‘I don’t suppose she’s here to condemn me, is she?
‘After all... I’ve skipped classes for a week... So she’s probably under a lot of pressure.’
With that thought in mind, Su Yang left the conference room and got Little Deeny to pick up the call.
Chu Xia’s lively voice came through the phone. “Su Yang, you’re back in Shanghai?”
Su Yang replied, “Yeah, I just came back last night.”
Chu Xia said, “That’s great. Can you do me a favor? Wang Bei and her friend wanted to ask us out on a double date. She’s been begging me for a long time and I couldn’t refuse her any longer, so I’ve got no choice but to ask you. Would you be able to join me?”
Su Yang asked curiously, “Which friend of Wang Bei’s?”
Chu Xia said, “The one that was a little chubby the other day. The one with the surname Lu.”
‘Fatty Lu...
‘Why is he looking for me?’
‘I’m not a fool. Wang Bei has never interacted with me before. The only time we ever had a conversation was just a while ago. Even if she had something to talk to me about, there were many opportunities for us to talk alone since we’re classmates. Therefore, there’s no need for us to go out on a date.
‘Therefore, she’s definitely been asked by someone to ask Chu Xia out on a date.
‘As for who asked her to do it? Obviously, it’s Fatty Lu.
‘However, I do have to commend Fatty Lu for his intricate plans. If he were to ask me out alone, there’s a high chance that I might not go. However, since it’s Chu Xia who’s asking, I won’t be able to reject her.’
With that thought, he smiled and said, “Sure. Which day?”
Chu Xia said, “The day after tomorrow. In the afternoon.”
Su Yang took a look at his timetable and found that it should not affect his schedule, so he agreed.
Of course, even though he agreed, he still had to bargain. “Um... I’m going to be a little busy these 2 weeks, so I won’t be able to go to school.”
Chu Xia was speechless
She was about to go crazy. “You’ve already skipped classes for a week! And you still want to skip school for another half a month! In that case, you might as well not attend this entire semester!”
Su Yang coughed. “I’m really busy.”
Chu Xia said angrily, “I don’t care, you’ve got to show up at least once a week!”
Seeing that Chu Xia was serious, Su Yang could only agree...
Su Yang hung up the phone and returned to his office to continue the discussion.
Soon, a day had passed. Su Yang allowed for his staff to get off work 2 hours earlier. Then, he treated everyone to a meal to get to know each other better, gaining their hearts in the meantime.
Everyone enjoyed the meal, and the new employees had a greater sense of belonging to the company.
Su Yang did not return home after he was done there. Instead, he asked Pan Zhaodi to drive him to the artificial intelligence laboratory.
‘Since I’m going to have to complete the silver mission, I’ve got to make sure the 5 investment projects are done right, one by one. The first will be the artificial intelligence laboratory.’
The artificial intelligence laboratory was located in the high-tech park.
‘Although it’s called an artificial intelligence laboratory, it would be better to call it a server room since there are only various hardwares that Little Deeny requested to purchase.
‘According to Little Deeny’s plan: In addition to operating artificial intelligence, these hardwares can also build their own servers. This way, there will be no need to put future products such as my app on Alibaba Cloud.
‘Because the servers have higher requirements for rooms and cables and the Hi-Tech Park offers various preferential policies, not only is the fee waived, there are also a pile of subsidies as well. So, Pan Zhaodi ended up choosing this location for the artificial intelligence laboratory.
‘Due to the fact that the fees were waived, Pan Zhaodi decided to book an entire floor of the office like she did for business purposes. Other than the two large rooms that were used to store all kinds of equipment, there were also many work desks and offices outside for me to expand later on.
‘After all, I’ve got a huge goal for building this laboratory. I’m planning to develop this laboratory into a large-scale laboratory with artificial intelligence as the core, robotics, data, the Internet of Things and intelligent equipment.
‘Anyway, I haven’t got my own land at the moment, nor do I have the money to build my own building. Therefore, it would be a waste not to use the conditions given by Hi-Tech Park.’
After asking Pan Zhaodi to wait for him downstairs, Su Yang walked into the server room of the laboratory. The laboratory was a little quiet and the power was not turned on.
Su Yang turned on the power and looked at the empty artificial intelligence laboratory as he conversed with Little Deeny.
“Little Deeny, how do you plan to operate this?”
Little Deeny said, “Master, you’ll need to help me assemble those hardwares, then set up the intranet and connect me to it...”
Then, Little Deeny told her a bunch of detailed procedures as Su Yang listened with his eyes wide open and asked her a soul-stirring question. “Little Deeny... do you think I can understand what you just said?
Little Deeny was speechless.
She was getting a little frustrated. “This should be very simple, Master!”
‘This isn’t simple at all, alright!
‘Not only does it involve the installation of the hardwares, it also involves various operations. There’s no way I can handle this.
‘I’d much rather it to be direct compared to such complicated steps.’
Therefore, he directly scanned all the hardware equipment into the virtual space so that Little Deeny could install and make the adjustments inside.
After exiting the computer room, Su Yang found a random seat in the living room and started chatting with Little Deeny. “Little Deeny, I don’t think it’s a good idea to carry on like this.”
“If you keep up not having a physical body. Even if I scanned all the hardware into the virtual space for you to do it this time, you wouldn’t be able to operate the moment there’s an issue with the server.”
Little Deeny, who had 8 core processors, was very casual about it. She ordered her other 7 clones to install the hardware while she chatted with Su Yang. “It’s very troublesome, but I haven’t been able to leave the virtual space even after adding points 3 times. It’s not like I have a choice...”
‘Leave the virtual space?
‘Eh?’
Su Yang pondered for a moment. ‘Have we over complicated the situation?’
‘If I want Little Deeny to move around in the real world, I don’t have to get Little Deeny to leave the virtual space. Wouldn’t it be better if she controlled a virtual avatar in real life?’
At that thought, Su Yang’s eyes lit up. ‘That’s totally doable!’
He quickly shared his thoughts with Little Deeny.
Little Deeny had never thought that there would be such a possibility. However, Su Yang’s reminder made sense!
She could not help but say to Su Yang, “Master! It’s really doable!”
All the targets they had were obvious, robots, dolls, monkeys, Transformers, and... Octopuses.
‘Of course, these things can only be used after adding points onto it. Otherwise, no matter how amazing Little Deeny is, there’s no way she could control it.’
It had been a long time since he took the initiative to add points onto items. Now that he had the intention to add points onto an item, he immediately locked the door and planned to bring Little Hus to find something that he could add a point on to become a clone for Little Deeny.
When they got downstairs, Pan Zhaodi stood in front of the car with her hands crossed over her abdomen. Her legs were straight and her face was stern. Her professional attire made her look even more cold and calm.
When she saw Su Yang, she bowed slightly. “Mr. Su.”
Su Yang patted her shoulder. “Sister Zhaodi, you don’t have to be so reserved if there are no outsiders.”
Pan Zhaodi replied, “Understood.”
‘Fine, she completely brushed that off.’
Su Yang did not insist any further. Instead, he said, “When we’re both available, let’s spar.”
When Pan Zhaodi heard that, her eyes lit up. She tried her best to suppress the excitement in her heart and said, “Mr. Su, why don’t you let your foreign bodyguard spar with me instead?”
Su Yang was speechless.
‘Does she think I’m not worthy?
‘What? It isn’t satisfying for her to fight me, is that what she’s trying to say!?’
However, Su Yang was used to Pan Zhaodi being so straightforward. If she were to learn how to cater to him one day or learn how to be tactful, Su Yang would definitely find it strange.
Su Yang got into the car and asked Pan Zhaodi to send him to a nearby shopping mall.
When they arrived at the mall, Su Yang was holding Little Deeny in his hand. Little Hus was on standby in the virtual space, they would stop after walking for a moment.
Su Yang spent most of his time in toy shops and smart appliances shops. If not for the fact that there were no robots for sale in the mall, Su Yang would definitely have gone to a shop that sells those.
Little Deeny had also relayed Su Yang’s request to Little Hus in the virtual space, it’s job was to sniff out something that could be used as a avatar. Since it was not an investment, Little Hus’s [Potential Sniffing] did not have any limit to the number of uses.
Su Yang walked past the shops one by one, but there was no response. Then, Su Yang went downstairs and returned to his car to ask Pan Zhaodi to drive him to the next mall.
‘Thankfully, I got off work early and had an early meal to welcome the new employees. Otherwise, the mall would have been closed.
Just like that, Su Yang went through the shopping malls one by one and browsed 5 to 6 large shopping malls, but he still did not find anything.
Seeing that it was getting late, Su Yang asked Pan Zhaodi to send him home. Then, he did what he did in the past and gave Janet a sum of money. Then, he asked Janet and Little Hus to take a taxi to continue their search.
Janet would stay in the virtual space every day and preferred to workout on his own rather than talking to the others. Therefore, he was obviously very happy to be able to go out for a walk as a smile appeared on his face.
As for Little Hus, that would be even more obvious, it would happily sacrifice itself to be able to go out with Janet.
Su Yang was relieved when he had Janet and Little Hus with him. After all, Janet was the kind of monster who brought back an abandoned phone booth from the suburbs for him...
Therefore, after sending Janet and Little Hus out, Su Yang fell asleep with ease.
The next morning, Su Yang woke up and gave Janet a call to ask about the situation.
Janet dragged Little Hus as he hailed a cab. After a whole night’s search... They’ve found nothing.
Based on what Little Hus had said, the requirement for the item was too detailed and the chance of encountering it was too low. Therefore, they would need to widen their search in order to find it.
Su Yang expressed his understanding and packed up before running to the office.
After resting for a few days, Tang Jing resumed to work as well. Since Su Yang’s Ferrari was lying around vacant, he decided to allow her to drive it first.
Even though Tang Jing kept refusing his offer, Su Yang still tried to persuade her by saying, “How are you going to use the public transport when you haven’t even got any spare change?”
As for taking a taxi himself? Su Yang charged Tang Jing’s rental fee based on the taxi fare.
Tang Jing was touched and accepted Su Yang’s kindness...
After arriving at the office, Su Yang continued to study the special effects of “Wolf Warriors” with the special effects team.
Time flew by and the morning passed. Su Yang received a call from Janet, but he still could not find the item...
