It took Su Yang two seconds to realize that Zhao Licheng was referring to the 500 million yuan shares in Xinli Education.
He could not help but ask, “What’s wrong?”
Then, Zhao Licheng explained everything to Su Yang over the phone.
It turned out that he knew Old Cao very well. Therefore, after realizing Old Cao’s motive, he called his other partner, Old Zhang.
His plan was simple. He wanted to know what Old Cao’s plan was. If it was feasible, then he would continue to consider buying the shares.
If it was not possible... Then he would first see if he could save the company. If it was not redeemable, then he would change the plan
What happened next was simple.
Old Zhang initially used the excuse of it being a company secret and was unwilling to reveal Old Cao’s plan.
However, Zhao Licheng knew Old Zhang very well. Hence, he took 12% of his wife’s shares and said that they were the major shareholders of the company and had the right to know about the company’s plans. After that, he tried to persuade Old Zhang to talk.
However, he realized that the plan that Old Cao wanted to implement was a plan that he rejected when he was still alive. It was a plan that could drag the whole company into the mud...
Hence, after learning about this plan, Zhao Licheng wanted to stop it immediately. However, with his current status, he could not stop it at all!
Therefore, he placed his hopes on Old Zhang. He hoped that Old Zhang could take charge of the situation and was willing to sell most of his shares to Old Zhang at a normal price, only asking for a portion to be left for Su Yang.
But... Old Zhang refused.
This was because Old Zhang did not want to compete with Old Cao for the management rights of the company, plus he did not have the cash to buy the shares. He only wanted to wait for the company’s IPO and collect some cash for his retirement.
Other than his personality, Zhao Licheng’s death was the main reason he had such thoughts.
Zhao Licheng’s death made Old Zhang understand that there was no end to running a company. It would only continue to be tough as the company grew bigger. This often made people neglect the more important things around them.
For example, family and health...
Therefore, he only wanted to take the money and spend time with his family. He felt like he had forgotten about his son for many years and in the blink of an eye, his son was already in primary school. He did not want to miss out on the rest of his son’s life.
Zhao Licheng was stunned.
‘I didn’t expect the company to change so drastically after my death, plus it’s already changed to this state.
‘What... What should I do?’
Zhao Licheng lived up to his reputation as a five-star talent. Even though he did not have a ruthless personality, he did not lack decisiveness!
Therefore, after compiling all the information, he quickly determined that the situation was irreversible, so everything should be taken into account to obtain the greatest benefits.
Therefore, after thinking for five minutes, he made a decision!
He wanted to sell all the stocks to Old Cao! He wanted Old Cao to gain control of the company! He wanted to push for Old Cao to carry out his plan and continue to get it listed!
After going public, Zhao Licheng would then use this money to go all in on short when Xinli Education’s stock reached its highest point!
As the founder of Xinli Education and a friend of Old Cao and Old Zhang, he knew how feasible Old Cao’s plan was. He also knew how much trouble the company would face without him and Old Zhang!
Therefore, Xinli Education would definitely collapse!
At that time, the stock price of Xinli Education would fall drastically, while he and Su Yang would benefit greatly!
Su Yang was dumbfounded.
‘Are all business elites so ruthless? To turn the tables completely when they discover that the plan is not feasible, going from buying stocks to going short...
‘However, I must say that Zhao Licheng’s plan is indeed feasible. After all, there is no limit to how short one can go in Hong Kong stocks, nor do they limit its growth and decline.
‘If Old Cao’s plan will really collapse, then the stock price of Xinli Education could fall by 34% a day.
‘After all, there was a miracle in Hong Kong where stocks fell 98%.’
Therefore, after chatting for an hour, their new target was to snipe Xinli Education.
Su Yang was excited at the thought of sniping a company founded by his own subordinate.
He could not help but ask Zhao Licheng, “Licheng, don’t you feel weird or sad that you’re targeting a company that you founded?”
Zhao Licheng said, “Mr. Su, to be honest, I do. But as an adult, rationality is essential. I’m no longer the original Zhao Licheng and my Xinli Education is no longer what it used to be.”
“Now that my identity has been decided, I cannot return to that company. I will only consider my gains and losses with interest.”
Su Yang nodded thoughtfully.
‘When a relationship is gone, it only depends on benefits? That seems normal actually.’
With that thought in mind, Su Yang said, “Alright, it’s decided then. You can handle this matter. I’ll wait for your news.”
Zhao Licheng replied, “Yes, Mr. Su.”
Su Yang pondered after hanging up.
Even though he could earn a lot of profits by going short on Xinli Education, it did not match his goal. His Silver Mission required him to invest in a company, plus it had to cost more than 500 million yuan. Therefore, he had to continue to think of ways to invest in a new company.
‘But, where am I supposed to find such a good opportunity...’
Su Yang was worried...
At night, Su Yang sent Sanque back to his rented apartment before returning home.
When he reached home, Tang Jing was already back. She was wearing her business attire and an apron. She was serving food to the table.
Tang Xiaomi, the little cutie, tiptoed on the dining table and stared at the food on the table. It seemed that if Tang Jing did not pay attention, she would grab something to eat.
Su Yang walked over and knocked on Tang Xiaomi’s head. He smiled and said, “How was your studies today?”
Tang Xiaomi wrinkled her nose and covered her head. She looked at Su Yang and said angrily, “Stop hitting my head. I’ll become stupid!”
Then she said, “Studies? Is there anything to study in kindergarten? It’s all so simple. I’m not a child anymore. I can go to junior high.”
Su Yang chuckled. “You keep on bragging. Come on, if you’re capable enough, help me solve a quadratic equation.”
Tang Xiaomi immediately wilted.
Like Chu Xia, mathematics was her eternal bane.
While the two of them were talking, Tang Jing walked over and wiped her hands on her apron as she said to Su Yang, “Xiaoyang, my venture capital company has been running for quite some time now. I’ve filtered out some interesting projects. Shall I show you?”
Su Yang replied, “No problem. Let me take a look.”
Tang Jing nodded and returned to the sofa. She took out a stack of documents and passed them to Su Yang. “These are some projects with potential in Shanghai and Hangcheng. I started a venture capital company before, so I have a lot of connections. Some bosses will introduce friends to me. I’ve made my choice. Take a look.”
Su Yang nodded and sat down.
When Tang Xiaomi saw this, she immediately became excited. She jumped up and down and said, “Me too, me too!”
Su Yang smiled and tapped the tip of her nose. “What good would it do from you looking at it? You don’t even understand it.”
Tang Xiaomi raised her head and snorted. “I can read already, so how can I not understand!”
Su Yang smiled as he carried her into his embrace and sat down. “Sure, let’s read it together then.”
Tang Jing watched the two of them interact warmly, her eyes filled with gentleness.
Su Yang picked up the documents and read them one by one.
The first was a chain hotpot restaurant project. Su Yang took a look and felt that it was meaningless. Now that the internet was growing rapidly, opening a physical restaurant was practically suicide.
Therefore, he did not give Little Hus a whiff and prepared to put it down.
At that moment, Tang Xiaomi also shouted, “Pass! This won’t work!”
Su Yang looked at her in surprise. “Eh? How do you know that it won’t work?”
Tang Xiaomi said cutely, “Its name is not nice. It’s called the Red Sun Hotpot Restaurant. That’s so old fashioned...”
“Hahahaha!” Su Yang was amused by Tang Xiaomi. ‘She’s indeed a child.’
Even though he thought that, Su Yang said on purpose, “Alright, I’ll listen to you. Let’s pass it!”
After he said that, Su Yang put the project aside.
Tang Xiaomi raised her chin proudly, but Tang Jing held back her laughter. She looked at the two lovingly and went back to cooking. She had not finished cooking yet and was only just serving two dishes onto the table just now.
After Tang Jing left, Su Yang and Tang Xiaomi continued reading.
The second project was a cellphone project. Su Yang knew how to make his own cellphone, so he rejected it.
Then came the third and the fourth... As the number of projects decreased one by one. Su Yang still did not find any interesting companies.
However, this was normal. After all, his and Tang Jing’s company was just a small venture capital company that had just opened. It was normal that they did not have any good projects. After all, even a large venture capital company could not invest more than one or two good projects in a year.
Very soon, Su Yang saw the last copy. It was an e-commerce project that focused on low prices and high volume.
Looking at the project, Su Yang felt like he was looking at Taobao.
However, it was also because of Taobao that Su Yang felt that this project was unrealistic.
‘The e-commerce market is huge, but there are already too many strong companies. Taobao is the most powerful, while Jingdong and Weipin were the next most powerful companies. So, how could a small company stand out?’
Hence, Su Yang decided to put this project aside.
At that moment, Tang Xiaomi said, “The name of this project is horrible! Pass, Pass!”
Su Yang laughed and looked at the name of the project: Juduoduo.
‘Haha, this name was indeed not good.
‘So be it, let’s pass.’
Then, Su Yang said, “Alright! I’ll listen to you. Let’s...”
Su Yang was halfway through his sentence when Little Hus’s excited voice sounded in his earpiece. “Su Yang! Su Yang! A fragrance! There’s a fragrance in this project!”
Halfway through his sentence, Su Yang changed his words. “I’ll listen to you. Let’s... Keep it!”
A question mark slowly appeared on Tang Xiaomi’s face.
‘Do you have a lot of questions, my little friend...’
