After settling everything on Thursday night, Su Yang called Xu Lu to ask about the situation.
“Hello, Xu Lu? Have you and your cousin bought the stocks?”
When she received Su Yang’s call, Xu Lu had just returned home from school. A liberal arts students, especially those who majored in dancing, actually had it harder than normal college students.
Other than some people who wanted to learn art for the college entrance examination, most liberal arts students had to train themselves during their free time.
Even though Xu Lu was not a hardworking person, she liked to dance, so when she was happy, she would practice more.
After training for an entire afternoon, Xu Lu returned home.
She opened the door, put down the key and called out the names of her best friends who were renting the same building as she was. When no one answered her, she thought that they weren’t home and might have gone out to play.
Then, Xu Lu took off her sneakers and changed into slippers before she hummed a tune as she returned to her room.
When she returned to her room, Xu Lu threw her dancing shoes into the corner and closed the door. She reached into her dress and slowly removed her stockings.
As she took off her stockings, the room was filled with the fragrance of a woman mixed together with sweat.
Feeling the coolness of her sweat-drenched slender legs in the air, Xu Lu leaned back and stretched her slender neck like a swan. Her straight pencil-like legs were crossed as she positioned herself into a tick symbol and leisurely stretched herself.
The coolness made her feel like the tiny hairs on her legs were standing up.
She opened her eyes and admired her legs. ‘I’m the most perfect being Mother Nature has created.
‘My each and every action is filled with womanly charms, my voluptuous chest, slender waist, full butt and my pair of slender white legs. My beauty isn’t something that’s able to be covered up.
‘In fact, my beauty is different from Chu Xia’s pure, innocent, and youthful beauty. It’s also different from Lin Jiali’s high and mighty beauty under the spotlight. Mine is the most primitive form of data created by hormones.
‘My beauty is above the rest in the world, fully displaying the allure of a beautiful female.
‘This kind of attraction is naturally aggressive, invading all the opposite sex that ever rely on me and not concealing the fact to tell that person that they’re my pretty for the night and they’re definitely going to fall beneath my gown.
‘And there is no other aggressiveness than the kind that makes someone happily give up fighting against it...’
Just as Xu Lu was entranced by her own body, a clear ringtone rang from her handbag.
Xu Lu lowered her legs and extended her arms. She picked up the phone from the chair gracefully and glanced at it.
With just one look, her amorous eyes seemed to have bloomed, and they shone with joy.
She couldn’t care less about her current posture and appearance as she grabbed her phone and swiped to answer the call. “Hello? Su yang, are you looking for me?”
Su Yang’s voice came from the other end. “That’s right, Xu Lu. I’m calling to ask if both you and your cousin have bought the stocks?”
The mention of her cousin made Xu Lu’s head hurt.
Actually, their family’s personalities were similar. They were both very opinionated people.
So... When her cousin told her not to trust Su Yang, she refused.
She tried to make her cousin believe in Su Yang... But her cousin still refused to believe her anyhow. Even if Su Yang had already proven his capability on Monday and Tuesday, her cousin was still very prejudiced against Su Yang, thinking that he was a scammer.
Thus, Xu Lu did not know how to communicate with her cousin.
Therefore, while she was accumulating the stocks for SUNDAY, her cousin did not agree with her at all. Her cousin’s opinion was that there were going to be more chances later on. Therefore, since Su Yang was so impressive, she would wait and see how the stock price rose that time before making a decision.
Xu Lu, on the other hand, thought to herself, ‘Missing out once means I’m missing anyway! Cousin! Are you complaining that you’re earning too little money?’
If the both of them only had different opinions, Xu Lu would not have such a headache.
The main reason was that not only did her cousin not want to invest in the stock, she also forbade Xu Lu from investing as well.
Moreover, when her cousin found out that Xu Lu was planning to invest all the money she had saved and all the money she had earned previously, she warned Xu Lu that she had seen too many people die because of stocks and she did not want Xu Lu to be the next one.
Therefore, the both of them argued for 2 days. In the end, they had no choice but to take a step back each. Xu Lu would only be allowed to invest 20,000 yuan from the time she had earned last time while her capital remained untouched.
As for how her cousin would be sure that Xu Lu did not use her capital, it was very simple. She asked Xu Lu to transfer the 20,000 yuan to her...
What Xu Lu regretted the most was that she had wanted to borrow her cousin’s money at the time.
If she had not borrowed money from her cousin, she would not have told her cousin that she was still investing with Su Yang.
If she had not told her cousin that she was still investing with Su Yang, perhaps she would not have not only failed to borrow money but also caused so much trouble!
However, Xu Lu was a smart woman. Even though she felt bitter, she did not say anything to Su Yang. “Don’t worry, Su Yang. My cousin and I have already bought this stock.”
Su Yang’s [Space Traversing Eyes] did not have the ability to see through other people’s emotions from a distance, so he took it for granted. “It’s good that you bought it. In that case, I wish you all the best in advance, Boss Xu...”
‘Boss Xu?’
Xu Lu’s eyes lit up.
She had never heard anyone call her that before. When Su Yang suddenly called her that, she actually felt extremely happy as though she had just eaten a piece of super delicious chocolate.
A smile as beautiful as a peach blossom bloomed on her face, and her voice became much gentler. “It’s all thanks to Boss Su’s help...”
Then, the 2 chatted for a while more before hanging up. After hanging up, Xu Lu’s smile slowly disappeared and the joyful look on her face slowly disappeared as well.
She looked out the window at the darkening sky and a wave of negative emotions surged in her heart. Her sixth sense told her that she had missed something.
It was a feeling that she might come to regret something very much in the future...
‘Is it because of Su Yang? I don’t think so...
‘Although I have a good impression of Su Yang, it’s not to that extent.’ In fact, in the dead of the night, Xu Lu would silently analyze her feelings for Su Yang.
Even she could not figure out where the source of her feelings for Su Yang was coming from.
‘Is it because of Su Yang as a person? Is it because of Su Yang’s status and money? Or is it because Su Yang could bring me benefits?
‘There were too many factors mixed between Su Yang and myself, so much that I can no longer understand myself.
‘So... If it’s not Su Yang, what is it?’
Xu Lu thought about it quietly, and slowly, she had a clue. ‘Perhaps it’s because of the stocks this time?
‘I can’t shake the feeling that I’ll be able to earn a lot by investing in this stock this time...
‘What should I do then?
‘My cousin is already guarding against me and has even threatened her. Furthermore, if I dared to borrow money from someone else. She’ll definitely tell my parents about it.’
Xu Lu came from an average family background, so she could not look for any relatives to lend her money. Furthermore, even if she did ask them to borrow her money, it would definitely be exposed.
‘If my parents find out that I’m investing so much money on stocks, they’ll probably be scared out of their wits.
‘They’re the most common Miao people who still live in their own village. Even though my family background isn’t that bad, it’s not that good either. Their monthly salary is only about 2 to 3,000 yuan and they had to scrimp and save to pay for me to attend university.
‘If they found out that I’m investing with someone else, they would probably have the same reaction as my cousin.
‘Should I look for my friends then? My friends are all students as well, so they might be able to come up with 1 or 2,000 yuan, but they wouldn’t be able to come up with more.
‘It’s only been less than half a year since Wang Shan’s death. Until now, I still often have nightmares about her in the middle of the night and wake up frightened.’
Wang Shan’s death had a huge impact on Xu Lu. After all, Wang Shan was 1 of her best friends. Every time she thought about how such a good friend, such a beautiful girl, had died just like that, Xu Lu made up her mind to never get a loan.
‘Well... Maybe I could get a legal loan when I buy a car or a house in the future, but I’ll never touch anything that’s illegal.’
Xu Lu ended up thinking of all the possible solutions. In fact, Xu Lu had taken out all the money she had in her Ant Credit Pay to be able to accumulate 40,000 yuan.
In the end, her cousin took away 20,000 yuan.
Xu Lu was not someone who liked to blame others. This was the first time she felt a sense of resentment towards her family and her cousin. ‘Perhaps... if my family was more well off, I wouldn’t be so powerless...’
Xu Lu did not feel good. She felt like she had seen the light, but she was trapped in a swamp. She wanted to struggle forward, but she realized that the mud around her was pulling at her nonstop.
Looking at the moon that was slowly rising outside the window, Xu Lu sighed deeply. If only she knew the future. Even if she told herself that she had an 80% chance of earning big money, she dared to risk falling out with her cousin and her family.
But everything was still unknown... Hence she really could not afford to gamble.
‘Hopefully, I’m just overthinking things. After all, I’ve often “sensed” that I would be able to earn a lot of money, but none of it has ever been real...’
If Su Yang was in Xu Lu’s situation, perhaps he would understand the feeling clearly. Sometimes, courage was a luxury to the poor.
Because sometimes, being courageous also represented gambling and it represented that there would be a possible loss.
If she had a good family background, she would not have been afraid even if she lost once. After all, she had her parents, her family to pay the bill.
However, the poor people who did not have a good family background would be the source of hope for their family themselves, so they could not afford to gamble, let alone lose.
After all, ordinary people did not have parents who could fork out billions of yuan for them...
After the phone call with Xu Lu, Su Yang gave Tang Jing a call. After confirming that she had bought stocks with the few million yuan she borrowed from her relatives and friends, Su Yang was relieved.
That was because he knew that he could go to Hawaii without worry.
However, before going to Hawaii, Su Yang had another important thing to do, triggering the Gold Mission.
As for the way to trigger the Gold Mission... it was very simple, make a wish just like the Silver Mission!
Therefore, when Tang Jing was not at home, he shouted at the ceiling of his bedroom without hesitation, “I want to influence 1 million people positively!”
As Su Yang shouted, a beep sounded in his head.
[New Gold Mission triggered.]
‘What? That actually worked?’
Actually, after he shouted, Su Yang was thinking that the system would not let him trigger it so easily. In that case, he was wondering if he had to shour the same thing with a gradual increase in price. After all, that was how he triggered the Silver Mission last time.
Unexpectedly, it was done on the first try.
Su Yang opened the system and took a look at the Gold Mission. To his surprise, it was still a subsidiary of [Road To Zenith].
[Gold Mission: Road To Zenith (4)]
Mission Objective: Lead your business to affect 1 million people and cause them to have a positive change.
Mission completion details: 103,486 / 1,000,000.
As he closed the Gold Mission, Su Yang took a look at his memo. He had done everything he could and was only waiting for the day of his departure.
Soon, 3 days passed and the day of departure arrived.
