‘Besides, it isn’t easy for an actor to be able to drive a tank. They need to receive prior training. After all, they would need to look the part.
‘However...’ When Wu Feng thought about how Su Yang’s had been able to touch the sharks with his bare hands, he felt that Su Yang was quite suitable for portraying a character that drives a tank.
‘Fine. We’re just filming anyway, he won’t be able to actually drive a tank.
‘I might as well agree to it since he likes it.
‘I could just let him be trained for a while when he arrives.’
Thinking of this, Wu Feng replied, ‘Sure, no problem.’
Su Yang was elated when he looked at the message on WeChat. ‘I can finally get on a real tank now... Perhaps I might even get the chance to drive it for real.
‘Should I practice driving it with my [Unknown Sticky Notes] first?
‘Although I have the [Beginner Tank Driving Ability], but... I can’t be embarrassing myself when the time comes!
‘Right then... I should prepare myself anyway.’
When he imagined himself driving a tank on the big screen, Su Yang really wanted to call his parents. ‘Dad, Mom! Look! Your son is in a movie! He’s even driving a tank in the movie!’
‘I have to screenshot that scene and post it on my WeChat. I want everyone in my WeChat to know how valiant I am when I’m driving a tank!’
However, when he thought of that, Su Yang couldn’t help but think of Lin Jiali.
‘I promised to let Lin Jiali be involved as a guest actress in all of my movies, yet I’ve failed to do so right from the beginning. Isn’t that too tragic for her already?’
However, Su Yang recalled the script of “Wolf Warriors” that he had read. There was indeed only one female character who had very few scenes in the movie. Therefore, Wu Feng was not lying to him.
‘In that case... let’s wait for the sequel then.
‘If “Wolf Warriors 2” has more female characters in the sequel, I could bring her along so that she could build up her reputation and be on her way to becoming my company’s mascot for the second time.
‘Hang on... that would be the second time already? Just like that?
‘That’s really casual of me...’
However, when he thought about Lin Jiali and how they ended up knowing each other, Su Yang felt that Lin Jiali was really lucky.
‘She’s managed to meet me just because of a lost phone.
‘We ended up becoming friends just because she mistakenly thought that I was 1 of her fans. She even asked me to bring her up to fame when I get the opportunity.
‘Who could explain how she could be so lucky?
‘I can’t even say that she’s a female celebrity with a huge amount of luck. She’s literally Lady Luck in the flesh.’
10 minutes had slowly passed by just as Su Yang was lost in his thoughts. The system interface of the light bulb finally popped up.
[Tungsten Light Bulb+1, Obtained Special Ability, Unknown Changes Occured.]
Su Yang’s attention was attracted by the new interface.
‘Special ability?
‘Unknown changes?
‘What’s all this?’
As he thought about it, Su Yang clicked on the option for special abilities. Instantly, an introduction page for abilities appeared before him.
[Mental Code Light Bulb]
Ability: By using this light bulb, you will be able to accurately convey your thoughts to the other party.
Restriction 1: You are only able to send your mental code using Morse code.
Restriction 2: You may only send 1 mental code per day.
Note: May our hearts be strung together into a concentric circle...
Su Yang was speechless
‘It’s even got the lyrics of the song in the notes, but why does it sound so bloody...
‘Furthermore, this ability doesn’t seem to be very useful, does it?
‘What was the point of conveying my thoughts to another person?
‘Is it supposed to be a long distance telepathy?
‘Can’t I just ring them up?
‘Could it be a long distance mental threat instead?
‘In that case, if anyone were to provoke me, I could swear at them mentally so that they won’t be able to swear back at me.
‘That’s outrageous!
‘If that were really the case, I might as well use [Hands Of Fate] to send a note to that person instead!
‘What’s more, I even have to send the mental code in Morse code...
‘What’s this?
‘Do I need to encrypt my message because there are mentalists in the world?
‘That’s so redundant! Wouldn’t it be better to just say everything face to face?’
At the thought of this, Su Yang could not help but sigh. ‘After spending all that effort, I end up getting a piece of trash.’
Just as he was thinking about that, a hoarse but dull voice suddenly rang in his ears. “Why are you sighing?”
Su Yang looked around. ‘Huh? Whose voice was that?’
“What are you looking at?” It was still from the same voice.
Su Yang lowered his head and realized... The voice was coming from the light bulb in his hand.
“What are you looking at me for?” Its voice was hoarse, dull and very naggy that anyone would like to beat it.
Su Yang asked, “So what if I’m looking at you?”
The light bulb went silent.
“Fine, look all you want.”
Su Yang was speechless.
‘Is it really that cowardly?’
Su Yang poked the light bulb and felt that it was no different from a normal light bulb.
He could not help but ask, “Have you become a monster?”
The light bulb asked, “What’s a monster?”
Su Yang replied, “Monsters are creatures that possess intelligence.”
The light bulb replied, “Then I’m a monster.”
After saying that, it asked again, “Are you also a monster?”
Su Yang replied, “I’m a human.”
The light bulb asked, “What’s a human?”
‘I can’t be bothered with this light bulb anymore, it’s got too many questions’
Su Yang grabbed a rag and wrapped it around the light bulb. Then he clicked on [Unknown Changes] on the main interface.
[Unknown Changes, Obtained Simple Intelligence.]
‘So, this is the supposedly unknown change?
‘To put it bluntly, it’s merely just a life transition from an item to a monster, isn’t it?
‘However, It’s probably the most ordinary monster. Aside from intelligence, the system hasn’t provided it with any common sense and knowledge.’
Su Yang recalled the tips he received every time he used the Little Monster Bean fragments to refine special items.
‘I recall there seems to be a sentence before I confirm that’s something like, [The special item will give birth to additional abilities, talents, or more unknown changes].
‘The special items I’ve obtained before have always been given an additional ability or talent. This is the first time a special item has been given an [Unknown Change], but I did not expect that it would be given intelligence.
‘Are there other [Unknown Changes] that I’m not aware of?
‘Regardless of the situation, I’ve gained an additional little monster in the house out of the blue.’ As per usual, Su Yang gathered all the little monsters in the house and introduced them to everyone.
During the process of naming the light bulb, Su Yang continued his habit of being unable to come up with a name. In the end, he named the light bulb Old Tungsten on a whim...
‘Well, it is a tungsten light bulb after all.’
Thus... Old Tungsten officially joined the family!
Unlike other small monsters, Old Tungsten preferred to stay in a quiet place and rest. Therefore, after the meeting, Su Yang did as it wished and exited the virtual space. Then, he installed it in the guest room of his rented villa so that it is able to stay quietly on the roof of the guest room.
After he was done installing Old Tungsten, Su Yang was about to leave the guest room when Old Tungsten asked with its hoarse and dull voice, “Don’t you want to try and use me?”
Su Yang looked at it in disdain. ‘Use it? Why does that sound... so disgusting?’
Old Tungsten added, “Use my ability.”
Su Yang cast aside his distracting thoughts. ‘I suppose I could give it a try.
‘After all, I’ve already obtained the ability, so it’ll only be my loss if I don’t try it out.’
Su Yang replied, “But I don’t know Morse code.”
Old Tungsten said calmly, “I do, so just tell me what you want to say and I’ll translate it for you automatically.”
Su Yang was startled.
‘Hey, this d*mn light bulb actually has some use after all.
Su Yang thought for a while and said, “Help me send a message to Chu Xia. Tell her, I miss you, Chu Xia.”
Old Tungsten looked at Su Yang. “Who is Chu Xia?”
Su Yang was speechless
He said angrily, “How are you going to convey my message when you don’t even know anything!”
Old Tungsten said calmly, “Can you at least show me a picture of her?”
Su Yang opened his WeChat and realized that Chu Xia did not have any selfies.
He thought about it and flipped through his photo album. Sure enough, he found a picture of himself and Chu Xia in the corner. It was a picture that he had taken with Chu Xia when he was renting his office at Technology Park.
At the time, Su Yang looked very young with Chu Xia standing next to him. She was smiling brightly and her eyes were curved like crescent moons.
Su Yang raised the photo towards the light bulb and pointed at Chu Xia. “That’s her.”
The light bulb slightly flickered. “Got it.”
Then, something amazing happened.
Without touching the switch, the originally bright light bulb suddenly dimmed and the room turned dark. Then, the lights lit up for a second before it got switched off again. Almost instantly, the light came back on again.
The light bulb lit up for another second before it went off again, followed by 4 short flickers. The continuous flickering of the light illuminated the room like it was a haunted house.
Su Yang silently remembered the length of time when the light would light up. ‘-.-....–..-...-
‘Could this be Morse code?
‘It does seem... similar to how it’s normally done on television.’
After about two minutes, the tungsten lamp finally lit up with Old Tungsten’s voice ringing in Su Yang’s ears. “Done.”
Su Yang said, “That’s it?”
Old Tungsten. “Yeap.”
Su Yang asked, “Did she say anything in reply?”
Old Tungsten said calmly, “Do you think I’m a telephone? My transmissions are one-way only.”
Su Yang was speechless.
‘I really hate these kinds of abilities where I don’t receive any feedback after using it!’
At the same time, in the girls’ dormitory.
Chu Xia was lying in bed, unable to fall asleep. Her mind was filled with images of Su Yang and Guo Xiaoying.
Two days after returning to school, Chu Xia had already asked about Guo Xiaoying’s situation and found that she was evil, dominant, extreme, and controlling.
All the qualities that a normal girl should not have coincidentally existed on Guo Xiaoying.
Frankly speaking... Chu Xia did not like that girl.
It was not only because they had almost the complete opposite character, but also because... Guo Xiaoying was too scheming and was being too close to Su Yang.
Chu Xia was afraid that she would hurt Su Yang.
Moreover, Chu Xia managed to find out more about the incident between Su Yang and Guo Xiaoying. It was not as simple as Su Yang had told her, but it was not as serious as Qu Xiaomeng said either.
‘From what I gathered, Su Yang and Guo Xiaoying’s relationship is indeed deeply related to Qu Xuan with Su Yang helping Qu Xuan to get Xue Ya’s WeChat.
‘However, based on all the details I have, Su Yang is obviously interested in Guo Xiaoying as well which surpasses the relationship between a senior and a junior.’
Chu Xia found it hard to accept. ‘Is it possible that... Su Yang prefers communicating with girls that were able to keep him on his toes?’
She compared herself to Guo Xiaoying and realized that she was indeed a little boring compared to her and found it hard to consistently keep a guy interested in her.
‘In that case... should I become more interesting then?
‘But... how do I begin...;’
Due to her melancholy, Chu Xia could not help but sigh softly.
However, just as she sighed, her roommate’s voice came from the lower bunk. “You’ve just sighed away whatever little luck you have left.”
Chu Xia blushed, feeling like someone had found out what she was being troubled about in her mind.
She peeked down and saw her roommate leaning against the bed, chewing on bubble gum and playing on her phone.
Seeing Chu Xia in front of her, the girl on the lower bunk looked up and blinked. She had an expression that said, ‘I’ve seen right through your mind, you’re thinking about CEO Su again, aren’t you?’
Chu Xia’s face turned really red at that moment.
The girl on the lower bunk chewed on her bubble gum and shook her head. “I just can’t seem to understand what’s so attractive about him that you keep thinking about him all the time.”
Perhaps the two of them were chatting rather loudly that they had disturbed the other dormitory mates. The girl on the bed to the opposite of Chu Xia also got up and said, “What’s wrong with CEOt Su? He’s young, capable, rich and doesn’t even go out drinking or toying around with women. He’s the embodiment of the ideal marriage partner.”
The girl on the lower bunk chuckled. “I suppose you’re right, but... don’t you girls feel that he doesn’t feel like a young person at all?”
The girl on the lower bunk put down her phone and counted with her fingers.
“He’s young and capable, yet he’s still wearing slippers that you find on the streets.”
“He’s rich, but other than that commercial car, I don’t recall him having any luxurious cars at all.”
“He doesn’t go out to drink and toy with women, but he doesn’t even participate in our activities either. He doesn’t dance, he doesn’t sing, he doesn’t even play “Werewolf”.”
She then shook her head and dragged her sentence as she said, “Boring...”
The girl on the bed to the opposite of Chu Xia was speechless.
Chu Xia lowered her head and thought about it. For some reason, she felt that what her roommate said made sense. ‘Su Yang is quite boring indeed.
‘In that case... would two boring people be compatible with each other?’
At the thought of this, Chu Xia felt an inexplicable sense of excitement. She felt that she really suited Su Yang.
At that moment, she heard the girl on her lower bunk say, “Actually, young people like us should go out more and have fun. Otherwise, we won’t be able to have that kind of fun when we’re older. On that note, my friend will be coming to pick me up to go out and have fun tomorrow. Do you girls want to join me?”
Chu Xia had never been interested in such gatherings. Hence, she shook her head and said, “I’ll pass.”
The girl on the lower bunk said seductively, “There’s going to be many wealthy and handsome guys there.”
Chu Xia purses her lips into a smile. “Then all the more reason I can’t go. I’ m... allergic to both types of guys.”
The girl on the lower bunk pursed her lips. “You might as well keep staring at your CEO Su with your googly eyes then.”
Chu Xia felt a sweetness in her heart when she heard this. ‘My CEO Su? That sounds really nice.’
If her roommates knew what Chu Xia was thinking, they would definitely think that Chu Xia was a hopeless case and completely doomed.
Although Chu Xia did not want to go, the girl opposite her was eager to go. Hence, the girl quickly got out of bed and said, “I’ll go, I’ll go. Bring me along please.”
The girl on the lower bunk looked up at her. “Sure, no problem. I’ll bring you along tomorrow afternoon.”
“That’s great.”
As she watched her two roommates chatting, Chu Xia laid back on her bed and closed her eyes to continue thinking about Su Yang.
However, just as she lay down, a voice suddenly echoed in her heart. It was a voice that she was extremely familiar with. “Chu Xia, I missed you.”
‘Su Yang?!’
Chu Xia sat up abruptly, her eyes wide. Then she sat quietly, wanting to hear it again, but... the sound never repeated.
‘What? Was I hearing things just now?’
Chu Xia suddenly sat up, obviously disturbing the girl on the lower bunk. She stuck her head out and looked up. “Chu Xia, what are you doing?”
Chu Xia looked at her and asked, “Did you hear a sound just now?”
The girl on the lower bunk shook her head. “What sound? I didn’t hear anything.”
Chu Xia hesitated and didn’t say anything.
The girl on the lower bunk leaned against the bed and said, “Are you really not going to go tomorrow? I heard they’ll drive a luxury car to pick us up.”
“To be picked up by a luxury car, how glorious.”
