Chapter 755 - Chu Xia’s Best Friend Was Shocked
‘Eh? What is this?’
Su Yang looked at the scene before him curiously.
Having used his [Eye of Origins] many times, he knew very well that this was the effect of [Descent], a sub-ability that would notify him whenever someone mentioned his name.
‘But... I’ve already deactivated my [Eye of Origins], so why has it suddenly popped out?’
Just when Su Yang was curious, he felt Little Deeny moving in his arms.
Hence, Su Yang lowered his head and saw Little Deeny struggling out of his embrace shyly. She said, “Master, I’ve already received your ability just now.”
Then, she coughed before she said, “The data volume is huge indeed.
“For an instant, I had to use one of my doppelgangers to fend off the almost endless pop-up windows. After that, I had to use two doppelgangers to quickly filter and analyze those pop-up windows.”
As she spoke, Little Deeny became more and more normal.
“Within that one minute, about 20 thousand pop-up windows appeared, but the subsequent increase was not as fast anymore and was only increasing at a rate of 100 pop-up windows per second, but it disappeared at about the same rate as well.
“The large amount of data at first was probably due to previous accumulations.
“So, I analyzed these pop-up windows and realized that most of them were useless. It was mostly from people all over the world who were discussing your press conference, so they accidentally mentioned you at the time.”
When Su Yang heard this, he was rendered speechless.
‘Surprisingly, that makes sense. I’m just a passerby indeed.’
Little Deeny then said, “However, I still managed to extract some useful pop-up windows from the pack. Since the pop-up windows dissipated too quickly, I have taken screenshots and text records, so you can take a look when you have the time.”
After that, she pointed at the screen in front of Su Yang. “Also, I’ve opened up the most important pop-up windows which I think you should take a look at.”
As Su Yang looked at the pop-up windows, he analyzed what Little Deeny had just said. ‘She’s gotten rid of the useless pop-up windows, kept a record of the ones that she deems useful and opened up the important ones for me.
‘Perfect!
‘As expected of Little Deeny indeed, in just 10 seconds, she’s come up with a very reasonable solution. Looks like I’ll be able to use this ability freely in the future.’
After Su Yang was done thinking through his ability, he looked at the “important” pop-up window.
Amongst them, there was one about Chu Xia and another girl.
“My boyfriend really is Su Yang.”
“Stop joking already. If your boyfriend is Su Yang, then Wang Sicong is my boyfriend.
“Chu Xia... Just tell me who your boyfriend is, alright?”
“Forget it, you don’t deserve to know who my boyfriend is.”
‘Based on the interface, Chu Xia and this girl seem to be very close, they’re probably best friends. Overall, they’re probably talking about boyfriends. Chu Xia has already said that I’m her boyfriend, but the girl refuses to believe her, causing Chu Xia to feel helpless and not want to explain anymore.’
Looking at Chu Xia’s helpless expression on the screen, Su Yang smiled. ‘Her friend doesn’t even believe that I’m her boyfriend? This won’t do, I should help Chu Xia regain her status.
‘After all... I’m her boyfriend, so I’ve got to step up for her during crucial moments.
At that thought, Su Yang snapped his fingers. “Little Deeny, arrange a high-end restaurant in Shanghai.”
“Yes, Master.”
After instructing Little Deeny, Su Yang walked to his closet and began picking out his clothes...
In the cafe, Chu Xia and her best friend did not know that Su Yang had already found out about their conversation. Hence, they were still chatting about their relationships after their previous bicker.
Chu Xia asked, “How exactly do you feel about that handsome guy you just mentioned?”
“How do I feel?” Her best friend hesitated and looked up at the sky. After a while, she said, “Chu Xia, do you believe in love at first sight?”
Chu Xia thought about her relationship with Su Yang and shook her head. “I don’t really believe it. I believe that love grows with time instead.”
When her best friend heard this, she secretly smiled. However, after realizing that little cutie Chu Xia didn’t seem to understand the hidden meaning in her sentence, she did not explain what she meant but continued, “I do believe it though.
“That’s exactly what happened when I saw him. That day when I was at the bar, I instantly saw him through the bar and the dancing crowd.
“I used to think that love at first sight meant falling in love the moment we first met. But, when I really experienced it myself, I realized that what it really means is how we can’t forget about someone after we’ve first met them.’
Chu Xia said softly, “Does that mean you’ve become s*xually interested in him then?”
Her best friend rolled her eyes at Chu Xia. “Hmph, so what if I am? You just refuse to buck up. If you do and I was a handsome guy, I’d have my way with you. If that happens, do you think I’d let those useless men take advantage of you?”
Chu Xia blushed, “What’s it got to do with me?”
After her best friend successfully teased Chu Xia, she had a smug expression on her face as she quietly got closer to Chu Xia, “Now then, I’ve finished talking about my case. What about yours?”
“Mine?” Chu Xia’s thoughts drifted away. Gradually, she seemed to be talking to herself. “When I met him, it was the start of the university term. At the time, my mother was helping me with the enrollment procedures.
“Then, he walked over and patted me on the shoulder. When I turned around, he was basking in the sun as he smiled and said to me “Hi there, do you need any help?””
Chu Xia’s lips curled into a gentle smile at that point. “He probably thought I was a lost freshman.”
Her best friend then rolled her eyes and softly said, “Tactics.”
However, Chu Xia didn’t hear her and continued to say. “If you ask me how I ended up falling for him, I have no idea about that. Maybe it’s because... He found out my secret?”
Her best friend knew Chu Xia very well indeed as she said. “The secret about how you can’t do calculus?”
Chu Xia nodded. “That’s right. He kept his mouth shut and didn’t tell anyone about it the entire time. In fact, he neither looked down nor took pity on me.
“I was worried about it for a long time initially, but gradually, I realized that no one knew about it, and he actually did not seem to be bothered at all.
“Gradually, we became closer. Even though he developed himself faster and the gap between us gradually grew bigger, he did not treat me any differently. When I’m with him, it feels like I’m leaning against a warm shoulder, which feels very comfortable. I don’t have to pretend to be gentle and well-behaved, nor do I have to pretend as if I know everything.
“I can cry whenever I want, laugh whenever I want.
“He even took me out for a spin in his car and even ran away from having to pay the bill.”
At this point, Chu Xia cutely added, “Actually, it was all staged, he had footed the bill himself long ago.”
When she heard this, her best friend did not know whether to laugh or cry.
Then, Chu Xia continued, “However, he’s just too busy, I have no idea what he’s busy with though. However, his career is indeed developing at an increasingly fast rate, growing bigger and bigger as time passes. On top of that, he was even praised by the country on Weibo and was on the news yesterday...”
At that point, Chu Xia’s eyes sparkled. “I never thought the guy who asked me if I needed help would end up growing up to be such a man...”
At first, her best friend listened with interest, but gradually, she felt that something was wrong.
‘His career is developing at an increasingly fast rate?
‘Praised by the country on Weibo?
‘Plus, he was on the news yesterday?
‘He sounds like...
‘Su Yang!
‘What’s wrong with Chu Xia? Why is she so sure of herself that Su Yang’s her boyfriend?’
With that thought in mind, her best friend carefully probed, “Chu Xia, is the person you’re talking about young and promising, who’s ended up amassing a net worth of 10 billion yuan when he hasn’t even reached 20 years old?”
Chu Xia’s eyes lit up and she nodded. “Yes. How did you know that?”
Hearing Chu Xia’s words, her best friend thought to herself, ‘D*mn it... D*mn it. It really is Su Yang! Chu Xia has indeed gone crazy. I’ve never seen her acting like a love-struck fool in the past, yet why has she been acting like one towards Su Yang recently?’
Just as her best friend was thinking about this...
Suddenly, the sound of a sports car’s engine could be heard from outside the cafe.
The shocking noise instantly attracted everyone’s attention, including Chu Xia and her best friend, who could not help but look towards the direction of the noise.
In the end, just as everyone’s attention was focused in the same direction, a fiery red Ferrari galloped over from afar like a red stallion.
Based on the state and the speed the car was driving in... If they had not seen the car for themselves, most people would have suspected that it was coming from... A tank.
To be able to drive such a bright and light sports car that heavily like roadkill, there was probably no one else who could be capable of such unique driving skills!
On the other hand, when Chu Xia’s best friend saw the fiery red Ferrari, her eyes lit up. “Wow, it’s so beautiful!”
However, Chu Xia was a little lost in thought as she more or less made a guess in her heart. ‘Could it be him?’
Just as the two of them had different thoughts, the Ferrari swung its tail and made a cool stop by the roadside of the cafe.
After that, the door opened and a young man in a casual suit and a confident smile on his face got out of the car. Coupled with the Ferrari next to him, he looked extremely cool!
“What the f*ck?!” her best friend exclaimed in shock before yelling excitedly, “It’s Su Yang! It’s actually him!”
Because of the Ferrari, the crowd stopped to watch. At that moment, some people realized that the young man was Su Yang and started to whisper to each other.
After all, Su Yang had just held a cosmic-level press conference a few days ago, making him equal to half a celebrity at that moment.
Hence, everyone was curious about why Su Yang had gone to the cafe.
Because of this, everyone was looking at Su Yang when he walked in.
On top of that, Chu Xia’s best friend stared at Su Yang with widened eyes. Then, she shook Chu Xia and mumbled, “Chu Xia! It’s Su Yang! That Su Yang! He’s in the same cafe as us!”
The moment Chu Xia saw Su Yang, she knew that Su Yang was probably there to look for her. Hence, she was not surprised at all when Su Yang entered the cafe. However, her best friend shook her so hard that she almost died. Her eyes were dizzy and she whispered, “Be gentle, be gentle.”
After Su Yang entered the cafe, he began to look around. Actually, the cafe was not big, only about 30 to 40 square meters. Hence, he could easily see Chu Xia in the corner, and her best friend who was next to her.
When he saw her, Su Yang smiled and nodded at Chu Xia’s best friend before waving at her.
Hence, her best friend’s mind went completely blank before she screamed and shook Chu Xia. “Chu Xia! Chu Xia! Su Yang looked at me! He even smiled at me! Ahhhh!”
Chu Xia was thrown into tears of laughter at that moment.
‘Why is she even more excited about meeting Su Yang than I am?’
Actually, Su Yang also saw Chu Xia’s best friend’s excited expression. Although he was a little surprised, he didn’t really mind it.
Then, he walked over and said to Chu Xia, “My princess. Why didn’t you tell me you were having coffee here?”
Chu Xia blushed when Su Yang called her that. Even though she was feeling shy, she mustered her courage and looked up at Su Yang. “Because you left without saying goodbye that day.”
Hence, they both smiled at each other. In fact they both could see the love they had for each other in their eyes.
When Chu Xia’s best friend listened to what Su Yang had just said to Chu Xia and watched their interaction, shock was written all over her face.
Then, her mind was blank, and her mouth opened wide as the first thought that came to her mind was... ‘What the hell? Chu Xia and Su Yang are really a couple?’
Then, her second thought was... ‘Chu Xia actually didn’t lie to me? She really is Su Yang’s girlfriend? Oh my God!’
Her third thought was... ‘This is awesome! Just wonderful! My best friend’s boyfriend is actually Su Yang! This calls for a celebration! Wow!’
As those three thoughts flashed through her mind, she held Su Yang’s hand excitedly and said, “Hello! I’m Chu Xia’s best friend! Nice to meet you, Mr. Su!”
Su Yang smiled and said, “Nice to meet you too. I heard Chu Xia mention about you before. Thank you for taking care of her all these years.”
Her best friend quickly waved her hands and said, “No, that’s not true. She’s the one who’s been taking care of me. After all, she’s much smarter than me.”
Then, she let go of his hand instinctively and gave the two a chance to be alone. “Have a seat first. I’ll go get you a cup of coffee! What would you like to drink?”
Su Yang replied casually, “A cup of mocha please. I don’t know much about coffee actually.”
“Okay!” Her best friend quickly agreed and went to the cashier.
After she left, Chu Xia smiled and said to Su Yang, “You sure are very respectable. My best friend has never been so friendly to strangers before.”
Su Yang sat beside her and smiled. “When you have money, you will realize that everyone in this world is very friendly to you.”
Chu Xia understood what Su Yang meant and retorted, “She’s not that kind of materialistic person.”
Su Yang shook his head. “That’s not what I meant. It doesn’t necessarily mean that only materialistic people would treat the rich kindly. Actually, most people would do that.
“After all, the world has long but become a strange place. It’s as if you’d be deemed as smart, kind, brave, cultured, and all sorts of other stuff as long as you’re rich.
“When others do realize that you have flaws, they will only brush it off and tell themselves that you’ve definitely got other merits since you’re so rich.”
Chu Xia was listening, but it was unknown if she actually understood what Su Yang meant.
After that, Su Yang did not continue any further because he did not want to taint the innocence in Chu Xia’s heart.
After the two of them chatted for a while and talked about their respective matters, Chu Xia’s best friend returned to the table and joined in the conversation.
Chu Xia’s best friend was obviously well-mannered. Even though she was excited to meet Su Yang previously, she did not ask Su Yang all sorts of questions during their conversation. Instead, she merely went along with the flow of the conversation and occasionally shared her opinions.
After chatting for a while, Su Yang brought the two ladies out for a feast. After the meal, he drove the two of them home. The two of them were indeed best friends because they lived in the same neighborhood. Hence, Su Yang dropped them off at the entrance of the neighborhood.
After waiting for Chu Xia to wave her hand as they watched Su Yang’s Ferrari disappear into the distance, Chu Xia’s best friend looked around and directly hooked her arms around Chu Xia’s neck and smirked when she realized that no one was looking, “Chu Xia... Come here, let’s have a chat!”
