Chapter 727 - Cao Qiguang Got Arrested
“Duh... Du... Du...”
“Du... Du... Du... Du...”
In the end, the call did not go through, it was as if the person on the other end had already forgotten about him...
Hence, Cao Qiguang’s heart slowly sank to the bottom of the ocean. He felt like he was completely shrouded in darkness and his face was filled with despair in the end...
‘Could it be... I’m literally so miniscule in Su yang’s mind?
‘I’m the chairman of a 10 billion yuan company for God’s sake!’
In fact, it was true that Su Yang no longer paid any attention to this matter. After all, he did not even feel that billions of yuan in net worth was not even worth his attention. It may hace affected him somewhat if that value were actual cash-in-hand...
Of course, the other reason was that as the mastermind behind the entire incident, Su Yang was extremely carefree. After handing the matter over to Zhao Licheng, he had already placed all his attention on the filming of “Wandering Planet”.
In fact, Su Yang had followed the crew of “Wandering Planet” to the filming venue on Qingdao and started filming.
Originally, he had planned to keep everything simple and experience the life of a normal actor. Unfortunately, he had forgotten his identity.
As a “rookie actor”, Su Yang was treated differently by the production team and other actors.
For example, when he was eating, the actresses from the production team kept running to him to share a table with him and ate as they chatted non-stop.
Then, after he finished filming a scene, the production crew treated him more politely than they treated the director.
Apart from that, after filming ended everyday, the director would always invite Su Yang to his room late at night...
Then, he would show Su Yang whatever had been filmed that day and would only heave a sigh of relief after Su Yang thought that they were all what he was expecting.
Therefore, all of these actions made Su Yang feel uncomfortable to be in the production crew.
In fact, he felt that he preferred the atmosphere when he was in “Wolf Warriors”, where they would only treat him as a newcomer and not an emperor.
However, he also understood that there was only one person who was like Wu Feng. If there were people with such character everywhere, it would cease to become a rare sight. Furthermore, his investment in “Wolf Warriors” was completely different from his investment in “Wandering Planet”. On top of that, the popularity of “Wolf Warriors” was also different from that of “Wandering Planet”.
Strictly speaking, there was not a single big shot in “Wandering Planet”, from the producer to the director, main cast and supporting roles... They were all newbies...
Hence, it was understandable why they would be trembling in fear in front of Su Yang.
However, those tough days did not last long. Within two days, Lin Jiali, who was undergoing training in the production team, finished her training and started filming. This allowed Su Yang to have someone to play with in the production team...
During filming, the bored Su Yang would always give Lin Jiali weird questions such as... A submarine can only seat 10 people and there are nine of them at the moment. However, a pregnant woman requested to have a seat at this point. Now, why did the submarine sink?
Lin Jiali’s answer was... The pregnant woman had a child in her womb, so there were a total of 11 people, which exceeded the submarine’s weight limit.
Su Yang ended up laughing for a long time before giving her a thumbs up and said that she answered correctly.
However, ever since then, Lin Jiali would always notice that Su Yang was staring at her and sniggering, causing her to be confused...
This was because Su Yang felt that humiliating Lin Jiali’s intelligence was the only thing that could make him feel happy in such a boring production crew...
“Hey, Jiali.”
“Huh?”
“Let me ask you another question.”
Lin Jiali looked at Su Yang warily, wary that he would attack the remnants of her brain cells again.
Su Yang looked at her and smiled happily. “What do you call a deer with no eyes?”
When Lin Jiali heard Su Yang’s question, she thought about it for a long time. However, she did not realize that there was a trick to the question.
Therefore, she looked at Su Yang with some hesitation and said, “No eye deer.”
Su Yang covered his mouth and giggled. “Exactly, no idea (eye deer), just like you, hahaha!”
Lin Jiali was speechless and felt that her intelligence had been insulted...
‘Also, why would you make a homophonic joke?! You’re such a bore!’
After Su Yang bullied Lin Jiali, he proudly walked around the set with his hands behind his back. From his rear view, he looked like an old man who had just won three yuan in a two yuan ante game...
Whenever this happened, the rest of the crew would laugh to themselves, knowing that their investor had just bullied the supporting actress.
The female lead of the movie, Xiao Mai, was sitting together with Director Guo Fan and discussing the script. When she saw Su Yang’s expression, she couldn’t help but say, “Brother Su and Sister Jiali seem really close.”
Guo Fan glanced at Xiao Mai and said nothing. As a director, he did not want to get involved in these things and only wanted to film his own movie.
Over the next few days, nothing else happened.
Although Su Yang was the main character of the movie by name, he did not have many scenes. Furthermore, Guo Fan had arranged all his scenes to be filmed together. Hence, it only took Su Yang 10 days before he was done with filming his parts.
All in all, looking at the finished product, Su Yang felt that he had done a good job and was much better than the new generation actors in China who were under 30 years old. After all, no matter what, he was still a professional actor with [Beginner Stunt Acting Ability], which consisted of [3 to 4 years of majoring in a formal university ] + [ 3 years of actual work experience].
‘How many actors nowadays could actually be so hard working and professional in their work?’
During the filming process, there were only two scenes that required Su Yang to do some stunts, whose performance ended up being even more outstanding. At that time, Guo Fan wanted to help Su Yang find a substitute, but Su Yang rejected him outright and went on stage personally, performing even more outstandingly than usual.
Under Wu Feng’s guidance and modification, any “romance” between the male and female lead were removed from the script. Thus, the main plot was about the protagonist team saving the planet, making the movie’s main theme an even more unified one, a domestic sentiment.
When their mother planet was in danger, be it the elderly or the children, men or women, they would all step forward and work hard for their home!
After filming, Su Yang invited everyone to a meal to celebrate his wrap. After all, as the investor of the production team, everyone had given him face and support during filming. Hence, it would indeed be inappropriate for him not to express his gratitude.
Furthermore, since he had bought everyone this meal in advance, it meant that he would not be attending the formal wrap party again, leaving Guo Fan to be the only main character when that happened.
After filming, Su Yang did not take a plane. Instead, he used [Space Traversing Eyes] and returned to Shanghai.
At the same time, Xinli Education’s incident that affected the entire Hong Kong stock market came to an end...
In this battle, the capital market in Hong Kong saw what was called an efficient capital meat grinder...
Initially, the data falsification was only limited to Xinli Education, but for some reason, the online education section started to collapse as well because several section heads were attacked.
Furthermore, these sniping methods were similar to what had happened to Xinli Education. It was not the conventional method of emptying out a company, but rather through a small group of accounts ganging up together and conducting trades within an interval of milliseconds, thus effectively suppressing the price.
A few online education listed companies did not pay much attention to this at first, but they soon received news from some organizations that their stocks were being loaned out in large quantities. Hence, they begin to suspect that they were being emptied out.
It was only at that moment when they realized that something was amiss, hence they could no longer remain idle and began coming up with a solution.
However... It was already too late.
Actually, when Wei Lin was calculating the shares of Xinli Education, he realized that the amount the company had was too small and could not accommodate that amount of funds intended to empty out a company. Therefore, with a stroke of genius, Wei Lin changed his mind. ‘Since we’re emptying out a company, why should I limit to just one company?
‘I might as well snipe the entire section.’
Naturally, Wei Lin ended up setting his eyes on the online education section within Hong Kong Stock Exchange. After all, it was “close by”.
However, with over 2 billion yuan at play, if he followed the conventional method, Wei Lin would only have 60-120 billion yuan worth of shares. Any higher than that and the risk would be too high.
10 billion yuan would be more than enough to snipe a company, but he would be a little over-confident in himself if he were to snipe an entire section.
Therefore, Wei Lin came up with another stroke of genius as he thought of the female leader of the little monsters, Little Deeny.
After all, Little Deeny had eight doppelgangers, of which all eight of them were high-speed processors. ‘If I distribute the money and shares into many small accounts and have all the Little Deenys, including Mr. Cao as well, to buy and sell the stocks non-stop, wouldn’t I be able to suppress the share price?’
At that thought, Wei Lin felt that his plan was very feasible, and if it was really possible, Wei Lin did not need to operate the accounts manually. All he only needed was to grasp the overall situation and issue his orders accordingly.
In the end... Wei Lin succeeded. He took 2 billion yuan and borrowed 10 billion yuan worth of shares within the online education section at a 20% deposit before letting Little Deeny buy and sell them in batches.
Under the control of Little Deeny’s eight doppelgangers, the attacks came wave after wave.
Normally speaking, if things were done conventionally, after the shares were sold, one only needed to attack at the crucial point. However, under Little Deeny’s management, the entire process became dynamic.
At 11:23:16, she sold 10,000 Xinli Education’s shares at 32.3.
At 11:23:17, she bought 2,000 Xinli Education’s shares at 29.1 to 29.3.
At 11:23:18, she sold 7,000 Xinli Education’s shares at 28.54.
The entire transaction process was a dynamic process of buying and selling. The wave after wave of attacks stunned all the companies..
This went on for about 10 days, until the major trading agencies stopped lending their stocks and the stock prices of several major online education companies plummeted by more than 40%.
After that, Wei Lin started to use Little Deeny’s scattered accounts to buy more stocks and return them to various organizations.
In the battle, Wei Lin reshuffled the entire online education sector within Hong Kong Stock Exchange, which ended with Xinli Education losing 80% of its market value. On the other hand, other leading companies also lost about 20-40%. As a whole, the entire online education sector lost 100 billion yuan.
After removing the transaction fees, Wei Lin earned a total of 3.2 billion yuan in cash for Su Yang.
In ten days, the amount of money increased from 2 billion to 5.2 billion, effectively earning 2.6 times the original capital.
Of course, earning money from this sniping process was just the secondary objective. The most important thing was to deal with Cao Qiguang.
Cao Qiguang had been calling Su Yang non-stop since the day the shares of Xinli Education fell. However, Su Yang had already gotten Little Deeny to block his calls.
Later, he went to ask for help from the various investors, but they did not believe him anymore.
With no more cards to play, he had no choice but to attend the press conference as planned.
However, because Su Yang was the one who made it public first, which effectively caused Cao Qiguang to be late to admit his mistake, the investors in Hong Kong did not believe him at all. In fact, many of them even threw rotten eggs and vegetables at him.
In the end, Cao Qiguang had to flee from the press conference.
After escaping from the press conference, Wei Lin knew that it was useless for him to stay in Hong Kong, hence he rushed back to Shanghai overnight and wanted to contact all the big investors to think of a way to save the company.
However, as soon as he got off the plane, he was arrested by the police who were waiting at the airport.
Cao Qiguang was stunned and was still thinking in his head. ‘Even if I did falsify data, it’s not so severe to the extent of being caught, is it?’
Hence, he called for a lawyer and the company’s legal department.
When he arrived at the police station, Cao Qiguang found out the reason for his arrest from the officer. Someone had accused him of murder.
Cao Qiguang’s first reaction was that Su Yang was the one who told the police about it, hence he was very relieved. This was because it was a fact that he did not murder Zhao Licheng, thus no matter how the police investigated, they would not be able to find anything on him.
However... When he met someone he could never have forgotten for his entire life, Cao Qiguang panicked completely.
This was because he would never have thought that the murderer he had hired ten years ago would end up standing before him...
By the time Su Yang returned to Shanghai, Cao Qiguang’s case had already been officially investigated. On top of that, Xinli Education being sued by investors in Hong Kong were brought to trial as well on grounds of... Of course, “fraud”. Hence, the compensation amount was fixed at 20 billion yuan.
If Cao Qiguang had tried to use money or his own power to settle this issue of his, then once the collapse of Xinli Education’s stocks emerged, all his reliance would be gone.
Thus, Cao Qiguang was like a rooster that had been stripped naked and tossed into the snow.
Therefore, how could his trusted subordinate possibly even care about him anymore? Instead, he had already run away with his assistant, a.k.a. lover...
At that moment, Cao Qiguang felt the cruel reality of society...
When Su Yang returned home after filming, he was eating the cherries Little Deeny had washed for him as he read the latest news update.
When Su Yang saw that Zhao Licheng had found the culprit that Cao Qiguang had bought and persuaded him to be a witness, Su Yang raised his head in surprise and asked, “How did he do it?”
Little Deeny shrugged. “Money, I guess.”
Su Yang blinked and felt that he understood what had happened. ’10 years ago, the murderer could kill Cao Qiguang for money. 10 years later, who’s to say that he won’t testify for Zhao Licheng for money again?
‘This is all that’s left of that man’s values... Money.
‘After all, Zhao Licheng is the richest little monster in my roster, so it won’t be a problem for him to bribe a murderer into testifying.
‘In fact, I even suspect that Zhao Licheng didn’t even spend too much money. I don’t really believe that such a murderer could properly manage his money and save up a few hundred thousand yuan. Perhaps, he might even spend it all right after he gets out of prison...’
Therefore, Su Yang immediately understood what Little Deeny meant after she said that.
When Su Yang thought of how it seemed like Cao Qiguang would not be able to escape that time, he smiled.
After he was done discussing the murderer, Su Yang continued reading.
Sure enough, Zhao Licheng was indeed a five-star genius.
When Su Yang was busy with filming, besides settling his own matter, Zhao Licheng also gave Su Yang another surprise.
