Chapter 809 - Wang Jiang’s Counterattack
As soon as Huang Zheng thought of this, he felt that it made sense. After all, in his opinion, with Su Yang’s status, it was impossible for him to say something meaningless.
Furthermore, he was dealing with Wang Jiang at such a crucial time, so Su Yang must have his own reasons for his words. Hence, when Huang Zheng thought about it again and realized that there was no conclusion to Su Yang’s plan, he felt that Su Yang must have been hinting at him.
After he roughly understood Su Yang’s hint, Huang Zheng started to think. ‘Why is Su Yang giving me a hint?
‘If Su Yang is really interested in the Zhongan Automobile, he could very well make his move.
‘After all, with Su Yang’s status and capability, if even Wang Jiang is able to be toppled, it would be impossible for Zhongan Automobile to escape his grasp.’
This question caused Huang Zheng’s train of thought to come to an impasse as he pondered for more than half an hour. In the end, his stack of documents gave him inspiration. ‘That’s right... Zhongan Automobile is Wang Jiang’s company, so it’s not on par with Su Yang’s identity.
‘It would be humiliating for Su Yang to go against Zhongan Automobile since their identities aren’t on par.
‘However, I, as Su Yang’s subordinate, have the same status as Zhongan Automobile, so it would only be reasonable for me to handle this matter.’
With that thought in mind, Huang Zheng finally understood what he needed to do. He felt that he needed to help Su Yang settle Zhongan Automobile and gain control of it! After all, this was the only company that Su Yang cared about in Wang Jiang’s incident.
Thankfully, Huang Zheng was born and raised in Zhejiang Province. So, with his current status, he had a friend who knew the CEO of Zhongan Automobile and could carry out his plan. Otherwise, it would be really difficult to handle!
At the thought of this, he did not hesitate anymore. He felt that as Su Yang’s subordinate, he should help Su Yang resolve his troubles. Therefore, he would definitely help Su Yang settle the issue with Zhongan Automobile!
On the other hand, Su Yang did not know that Huang Zheng had a misunderstanding because of what he said. In fact, he was still battling in the game, eliminating one opponent after another.
As the sound of gunshots rang out in the game, the enemies seemed to have been endless. It was as if the “battle” was not over yet...
In the next half month, the entire Zhejiang Province was in a state of turmoil. With the detailed evidence provided by Old Master Yang, the investigation team had very smoothly grasped a series of illegal clues on Wang Jiang. They also followed the clues and found many of Wang Jiang’s direct descendants and companies with close relationships.
However, at the same time, Wang Jiang did not just sit back and wait for his end to come.
As the head of this generation of the Wangs, he knew that there was still room for negotiation. After all, he was a member of the Wangs, and he had an old man in his family who could make the final decision.
Furthermore, even if the old man was not around, the Wangs had been in charge of Zhejiang Province for so many years that they were deeply rooted in the province. As one of the top forces, the Wangs had friends all over the world.
It was too easy for him to be dealt with because of this!
After all, the Wang family was big and powerful. Even if they had a legitimate reason, once they dealt with it, they would feel as if their entire body would be affected.
Therefore, during this period of time, many top forces called Zhejiang Province and Zhongdu with the intention of pleading for Wang Jiang.
For a moment, though Wang Jiang was suspended, there was no further news...
Compared to Wang Jiang who was having fun, Juduoduo and Findme app had long returned to their normal operations. Furthermore, because the forces in Zhejiang Province knew that they were companies under Su Yang, they did not dare to make any moves before the situation was clear. Thus, if they wanted to do anything, they would all bypass them.
At that moment, the two companies became the most peaceful places in the turbulent Zhejiang Province.
This situation was actually caused by a series of reasons. However, from the outside, everyone felt that it was all because of Su Yang.
Huang Zheng even called Su Yang once a week to get to know him better on the pretense of them having a chat. He even asked about Su Yang’s current situation from time to time, which annoyed the latter...
After all, a battle between top factions was never a simple matter, especially when it involved the Wangs, who had a certain status in the country, it was only normal for a stalemate to go on for a while.
However, Su Yang was getting impatient.
Just like what he had told Little Deeny and Little Hus, his goal was the whole Earth, the whole galaxy even, not someplace as minor as Zhejiang province or the Wangs. So, if Su Yang kept focusing on this matter, it would only slow down the pace of other things.
Especially in that half a day, Su Yang had almost completed all his work. As long as he finished dealing with the Wangs, Su Yang could start the next step of his plan. Thus, this made him become even more impatient.
During this half a month, the researchers that the Clown Sea Serpent had “captured” for Su Yang, those who had been revived and those who had entered the virtual space, had all officially started their research.
Amongst them, even Martha, the “Madam Toxic Charcoal”, had been resurrected, and she was willingly conducting research on the being with spiritual energy in the virtual space.
It would be worth mentioning that Lady Martha’s monster form was a man-eating flower, which looked beautiful, but deadly...
Besides scientific research, “Legend of Wu Zetian” had already been released a month ago, but its viewership ratings were still rising steadily.
In fact, over the past half a month, the ratings of “Legend of Wu Zetian” had risen from 3.0 to 3.4, with their viewer shares also increased from 7.95% to 8.855%. In the nationwide statistics, the ratings of “Legend of Wu Zetian” had not only reached 3.96, its viewer shares had also risen to 10.69%!
This meant that one person out of every 10 people watching TV was watching “Legend of Wu Zetian”. Even though this was incomparable to the miracle that “Return Of The Pearl Princess” had created, it was the best result in recent years..
The result of this was “Legend of Wu Zetian”, which had broadcasted 67 episodes up until that moment. The average viewership ratings had broken 3.0 and reached 3.2, thus completing the Bet-On Contract between Jiadian Group and the five platforms in advance!
According to the Staircase Program agreement between Su Yang and the five platforms, he could get 150% of the copyright fees from them, which was a total of 900 million yuan!
This outstanding performance also caused many other satellite channels to start discussing the collaboration between Jiadian Group about the third and fourth broadcast of “Legend Of Wu Zetian”.
After all, after watching the momentum of “Legend Of Wu Zetian”, the average viewership ratings of the remaining 20 episodes would probably reach an astonishing 3.5!
This was enough to make “Legend Of Wu Zetian” one of the top three TV serieses in the entire country’s viewership ratings!
A show of this level could easily get 1.3-1.5 viewership ratings even if it was only three or four episodes, allowing it to be ranked in the top 15 of the year, and all the major TV channels would make a huge profit.
On the other hand, the three online platforms that broadcasted “Legend of Wu Zetian” at the same time also made a lot of money at the same time. Just Youku alone had managed to accumulate over 1 billion views, and the average number of views per episode was close to 20 million. On top of that, there were 210,000 comments with ratings as high as 9.9.
Not only that, but on the Youku index, the Youku TV series, and the search results, “Legend of Wu Zetian” was also ranked first, making it a truly remarkable series.
In fact, this was the platform that had the worst data out of all three platforms.
After all, Youku was the weakest of the three major video platforms, so “Legend of Wu Zetian” was even more outstanding on Tencent and IQiyi.
All in all, the three major platforms had almost been dominated by “Legend Of Wu Zetian”. Plus, almost 40% of their users had all watched the TV series before.
This was some scary data.
Hence, in terms of “Legend Of Wu Zetian”, there was nothing for Su Yang to worry about since the TV series was destined to become top three in history, but definitely not the first.
After all, the first place was being held by “Return Of The Pearl Princess”, which was a bug...
No matter how confident Su Yang was about “Legend Of Wu Zetian”, he still could not believe that his TV series could surpass it. Thus, he believed that its ranking had reached its extent.
During this half a month, Su Yang’s career was progressing rapidly. However, Wang Jiang was like an old man who refused to fall.
Hence, Su Yang could not contain his emotions and decided to take action personally.
After all, it was not a good sign that Wang Jiang had not been knocked down by the sudden attack that Old Master Yang had planned for a long time. This was because the fact that Wang Jiang had not fallen proved that things were still leaning towards Wang Jiang’s favor.
Therefore, Su Yang wanted to give Wang Jiang the last blow and send him on his way.
However, before he made his move, Su Yang had to discuss with Old Master Yang to get more information. Hence, he asked Pan Zhaodi to drive him to Hangzhou first. After confirming Old Master Yang’s location, he arrived at the latter’s house.
After not seeing him for more than twenty days, Old Master Yang seemed to be in a very bad mental state. His white hair had grown longer, and he looked more haggard. Obviously, he had been under a lot of pressure for the past half month.
When he saw Su Yang, he took the initiative to invite Su Yang to sit beside him and dismissed the rest. He then frowned and said, “We’ve underestimated the Wangs.”
Su Yang looked at Old Master Yang and waited for his explanation.
Old Master Yang sighed. “Over the past half a month, I’ve received calls from several big shots in Zhongdu asking me about this matter. But based on their words, they actually want me to give up on my own accord.
“And above me, there were a few organizations that agreed to help. But, when we started to take action, they realized that there were more people helping the Wangs.
“Even though I’ve been trying to rope in our allies and Wang Jiang’s enemies, Wang Jiang hasn’t been remaining idle as well. The more people I find, the more people he will gather as well. Therefore, there have been many disagreements regarding this matter, and they are still in a stalemate.
Su Yang pondered for a moment and added, “But, this isn’t advantageous for us at this stage.”
Old Master Yang rubbed his temples and said tiredly, “That’s exactly what I wanted to say. The fact that we can’t carry on with the plan shows that we don’t have enough strength.
“Furthermore, we’re currently on the offensive, but if we don’t make our move soon, it’s going to be easy for our allies to be demoralized. If someone decides to give up after seeing that they aren’t going to win, we’re going to lose this battle.
“Then... Sigh.” Old Master Yang sighed and did not continue.
Su Yang understood what Old Master Yang was trying to say. Once their forces collapsed, Wang Jiang would be back to his original position as the King of Zhejiang after some minor reprimands. Then, Old Master Yang, who was charging ahead, would definitely be dealt with. Of course, Su Yang, the mastermind, would definitely not be able to escape either, which was why Old Master Yang looked so haggard at that moment. In fact, even his white hair had increased.
After explaining the current situation, Old Master Yang was silent for a while. Then, he looked at Su Yang. “You haven’t made a move, right?”
Su Yang was speechless.
‘Why should I make a move?
‘I can’t even life a finger in that situation, so how am I supposed to make my move?
‘Besides, didn’t you say that you would settle this? How would I know that you wouldn’t be able to handle it?’
Su Yang fell silent.
Old Master Yang did not think too much about Su Yang’s silence. He thought that Su Yang had merely agreed.
After all, in Old Master Yang’s heart, Su Yang had a strong background who had the power to make the final decision on such matters.
Therefore, he thought for a while and said, “Now that it’s come to this, we have no way out.”
Su Yang looked hesitant.
When he saw the hesitation in Su Yang’s eyes, Old Master Yang thought that Su Yang was weighing the consequences of his actions.
Hence, he could not help but recall the agreement he had with Su Yang.
The main reason why Old Master Yang helped Su Yang to deal with Wang Jiang was so that he could improve. But now that he was in a difficult situation, he was in no mood to improve. He only hoped that he could win and return to his original position.
Hence, he hesitated for a while. When he saw that Su Yang did not reply, he gritted his teeth and said to Su Yang, “If it isn’t convenient for you to do it twice within a short period of time, I would like to use the chance that you promised me to help me on this occasion.”
Su Yang looked at Old Master Yang in shock.
‘Old Master Yang seems determined.’
Immediately, Su Yang understood what Old Master Yang meant.
He could not help but sigh with emotion. ‘Indeed, when a person loses a bet, they would always have the illusion of trying to “mitigate their losses”. In fact, it’s this mentality that often meant that they would end up losing everything.
‘Fortunately, he’s met me, who, To be honest, could actually do it...’
The last time he met Old Master Yang in Hangzhou, after confirming the details of the collaboration, Su Yang had a headache over how to fulfill Old Master Yang’s request. That night, he arranged to meet Jiang Yan to understand how the big shots worked on such matters and see if there were any loopholes to exploit.
As Su Yang’s ‘backer’, Jiang Yan was the only person who knew that Su Yang did not have any background. Hence, Su Yang’s questions would not expose his identity.
Although Jiang Yan looked cold on the surface, she was a nice person. After knowing that Su Yang was going to do something serious, she told him the rules of the world of big shots.
After knowing that the fate of Old Master Yang and Wang Jiang would ultimately be decided by a few top-notch people in Zhongdu, Su Yang had a bold idea.
He did not have any background, so he could not extend his hand into the circle of the top forces, but... That did not mean that he could not influence these big shots.
After all, he was not an ordinary person. He was a man with cheats.
If there was a problem, he could just cheat his way out of it. On the other hand, if there were no problems, he could have Little Hus find something to cheat on!
Furthermore, he did not even need to look for a cheat because he had an item that could be used directly...
