Su Yang was shocked when he saw the capability of the pork shoulder.
‘This is my first time receiving an item related to [Affinity].
‘I’m not unfamiliar with [Affinity] because this option would appear every time I added Silver points.
‘Using Silver Points could not only allow me to gain superpowers, it could also change my body parts and also increase the affinity of others.
‘However, I have always thought that Silver points were very precious. All the Silver Points that I had obtained were used to increase my special abilities, so I have never unlocked the affinity of others.
‘I did not expect to encounter a special item related to it today!
‘A shoulder that can increase affinity... Plus, the more I roast someone, the higher their affinity is for me...
‘This... is indeed a “good” roast.
‘After all, generally, roasting others would make them unhappy and gain negative energy because of it.
‘However, this shoulder is able to make them happy while I roast them.
‘It is indeed a decent item.
‘Pity I haven’t got any spare Silver points, now I haven’t got any ways of testing out this ability.
‘Furthermore, I feel that unless I have a bundle of extra Silver points such as having my 5th SIlver point but I can only upgrade my abilities to +3 at the moment, then I might barely consider unlocking someone’s [Affinity] for me.
‘Otherwise, unless there was something wrong with my brain, I would never unlock another person’s affinity for me.’
Just as Su Yang was standing there, he suddenly remembered that ever since the system+2, he could ask questions on his own. He could not help but push the question mark to [Affinity].
As expected, there was an additional introduction on [Affinity].
[Affinity], It can be activated through Silver points or vouchers. Maximum value is 100. Affinity can be increased or decreased. Affinity includes [Friendship], [Love] and [Kinship] in which all of them can be increased and decreased as well.
‘Hang on? So it can be unlocked with a voucher?’
Then, the red flag that Su Yang placed had fallen...
In fact, Su Yang did not feel bad about spending some coins.
Perhaps because his business was getting bigger and bigger, more and more people could be affected. This also caused his “coin cashflow” to become more and more abundant. According to his calculations, on average, he could gain 300 coins per day.
It was equivalent to obtaining a [Random Point] and a [Guardian Talisman] every two days.
It was a wonderful thing for him.
Now that there was a fourth slot in the system store, there would often be random vouchers. These vouchers were mostly expensive, which was why Su Yang did not dare to spend them recklessly in case he did not have enough coins to buy them.
Therefore, recently, he would only buy a [Random Point] when he needed to add points and would keep all the remaining coins.
This was also the reason why he had enough coins to buy the [Silver Ability Enhancement Voucher].
Now, he had discovered another [Affinity Unlock Voucher]. He also believed that the price for this voucher would not be cheap, definitely on the same level as the [Silver Ability Enhancement Voucher].
‘I’ve got to start my grand plans to earn coins.
‘I want to have enough coins to buy the [Affinity Unlock Voucher] when it appears.’
Su Yang picked up [The Pork Shoulder That Can Roast]. He felt that the pork shoulder was very handy in his hands. When he waved it around, the pieces of meat would tremble vigorously.
Perhaps because it was a special item, when he touched it, the pork shoulder did not leave any grease behind and was very dry instead.
‘I see, so this pork shoulder isn’t greasy...’
He placed the pork shoulder inside the safe in his study. The safe was currently locked with a bunch of special items inside it.
Su Yang believed in the security of the safe. After all, not everyone had the [Universal Paper Key]. However... Su Yang had a question!
‘The safe is secure enough to prevent thieves from opening it up!
‘But!
‘Could it prevent others from carrying it away?!
‘What if someone takes the entire safe away with them?’
Su Yang pondered over this question. He felt that he should consider if there was anything safer...
For the next few days, Su Yang spent most of his time quietly waiting.
He was waiting for himself to come up with a way to complete the Silver Mission, waiting for Chu Hong and Director Wang to receive the lesson they deserved, waiting for... the miracle of “Fighting The Buddha” to continue.
“Fighting The Buddha” was really popular now, mega popular!
It received a box office of 3.13 million yuan on Wednesday, 5.02 million yuan on Thursday, 4.13 million yuan on Friday and 4.51 million yuan on Saturday, even though it had dropped a little on Sunday, it still managed to stay above 4 million yuan and received 4.01 million yuan.
The box office earnings of 20 million yuan over five days was too blinding for others to see.
However, because “Fighting The Buddha” had been released a week earlier, it did not become the fastest movie to break the 20 million yuan box office.
Regardless, everyone in the industry knew that it was the movie that broke the 20 million box office record!
Immediately after that, “Fighting The Buddha” did not stop in their tracks. In the third week, it received 3.02 million yuan on Monday, 2.32 million yuan on Tuesday, 1.94 million yuan on Wednesday...
Even though the momentum of the new week for “Fighting The Buddha” was dropping, it was already terrifying enough!
It should be emphasized that “Xu Qingling”, the most popular online movie during the summer break, only received 2 million yuan during its premiere! On the contrary, this was the result of the third week of “Fighting The Buddha”!
So, even though “Fighting The Buddha” did not become the fastest online movie to break the 20 million mark, it became... the second and third week’s highest box office online movie.
Well... the highest box office movie over a single week.
Of course, these titles did not exist in the past. They were all fabricated by iQIYI to flaunt the spectacular results of “Fighting The Buddha”!
After all, during this summer break, iQIYI had been suppressed by Tencent and Youku and had been looked down upon for a long time. Now that such a blockbuster movie had appeared, they definitely had to promote it!
The stability of the box office of “Fighting The Buddha” was also related to their increased resources in promoting the movie.
After all, with their promotions, “Fighting The Buddha” had recently become the mascot of online movies. Almost everyone who watched online movies knew about “Fighting The Buddha”.
In fact, “Fighting The Buddha” seemed to have a hidden effect and more and more people started to pay attention to online movies.
Because of these promotions, Su Yang’s circle of friends started to pay more attention to “Fighting The Buddha”. More than one person had privately messaged Su Yang about the movie.
The entire conversation was
‘Su Yang, do you know that your movie is on fire?!’
Su Yang thought to himself, ‘That’s my movie. How could I not know? Your IQ is just like Lin Jiali’s.’
“Su Yang, you’ve become really awesome! You’ve already started making your own movie! When are you going to invite me to play with the celebrities?”
Su Yang was speechless
‘Do you want a male celebrity?
‘Besides... We’ve only talked once in our first year of university, yet now we’re brothers?’
‘Su Yang, I want to make a movie too. Do you think I’m suitable?’
Su Yang thought in his heart, ‘I suppose you’re suitable, as a comedian. I’m not criticizing anyone... Comedians are a very popular thing now.’
‘Su Yang, you’re rich! Do remember to look after me!’
Su Yang was speechless.
‘Hold on? Who are you? How did you get my WeChat?’
Su Yang really did not know this person...
The entertainment industry was a place of fame and fortune. The people within the industry wanted to leave while the opposite is true as well. However, the most unique thing about this industry was that as long as there was the slightest disturbance, the whole world would know.
This was something that other circles could never achieve.
Therefore, once Su Yang’s movie became popular, he became a celebrity among his friends. Some of the “strangers” who might not have chatted with him since they added each other on WeChat started to become familiar with him.
Needless to say, some of Su Yang’s friends were reposting all sorts of news on their WeChat friend circles, as well as information related to the “Fighting The Buddha”.
Of course, when they posted it, they would also say things like ‘This is my good friend’s movie. I’m so proud of him.’ or ‘My brother’s movie has good results. Everyone should give it a go.’
Initially, Su Yang was a little unhappy because he was not familiar with many of those people but had suddenly become good friends. Su Yang felt as though he was being “used” by someone.
However, as more and more of such people appeared, Su Yang started to understand.
‘Humans are vain. It’s rare for one of their friends to be successful, so it’s a blessing to be able to gain some fame in front of their friends in the meantime.
‘Moreover, I could also gain more exposure and attention for my movie.
‘To put it bluntly, it was a win-win situation.’
Fortunately, Su Yang’s close friends, such as Tang Jing, Tang Xiaomi, Chuxia, Qu Xiaomeng and Qu Xuan, did not change their relationship with him because of this.
This also allowed him to maintain a nonchalant attitude toward this matter. As long as he did not cause trouble for himself and used himself to act cool, so be it.
Among them, the one who did not change the most was Li Runze. On Sunday, Su Yang and Li Runze were having a meal outside the school. When Su Yang talked about his movie, Li Runze listened to Su Yang calmly without any change in his expression.
This made Su Yang, who initially wanted to confide in him, feel guilty that he was showing off.
Therefore, he stopped the topic.
After that, the two of them had already changed several topics. Li Runze suddenly brought up Su Yang’s movie, saying that he had actually watched the movie and even became a member for it. However... he did not really like the movie.
Because he felt that this movie was a classic example of doing it just for money. The first 10 minutes were exciting and attracted people to watch it, plus the last 10 minutes were exciting. It made people have the desire to share and repost it, and it also increased the movie’s reputation.
But actually... The context of the movie was still a romance genre that is focused on emotions and melodrama.
To put it bluntly, it was like food that had expired with an exquisite packaging, it looked beautiful on the outside and the last bite was a little delicious so that more people came to eat it.
Su Yang listened quietly to what Li Runze had to say, but his heart was filled with shock.
He felt that Li Runze was right. The main objective of this movie was Producer Zhao’s attempt to scam money. Even if he and Bubbles worked hard to change it, they could not hide that agenda.
Furthermore, the huge increase in box office could have been caused by many reasons, but it did not mean that the movie was really good.
Recently, he had been feeling... smug.
On the way home, Su Yang had been reflecting on this question.
Before he could come to a conclusion, he received a call from Mr. Jia. “The matter between Chu Hong and Director Wang has been resolved...”
