technological change, so they did not realize it. However, now that they were brought back to reality, they realized that something was wrong.
‘Does this really exist?
‘Are you just bragging?’
However, Su Yang looked at him and smiled. As he walked, he said, “Your doubts are not without reason.
“In fact, I can understand how you feel.
“It’s just like our ancestors who could never believe that Earth is round, and it’s only the most ordinary planet within the endless universe.
“It’s just like how people in the 18th century could never imagine that man would be able to reach the moon in the future.
“In fact, even the great Einstein hasn’t been able to fully understand quantum physics despite spending most of his life studying it, has he?”
Then, Su Yang took a few more steps and stopped. Then, he said seriously, “This is all because... This is a limitation set by the times.
“So, this isn’t tragic.”
Su Yang waved at the staff and said to the representative, “You’re skeptical about this glass phone, aren’t you? You can come here and experience it for yourself.”
The representative was instantly stunned. He did not expect Su Yang to not explain anything and just allowed him to test out the glass phone himself. ‘Is he not afraid that I’d expose his bluff?’
The representative thought about this and hesitated for a moment. Then, under the lead of the staff, he walked onto the stage, where Su Yang passed the glass phone to him.
Then, a camera went on stage and aimed at his hand and the glass phone within, showing everything that was happening on the screen.
Then, the representative from Lianxiang began testing the glass phone.
He turned off the power source and the glass phone turned into a transparent piece of glass. Then, he turned it back on, and the glass phone started to display the image like magic.
After that, he began tapping on the glass phone, opening up Weibo and scrolling through it, only to find that it’s actually usable. Then, he clicked on QQ, which was also functional.
Then, he downloaded a few more of Android’s software from the internet, and when he downloaded them, a notification popped up on the screen, [Converting]. One second later, the conversion was completed, followed by the installation.
After he opened up the newly installed software, he realized that it could be used normally, plus it was performing extremely well without any delays or borders. It was as if the software was perfectly designed for the glass phone.
Hence, the representative was stunned.
When the crowd saw this, they started to discuss how amazing the glass phone was.
Also, it would seem as if the cellphone manufacturers in the last row were softly chatting as well.
“It can actually convert the software.”
“Yes, and it looks like the phone is well-matured.”
“How did they do this? This is practically the nuclear weapon of a new system. With this function, any company that develops a new operating system will not lack softwares.”
Everyone was curious about the smooth operation of the glass phone and the field experiment.
On the other hand, the representative thought about it for a while and lowered his head to look at the glass phone. Then, a smile appeared on his face as he said to the audience, “His glass phone is just one piece of glass with no place to slot in our SIM cards, so it can’t make phone calls.
“So, what’s the difference between a glass phone that can’t be used to make phone calls and an iPad?”
Instantly, the audience’s discussion stopped for a moment before it grew louder.
At that moment, Su Yang smiled and raised his microphone. “Do you have your cellphone with you?”
The representative nodded. “Yes.” Then, he took out an Apple cellphone.
However, Su Yang did not pay much attention to it. With a flick of his hand, he took out a card extraction needle. Then, with a stab, he opened up the SIM card slot for the Apple.
After that, under everyone’s gaze, he placed the SIM card on his glass phone and said, “Mini Deeny, please scan the SIM card.”
Little Deeny’s pleasant voice rang out. “Okay.”
Instantly, a green light flashed on the Sim card and a moment later, a notification popped up on the glass phone. [Your SIM card has been recorded. All information and contacts have been updated. You can now use the mobile data from your Beehive data as usual.]
After the notification ended, there was an icon of a call and message on the glass phone’s screen.
Then, Su Yang extended his hand. “Please give it a try.”
The audience and the representative were dumbfounded.
‘This... Seems too science fiction, doesn’t it?
‘Is this actually happening?’
At that thought, the representative felt sweat forming on his forehead. Then, he swallowed his saliva and picked up the glass phone to call his family.
“Du... Du... Du...”
After a while, the call went through, and a woman’s voice came from the other end. “Darling, what’s wrong? Why have you called all of a sudden?”
‘It actually got through! It can actually make phone calls?!
‘Also... it’s actually recorded in my SIM card!
‘After all, the caller ID shows my number and caller ID. Otherwise, how could she have called me out directly...’
On the other hand, everyone was shocked.
Instantly, the representative from Lianxiang’s eyes widened, and he was speechless.
Su Yang looked at him and smiled before he said to the staff, “Please send this man down.”
After the representative from Lianxiang returned to his seat, Su Yang said to the crowd, “I believe that everyone still has a lot of doubts about the glass phone and would like to experience it.
“Which is why I’m willing to satisfy everyone.
“To make it fair, I will be throwing out ten little gifts next. The person who receives the gift can come up on stage to experience the glass phone for themselves.”
As he spoke, Su Yang waved his hand, and the staff brought ten small boxes over. Su Yang said to the people below the stage, “This is an accessory that we’ve developed together with our glass phones, two pieces of True Bone Conduction earphones.
“To use this, all you have to do is to stick this at the back of your ear to hear the sound. Furthermore, the sound will not spread out at all, so it’s absolutely private. This is also a decent product produced by our company.
“Of course, other than connecting to your own glass phones, it can also connect to your ordinary cellphones via Bluetooth.
“Lastly, these earphones do not require charging as well.”
With that, Su Yang showed them his own bone conduction earphones.
Then, with his back facing the audience, he threw the 10 gifts into the air above the audience, so that the audience could see who of them were the lucky ones.
This completely random method was very convincing. Therefore, even though there was some competition, the 10 lucky audience members went on stage.
Among them were from the media, technological enthusiasts, friends from the TV station and cellphone manufacturers...
After the 10 of them went on stage, Su Yang waved his hand and 10 glass phones were set up. Each of them took one and started to operate and experiment.
The cameras started to capture the scene of the 10 people’s experiments, live streaming for the audience.
There were all kinds of identities and professions among these 10 people, so each person’s experiment function was different. This also showed the glass phone to everyone present more fully.
After the show, the audience was so shocked that they could not speak. The ten people were either excited, impressed, or gloomy. Their expressions varied.
However, there was no doubt that Su Yang’s glass phone passed these 10 people’s tests...
At the same time..
On the internet, the topic of glass phones became more and more popular.
Because all the media outlets had unanimously announced that there would be a shocking glass phone conference today, many netizens had already prepared benches and melon seeds to eat on the spot.
Among these netizens, some were people who had been paying attention to the glass phone and researching it. Some had seen the media that they liked reporting about it, and some were interested in the conference itself. There were also some who had been bombarded by so many media outlets and were purely spectators. The composition was very complicated.
However, no matter what the reason was, with so many people paying attention to the news conference, it proved that the news conference had become popular before it even started.
At the start of the press conference, Su Yang appeared and started to explain about the glass phone. When everyone saw the magical glass phone, they started to wonder if it was fake.
Soon, the representative from Lianxiang went onto the stage for the test.
At that moment, the netizens started to believe him. However, they were still doubtful. ‘Could this be scripted?
‘Even the Spring Festival Gala was scripted, let alone a press conference.
‘Even if it’s not scripted, could this be just a concept device?
‘After all, concept devices are different from mass-production devices.’
However, Su Yang slapped everyone in the face very quickly by throwing out gifts randomly and allowing 10 people who received the gifts to go on stage. After that, he even took out more glass phones for all 10 of them to experience.
At that moment, more details of the glass phone were displayed before everyone, including the replication of the SIM card, the conversion software, and the overall operating speed.
Looking at the various displays, even through the screen, all the netizens’ eyes were about to fall out of their sockets. They suspected that they were dreaming.
This led to them calling for more people to watch the press conference.
“Hurry up and come see! We have a glass phone in China that transcends its time!”
“What? You don’t possibly mean it has 18 cameras, do you?”
“No! It really is a borderless phone!”
“Xiaomi Mix?”
“Can you stop bickering! Hurry up and come take a look!”
“Oh.”
“Hey! Quick, look at channel 22219848 on Bilibili! Someone is livestreaming a press conference for a glass phone that transcends its time!”
“What are you talking about?”
“It’s an artificial intelligence-powered glass phone! Hurry up and take a look for yourselves! Otherwise, you’d regret it!”
“Hubby! This glass phone is so pretty! I like it! I want it!”
“Honey, I don’t have another kidney to sell anymore.”
“Aaaah... Don’t people have two kidneys?”
The emergence of the glass phone had indeed affected countless people and subverted their world view.
While Su Yang was live streaming, he secretly opened the system to check. In the end, he realized that his coins were increasing rapidly. In just half an hour, it had increased by more than 20,000 coins.
This meant that at least 20,000 people were affected.
This also meant that there were probably millions or even tens of millions of people watching his press conference.
After all, they had been affected before they had even gotten their hands on their glass phones. This was definitely an event with a very low probability. If there was a low probability of 20,000 people being affected, then it was reasonable for tens of millions of people to be paying attention to it.
Meanwhile, all the major media outlets were beaming. This was because they realized that their website’s viewership was rising steadily, and the Shanghai TV Station’s viewership ratings were also rising in a curve, it was skyrocketing!
After the 10 people at the scene finished their experiments, Su Yang kept his glass phone and interviewed them one by one. “Hi there, what do you think about this glass phone?”
“It really is ahead of its time! It’s amazing! I’m going to throw all my phones away today!”
Su Yang laughed and patted his shoulder. “You should still be thrifty.”
“Hi there, what do you think about this glass phone?”
“It’s a miracle. I even suspect that I’m dreaming.”
“Hi there, what do you think about this glass phone?”
“Before I came, I thought my leader was joking with me. After I came, I feel like this is a joke from God.”
“Hello, what do you think...”
Everyone who was interviewed expressed their admiration for the glass phone.
At the end of Su Yang’s question, there was a man wearing a pair of spectacles and a suit.
“Hi there, what do you think about this glass phone?”
The man with the eyes adjusted his glasses and then said, “Yeah... It’s... not too bad.”
A notification popped up in Su Yang’s [Eye of Origin]. [He doesn’t mean what he says, but he doesn’t dare to speak his real thoughts...]
Su Yang had some guesses and asked, “Which company are you from?”
The bespectacled man said, “I am Gao Lei, director of the research and development department of Samsung (China).”
Su Yang nodded. “Hello, Mr. Gao, is there something you’re not satisfied with? Is it that it can’t explode?”
The bespectacled man ignored Su Yang’s teasing and said straightforwardly, “I do have some questions to ask you, Mr. Su.
“Our company is also in the cellphone industry, so we know all the big companies better. However, we’ve never seen this kind of technology before. These technologies don’t seem to exist within our industry.”
Su Yang smiled. “I’m sorry, but I’m not from your industry. I’m in the artificial intelligence industry.”
Gao Lei was speechless.
He was obviously not good with words because he did not know what to say after being rebutted by Su Yang.
At that moment, the person sitting in the last row stood up and said, “Mr. Su, I know what you mean.”
Su Yang looked at that person. “Oh? You do? Tell me about it then.”
That person said, “Actually, Mr. Gao is trying to ask where you’ve obtained these technologies from?
“Actually, we’ve been aware about this glass phone long ago, so we started researching it. However, no matter how much we studied it, we found that it doesn’t conform to our understanding from this era.
“So, this technology of yours seems to have come out of nowhere.
“May I know how you’re going to explain this?
“Also, we’ve heard about all the technologies that you’ve explained, but we don’t understand them at all. So, we’re curious about how you came up with them.”
Instantly, there was silence as the atmosphere became tense.
If the previous representative’s questions were thought to be a coincidence, then Samsung’s questions were clearly a provocation.
Because of that, the entire place was silent. All eyes were on Su Yang, waiting to see what he would do.
The internet was abuzz with this matter as well. Even though many positive people were scolding the bespectacled man for causing trouble on purpose. ‘You’re so shameless! Why does he have to explain to you how he invented it?’
However, the majority of the netizens were curious about how this glass phone worked.
After all, everyone had the desire to explore technology. They were also very curious about the development of a new kind of cellphone.
All eyes were on Su Yang. When the spotlight shone on him, he looked like a God.
Su Yang, on the other hand, walked to the center of the stage with a smile on his face. Holding the glass phone, he said, “I think everyone is really curious about the mechanism of this glass phone. So, I’ll just briefly explain it.”
“After all... Even if I do reveal it, none of my cellphone manufacturing friends will be able to replicate it.”
Su Yang’s extremely confident and domineering words made him seem even cooler!
