Chapter 368 Time To Kill Luo Yi and His Friend!
Luo Yi’s heart was filled with hatred, probably because of all the alcohol within his system.
‘I wanted to kill Su Yang in the past so that I could regain my freedom and continue being a celebrity. However, now that I’ve lost everything, killing him is the only thing that can quench my thirst for vengeance now.’
His friend was stunned for a moment. He coughed and poured him a glass of wine. “Are you sure you want to do this?” A look of hesitation flashed across Luo Yi’s eyes. However, he finished off the glass of wine in one gulp. Then, he said, “I must kill him! Even if it means sacrificing myself in the process, I will never back down!”
Luo Yi thought about how he had turned from a popular celebrity to an ordinary person. ‘I used to be surrounded by thousands of fans in the past, but now, I’m forced to stay at home and can’t go anywhere. My entire world has collapsed!
‘Especially since I was caught by the police because my plan to poison him has failed. The police now have a file under my name. I’m completely doomed.’
Luo Yi felt like he had been driven up against a brick wall and there was no more hope in his life, especially now with his criminal record. ‘My life may be over, but... the least I can do is drag Su Yang down with me!
‘Even if I’m done for, I won’t let Su Yang get away so easily!’
His friend looked at Luo Yi’s expression and was stunned for a moment. Then, he slammed the table and said, “Alright! I acknowledge your manhood! Come! Let’s have another drink together!” As he said that, he poured two full glasses of wine and took a glass for himself before passing another glass to Luo Yi and said, “I was originally planning to wait for the outcome of your case before we planned our next step. However, seeing how courageous you are now, I’ve decided to walk with you this time!”
“Don’t worry, since you have so much desire to do so, I’ll definitely find someone and have it properly done for you! He won’t even know what hit him!”
Luo Yi’s eyes lit up, “Really?”
‘Does this mean no one will suspect that it’s me?
‘Even though my future is bleak, it would still be great if I could kill Su Yang without arousing any suspicion onto myself.’
His friend nodded. “No problem. I’ll look for a suitable candidate, a professional. That way, even if things were to go south, no one will ever suspect you. But...” Luo Yi asked, “But what?”
His friend rubbed his forefinger and thumb together. “You’ll need a good amount of money...”
mo
Luo Yi asked, “How much?”
His friend rolled his eyes and said, “I’ll have to ask. But, I’m sure that it’d be much more expensive than the ricin you bought previously.” Then, his friend feigned ignorance and asked tentatively, “Don’t tell me, have you not got enough money?”
Luo Yi slammed his chest, “Impossible! I’ve saved over two million yuan over the past few years!”
A bright smile appeared on his friend’s face as he picked up his glass of wine. “That’s good enough! Come! Let’s drink!”
Luo Yi picked up his glass and the both of them toasted before downing it in one gulp. His heart was filled with joy at the thought of his revenge being exacted soon.
As Luo Yi began to fantasize about his future, Su Yang was a dead man while he had used the remainder of his money to work from behind the scenes as a director or an investor of sorts.
‘Who knows, I might even have another chance at succeeding...
The happiest thing in life would be me living gloriously while my enemies are all six feet underground.’
Just as he was fantasizing... everything became still...
After sitting on his bench, Su Yang looked at the time. ‘It’s already 11:20 pm. Even if I have to break a finger, the pain would only last for 40 minutes. For someone who’s used to pain like myself, this was no pressure at all.’
[At the thought of this, he did not hesitate to use his silver ability (Hands Of Fate].
He sat on the bench and slowly raised his hands. The immense pressure pressed down on him again. He gritted his teeth and used all his strength to push his hands downwards! There was a loud boom! A bolt of lightning crackled in the gray sky. After the lightning came masses of black clouds from all directions...
A moment later, Su Yang appeared in front of the gigantic sandbox. Without hesitation, he recited the address of Luo Yi’s apartment which was on his resume.
In the blink of an eye, Su Yang appeared above Luo Yi’s apartment after scouring through half of the city.
He counted the windows to confirm that it was really Luo Yi’s house and clicked on it. Instantly, his body shrunk and he entered Luo Yi’s room.
Then... he saw Luo Yi and his friend making a toast with smiles on their faces, preparing to drink.
“Hmm?’
Su Yang was stunned.
He approached Luo Yi’s friend and sized him up carefully.
“This seems to be the friend who sold him the ricin in Luo Yi’s memory?’
Su Yang smiled.
‘Can the Imperial City be any more magical?
‘As expected of the capital. A person’s luck is truly affected by the area they’re at... My luck here is absolutely terrific.
‘How am I able to run into something like this?
‘Originally, I was going to deal with these two separately. Never did I expect that... the two of them would end up together at the same location...
“There’s still plenty of time, I should look around and find the ricin he used.’
The moment he took a step forward... he saw the small bag that was thrown on the table. Su Yang turned on the system and a translucent [+] appeared on the bag. At the same time, the contents of the bag were displayed, [Ricin).]
‘What?
‘Could this be any more coincidental?
‘Speak of the Devil.’
Su Yang could not help himself and prayed. ‘I want 10 Gold Points, 20 Silver Points, 30 Bronze Points and 40 Random Points.’
After a while... nothing happened.
Su Yang clicked his tongue. ‘Liar.’
As he continued cursing, Su Yang waved his hand and the bag opened instantly. A long line of powder flowed out and formed a long dragon.
With a single thought, the powder split into two waves and entered Luo Yi and his friend’s cups of beer.
Since time had been stopped, the beer in Luo Yi and his friend’s glasses remained still. After the powder entered the glass, it attached itself together onto the beer.
However, the two matters did not mix together, probably due to the effects of the time stop. If one were to look closely, they could still see the powder on top of the beer.
Su Yang’s logic was simple. ‘An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. ‘If you’re lucky enough to notice the ricin, you’re able to save yourself. Otherwise, you’re just going to have to blame yourself for dying. ‘After all, the day you decided to poison others, you should have expected to get a taste of your own medicine someday.’ After that, Su Yang looked at the two of them before deactivating his power and returning to the virtual space.
As he cancelled his ability, time returned to normal. The two drunkards did not notice that there was something extra in their beers and tipped their heads backwards as they downed their beers together with the ricin.
Perhaps because they drank too quickly, neither of them noticed anything strange. Only Luo Yi felt like his throat was blocked all of a sudden which was a little strange.
However, he thought that it was because his throat was swollen from having too much to drink and brushed it off without a bother.
He patted his friend’s shoulder and said, “So it all depends on you now whether he lives or dies!”
His friend smiled and said, “Don’t worry, leave it to me.”
“How do you want it to be done?”
Luo Yi took a mouthful of food and started thinking, “Can you get some fat girls to choke him to death? If that can’t be done, just throw him into the ditch and let him drown.”
His friend quickly said, “No problem! Anything can be done with money!”
As he spoke, his friend poured them another glass of beer and raised his glass. “Come! Let’s have another drink!”
Hence, the two of them discussed their plans on how Su Yang should be killed whilst drinking one glass after another.
However, neither of them noticed that some amount of the ricin on the table had disappeared...
Returning to the virtual space, Su Yang felt a sharp pain in his palm. He looked down and saw that his right index finger had been cut off.
Even though it was the umpteenth time that he had experienced such pain, Su Yang still felt the pain sting quite a lot that it may explode soon enough. Therefore, he quickly put on the (Double-Sided Salted Fish Mask).
Instantly, his mind relaxed. Although it still hurt, but... he didn’t seem to be bothered anymore.
While he was at it, he had a silent thought. ‘Go on, keep on hurting. What’s the big fuss... I won’t die anyway.
“Truly, the saying about salted fish was true.’
Just like that, Su Yang endured the pain continuously while waiting for Little Hus’s countdown timer to end.
After a while, Su Yang was so bored from the wait that he began to feel the pain a little... ‘Should I find something to do to distract myself?’
With that thought in mind, he began to munch on some melons as he summoned the system interface. He opened his WeChat Moments to kill time.
The first post was about Chu Xia’s results. It seemed like due to her constant updates on her novels recently, her results were improving. Originally, she had placed number two amongst everyone else. Now, she was on her way to becoming the top.
In her post, she thanked her readers for their support and herself for her efforts. She also mentioned her gratitude for... a friend whose name couldn’t be revealed, saying that she wouldn’t have been able to maintain her efforts without this friend and she really appreciated this friend.
Su Yang, who was the anonymous person, munched on some melons and liked the post before scrolling past.
The next message was from the top student, Li Runze. He sent a series of strange numbers and tagged Su Yang.
Unfortunately, Su Yang did not receive his tag...
Su Yang looked at the string of numbers for a long time but could not figure out what they meant. ‘Perhaps the world that top students lived in is too difficult to comprehend...’ As a salted fish, Su Yang pretended not to see Li Runze’s post and continued scrolling...
‘Oh well... Let’s just assume that he’s been kidnapped and is sending out a distress signal. Amen.’
As he ranted on, Su Yang continued scrolling. The rest of the people were classmates and relatives whom he was not familiar with, hence there was nothing worth paying attention to. Aside from people sharing the happenings throughout their daily lives, there were only advertisements and it was boring to watch.
However, Su Yang felt that he had at least managed to divert some of the pain.
He looked up at Little Hus’s cocoon, there was 09:12 remaining
‘Alright. Nine more minutes to go. We’re almost there.’
Su Yang quickly scrolled through his WeChat Moments. He decided to surf on Tieba if there was nothing more that piqued his interests.
Suddenly, a post on WeChat caught his attention.
Xu Lu posted. ‘Pork prices have been increasing so much recently. I feel like I won’t be able to afford pork anymore soon.’ There was another picture attached to her post. It was not a picture of pork, but a selfie of Xu Lu in her tight-fit dance outfit instead and looked very charming. ‘This senior is really attractive and is very photogenic. But... What has it got to do with pork?
