Chapter 287 Chu Xia Writes Her Novel In Su Yang’s Office Again!
Su Yang’s first reaction was to immediately call-off the project and recover his funds.
The moment that thought entered his mind, the system prompted him. [Beep! Possible cheating detected in Silver Mission. Please read the rules regarding cheating.)]
Su Yang was speechless.
‘What rules regarding cheating? There’s one for the Silver Mission?’
The rules were that money spent on that particular silver mission couldn’t be subsequently recovered. If the lock-in period is violated, the corresponding Silver Points will be deducted. Should there be insufficient Silver Points, 5 Bronze Points will be deducted. Should there be insufficient Bronze Points, 25 Random Points will be deducted.
Should there be insufficient Random Points, the items gained from point addition will be randomly repossessed. Should there be insufficient items for repossession, a mandatory mission will be enacted until the sum is repaid.
‘It’s extremely harsh!’
Su Yang certainly didn’t have any silver points to deduct now so he couldn’t help but feel a little frustrated!
‘Does the system think it’s easy to make this 5 million?! It’s what I got from Young Master Ying... I got it from him after so much effort...
‘Heck, the entire Qidian E-commerce doesn’t even make 5 million yuan in half a year! Now, it’s all gone down the drain!’
Seeing Su Yang like this, Little Hus immediately continued, “Su Yang, don’t get too excited just yet. I’m not saying this project is going to flop.”
Su Yang’s eyes lit up. “What do you mean? Are you saying this drama can be a hit?”
Little Hus shook its head. “That’s not it either.”
It was rare for the dog to have a very torn expression on his face. This husky pillow was a fierce figure that usually wore an expression like it wanted to bite someone so having an expression like this seemed rather unusual. “How should I put it... I actually smelled the scent, and it was a very strong one. However, I also smell a stench. A very strong stench.”
Su Yang was puzzled. “Does this mean that it may or may not be profitable?”
Little Hus shook his head. “No. If that is the case, there’d be no scent. After all, everything has two sides, and its scent is a representation of a very, very high chance of success.”
Su Yang was completely confused.
Little Hus deliberated over his choice of words, then said, “I doubt it. I suspect your movie’s box office profits versus the viewers’ reviews will be complete polar opposites. In that case, you might make a lot of money, but the movie itself will be scorned by everyone. Or, you might make an extremely good movie, but you won’t make any money out of it.” “After all, having a good return from the box office sales is considered an opportunity, and so are the good reviews. Losing money is the stench, and so is having a bad reputation.”
After hearing Little Hus say that, Su Yang was completely relieved!
‘That’s how bad the script is... Since it can’t be a god-tier movie, there must be money to be made!’
Seeing Su Yang’s relieved expression, Little Hus was a little confused. “Why do you seem happy?”
Su Yang smiled mysteriously. “Nothing. I just figured something out.”
Little Hus gave Su Yang a husky stare, jumped off the table, and said, “How suspicious.” Then, it patted his butt and walked away.
Su Yang grunted and put the papers on the table away. Since the movie wouldn’t lose money, Su Yang had nothing to worry about. As for the reviews... Su Yang never cared much for them.
At most, he’d hold off from investing in a second movie. After all, it wasn’t like he was planning to enter the acting and entertainment industry..
As for Lin Jiali, well... These things probably wouldn’t affect her all that much. The script was obviously out to ruin a person’s childhood, and if there was blame to be had, it would be directed toward the two leading actors and would have nothing to do with the female lead.
Even if it did affect her, it didn’t really matter. Su Yang also had carefully considered taking in this top female artist under his own banner over the past few days. Since Lin Jiali had a face that was too bright to the point where it had no appeal to the general audience, she could simply go down the route of slowly gaining positive fame from negative tabloids after being under the spotlight for some time. Since the main roles would be mocked by others, there might be people who’d prefer stars like Lin Jiali who was both unique and straightforward.
After all, she had gone through several agents who couldn’t boost her into stardom through conventional methods so this could be a possible avenue.
‘Hmm... This star-management game is really fun!’
Since he went out this morning, Su Yang decided to take a day off and relax at home.
Although that was what he had in mind, the heavens obviously didn’t think so.
At 1:00 pm, Su Yang received a call from Chu Xia.
Chu Xia asked, “Su Yang... What are you doing?”
Su Yang was lying on the sofa and was wearing the Salted Fish Mask. He was playing a game while relaxing as a salty fish.
Recently he found a very fun game called ‘King Pesticide’ and felt that the game would soon become immensely popular because he had so much fun playing his character, Houyi. “Me? I’m working out.” Chu Xia didn’t have the slightest doubt. “Wow, you’re so diligent.”
Su Yang laid on his back on the sofa with his legs crossed and casually launched a (Burning Sun Arrow) attack before he muttered. “Of course. I can’t wait to show you my six-pack abs.”
Chu Xia blushed on the other end of the phone line. However, she replied, “Pfft... Who wants to see your abs.”
The (Burning Sun Arrow) attack penetrated all the way to the opponent’s fountain without even hitting a single person. “I never take advantage of other people. Since I’ve seen yours, I’ll definitely show you mine.”
Chu Xia was speechless.
“This guy is really getting shameless!’
Chu Xia decided to change the subject. “Okay, I don’t want to joke around anymore. Actually, I’ve got something to ask of you.”
Su Yang asked lazily, “What is it?”
Chu Xia requested, “Can you bring me to your office again to write my novel? I... It seems like I’m uninspired once I leave you.”
Chu Xia wasn’t lying. After she went home last night, she wanted to write a few more chapters of her novel while she was in a good state of mind so she could have a stockpile. However, she ended up staring blankly at her desktop with nothing going through her mind.
Her inspiration from yesterday afternoon had all but disappeared!
Her brain felt like a field that had been drought-stricken for a long time and was on the verge of cracking.
At first she thought she was writing too much in the afternoon. However, she got up earlier today but sat in front of the computer for the whole morning without writing a single word.
She felt like she was done for... It was like she really needed Su Yang for inspiration, truly not believing for one second that it was the feng shui of Su Yang’s office. Instead, her inspiration seemed to stem from Su Yang’s presence.
‘I seem to be very inspired whenever I see Su
Yang.
“Maybe it’s because... Is it because he’s her leading male character in my novel?’
Su Yang didn’t think about it that much. He looked at the time and said somewhat salaciously, “How about tomorrow.”
After all, he was having a lot of fun with his game right now.
Chu Xia was petulant. “Please, please—”.
Su Yang crossed his legs, his hand moving around as fiercely as a tiger, “Why are you in such a hurry?”
Chu Xia was a little embarrassed and said, “I updated all 10 chapters at once last night. Hehehe. I don’t have any stockpiles today but the readers are still hungry for more chapters.”
Looking at his gray screen from losing his character in a battle, Su Yang put his game aside. “With that pair of A cups you have, it’s normal to be hungry.”
Chu Xia was speechless
‘Again! Again! Are we done with this conversation? It’s annoying! ‘I’m going to stop being friends with him! I MUST break off our friendship!
‘Wait... Just wait till my novel is finished, I’ll stop being friends with him then!’
Chu Xia secretly made a small resolution.
‘Su Yang is such a nuisance! Serves him right that no girl wants to be around him.’ After teasing Chu Xia for a while, Su Yang tore off the salty mask on his face. As motivation returned to his body, he said, “Okay. I’ll see you at the company then. Call me when you get there.”
Chu Xia nodded like a chicken pecking at the phone. “Okay, okay. Thank you, Young Master.”
Su Yang made a ‘haughty’ sound from his nose. “You’re welcome.”
He got up and washed his face. After cleaning up, Su Yang strolled to the company. Since Chu Xia asked for his help, he would have to oblige.
As he arrived at the company, the lady at the front desk was daydreaming at her desk.
Su Yang knocked on the table. “Time to greet your customers, young lady.”
The lady at the front desk woke up from being distracted. Then, she stood up in a hurry and said in a bit of panic, “Su... Director Su. Sorry, I got distracted.”
Su Yang waved his hand. “It’s fine. You can play with your phone if you’re bored.”
The lady at the front desk’s eyes lit up as she sincerely thanked him, “Thank you, Director Su.”
Su Yang nodded before instructing her, “A lady with the surname Chu might come to our company later, just bring her to my office directly.”
The lady at the front desk continuously nodded her head, “Okay, okay.”
When Su Yang went into his office, the lady at the front desk looked at Su Yang’s back, gossip brewing in her mind. “Director Su has never invited a girl to the company before. Could it be...”
Thinking of this, the front desk lady smiled like a thief as the flames of gossip flared within her.
With Su Yang’s permission, the lady at the front desk relaxed and began playing with her phone.
However, she was still very ‘dedicated to work despite playing with her phone. Her eyes were focused on the corridor of the company. To some extent, she worked even more seriously.
Soon, the sound of footsteps could be heard from the corridor.
Following the sound of footsteps, a small foot wearing white canvas shoes was first seen by the front desk lady.
It was followed by smooth, slim, long, and straight legs that seemed rather toned even without stockings. The front desk lady was tempted to touch it.
Then, a very good-looking girl with a sweet smile on her face appeared in front of the company.
V
She was wearing an appropriately short skirt that showed off her two drool-worthy legs along with a small blouse tucked into her skirt, making her look youthful and fashionable. Arriving at the front desk, she leaned slightly towards the front desk lady and said with a sweet voice, “Hello, my name is Chu Xia, I’m looking for Su Yang.” The lady at the front desk looked at Chu Xia. She could only feel that this girl was simply too beautiful. In fact, she was like a fairy that came out of a painting..
She felt that Director Su was simply too blessed.
The lady spoke, “Director Su has informed me about it earlier. I’ll take you to him now.” A smile blossomed on Chu Xia’s face. “Thank you.”
Then, led by the lady at the front desk, the two of them walked through the lobby of Qidian E-Commerce directly to Su Yang’s general manager’s office.
When Chu Xia came yesterday, it was Sunday and there was no one in the office lobby. However, today was Monday and all the employees were at work, so Chu Xia felt like it was a stark contrast because there were people at every workstation, and everyone was smiling and working with passion.
When they saw Chu Xia come in, they glanced over curiously. Some of them were looking at Chu Xia while quietly gossiping with the people next to them. However, they didn’t forget to work. She even saw someone smiling while talking as they sent over some documents.
It could be seen that they were working very happily. Chu Xia couldn’t help but develop a feeling of admiration for Su Yang.
‘It really isn’t easy to start a company from scratch and make the employees so passionate. I’m sure he must be very busy every single day, right? ‘Next semester, I can’t always blame him for not coming to school. I should be more understanding...’
