Su Yang tapped on the [+] symbol.
As he clicked on the [+] symbol, a notification immediately popped up in front of him.
[Are you sure you want to add a third point? The failure rate of adding a third point will greatly increase. If you fail, the item will be completely damaged.]
With the experience of not being “blown away” the last time, Su Yang ignored the notification and ran off with Little Hus in his arms!
He tucked Little Hus under his arm and ignored Little Hus’s request to go find Janet. He ran all the way back to the door of the mansion.
Arriving at the entrance of the villa, Su Yang placed Little Hus down and clicked on [Yes].
As soon as he confirmed it, he saw Little Hus dash out of the villa like an arrow leaving the bowstring. Then, he ran towards Janet. ” I’ll protect you my wife!”
An explosion rang out from Janet’s body with a boom. Dust flew everywhere as shockwaves rolled!
Before Little Hus could reach Janet, it was sent flying by the blast.
It was not as heavy as Su Yang, hence it was sent flying back the way it came, slamming heavily against the door.
This time, Janet’s explosion was especially loud. The shockwave directly affected the water in the pool. With a splash, waves of water appeared in the pool before it slammed heavily onto the shore.
A bright orange light shone from Janet’s body followed by the explosion. Then, she rose into the air and stopped.
Then, several orange ribbons of light appeared from his body. The ribbons of light looked like they had a life of their own as they surrounded him layer by layer before turning into a cocoon of light.
A countdown then appeared on the cocoon, [59: 59]...
With his previous experience, Su Yang knew that he had succeeded in adding a point for Janet. All that was left was to wait patiently.
At that moment, Little Hus had just gotten up from the ground. It shook its head before turning to look at Janet.
From its eyes, one could tell that it was really worried about Janet.
Su Yang walked over and squatted down. He patted Little Hus’s head and asked, “Are you worried?”
Little Hus glanced at Su Yang with a rather bad temper. “Wouldn’t you be worried if your wife were in danger?”
Su Yang snorted. “I don’t have a wife.”
After saying that, he silently said in his heart, ‘That’s not your wife neither...’
Little Hus did not know what Su Yang was thinking. It looked at Su Yang in disdain. “You pitiful single dog.”
Su Yang was stunned.
‘F*ck! Am I being despised by a dog?!
‘Plus, why are we insulting each other when we’re both dogs!
‘So what if I’m single? Have I lost my human rights?
‘Moreover... I’m clearly an eligible bachelor, so how could I be considered as a single dog?!
‘We’re from a different species’!
Just as Su Yang was complaining, Little Deeny’s voice rang beside his ear. “Master, Li Zijun just sent me an email. It’s the proposal and script for the movie, as well as an official request for handling their movie’s special effects.Would you like to take a look?”
Su Yang happened to have time to spare, so he said, “Alright. Print it out and ask the Little Monster Beans to send it over for me to take a look.”
“Yes, Master.”
With Little Deeny’s confirmation, a few Little Monster Beans quickly ran out of the villa with a document in their hands as they muttered “Dou dou dou”.
They strode over to Su Yang and passed him the document.
Su Yang lifted their chins to express his gratitude.
After thanking Little Monster Beans, Su Yang picked up the proposal and script. Without even looking at it, he placed it on the tip of Little Hus’s nose and said, “Come, smell it.”
Little Hus gave Su Yang a husky stare. “Can you be more humane?”
Su Yang was confused.
‘What now!’
Little Hus stretched out a paw made of cloth and pointed at the cocoon of light in the sky. “When your wife is about to give birth, would you still be in the mood to work?”
Su Yang was speechless.
‘Who exactly did you learn all these twisted theories from!?’
Su Yang suddenly thought of an advertisement. ‘What should you do when your dog is constantly being disobedient? Just beat him up!’
Right after that, Su Yang used his actions to tell Little Hus that even if his wife was Janet, he would still dare to beat it to death!
Under Su Yang’s coercion, Little Hus covered its head with her bag and could only lower its head to sniff the movie proposal.
Its nose twitched as it sniffed the movie proposal. Then, it suddenly froze. “Woof?”
Su Yang noticed its expression and asked curiously, “How is it? Is it worth investing in?”
Little Hus nodded his head vigorously. “It’s worth it. I feel like this movie’s able to earn twice as much compared to “Fighting The Buddha”.”
‘Twice as much compared to “Fighting The Buddha”?’
Su Yang was shocked.
‘1 “Fighting The Buddha” has earned 40 million, and this new movie is twice as much, then that’s 80 million yuan.
‘Is this movie that profitable?
‘Frankly, I didn’t pay much attention to this project previously. After all, all the good movies have been taken away by others in my opinion, hence I never thought that I would have a turn at it anyways.
‘Normally, those who came to him like this wouldn’t usually have anything worthwhile. Furthermore, they even wanted me to allow them to convert my charges for the special effects into the movie’s investment which makes the project even more unreliable. They seemed to be hoping to gain something without risking anything.
‘Hence, I have never held any high regards for this project.
‘I had only thought that I could use Little Hus’s [Potential Sniffing] since it is able to use the ability 5 times a day. I haven’t been using it often so it wouldn’t harm to let him try it out.
‘Who knew I would actually score a hit!’
Just as Su Yang was thinking about this, Little Hus added, “That’s not all.”
Su Yang looked at it. “What do you mean?”
Little Hus’s Husky face actually had a trace of hesitation. He said, “I don’t really understand either, but I can sense that there’s still a lot of potential for this project later on. However... its extent of it is unknown, but I can smell that the potential of it seems to be greater than this project. I don’t know what’s going on either.”
‘What...
‘What does it mean? There’s still potential after this project?
‘Isn’t a movie considered to be 1 project? If there’s more after that... A sequel?
‘Could the sequel earn another 80 million yuan?
‘That can’t be right, according to Little Hus, the sequel had more potential than this project.
‘That means it has the potential to earn more than 80 million yuan...
‘How much would that be? 100 million?!’
Su Yang was shocked by his own thoughts. ‘This is already part of my goal!
‘The sequel of this movie is able to meet part of my goal? I suppose poverty really has limited my imaginations...
‘Whatever it is, I’m definitely going to participate in this project with Little Hus’s confirmation!’
With that thought in mind, he picked up the project proposal and looked through it. In the end, he realized that the movie’s name was “Wolf Warrior”, a military-themed movie.
Director Wu Feng was an actor himself. A few years ago, he was changing his role to that of a soldier, the role that had a strong foundation of audiences.
The investment for the entire film was around 150 million yuan. The overall special effects production cost was estimated to be around 60 million yuan, which accounted for almost half of the investment.
Su Yang understood why the director wanted him to invest in special effects since it would be too expensive for the director to pay...
Su Yang calculated in his heart.
‘Assuming that Little Hus’s prediction is accurate, this movie’s profit is roughly 80 million yuan and the production cost is 240 million yuan.
‘That means, the total box office would be around 550 to 560 million.
‘If I really held the shares of the movie based on my charges from working with the special effects, I would have approximately 40% of the shares in my hands, effectively allowing me to earn 96 million yuan. That means the net profit would be 36 million yuan, 36 million yuan!
‘Plus, if there’s a sequel later and I were to still invest based on the same ratio, effectively allowing me to earn another few million yuan, there’s a high chance that I will be able to make more than a hundred million from the two movies!
‘This movie is definitely worth it!’
Actually, Su Yang was already partially involved in the entertainment industry, so he understood a lot about the ins and outs. He knew that movies like ‘”Fighting The Buddha”‘ were rare.
Most of the movies in the entertainment industry were actually losing money. A small portion of the movies could earn some money, while a miniscule portion of it could earn explosive amounts of money. It was even rarer for a movie with a small investment to earn a huge sum of profits.
Meanwhile, “Fighting The Buddha” was an obvious example of the latter scenario.
However, the success of the movie was due to the involvement of Chen Min and Lin Cong who had been part of the audience’s sentiment for more than 20 years. Plus, both of them also had the advantage from the popularity of “Journey to the West” which was part of a huge intellectual property. In fact, in order to be safe, they had even utilized the bug in iQIYI’s payment system whereby payment would be made if the movie were played for more than 6 minutes in order to achieve their results.
However, this kind of movie was hard to come by.
Especially when both the cost of the movie and its corresponding risks were higher. Although the movie might be able to make more money, it was also very likely that they would lose everything.
There were plenty of film companies that had gone bankrupt due to making a loss in the box office.
Now that Su Yang had encountered a movie that could “steadily” allow him to earn close to 100 million yuan, he would be a fool not to accept it!
Strictly speaking, the production ratio of this movie was not high. After all, it was not even expected to double in sales revenue and was expected to be 50% instead. Plus, the investment was huge, so the risk involved was high as well.
Su Yang also found out more about Wu Feng. ‘This actor has actually directed a military-themed movie before. He invested more than 10 million yuan in the movie, but the box office was only 7 million yuan.
‘With such a dark history, most people would not dare to invest.
‘But!
‘Who am I? I’m a man who’s also a cheat code! It won’t be a risky investment but a zero risk investment instead since I have Little Hus’s nose with me!
‘Moreover, this will be a movie that will end up with a saga, earning from one movie to another. It’s simply wonderful.
‘So, I should be making plans for the movie sequels as well. I’ll have to ask to receive the same investment ratio and the corresponding authority for the sequels as well.
‘In fact, I shouldn’t limit it to special effects alone, I should work on obtaining the rights to work on the post production of the movie to include its charges into the investment of the movie. By doing so, I would then hold a much higher percentage of the shares, effectively allowing me to earn more money through both movies!’
With that thought in mind, Su Yang gave Li Zijun a call and told her that he had agreed to this project in principle. However, he wanted to have a chat with the director of the project to see if there were any other ways for him to collaborate with them.
After Li Zijun received Su Yang’s confirmation, she said, “I’ll get right on it.” Then, she hung up the phone.
While Su Yang was busy investing in the movie, an hour had passed unknowingly. As the countdown ended, countless cracks appeared on the surface of the cocoon of light that was quietly floating in the air before it exploded.
Following the explosion, a bright orange light spilled out!
