Chapter 773 - The Solution To The Glass Phone’s Production Rate
If it was an ordinary cellphone, they could at least open it up and study the components within.
However, Jiadian Mobile’s glass phone was completely integrated, making it look like a mere piece of glass with no gaps at all. Hence, there was nothing that could be studied, causing experts from the various companies, countries, and organizations to be stunned.
‘How the f*ck am I supposed to study this!
‘It’s just a piece of glass, isn’t it?
‘Am I supposed to smash it open and study the fragments?’
These countries, organizations, and companies used to have some fantasies about the technology used by the Jiadian Group. Perhaps the technology used by Jiadian Group was just a small trick. Thus, after they got their hands on the glass phone, they could reverse engineer it or realize the technology involved.
However, at that moment, their fantasies were crushed into pieces.
The experts realized that the technologies Jiadian Group had had far surpassed their era. ‘This isn’t a product of this era.
‘This feels like us being in the steam era, while Jiadian Group is in the electricity era.’
Thus, this confusion and despair made their attitude towards Jiadian Group change...
Moreover, they could imagine the number of companies worth trillions would be created if these technologies were expanded. At the same time, they could also imagine how the remaining companies who could not get their hands on this technology would suffer miserably.
People who wore shoes would always be afraid of losing their shoes. After all, no one wanted their hard-earned wealth to go to waste. Therefore, these people started to become wary of the Jiadian Group...
Other than these companies and organizations, other countries had even more concerns...
‘What would this technology do to the related industries in China?
‘Could our own country’s industries withstand this impact?
‘Could we cooperate with China and Jiadian Group?
‘Can this technology be shared?’
So on, and so on...
Therefore, all the countries held a meeting in a luxurious office in the White House, located in Washington, America...
The leader, a thin black man, asked, “Everyone has seen the report on Jiadian Mobile’s glass phone. So, I would like to ask for your opinions, will this impact our country’s industries?”
Then, an old Caucasian man beside him said, “Absolutely. The cellphone industry would be the first and foremost to be hit, followed by IC chips, batteries, communications, earphones, all the way to even cars and electricity would be affected.”
The thin black man placed his hand on his chin and pondered for a while. “What do you think we should do about this?”
Another young Caucasian said, “It’s best if we ask them to announce their technologies involved. If we want to settle for the next best thing, we would have to cooperate with them and open a branch company in our country. If they don’t agree to our terms, we could ban them to pressure them, which is something we can do based on our influence in the world.”
As soon as he finished, the first Caucasian man to speak objected. “I object.
“Our policy has always been to maintain good relations with other countries, increase import and export trade, and promote domestic development, which are all the basis of us being able to win the election in the first place.
“Thus, if we ban a new technological company now, what we have done in the past few years will all be for naught. This will have a huge impact on our image in the world.
“We are the beacon of freedom, so we should be open and free. Furthermore, we have to have a positive international image. Only then can we continuously harvest talents from various countries.
“If it were me, I would suggest that we contact their chairman and have a chat. We can express our appreciation and hope that he could come to our country to settle down. Then, we can provide him with all the support he requires, and within our capabilities.
“I believe this is what we should do when we’re facing talents from all countries.”
At this point, the other people in the conference room looked at each other. Some nodded to themselves while others frowned slightly.
The old Caucasian man scanned the conference room and said, “It’s been six years since we entered the White House. Because of our good policies, our country’s import and export trade has been growing for many years. The import and export trade has led to the recovery of manufacturing and created a large number of job opportunities. As such, our country’s economy has gone from recession to recovery, and household income has been rising every year.
“We have also implemented housing reform, employment reform, and successfully established friendly relations with many powerful countries.
“This... This is all thanks to our efforts.
“Right now, our priority is to implement the negotiations in Central Asia, push for the Paris Agreement, promote education, policies, and healthcare. These are all matters that require our immediate attention, instead of... A discussion about a company.”
At the end, the old man took a sip of water. When everyone in the office had digested what he had said, he added, “Furthermore, this company has obviously just started to develop. So, even though they have great potential, it doesn’t mean that they can pose a threat to our country.”
As he said that, the old Caucasian distributed a few documents to the people present. “These are the information I’ve gathered regarding Jiadian Mobile’s glass phones.”
After the few of them finished reading the information, the old Caucasian said, “Even though they have completed these few technologies, they have not reached the level of mass production, which will take them at least two years for their production to be able to catch up.”
“Until then...” He looked around the entire office and lowered his voice. “It’s none of our business.”
The others in the office looked at each other. One of them said thoughtfully to the thin black man in the lead, “I think Justin has a point.”
The black man closed his eyes. His fingers tapped on the table as he fell into deep thought.
After a while, he opened his eyes and said, “The FAI have reported that they’re assisting someone as the middleman, and they’re planning to eliminate the leader of Jiadian Group.”
The old Caucasian smiled and said, “They’re just the middlemen, so it’s impossible to bring up such a private transaction for discussion. After all, this has nothing to do with us...”
The meeting lasted for an hour before several foreigners in suits left the room.
Then, the old man left the building and got into a luxury car.
As the vehicle slowly drove forward, the old man took out his cellphone and made a call.
“Du... Du... Du...”
After a while, the call went through.
The old Caucasian man said, “I’ve done what I’ve promised, so remember to hold up your end of the bargain.”
While the people were having a meeting in America, the other countries were also discussing this matter. Some of them, be it the majority, or the minority, were objecting to it. So, for the moment, most countries chose to hold their ground and observe the situation...
At that moment, Su Yang was sitting on a small stool in the virtual space with Qing Zhu as he fished.
He was holding a Qing Zhu pole with a thread wrapped around it. However, there was no hook tied to the end of the thread as it fell into the water.
On the other hand, Qing Zhu sat beside Su Yang, dressed in a traditional Han attire. She placed her hand against her chin and looked at Su Yang.
Su Yang sat leisurely on the stool. When he noticed her movements, he glanced at her. “What’s the matter? Why are you looking at me?”
Qing Zhu asked, “Husband, what are you doing?”
Su Yang replied, “Fishing.”
Qing Zhu glanced at the fishing line in the water. “But... You don’t even have a hook.”
Su Yang said nonchalantly, “You don’t understand what’s happening here, do you? This is called Su Taigong’s fishing method, those who are fated to be with me will be willing to take the bait without a hook at all.”
Then, Qing Zhu cutely puffed up her cheeks. “Husband, stop trying to bluff me. I have also heard of that legend, but there are no fish in the water. So, no matter how willing they are, they won’t be able to take the bait.”
As she said that, she stood up and looked at the man-made river that had turned from a small stream to a small river. The river water was so clear that one could see the bottom. However, there was not even a single bamboo leaf, much less a fish.
Hence, Su Yang was speechless.
He coughed and said, “It’s the cultivation of one’s mind.”
With that, he waved his hand and put away the fishing rod. “Alright, that’s enough for today, I’m going to head back and get some rest.”
Qing Zhu blinked her large eyes. “Husband, aren’t you fishing?”
Su Yang waved his hand. “Not anymore.”
As Qing Zhu watched Su Yang leave, a few question marks appeared on her head. “Husband is so strange...”
Back at the villa, Su Yang took a look at the time, which showed that it was already 10pm. Apart from that, Janet had already returned with the ingredients for the resurrection of the people in the [Burning Reincarnation Circus] bought.
Thus, Su Yang revived the actors one by one.
Of the few actors, the old man who had retired from the state-owned enterprise had returned to his healthy self in his 50s, and he did not have any signs of being a little monster. Instead, he only felt that his back was a little heavy, but it was unclear whether there was some hidden characteristic to it.
Some of the other young actors had the characteristics of trees with their slightly cracked skin. Some had the characteristics of grass with their green hair, while some had the characteristics of chrysanthemums, ahem...
After that, Su Yang had Little Deeny’s doppelganger lead the few of them to adapt to their current identity and state in the castle. He was going to make arrangements for them later on.
After everything was settled, Su Yang gave Zhao Licheng a call and asked him about the sale of the glass phones.
As a result, the sales result was within Su Yang’s expectations. Even though the transactions were all handled by staff, Jiadian Mobile’s glass phones were still sold out within five hours. Thus, the three flagship stores closed shop early and began cleaning and tidying up the place.
After that, Su Yang calculated the glass phone’s production rate. ‘I have around 2,100 glass phones a day, distributed to the three flagship stores, each of them would have 700 units per day. That’s not enough...
‘Hmm... It would be great if that old lady can solve the mystery behind the Lightning Battery!
‘Or... if only I can get my hands on the raw materials and transport them to the virtual space...’
At that thought, Su Yang’s eyes lit up. ‘Hang on? That’s right, why don’t I buy the raw materials?’
Su Yang patted his own head when he felt that he was really being silly.
There have always been three ways to manufacture the glass phones in the [Cellphone Development Factory]. The first method was to directly produce them with coins, the second method was to use energy items such as Lightning Batteries, and the third method was to directly produce them with raw materials.
Actually, Su Yang had seen the bill of materials before, which included many types of materials and had a high requirement. However... It was purchasable at least!
At that moment, Su Yang was not short of money. What he lacked was coins and the number of people he could influence. On the other hand, selling his glass phones could bring him some coins and increase the number of people influenced. In fact, on the first day of the sale, Su Yang had already earned more than 100,000 coins.
Even though this was the first day of sales and could easily influence others, it also proved that selling glass phones could influence others in a good way.
Hence, Su Yang felt that it was reasonable to spend money on raw materials to have his glass phones produced!
Previously, Su Yang did not use this method because he had yet to have his glass phones manufactured, nor had he expanded his influence across the world. Furthermore, even if he were to purchase the raw materials, there would be too many types and too high a quantity for it to be convenient to transport.
Hence, now that everything had matured, Su Yang felt that he could actually try that method.
With that thought in mind, Su Yang asked Little Deeny to call the old master that he had just resurrected.
Before long, the resurrected old master appeared before Su Yang.
In fact, the old man did not put on any airs just because he was old or had contributed to the country. Instead, he cupped his fists respectfully and said, “Mr. Su, you were looking for me.”
Likewise, Su Yang’s attitude towards the old man was much friendlier. He first called the old man “Old Master Pei” before explaining what he wanted to do.
After he was done explaining, Su Yang said to Old Master Pei, “I know that you used to work in a state-owned enterprise and are very dependable. Therefore, I intend to hand this matter over to you. You can follow the Clown Sea Serpent to Central Asia or Hawaii. From those two places, you can use the Clown Sea Serpent’s network to purchase raw materials and transport them back to the virtual space. What do you think?”
Old Master Pei said without hesitation, “Don’t worry, I won’t let you down!”
Su Yang nodded in satisfaction.
Then, he called the Clown Sea Serpent out and introduced Old Master Pei to him.
The Clown Sea Serpent first sized up Old Master Pei and smiled. “Hello, Old Master Pei. From now on, we’ll be partners.”
Old Master Pei straightened his back and said righteously, “It’s all for the people.”
Su Yang was speechless.
‘Fine, he’s right. I’m also a citizen.’
After the two of them got to know each other, the Clown Sea Serpent took out two sets of documents, a tape, and an hourglass before handing it over to Su Yang. He then told Su Yang that these were valuable information that he had obtained after reading the memories of the four people.
As for the hourglass, other than the time Wang Jue went missing and the fact that Su Yang was involved, there was nothing else.
Because the Clown Sea Serpent was very meticulous, Su Yang assured. ‘If he says so, there should be no problem.’
With that thought in mind, Su Yang sent the two of them off to talk about the purchase of the raw materials in private. As for himself, he planned to check the two reports and videotapes that the Clown Sea Serpent gave him.
When he returned to his room, before he could take out the information, he heard a WeChat notification.
Su Yang froze on the spot with a face full of confusion.
‘Someone’s looking for me at this hour?
‘Could it be Chu Xia?
‘Could she be waiting for me to coax her because she’s having a sleepless night?’
At that thought, Su Yang summoned a virtual interface and opened his WeChat to take a look. To his surprise, it was Tang Xiaomi...
Hence, he opened up Tang Xiaomi’s WeChat.
‘Su Yang, Su Yang, are you there?’
Looking at Tang Xiaomi’s WeChat, Su Yang could not help but imagine Little Cutie’s adorable expression.
With a smile, he replied. ‘Yes, why?’
Tang Xiaomi replied almost instantly. ‘I want to ask you something and then tell you a secret. Are you free?’
‘Tell me something? A secret?
‘What’s this about?’
At that thought, Su Yang replied curiously. ‘I’m free. What is it? What’s the secret?’
‘If you have time, come pick me up and bring me to your place before I tell you. I can’t tell you on WeChat.’
Su Yang was speechless.
‘Is it that mysterious?
‘You can’t tell me through WeChat...
‘Is she afraid of being monitored?’
Even though Su Yang could not understand what the child was thinking, he still pondered for a moment. ‘Since I’ve got nothing to do today, I might as well go along and get ready to fetch Tang Xiaomi...’
