Su Yang was surprised.
‘What?’
He looked at the system notification again and confirmed that he was right.
Then he was surprised.
‘Could this be... resurrection?
‘I can resurrect people?’
Perhaps the Reincarnation Circus knew what Su Yang was thinking. The line of words on the notebook disappeared and a new line of words appeared.
[The person who is brought back into the Burning Reincarnation Circus can become an actor. After becoming an actor, they are able to be free from the sufferings of reincarnation should they become No. 1 through their performance.]
Su Yang understood after reading the explanation.
‘I was right, this function isn’t as simple as it looks.
‘It turns out I can’t resurrect others directly. Instead, I have to turn them into actors first and they will have to fight till the end and become the champion. After that, they will only become [Permanent Actors] after I’ve approved them.
‘But what exactly is this [Permanent Actor]?’
Su Yang was really curious.
Just as he was thinking about it, the words disappeared and portraits of people appeared on the paper. The portraits included both men and women that Su Yang either knew or are acquainted with.
For example, there were the parents of Su Yang’s deskmate who sat beside him that passed away in a car accident, Su Yang’s senior who drowned in the water and the housewife from Su Yang’s village who was domestically abused to death etc.
Looking at the name list, Su Yang realized, ‘I didn’t know that so many people around me have died unknowingly.
‘I hope I’m not a jinx.
‘However, if this notebook were to fall into the hands of an elementary school student in Japan, I believe the number of pages on this notebook will be a spectacular sight to see.’
Su Yang flipped through his notes and realized that something was amiss, none of his relatives were in there.
Su Yang flipped through the list once more. However, he very quickly scrolled through the entire list since it only consisted of 2 to 3 pages only.
He was sure that none of his relatives were including. Of course, his grandparents who had passed away weren’t included in the notebook as well.
‘What the hell is going on...
‘Could it be that my relatives will not be included in the [Burning Fate]?
‘What’s this [Burning Fate] exactly?
‘Could it be something that could affect the living?’
This time, the notebook did not answer Su Yang’s question.
‘It’s possible that the answers from just now were purely coincidences since both system notifications match up perfectly.’
Since there was no one close to him on the list, Su Yang did not care about who was resurrected. He casually flipped through the list to see if there was anyone he was interested in reviving.
Su Yang completely ignored those whom he had never socialized with as he scrolled through.
Soon, he reached the last page.
When he saw the last portrait on the last page, Su Yang gasped softly.
He quickly looked at the name under the portrait, “Wang Shan”.
‘Wang Shan was actually in here?’
Su Yang was surprised.
But thinking about it, it made sense. Wang Shan was much closer to him compared to the others in the list.
For example, Su Yang only met his deskmate’s parents once or twice but were already included in the list
Therefore, it would be normal for Wang Shan to be included in the list since Su Yang had avenged her and was quite close to her best friend. He even donated money to her parents in the past.
Su Yang flipped through the list again and confirmed that there was no one else that he was interested in.
He could not help but think, ‘Why don’t I give Wang Shan the spot this time?’
Su Yang thought about it and felt that it would work, hence he clicked on Wang Shan’s portrait and a notification popped up in front of him.
[Are you sure you would like to burn the fate of this person and bring them back to the Burning Reincarnation Circus?]
Su Yang clicked on [Yes].
A moment later, Wang Shan’s portrait slowly burned into ashes and disappeared from the paper. Then, another person appeared on the stage.
It was a slender girl. She had long, black hair and a well-proportioned body. She was not particularly beautiful, but she looked very pitiful.
Su Yang was familiar with her because he had seen this girl many times in Young Master Chen’s memory.
Wang Shan seemed to be at a loss when she arrived at this place. She looked at the stage in front of her in a panic and then froze on the spot as if she had heard something.
After a while, she gave Su Yang a complicated look and bowed to him silently.
Su Yang heard a notification by his ear.
[You are free to give out any orders to your actors.]
‘Give out any orders to my actors?
‘What does that mean?’
Su Yang sat on the chair and looked at Wang Shan. He ordered, “Dance.”
Wang Shan bowed to Su Yang once again and left.
Darkness slowly descended on the stage. After a while, a circular light fell on the stage, and Wang Shan appeared in the light.
She slowly stretched her body and began to dance like a proud swan. Her dance was graceful and moving, like an angel who had descended into the mortal world to convey her thoughts.
She was struggling and complaining about her fate.
Like a moth drawn to a flame, she threw herself at the flame without complaint.
Su Yang was stunned by the dance.
He gave Wang Shan a round of applause without hesitation.
Wang Shan smiled and bowed to Su Yang before slowly leaving the stage.
That smile was very sincere.
Darkness descended once more and a notification appeared before Su Yang.
[You may ask for any actor to appear on stage and give them your orders.]
‘Hang on, this function didn’t seem to exist before.
‘Could this be a function caused by [Burning Reincarnation Circus +2]?’
Then, Su Yang released a few other actors including Little Monster Beans, Zhao Xiao, a viper and a monkey. Regardless of what life form they were, they would act according to Su Yang’s orders.
For example, when Su Yang ordered a Little Monster Bean to roll on the spot, it would hug its head and roll on the spot, moving completely according to his commands.
Su Yang was astounded by the [Burning Reincarnation Circus].
‘The command I have here is too powerful, each and everyone on stage are like my puppets.’
Then, Su Yang flipped to the first page and chose [Check the Actors]. Naturally, Wang Shan appeared at the last page.
[‘From the looks of it, [Burning Fate] would burn away a person’s fate and drag them back to the [Burning Reincarnation Circus]. However, I have no idea if {Burning Fate] has other effects that I’m unaware of.
‘I might be able to erase this person’s trace from the world or even make them disappear from other people’s memories etc.
‘However, I will need to go outside and verify if this is the case.’
After selecting the other options, Su Yang was prepared to watch the performance.
He clicked on [Watch The Performance] and a notification appeared before him.
[Please choose the actor whom you want to watch their performance.]
‘This choice didn’t appear last time and the system would automatically decide who participated in the performance. I believe this new choice is probably brought upon by the +2.’
Su Yang clicked on [Select Actors].
Then the portraits of all the actors appeared before him again.
Su Yang did not choose Zhao Xiao and the rest. Instead, he chose a few Little MOnster Beans and Wang Shan.
‘I have no interests in watching my enemies perform and kill one another even if they were to be selected. Even if they do win, I won’t approve of them to become permanent actors.
‘Therefore, instead of looking at my enemies, I’d much rather look at Wang Shang and the Little Monster Beans.’
After choosing the actors, Su Yang clicked [Confirm].
As Su Yang confirmed his choice, the lights in the circus dimmed, and the stage turned dark.
After a while, a beam of light hit the circus stage, and a few figures appeared on the stage. One was very tall, and the other few were only the size of dolls. They were obviously Wang Shan and 5 Little Monster Beans.
They lined up on the stage and smiled at Su Yang before bowing deeply.
After they bowed, wisps of black gas emanated from their bodies before they slowly disappeared.
An emotionless voice rang in Su Yang’s mind.
[The show begins]
‘It’s finally starting...’
Perhaps because neither of them were Su Yang’s enemy, he did not feel any cold or weird sensation.
The next scene was similar to the first one. The characters would enter the stage one by one before leaving pitifully. The only difference was that this time, the stage was filled with Little Monster Beans of different styles.
Some carried knives, some carried axes, some wore headscarves and some wore masks. All in all, each of them had their own unique style.
However, the problem was that Su Yang chose five Little Monster Beans, which resulted in more than 30 Little Monster Beans appearing on the stage. It was so dazzling that it was hard to see clearly.
There was another strange thing. The Little Monster Beans had various styles and characters, but there was only one Wang Shan. She appeared on stage in a panic and soon, a Little Monster Bean split her head with an axe and killed her instantly.
The scene was as bloody as it could get.
As the fight between the Little Monster Beans grew more intense, the atmosphere became colder and stranger. Su Yang felt goosebumps all over his body.
In the end, there were only two Little Monster Beans left on the stage. One was the Little Monster Bean that killed Wang Shan and the other was a Little Monster Bean that wielded a whip.
The final battle between the 2 Little Monster Beans took place with both sides fighting for half an hour before the Little Monster Bean with the whip finally won.
[The show has ended]
After the emotionless reminder appeared, the stage was shrouded in darkness and the circus lights came back on. It was as if nothing had happened. All the obstacles on the stage, the mountain of Little Monster Bean corpses and the dead Wang Shan had all disappeared without a trace, it was like everything was just an illusion.
Su Yang picked up the notebook. Just like the last time, the option [Reverse Reincarnation] turned from gray to black. He could now choose...
‘So... should I make the Little Monster Bean with the whip a permanent actor?’
Su Yang hesitated.
