However, Mr. Shen was a professional person. Even though he was sure that it would never work, he still said politely, “I think it’s very likely. But I need to consult my company, so I can’t say for sure now.”
Su Yang took a look. ‘This person doesn’t seem like the kind of person to make empty promises like Wang Dong was talking about.
‘After talking for so long, he still hasn’t loosen up.
‘This won’t do. I need to make him verbally agree to get it done for me!’
With that thought in mind, Su Yang looked at the dishes that were gradually served. Then, he signaled to Pan Zhaodi to open a bottle of wine and pour a few glasses for the three of them. “Let’s put a stop to this discussion for now and eat first. Come, Mr. Shen. Let’s drink.”
Actually, Su Yang did not like to drink. However, according to what Wang Dong said, the reason why Mr. Shen was so gullible was that his alcohol tolerance was not good.
Mr. Shen might look thin and had a weak stomach, but he loved drinking.
Of course, the reason his stomach was not well was probably because he had drunk too much and had hurt his stomach.
However, even so, he still liked to drink.
It was one thing that he liked to drink, but after drinking, he liked to brag. After bragging, he would say that he could not remember anything the next day. That was how he left the impression with others that he liked to brag and was not reliable.
Hence, Su Yang could not be bothered to say anything more. He immediately commenced his attack on his target. ‘Didn’t you like to brag when you’re drinking? Let’s get you to drinking then!’
After Su Yang poured the first glass, it was Wang Dong’s turn to host the show.
‘Wang Dong has been substituting me for the past half year, going over from 1 dinner meeting to another. Surely he must be adept in holding his drink.’
He toasted Mr. Shen one glass after another.
‘I have no idea why Su Yang is so interested in Mr. Shen.
‘Plus, I have no idea what’s the worth in looking up to a man who’s infamous for bragging and not following through with his promises. However, I can only follow Su Yang’s arrangements.’
Mr. Shen was actually very happy. In the past two years, he had left a bad impression on the people he had interacted with and had suffered a lot. There were many things that did not go according to his plans, he did not even have the chance to drink for quite a while.
He also knew that it was easy for him to get tipsy from drinking and that he liked to casually agree to things that he couldn’t do or would be hard to do. But... he couldn’t help it.
To him, it would be too depressing to drink without being able to brag!
Even though he would slap himself on the forehead every time he woke up from his drunken stupor, frustrated that he had made another promise, he could not help but want to continue drinking.
It was the same at that time. After he got drunk, he could no longer control his mouth. He would agree to whatever Su Yang said.
Su Yang said, “Mr. Shen, I’ll leave the 50 million yuan loan in your hands then.”
Mr. Shen patted his skinny chest and held his wine glass as he said generously, “No problem! Let me tell you. This bank, the credit department, even the director has to listen to me when I speak!”
Su Yang smiled. ‘This would do the trick.
‘Regardless of whether Mr. Shen is telling the truth or not, as long as he can do it, once the [Absolute Verbal Contract] is signed, he has no choice but to do it.’
Hence, Su Yang could even smile as he had his meal.
Mr. Shen was even happier. It had been a long time since he had had such a good drink. He felt like he had gotten back at the party again.
‘The feeling of binging on drinks and food while bragging at the same time is amazing!
‘I can never understand why I can’t brag when I drink!
‘Must I follow through with whatever I brag?
‘Can’t I brag about how awesome I am when I’m tipsy after having a drink! I’ve already had it rough in real life, can I not fantasize just a little bit?!
‘I just want to brag without repercussions!’
This meal was a joyous one for both the guest and the host.
Other than the first toast, Su Yang and Pan Zhaodi did not drink anymore. Only Wang Dong and Mr. Shen drank throughout the meeting.
Halfway through, Su Yang found an opportunity to go out. He took out two bottles of [Sanque’s Oral Fluid] from the virtual space and placed them in his pocket. He planned to let Wang Dong drink it when the meeting ended.
‘After all, Wang Dong has had too much to drink just to accompany Mr. Shen.
‘Although [Sanque’s Oral Fluid] is much diluted compared to having ginseng, drinking two bottles of it could still protect one’s body.’
Soon, the meal was over. Su Yang and Pan Zhaodi sent Mr. Shen out of the restaurant and carried Wang Dong back to his house.
Along the way, Su Yang gave Wang Dong the oral fluids and obviously felt much better after drinking it.
Arriving at Wang Dong’s house, Su Yang knocked on the door. A slightly familiar female voice came from the door. “Who is it?”
Su Yang said, “Hi, I’m here to send Brother Dong home.”
When she heard Su Yang’s voice, there was the sound of slippers on the floor. After a while, the inner door opened but not the outer door.
Su Yang felt that the peephole seemed to have darkened for a moment. ‘That woman should be observing us from the inside.’
She must have seen Wang Dong since she hurriedly opened the door. Then, as she held up Wang Dong, she said awkwardly, “Sorry for making you guys wait.”
Su Yang smiled. “It’s good to be careful at night.”
The woman and Su Yang helped Wang Dong to sit down before returning to get Su Yang and Pan Zhaodi their shoes.
She was a pretty girl and had a gentle look on her face. Su Yang had seen her once. However, at that time, perhaps because they had just broken up, she had a melancholic look. Now that he looked at her again, that melancholic look was much less obvious. It seemed that she and Wang Dong were indeed developing a very romantic and fruitful relationship.
Compared to Su Yang, the woman paid more attention to Pan Zhaodi. Ever since Pan Zhaodi entered the house, she had been constantly looking at Pan Zhaodi. After all, beautiful people of the same gender would always “attract” each other.
However, it was obvious that Pan Zhaodi was not attracted to her. She merely stood behind Su Yang with a cold expression and ignored her.
After a while, the woman turned to Su Yang and smiled. “If I remember correctly, you should be Mr. Su, right?”
Su Yang replied, “Please, just call me Su Yang. We’ve met before.”
The woman had obviously forgotten about their confrontation. A contemplative expression appeared on her face. After a few seconds, she seemed to have come to a realization as she said, “It was that time when Wang Dong had too much to drink, isn’t it?”
Su Yang nodded.
‘It was the first time I met Wang Dong. He had just broken up and dragged me out for a meal. In the end, we drank too much. After that, I called her and she came to pick Wang Dong up.
‘It was also because of that drinking session that Wang Dong resigned and I was forced to start my own business. That’s also how I came to have his own startup business.
‘Sometimes, when I think about it, time is truly an amazing thing, so many things have changed unknowingly.’
When Su Yang saw that the woman was about to take her shoes, he quickly said, “Brother Dong has had a little too much to drink tonight. I’ve already given him some soup to remove the alcohol in his system, but I’ll have to trouble you to take care of him.”
“We won’t stay here any longer. It’s getting late, so we should head back.”
The woman was still holding her shoes at the time. She put them down and asked, “Are you not going to sit for a while longer?”
Su Yang shook his head. “No, it’s quite late now. We should go back.”
The woman did not persist any longer. After all, her boyfriend was drunk, so it was not very convenient to have a man and a woman alone at home.
After sending Su Yang out, the woman said, “Su... Su Yang, come over for a meal when you’re free. I’ll make sure that you’re taken care of by Wang Dong and myself.”
Su Yang smiled and waved her off. “Alright. I wish you and Brother Dong a long and harmonious life together.”
The woman smiled blissfully. “Thank you.”
After they went downstairs, Su Yang and Pan Zhaodi took a taxi to the neighborhood.
On the way, Su Yang leaned against the back seat and said to Pan Zhaodi, “Shouldn’t we buy a car for the company? It’s inconvenient to always take a cab like this.”
Pan Zhaodi hummed in acknowledgment. “I’ll make the arrangements then.”
Su Yang nodded.
‘I trust Pan Zhaodi’s efficiency.
‘She’s a 1-star talent after all.’
After returning home, Su Yang entered the virtual space. When he gave Wang Dong a bottle of [Sanque’s Oral Fluid], he drank a bottle himself. This fluid works wonders on removing the alcohol from my system, at least I feel much better now.
‘Of course... it could be because I had very little to drink, so the alcohol had already been removed as time passed.’
Arriving at the virtual space, Su Yang looked at the empty space in front of him and said in a low voice, “I want to sign a contract.”
With that, a sheepskin scroll and a quill appeared before him.
Su Yang picked up the quill and opened the sheepskin scroll.
The scroll was filled with the verbal promises that Su Yang made which were available to sign on that day.
Perhaps because he had come into contact with quite a number of people on that day, there were quite a few contracts available to be signed.
For example, Wang Dong’s promise to Su Yang to let Su Yang attend his wedding, Pan Zhaodi’s promise to buy a company car, the old man at the newspaper stand who said that he would leave a newspaper for Su Yang etc.
Su Yang looked down and saw Mr. Shen’s name.
Mr. Shen might have made a lot of promises, such as “I’ll definitely treat you to a drink next time”, “I can drink five bottles of alcohol in one go”, “I can get you whatever you want”, and all other weird promises.
‘So it’s true that Mr. Shen isn’t good at drinking.’
Su Yang looked around carefully and soon found the promise that he wanted. “I will definitely help you get that 50 million yuan loan.”
‘This is the one!’
Without hesitation, Su Yang signed his name on that promise.
After Su Yang signed his name, the sheepskin scroll and quill combusted on their own. A notification popped up in Su Yang’s mind. [Absolute Verbal Contract signed successfully.]
‘The second contract is successfully signed.’
Su Yang could not help but analyze. ‘Since it’s successful, That means Mr. Shen has to do it, right?
‘In that sense, actually... Mr. Shen still has some ability and isn’t all talk.
‘Although I have no idea how this Silver ability is going to make Mr. Shen get things done, but I suppose I should just patiently wait for the results...’
When Mr. Shen returned home, his wife was already asleep. He tiptoed to the kitchen, poured himself a glass of water, and went to sit in the bedroom.
He unbuttoned his clothes and took a sip of water. Mr. Shen leaned against the bed, feeling a little tired.
At that moment, the sound of someone getting off the bed came from the master bedroom. Shortly after, a middle-aged woman who looked to be in her 40s’ came to the second bedroom. She looked at Mr. Shen and said, “Have you had too much to drink again?”
