Chapter 768 - Jiadian Mobile’s Glass Phone Officially Launches For Sale!
Su Yang asked, “Then, can you confirm who in Hangzhou did the glass phone leave from?”
Little Deeny thought for a while, seeming like she was analyzing data.
After a while, she shook her head. “I can’t, Master.
“At the time, we did not mark the phones, so we don’t know the serial number for each president’s phone.
“Also, the five president’s phones have changed hands too many times. On top of that, we don’t have a human face recognition database, so we can’t confirm the identities of the users, so there’s no way for us to investigate right now.”
After that, Little Deeny seemed to have sensed Su Yang’s uneasiness. She reached out her hand and switched off the TV. Then, she consoled Su Yang, “Master, don’t worry too much.
“We’re no longer the same as before.
“If the other party wants to come at us, with the country and Old Master Jiang supporting us from behind, they will only be throwing eggs at a huge rock literally.
“It would be even worse if they try to resort to violence. After all, you have the power of lightning.
“So, the only reason you’re worried is because they’re hiding in the dark.
“If they dare to come out in the open, trust me, we will be able to kill them within minutes!”
As she spoke, Little Deeny made an “Ok” expression, which looked cute.
Hence, Su Yang felt more at ease.
‘I’m probably overthinking this. After all, no ordinary person would be able to threaten me any longer. The reason why I’m so worried and concerned is probably because the other party is hiding in the dark, so I’m feeling a little insecure. Plus, it might also be because of the tension that my glass phones are going to be released very soon.’
Therefore, he smiled and stopped thinking about it and ordered, “Then, from tomorrow onwards, we will build our own facial recognition system. I don’t want to remain on the defensive any longer.”
Hearing this, Little Deeny nodded obediently.
After the two of them were done chatting, Su Yang did not think too much about it and started preparing for the sales the next day.
Just as he thought this through, there was a loud rumble outside the window.
Thus, Su Yang looked out of the window and realized that the moon, which was originally hanging in the sky, was now being covered by dark clouds. Plus, it was drizzling.
Apart from that, there was no moonlight, and it was dark outside. Only the occasional raindrop reflected the neon lights, adding a hint of color to the darkness.
“Drizzle, drizzle, drizzle...”
Rain was now sprinkling on the lands of Shanghai in the summer, accompanied by lightning and thunder, as if a new life was being born amidst the destruction...
On the other hand, at the Sheraton Hotel’s presidential suite in Shanghai...
A young man in a hip-hop costume sat on a chair, glancing at the person across the table as he asked, “Are you the Fox Hunter?”
The person opposite him had a long, square face. His beard was unkempt, and his hair was messy. He had a cigarette in his mouth, and his face was filled with a carefree expression. “Yeap, that’s me.”.
The young man then said, “You should already know about the mission. Here’s 10 million yuan. After the mission is completed, you will receive another 10 million yuan.”
The Fox Hunter glanced at the envelope on the table, then slapped his hand on it. “Sure. Usual rules, transfer the other half to my account.”
With that, he picked up the envelope and prepared to leave.
“Hang on,” the young man in the hip-hop outfit called out.
Thus, the Fox Hunter turned to look at him.
The young man then said, “Aren’t you going to check if the cheque is real or fake?”
The Fox Hunter grinned, and a few wisps of smoke drifted out from his teeth. “No need. If there’s a shortage in the amount, I’d only have another extra mission.”
With that, he waved and left the room.
After exiting the room, he opened the envelope and pulled out a picture. It was of a handsome “young man”. ‘Even though he’s wearing a suit, there’s still a hint of childishness in him. He looks like he’s only 15 or 16 years old.’
At that thought, he took a closer look at the picture and then rubbed it into a ball with one hand. Then, with the cigarette dangling from his lips, he mumbled, “Heh. Flowers would always be destroyed when they are at their brightest. I guess beauty is eternal.”
With that, he strode out of the hotel...
The rain outside the hotel rustled, like it was a prelude to a massacre...
At Tang Jing’s house in Shanghai, there were two people in Tang Jing’s room, an adult and a child. The both of them were lying down as they chatted.
“Mommy, tell me the story of the Big Bad kidnapping Shasha, please?”
Tang Jing was confused. “Why would the Big Bad kidnap Shasha? Isn’t Shasha your best friend?”
Tang Xiaomi said cutely, “It’s okay... Don’t worry, stories are all lies. Hehe.”
Tang Jing was speechless.
“Fine, I’ll tell you...” Tang Jing said gently. “Once upon a time...”
After half an hour of Tang Jing telling the story, Tang Xiaomi became less and less sleepy. Then, she clapped her hands and said, “That was a nice story, Mommy! Tell me another one!”
Tang Jing lovingly scratched Tang Xiaomi’s little nose. “Alright, that’s enough. You should go back to your room to sleep.”
Just as she said that, there was a loud “Rumble” outside. A bolt of lightning streaked across the dark night and lit up the entire room.
Tang Xiaomi’s body trembled for a moment. Then, she pouted and snuggled into Tang Jing’s arms. “I don’t want to. There’s thunder, I don’t dare to be alone.”
Tang Jing smiled. “Aren’t you supposed to be afraid of nothing? Why are you afraid of thunder?”
Tang Xiaomi snuggled into Tang Jing’s arms and arched her head in the softness. Then, when she found a comfortable position, she said, “I’m not afraid of thunder. It’s just that... The thunder is too loud.”
Tang Jing was amused by Tang Xiaomi’s words. “Too loud? How loud is too loud?”
Tomi thought for a moment. “Umm...”
“As loud as Su Yang...”
Right after she said that, Tang Xiaomi lifted her head from Tang Jing’s embrace and looked at her mother with her big eyes. “Mommy, when can we see Su Yang again?
“I miss him...”
Tang Jing was stunned the moment Tang Xiaomi mentioned Su Yang.
When she heard Tang Xiaomi say that, she squeezed out a smile and patted Tang Xiaomi’s head. “Good girl. You’ll see him tomorrow.”
Xiaomi wriggled out of Tang Jing’s arms in surprise. “Really?”
She asked happily, “Then, should we go to his house or his company? Or... Should we call him over? I’m a very clever girl right now, I can cook tomato scrambled eggs now! So, I can cook it for him!”
Tang Jing was amused by her daughter’s cuteness. “Good girl!”
She patted Xiaomi’s head and said, “Let’s go buy a glass phone tomorrow and increase Su Yang’s sales volume, okay? We should be able to see him then.”
Tang Xiaomi immediately clapped her hands. “Okay, okay!”
After coaxing her daughter for a while, Tang Jing patted her gently and coaxed her to sleep.
After that, Tang Jing took out her cellphone and opened up her browser.
The first line of the browser was the page she had opened last time. On the page was an entertainment article: “Billionaire CEO’s Mysterious Girlfriend Suspected To Have Been Exposed...”
The rain outside the window continued to fall, and the rustling sound was very pleasant.
At the same time, the light from the glass phone shone on Tang Jing’s beautiful face, adding a hint of sadness to her expression...
On the other hand, at Chu Xia’s house in Shanghai.
In the room, Chu Xia had tossed a pile of clothes on the bed and was trying them out one by one.
As she did that, happiness filled her face.
The next day, she would be going to a few shops with Su Yang for publicity and “inspection” purposes. In fact, this was going to be the first time she would appear in front of Su Yang’s subordinates, so she took it very seriously.
As the rain fell quietly, the rustling sound was very pleasant to hear.
Chu Xia finally found a piece of clothing that she was satisfied with. She gestured at the clothes on her body, and a beautiful smile bloomed on her fair face like a beautiful angel.
On the other hand, at Shanghai University’s Sports College dormitory...
Qu Xuan looked at the drizzle outside the window and his eyes were filled with sorrow...
Also, at Zhao Licheng’s home in Shanghai...
Zhao Licheng stood by the window, watching the drizzle as he made the phone call. “The rain may not stop tomorrow. Contact the offices of the three flagship stores’ jurisdiction and keep an eye on the security issues at the launch...”
That night, many people did not sleep. In fact, most of them were busy running around.
Some wanted to get a good spot in advance so that they could get their glass phones earlier.
Some of them were thinking about Su Yang’s technology and were discussing how they should interact with Su Yang when he appeared the next day.
Some of them were making many arrangements...
The rain fell quietly like a group of fairies watching everything from the sidelines...
The next day, the rain was less heavy, but it did not stop. Hence, the streets were filled with colorful umbrellas. Looking down from the sky, they looked like a bunch of tiles...
At 9:30am, there was a long queue at the entrance of the three Jiadian Mobile flagship stores in Shanghai. At first glance, the line was so long that they had curved around many times.
Thus, the umbrellas lined up like dragons, forming a beautiful curve and filling up the nearby sidewalk as if thousands of people were lining up to wait.
Hence, the passersby and cars could not help but be attracted by the sight.
However, when they saw the sign board, they all nodded in understanding. ‘So it’s because of the glass phone. No wonder...’
It had to be said that the launching of Jiadian’s glass phones had attracted too much curiosity. Both major and minor forces, including companies in the country, had sent about a few hundred people. This was even less of a case for people overseas... They had either bribed or sent people on their behalf to queue up early.
Apart from them, half of the remaining people were scalpers, while the rest were regular consumers.
In response to such a situation, Su Yang had already made an announcement on Weibo and his official website. ‘Due to a production issue, each customer can only purchase two sets within a month with their personal identification card.
‘If anyone wants to buy it for their families, we are sorry, but that family member would have to personally buy it by themselves.’
Even though this did not completely eliminate both scalpers and those with malicious intentions, there was at least an additional checkpoint, which had a considerable effect. Especially with Little Deeny as a filter, the success rate was guaranteed.
Of course, what Su Yang did not say was that he was actually building up his face-recognition database in the meantime.
At 9:40am, Su Yang arrived at the largest Jiadian Mobile flagship phone store in Shanghai.
As the Lincoln Limousine stopped by Jiadian’s Mobile’s flagship store, everyone’s attention was attracted.
Then, the car door opened, with Jia Xiaoqian and Pan Zhaodi alighting one after another with their umbrellas held up.
After that, Su Yang and Chu Xia got out of the car.
Su Yang was dressed in a black suit with a shirt underneath, looking both vaillant and heroic. On the other hand, Chu Xia was wearing a light red gown, looking formal and youthful.
The saying “it’s the clothes that make the man” is very true. With their matching clothes, Su Yang looked much more handsome, while Chu Xia looked much more charming.
Thus, the good looking couple got out of the car and walked into the flagship store under everyone’s gaze.
The store assistants were already waiting at the entrance to welcome them, with the store leader being Su Yang’s earliest employee, Chen Xiaoyun.
As a veteran of Su Yang’s initial stage of entrepreneurship, Chen Xiaoyun had already been promoted to an intermediate management position in the company within a year. However, due to the limitation of her abilities, it was difficult for her to improve further. Hence, when Zhao Licheng was choosing the store manager, she recommended herself and wanted to give it a try.
In the end, Zhao Licheng chose her and let her take charge of the largest flagship store.
So, when she saw Su Yang, she hurried over with her employees.
Arriving before Su Yang and Chu Xia, she looked at the boss who had brought her out to distribute flyers a year ago. At that moment, there was a flash of reminiscence in her eyes as she lamented how much time had passed. ‘He’s grown so fast that I can’t even see the soles of his shoes anymore...’
However, Chen Xiaoyun didn’t show her sadness. Instead, she smiled and led the employees to bow. “Mr. Su!”
Then, she looked at Chu Xia, who was beside Su Yang. Having seen Chu Xia many times in the company, she smiled and nodded. “Miss Chu Xia.”
Chu Xia nodded with a smile while Su Yang encouraged them, “It’s been hard on everyone, I’m going to rely on everyone here today..”
After saying that, he added, “By the way, have all the security personnel arrived?”
Last night, Zhao Licheng was worried that there would be too many people in the queue and that there might be problems with the order of the situation. Hence, he had Mr. Jia contact the police in advance. After that, he was to inform Su Yang about the matter as well.
Chen Xiaoyun nodded. “They’ve just arrived and are maintaining order outside.”
Su Yang nodded. “Alright, get ready and let’s begin.”
Chen Xiaoyun said, “Understood.”
At the same time, Zhao Licheng and Li Zijun, the other two executives of the Jiadian Group, also went to the venue.
For such a big event like the launching sales of Jiadian Mobile’s glass phones, the people from Jiadian Group had gone all out to prepare for it.
Meanwhile, Shanghai TV Station, as well as many media outlets and online media outlets had already heard about the trending topic. They were already waiting at the entrance of the three flagship stores, broadcasting the event live.
In the past, this kind of situation had happened before, but that was when Apple, the global leader, started selling new phones. However, other brands did not have similar cases.
Hence, it was completely unexpected that a domestically manufactured cellphone would have such an effect at that moment!
Undeniably, it had raised the morale of the local citizens!
Some online media outlets even claimed that this was the day that domestically manufactured cellphones would rise!
From that day onwards, China’s cellphones would truly head off towards the world and become the leader of the world’s cellphone industry!
As a cellphone from another era, there were many people who had high hopes for it. The earliest people who came to line up were said to have arrived at 3am. Based on this, it could be seen just how excited and expectant everyone was.
Of course, this excitement and anticipation also carried a trace of nervousness.
‘Is this glass phone really as good as shown in the video?
‘Is this glass phone really that amazing?
‘Could it be a semi-finished product or just a concept device?
‘Could all this be a bad joke?’
In that era, it was hard to believe what one saw, not to mention that they had only seen it on the internet and on television. Therefore, when many customers queued up, their hearts were racing.
At 9:50am, two officers entered the store and greeted them. They were responsible for maintaining order in the store.
At 10am, Jiadian Mobile’s glass phones officially launched for sale!
Hence, the three flagship stores opened up their doors at the same time.
