Chapter 718 - Cao Qiguang’s Arrogance
As he said that, he pressed the play button and the video started playing.
With just one glance, Su Yang realized that the video was taken by a surveillance camera. Moreover, it was a surveillance Camera located in a parking lot.
There were three people on the camera. A man was talking to a woman, while the other man ran in from outside the video and sent a flying kick towards the first man..
After the first man fell to the ground, the second man did not stop there and continued to punch and kick the man on the ground.
Since the first man did not have the energy to fight back, he could only cover his head and defend himself. At that moment, the woman finally snapped out of her daze and rushed to stop the fight, which marked the end of the video.
After that, Su Yang looked up at the director of the legal department and asked, “What’s this...?”
The director of the legal department took a look at Zhao Licheng and said, “This is the entire incident of your subordinate beating up Mr. Cao on tape. Based on the video, you can see that Mr. Cao was beaten up unilaterally. Your subordinate was not defending himself, nor was he acting bravely for a just cause. Instead, he had straight up started beating others, which is no different from a thug.”
Su Yang listened to him quietly and smiled. Then, he said to Zhao Licheng, “No wonder even Old Jia was helpless about your case. How is this a fight when it’s clearly a one-sided fight?”
After he said that, Su Yang looked at the man before him and asked, “So, why are you showing me this video then?”
The man in front of Su Yang said, “Actually, this isn’t my idea, but Mr. Cao’s. Mr. Cao isn’t going to hold a grudge and is willing to stop coming against your subordinate and have the police drop the charges.”
Su Yang pondered. ‘Cao Qiguang first said that he’s willing to reconcile, then he’s come and brought out concrete evidence. It’s obvious that he’s trying to subtly threaten me and bring me a “gift”. So, what he’s trying to do is to reconcile not because he knows that he won’t win, but because he’s confident that he’s going to win, but is willing to give me some face and reconcile.
‘If that’s the case, then this has just become interesting, why is he going through so much to do this?
‘To please me?
‘Then again, I mustn’t forget that our grudge isn’t just because of Zhao Licheng’s incident, but also because I’ve beaten him up before.
‘Is it possible that he’s afraid of me because he couldn’t find any evidence that I had actually hit him?’
Whilst he was confused, Su Yang asked curiously, “Does he have any requests then?”
A relaxed smile appeared on the man’s face. “Actually, it’s not considered a request, but a proposal to a win-win solution.
“In order to reconcile, Mr. Cao has shown his sincerity. Thus, he hopes that you’re able to show your sincerity as well.”
At that point, Su Yang knew that the main show was about to start. Hence, he asked, “How would he like for me to show my sincerity then?”
The man said, “Mr. Cao hopes to form a close working relationship with your company and become partners who would help each other in times of need.”
Su Yang frowned. “Do you have a detailed proposal?”
The man nodded. “Mr. Cao hopes to invest in Jiadian Group, or Jiadian Technology.”
Su Yang was stunned.
‘An investment?
‘Normally, it would be a good thing if a larger company wanted to invest in a smaller company, this would mean that the smaller company’s capital is acknowledged by the market. After all, for an investor, investing in a project is very risky. There’s a high chance that their investment might end up in smoke... Worst of all, bankruptcy.
‘However, this is only in a “normal” situation, but I’m not a normal person at all. I’ve got my system, a heap of special items and little monsters. So, it’s almost guaranteed that my company will succeed.
‘Amongst all my companies, Jiadian Technology is the one with the highest chance with a project that can change the world.
‘Jiadian Technology is the company that’s going to manufacture and sell electronic products amongst the entire group. Just the glass phone on its own will probably become one of the top 10 or even the top 5 super-large corporations in the world. So, Cao Qiguang actually has his eyes on this company?’
Once this crucial piece of information was revealed, Su Yang pieced together all the clues.
He suspected that after distributing the prototype a few days ago, it would definitely cause a huge commotion among the upper echelons of Shanghai. Thus, Cao Qiguang must have also found out about this and might have even seen the prototype with his own eyes.
Therefore, Cao Qiguang knew the potential of both Su Yang and his company. On top of that, Cao Qiguang also knew that once the glass phone started mass production, it was very likely that Su Yang would become a real giant, thus explaining why Cao Qiguang had hurriedly sent someone over to reconcile with Su Yang.
‘Then again, this man is really ambitious. I’m fine with reconciling, but he’s actually trying to take advantage of the situation and grab a piece of the pie for himself... Wait, pie’s an understatement, he’s trying to hog a whole slab of meat for himself. That greedy b*stard and his wishful thinking...’
Even though he had already labeled Cao Qiguang as a greedy b*stard in his heart, Su Yang still maintained his composure and asked, “Did Mr. Cao say how much shares he wants?”
When the man heard Su Yang’s words, he thought that Su Yang was tempted.
After all, he had never seen Jiadian’s cellphone before, nor did he know how terrifying Su Yang’s trump card was. In the eyes, not only was his boss willing to reconcile about the matter, he was even willing to invest in Su Yang’s company. Thus, the man thought that even a fool would happily accept it.
Therefore, he said proudly, “Mr. Cao has said that if you are willing to accept his offer, he would be willing to talk to you personally. The range is between 10% to 40%. Plus, he won’t affect your absolute control over the shares.”
Su Yang laughed out loud as his fury welled.
‘10%?
‘40%?!
‘Cao Qiguang really is insatiable indeed!
‘Jiadian is obviously a product of a different era. If you were to compare my company to other companies in the world, Apple for example... How much is Apple’s market value right now? USD 1.33 trillion! That’s close to 10 trillion yuan!
‘So, how much would 10% of the shares cost? USD 1 trillion! That would be USD 4 trillion for 40% shares in return!
‘A minor portion of that amount is already enough to buy over 10 Xinli Educations!
‘Yet, he still has the audacity to say that he won’t affect my absolute control over my shares?
‘Is he even worthy of doing so in the first place?!
‘Pui!’
At the thought of this, Su Yang did not have the mood to continue the conversation. He did not even have the mood to ask for more information and simply scolded, “Tell Cao Qiguang to p*ss off! Tell him that unless he kneels in front of me and begs me, forget about my shares, I’ll take over Xinli Education from him altogether!”
The man in front of him did not expect Su Yang to turn hostile just like that. Hence, he was stunned.
However, he was smart enough to snap out of his daze. Pointing at Su Yang, he said, “You... How could you not know what’s good for you? It would be your honour to have him investing in your company! Wouldn’t it be a good idea to take the money and develop your company?”
Su Yang pointed at the door and repeated, “P*ss off!”
The argument in the office had obviously attracted the attention of the employees. After a while, a few employees who had come to see the situation earlier dragged the man out.
After he left, Su Yang suppressed the anger in his heart. He looked at Zhao Licheng and said, “I realized that Cao Qiguang seems to have gotten carried away with making Xinli Education publicly listed. He obviously thinks highly of our company, but he’s putting on airs with that larger company. I feel that he has been high and mighty for too long and has forgotten how to humble himself already.
“Even one of his employees has the same arrogance as he does after their company is going to be publicly listed.
“I only have one request, which is to obliterate Xinli Education as soon as possible! I don’t want to see this person gloat in front of me ever again.
“Honestly, I feel a little nauseous because of him!”
Then, Zhao Licheng bowed deeply to Su Yang. “As you wish.”
With that, Zhao Licheng returned to his office and took out the entire plan he had drawn up against Xinli Education.
Not only did it clearly state what he was going to do, it also stated all of Xinli Education’s recent plans and Zhao Licheng’s countermeasures against those very plans.
It was obvious that Zhao Licheng had not drawn up such an intricate plan at the last minute. Instead, he had been preparing a long time ago. It would seem that Zhao Licheng had not been idling by for the past month.
After Su Yang finished reading the plan, he felt that it was very detailed and thorough.
Zhao Licheng stood at the side. When he saw that Su Yang had put down his plan, he took the initiative to say, “Mr. Su, I’ve confirmed all the time points. They’re all data obtained from an insider, so I can say with confidence that the information is absolutely accurate.”
Su Yang nodded and asked, “How is Wei Lin doing?”
Wei Lin was the genius stock trader that Su Yang had summoned previously.
At the time, Su Yang had given him a sum of money to go to Hong Kong to operate the stock market there. After half a month, in order to prove his capability, Wei Lin had used 10 million yuan to earn 3 million yuan in return.
After that, Su Yang handed him over to Zhao Licheng along with all of his funds in Hong Kong.
Zhao Licheng couldn’t help but smile at the mention of Wei Lin. “He’s earned 120 million yuan within a month with the 300 million yuan capital he has in his hands. It was such a large operation, yet he was able to receive a return of 40% in such a short time, he’s literally a genius.”
‘40%...’
Truth be told, Su Yang did not think much of this return rate. This was because he had Little Hus, allowing him to easily double his capital.
However, Su Yang was not an unreasonable person. He knew that the only reason he could earn so much was because he had cheated.
Wei Lin, on the other hand, was able to earn such a huge amount of money without any external modifications, thus he could be considered a super genius.
‘His keen insight towards the market situation, his knowledge of the stock market and risk control are all top-notch.’
At that thought, Su Yang called Little Deeny. “Little Deeny, show me Wei Lin’s trading history.”
A moment later, Su Yang heard Little Deeny’s voice. “Master, I’ve sent it to your phone.”
Hence, Su Yang took out his phone and took a look.
‘Almost all the transactions he made were profitable, only one out of ten of them would incur losses.
‘His choice of stocks is simply shocking.’
What was even more shocking was that when Su Yang looked at the amount of shares traded, he realized that the shares that had increased were usually half or even 70%. For example, Su Yang saw a few shares that were worth 200 million yuan or so which had increased by 10% to 15%.
On the other hand, the other stocks that had a low increase, such as 2% or 3%, only had tens of millions of yuan invested in them only.
That was not all. In those stocks that were losing money, Su Yang found out that the largest trade made was only 10 million yuan. In that trade, Wei Lin had only lost about a million yuan before he liquidated everything.
This meant that Wei Lin already had a whole set of logic and operation methods to earn money.
What’s more, he had only been operating in the stock market for a little over a month only.
Hence, Su Yang could not hide the surprise in his eyes. ‘I might have really unearthed a... God Of Stock Trading.’
With Wei Lin’s achievements, Su Yang had a lot more confidence in his skills.
‘The only problem now is... If I want to snipe Xinli Education, 400 million yuan isn’t going to be enough. I need more money.
‘The billions of yuan in my hands have yet to be transferred to Hong Kong. This is a huge problem.’
After pondering for a long time, Su Yang felt that it was time to use the ability that he had been holding back...
At the same time, the man who was chased out by Su Yang’s company had also driven back to Xinli Education.
Xinli Education was located on the 39th floor of the Bailian Building. As he got on the elevator and went into the office. The man suppressed his anger as he went to the general manager’s office.
After he arrived at the door of the general manager’s office, the man took a few deep breaths and tried his best to calm himself down. He knew that Cao Qiguang did not like underlings who were not able to control their emotions...
After calming down, he knocked on the door.
“Knock, knock, knock.”
A moment later, Cao Qiguang’s deep voice came from the office. “Come in.”
The man walked in and greeted respectfully, “Mr. Cao.”
Cao Qiguang was sitting at his desk, looking down at his documents. As if he had not heard the man’s greeting, he continued to read his documents as if no one else was around.
The title of the document read, “quarterly financial report”.
After reading the document, he picked up the pen and signed his name on the bottom of the document.
After signing, he closed the document and slammed it on the table. With a “Bang!” The man shivered.
After putting down the documents, Cao Qiguang looked at the man in front of him and asked, “You’ve failed?”
Even though he was asking, his tone was very certain. Obviously, he knew his subordinate very well.
The man nodded fearfully. “Yes... That’s right, Mr. Cao.”
Cao Qiguang looked at him for a long time. After a while, he said expressionlessly, “Tell me what happened.”
When the man heard that, he felt as though he had been granted amnesty and quickly recounted his conversation with Su Yang and the reaction Su Yang gave.
This man probably knew that Cao Qiguang hated it when his subordinates lied to him, so he told the truth and did not dare to exaggerate.
Cao Qiguang listened quietly and thought for a long time. Then, he waved his hand. “You may leave.”
“Understood!” The man quickly bowed and left the room that was filled with gloom.
After leaving the room, the man touched his forehead and realized that he was sweating profusely. Hence, he just wanted to find someplace to calm himself...
After the man left, Cao Qiguang sat on his chair and pondered.
It was just as Su Yang had expected. A few days ago, when Cao Qiguabg was attending a gathering with the upper echelons of Shanghai, he accidentally saw a glass phone.
Even though he was cruel in his tactics, he had a good eye in judgement. Thus, the moment he saw the glass phone, he knew that it was a cellphone that could change the entire cellphone industry.
Of course, success was not guaranteed, but subversion was definitely possible.
After all, this was a product that exceeded its era.
Therefore, after he returned, Cao Qiguang secretly asked around within the industry to find out which company had produced the glass phone.
Then... He found out that it was Su Yang.
When Cao Qiguang found out that the glass phone was developed by Su Yang’s company, he was first shocked, but then he was delighted...
