In the virtual space, Su Yang was chatting with his trusted subordinate, Zhao Licheng, about the upcoming plans.
There were seven or eight people around them, both old and new friends.
The old friends included those such as the Clown Sea Serpent, Little Deeny, and so on. The new friends were all high-level talents that Su Yang had recruited from various countries in the past six months. The lowest was a four-star talent, while the highest was a five-star talent, who was on the same level as Zhao Licheng.
They were all little monsters summoned by Su Yang due to various reasons including businessmen, economists, scientists, and even a politician.
Now, this small group was gradually becoming the brains of Su Yang’s team.
With them around, Su Yang could delegate many things for them to handle without having to spend too much effort taking care of them.
In the conference room, Zhao Licheng held a large whiteboard in one hand and a marker in the other. He explained, “The key now is to gain as much influence as possible. We need to change more people in a positive way.”
“Therefore, I’ve come up with an action plan, which I’m planning to have executed during the Chinese New Year.”
“China is one of the biggest countries in the world, and is also the country with the most population. On top of that, Chinese New Year is the most traditional and most important festival for Chinese people, where everyone celebrates.
“Especially because of the uniqueness of the national system, during that time, the Chinese would have a television program that could be said to be the world’s top viewership rating: the Spring Festival Gala.
“This program has a huge influence, so my suggestion is that we can invest a large amount of money to give red packets to the entire country during this gala and even put up an advertisement!”
Upon hearing Zhao Licheng’s words, the few little monsters present fell silent. After all, in order to increase their influence, they were going to be directly giving out red packets. ‘Um... Why does this plan sound so stupid?
‘However, undeniably, it’s indeed the most convenient way to influence people.’
The few little monsters were silent for a while. Seeing that Su Yang did not express his opinion, one of the young little monsters raised his hand and said, “I have something to say.”
Zhao Licheng stopped writing and extended his hand. “Elder Ma, please speak.”
This new monster, Elder Ma, had been an outstanding businessman in Hong Kong when he was still alive. The company he had established had great influence across Asia. Strictly speaking, Zhao Licheng had grown up listening to his stories.
However, even though he had a high position before he died, ever since he was resurrected by Su Yang, he had been keeping a low profile and did not show any of his ambition.
His actions made Su Yang and Zhao Licheng respect him even more.
Seeing that he had spoken, Su Yang looked over to see what he was going to say.
Seeing that he had attracted everyone’s attention, Elder Ma coughed lightly and said, “Actually, I agree with Mr. Zhao in principle, but I don’t think we should be so direct in our approach and cross the line.”
Although Elder Ma looked younger due to his revival, his eyes were filled with vicissitudes. He said, “It’s the same as how my company did charity work in the past. If there’s no cause or approval from the higher-ups, it’s actually very sensitive to do such things under the government.
“That’s why I feel that if we want to do something that benefits the people, we can advertise our own products.
“I feel that as long as our activity is simple enough and doesn’t make people feel like we’re fooling around, we can gain influence and promote our own company.”
Su Yang and the other little monsters nodded in agreement.
Zhao Licheng seemed to have expected that someone would say that. He was not anxious at all.
He took a sip of water and said, “I agree with Elder Ma’s viewpoint. That’s why I’ve done a lot of research to find out which product is most suitable for the Spring Festival Gala.
“In the end, we found one that’s very suitable.”
Zhao Licheng then wrote a word on the whiteboard: Jiadian.
He drew a circle on the word “Jiadian” and said, “I wonder if everyone still remembers that our company has an app called Jiadian. It was made by Mr. Su in the early stages of his business.”
“At first, it was called the “Work and Study app”, but later on, we changed its name to “Jiadian”.
“In the beginning, this software was only used to introduce part-time jobs for everyone. However, as our relationship with the government improved, we started to transform it two years ago, accepting all kinds of civilian services, such as paying for hydroelectric power, broadband fees, checking social security, medical insurance, checking delivery statuses, etc.
“Currently, our software has become the largest service software in the country.
“Not long ago, our company’s strategic department discovered that Ali had directly allowed their ace product, PayPal, to enter this market from last year onwards. Furthermore, it was developing rapidly. Soon, they will engage in close combat with us.
“This has inspired me. Since Ali wants to use their ace product to challenge our company’s marginal product, this would actually showcase our app’s merits.
“So... Why don’t we use this software to fight it out against Ali?”
Zhao Licheng put his marker aside and waved his hand. He summoned a virtual screen that was filled with the future plans of the software.
In Zhao Licheng’s imagination, the software would be used against Alibaba Group’s first product: Alipay, which was mainly on easy payment and financing.
With Su Yang’s connections in various places, outstanding resources, and the support of the Tencent’s traffic support, they believed that the Jiadian app would be able to go up against Alipay.
And the first battle of testing this product would be during that year’s Spring Festival Gala.
Zhao Licheng decided to supervise the battle personally and personally take a swing at the market share.
Su Yang and the few little monsters listened to Zhao Licheng’s thoughts and agreed to the decision.
Anyway, his main goal was to gather 20 million more people. If there was a bigger development, it would be a pleasant surprise, but if it failed, it did not matter.
After all, even if the promotion failed, the public would think that he had an excuse to give out red packets to the whole country, and it would not make it seem like a sensitive subject to touch on.
Hence, regardless of what happened, Su Yang did not feel that he would be losing out.
After the discussion, the little monsters began to discuss a series of measures against Draenor.
The purpose of Draenor’s current policy is simple: to deal with externalities and settle internal affairs.
Currently, his focus is still on dealing with the domestic conflicts. However, the few actions that he had made earlier had revealed his objective.
That was to sacrifice the international reputation to improve the competitiveness of their country, protect jobs, and protect the interests of their own people.
From a certain perspective, this was not a problem. However, Su Yang and the other higher-level little monsters were not optimistic about his actions.
Because he was too aggressive, many of the measures that he had taken were like drinking poison to quench his thirst. There did not seem to be any problems now, but it would definitely become a hidden danger in the future.
Therefore, the best option at that moment was to wait and observe.
However, at that point, the politician had a different opinion. He thought that it was fine to wait and observe the situation, but he could also make things difficult for Draenor as well.
After all, Draenor was almost done with his domestic affairs, and the next step would probably be to deal with Jiadian Group and China.
Hence, rather than waiting for him to come knocking on their doors, he thought that they might as well take the initiative to create some chaos for him so that Su Yang could have more time to develop.
After some consideration, Su Yang agreed to the plan and handed it over to the politician and Little Deeny.
After the meeting, Su Yang and Little Deeny arrived at the rooftop of the third floor of the castle.
The master and servant sat on the swing on the rooftop, gazing into the distance.
After some time, Little Deeny said, “Master, do you feel that although our power seems to be getting stronger, we’re also getting busier?
“Sometimes, when I’m free, I would wonder why we do what we did, and is everything worth it...”
Su Yang looked at Little Deeny in amusement and stroked her soft hair. “How old are you? Why are you having such deep thoughts already? We’re still young right now, so of course we should be working hard.
“This way, when I’m old, I can live freely.”
Little Deeny looked at Su Yang. His big eyes were not as clear as before. Instead, they were filled with confusion. “When you grow old? Freedom?
“But, why can’t we be free when we’re young and able to move? Why must we wait until we’re older?”
Su Yang choked on her words.
Because he realized that he could not explain why.
‘Because this is something that’s been fixed by modern people?’
Seeing that Su Yang was unable to explain, Little Deeny looked into the distance and rested her chin on his hands. Then, she said in a daze, “In the past, I thought that I didn’t know anything, so I tried my best to learn all kinds of knowledge. However, the more I learn, the more I realize that I don’t know anything.
“This is like a circle. When this “circle”, which is the amount of things I’ve learned, expands, I could come into contact with even more “unknowns”.
“In the past, I wished to learn all the knowledge in the world, and then I could live happily with my Master.
“But now, I realize that I can’t do it.
“No matter how fast my processor is, no matter how many memory cores there are, human beings create knowledge faster.
“I don’t know when I’ll be able to stop.
“And if the day really comes when I realize this dream, will it be a thousand years later? 10 thousand years later?
“But, during this thousand or 10 thousand years, will I be missing out on even more beautiful sceneries?”
At that point, Little Deeny looked at Su Yang and said, “Master, it’s the same as you. You’ve been busy with your career recently. How long has it been since you chatted with Sister Chu Xia? How long has it been since you dated her? Do you know what she’s been doing recently?”
Su Yang opened his mouth, but no words came out.
He had indeed not contacted Chu Xia for a long time. It had been so long that he had forgotten when he last contacted her.
‘I really am not qualified to be her boyfriend.
‘I wonder if Chu Xia is secretly hating me because of this.’
After a moment of silence, Su Yang took out his phone under Little Deeny’s gaze and sent a message to Chu Xia.
Chu Xia replied instantly. ‘Wow, Mr. CEO finally remembered that he has a little wife at home!’
Looking at Chu Xia’s words, the image of Chu Xia’s cute and pretty face automatically appeared in Su Yang’s mind and he felt much happier.
Su Yang coughed and replied. ‘I’ve been busy recently.’
Chu Xia scoffed and replied. ‘I guessed as much, which is why I didn’t dare to disturb you.’
Chu Xia did not lie. Just like how Su Yang had been paying attention to Draenor, Chu Xia had been paying attention to Su Yang as well.
Su Yang had recorded everything that Draenor had done in the past six months. However, he did not know that Chu Xia had also recorded everything that he had done in the past six months.
At that moment, Chu Xia was holding a glass tablet that Little Deeny had given her. As she chatted with Su Yang, she looked at the content on the screen.
The glass screen was filled with Su Yang’s recent news. There were press conferences in Central Asia, charity organizations in China, and various actions taken in Korea.
All in all, any news that was public information had been collected by Chu Xia.
When Su Yang ignored her, she would read Su Yang’s news to ease her longing for him.
In order to get Su Yang’s information as soon as possible, she even invited Su Yang’s friend, the top student, Li Runze, to help her create a tracking program.
This program did not have any other use. It was just that it could periodically enter the mainstream news and media in the world every day. Then, through the keywords “Su Yang” and “Jiadian”, it could filter out suitable news and send it to Chu Xia. This would allow Chu Xia to receive news of Su Yang immediately.
Of course, Su Yang did not know about this. He realized that he had not chatted with a girl for more than half a year. Suddenly, he seemed to have forgotten how to chat.
Therefore, after some hesitation, he called Chu Xia.
The call went through in less than two seconds. Chu Xia’s voice came from the other end. “Hello?”
As Su Yang listened to Chu Xia’s voice, for some reason, he missed her like a tidal wave.
Su Yang was speechless.
He was silent for a while. He wanted to say something, but in the end, he only said, “What... Are you doing?”
Perhaps it was because Su Yang’s question was too dumb, Chu Xia could not help but snicker. Then, she said, “Me? What else can I be doing other than thinking about you?
“I’m just doing the same thing everyday right now.”
Chu Xia’s words choked Su Yang again. He opened his mouth but did not know what to say.
In the end, it was Little Deeny who cheered him on. Su Yang finally made up his mind and smiled. “Then... Let’s meet up.. I’ve missed you too.”
