Chapter 385 From “Filthy Rich” to “Dirt Poor”
‘I have always thought that I would only be able to earn 300% in profits by trading stocks for a month. However, I did not expect that with the addition of recurring profits, it would increase to 17 times!
‘That means, if I had 10,000 yuan, I could earn 170,000 yuan a month! Likewise, 20,000 yuan would reap me 340,000 yuan in a month!
‘What else could be so profitable?!
‘I’m going to be rich...
‘However, I don’t think I’m the kind of person who would bite off more than I could chew. I don’t need to earn much in a month, 100% in profits would be enough. 10,000 yuan a month, just thinking of it makes me drool.
‘Anyway, I shouldn’t think about it too much, let’s get these stocks sold off first! I can’t wait for Monday to come.’ The weekend passed in a flash. Soon, Monday came...
Early in the morning, Xu Lu heated a glass of milk and sat in front of the computer in her pajamas.
She had applied for half of the day off from her boss. She would have the morning off and only went in for work in the afternoon so that she had time to invest in stocks.
Even though her boss was not very happy, she did not mind.
‘After all, I’m going to start school soon, so I probably won’t have that much time to work anyway. Even if I did, I could do some etiquette or dance related work since these kinds of short-term part-time jobs are more profitable than working at a boutique store. ‘Especially now that I’ve found a new path to riches, I don’t care about anything else anymore. ‘As long as I followed in Su Yang’s footsteps, I will be able to live a wealthy life very soon. I feel like I’m responding to the country’s motto, the rich leads others to get rich.
‘I’m the one being led...’
As she thought about this, she turned on the computer’s speakers. As she listened to the song “Eleven Kinds of Loneliness” that had been very popular for the past two days, she prepared herself to invest in stocks.
This song was 1 of the 5 most popular songs of the week.
Xu Lu was captured by the music the moment she heard it.
She loved both music and art. After all, those who studied dancing needed to have a certain level of understanding of music. Otherwise, they wouldn’t even be able to dance according to the beat.
In the end, over the weekend, she found the song as she surfed on TikTok and was enchanted by it ever since.
‘I’ve never heard such a beautiful song in my life.
‘Everytime I listen to the song, it’s as though I can see a guy gently singing away after he had just graduated.
‘Initially, I thought that the uploader was around my age. However, after listening to his other songs, I realized that the 5 songs had 5 different styles with 5 different voices.
‘If it wasn’t for the fact that all 5 songs were sung by the same person, I would have thought that the uploader consisted of a team.
‘What surprises me the most is that this uploader is an all-rounded singer. The first song sounds old and hoarse, but the next song sounds light and cheerful.
‘After listening carefully, the uploader seems to be able to sing both old and new songs. He could sing the oldies that are deep and meaningful, or modern songs that are full of worries.
‘I’m completely enchanted by his singing. She had been listening to the songs for the past two days and couldn’t stop exclaiming. ‘Just how talented is this person?’
There were many netizens who were equally amazed by Su Yang’s ability to change styles so freely.
After all, Su Yang’s cover song was not about himself but about the essence of that song.
‘This is terrifying...’
Many singers in the entertainment industry had started to listen to Su Yang’s songs, they had also started to study Su Yang’s singing skills.
Although the amount of popularity gained was not as big as the first day, it was growing exponentially...
Of course, Xu Lu did not know about this. After all, the entertainment industry was something that was too far away for her. The only thing she was interested in now was listening to songs... and selling stocks. ‘I hope that these songs that I like will bring me good luck!
At 9:20am, Zhang Bang Science and Technology began to auction.
The gathered auction price was not bad. Zhang Bang Science and Technology had gone from -2% to+4%. Xu Lu drank her milk happily, thinking how she had bought the right one. The stock market officially opened at 9:30am. Zhang Bang Science and Technology was hovering by 4% with its constant rise and fall. The constant fluctuations made Xu Lu’s heart jump. She stared at the plate and hesitated. ‘Should I sell it? Should I sell it? I’ve already earned 17%, is it time for me to sell it?’
She moved her mouse to the “Sell” button but pulled away again. ‘Should I wait a little longer? Maybe it could still have a small burst of increase again?’
As though she had the Hand of Midas, Zhang Bang Science and Technology had actually risen rapidly from +4% ,+6% and all the way to +8%.
At that moment, at Shanghai in a financial company at Lu Jiazui.
Mr. Niu was personally checking the information shown in front of the computer. He said to the trader beside him, “Who’s taking over this stock?” The trader said, “It doesn’t seem like they are planning to take over. I checked and found that it’s a business center at Mu Jiang. Judging from the scale, it should be a floating capital.” Mr. Niu was stunned for a moment. “Floating capital? They’re trying to nab a piece of the pie right under our noses.”
He asked, “How much do they have?”
The trader said, “There’s a total of 500 million yuan at the moment, they should have a lot more in their hands. They’re probably trying to raise the stock price together with us and then sell it.”
Mr. Niu laughed. “Raise the stock price together before selling it? Well, I don’t intend to play with them.”
With that being said, Mr. Niu stood up and said to the traders in the office, “Listen here everyone. Now that Zhang Bang Science and Technology’s price is being pulled up, we won’t continue raising the price anymore. Instead, We will directly sell off everything we have. Everyone, start dumping all the stocks you have now, don’t be afraid of the stock price falling while you’re at it. Once the deal is done, we won’t have that many stocks left.”
The traders replied in cohesion, “Yes, Mr. Niu.”, “Understood, Mr. Niu.”
Therefore, after the banker decided on the direction he would take, a large number of stocks were put up for sale, going from+8% to -2%. All the bills were sold rapidly, and the stock prices were fluctuating at a terrifying rate.
On the other hand, the buyer that was trying to raise the stock price was completely smashed as they received Mr. Niu’s stocks directly to their faces.
When the deed was done, Mr. Niu only had approximately 20,000 units left in his hands.
They were not bothered by the stock price since they had already earned enough. Therefore, they continued to dump the stocks, making it go all the way down to rock bottom.
The other shareholders of Zhang Bang Science and Technology were shocked. ‘18% in 10 minutes, what a disaster!
‘2% more and it would be hitting rock bottom!’ (From the upper limit to the lower limit would equal to 20%)
Xu Lu was also stunned.
She had not expected for that to happen.
She looked at the falling stock and was confused. ‘How could there be such a huge drop in the stock?’
She hurriedly tried to sell it, but realized that she was not fast enough to be able to sell it.
She had just put up her stock for sale at 21.3, but the price had already reached 21.1. When she placed it at 21.1 again, the price instantly dropped down to 19.8. Just like that, she was not able to sell off her stock until it reached rock bottom.
She looked at the net profit on her account for that day.’-1180 yuan’
‘I feel like crying, I’ve lost all the money I earned last Friday’.
‘I have originally earned close to 1,200 yuan, now I only have about 10 yuan left.’
She tried to sell all the stocks she had at its lowest price, but failed to do so even as it was about to end. There are hundreds of thousands of stocks waiting to be sold, it’s still miles away before it’s my turn.’.
After the lunch break, Xu Lu was in a complete daze because she knew that things had gotten out of hand. ‘I think I’m going to have to pay more money when all this is over...
‘Who should I ask for help? Who could I ask for help?
‘My cousin? She would probably say I told you so.
‘Su Yang? Su Yang had asked me to buy on Thursday and sell it off on Friday. I thought I could do better and ignored his advice, now look where I’m at. I haven’t got the courage to face him.’
She looked at Zhang Bang Science and Technology and felt like crying. After being sad for half of the day, Xu Lu gradually calmed down. ‘There might be a chance for things to improve, maybe things might be better in the afternoon...
‘Even if it continues to drop this afternoon, it might rebound tomorrow. As long as it rebounds, I’ll sell it!’
With this expectation, she packed up and went to work at the boutique.
While working, Xu Lu was a little distracted. She kept glancing at the stock on the software in her phone.
However... it was useless. The price remained at rock bottom. Aside from the number of people trying to sell off their stocks, nothing else changed.
At 3pm when the stock market closed. Xu Lu did not see any traces of there being a chance of succeeding
She could not help but feel her strength being sucked away...
Her lips were dry and her palms were sweaty...
She didn’t even know how she got through the
day...
The next day, Xu Lu sat in front of her computer, waiting for the market to open.
‘Whether I make profit or loss depends on today. I have already made up my mind, as long as I don’t have to lose money, I will sell it off without hesitation.’
However, Zhang Bang Science and Technology didn’t give her any hope. The company’s stock had immediately hit rock bottom from the auction phase and did not even open up in the market on that day.
Xu Lu was completely dumbfounded. ‘From +1,200 yuan down to -1,000 yuan, I’ve got to pay 2,200 yuan. According to Zhang Bang Science and Technology’s highest price yesterday which was +8%, that means that I’ve lost more than 3,000 yuan.
‘I just want to go kill myself, I’ve gone from filthy rich to dirt poor.’
Xu Lu’s life was not going well at that point, neither was Su Yang’s. As time passed, there was more negative news online about the “Fighting The Buddha”.
In the beginning, Li Zijun could use all sorts of connections, money, and legal letters to mitigate the situation.
However, as time went on, the box office of “Fighting The Buddha” did not rise. So her various countermeasures started to become weaker and weaker. At the end of the day, one’s capability still decided how successful something would be. If the box office of “Fighting The Buddha” was not ideal, it could not stop others from scolding and trampling on it.
By Tuesday, the cumulative box office of
Fighting The Buddha’ had reached 1.5 million. The momentum was very low with it’s daily box office being between 200,000 to 300,000 yuan. It did not match its status as an S-class online project. The only good news was that “Xu Qingling’s Holy Spirit”, which was released at the same time was no longer trending.
Just as Little Deeny had analyzed, after its fan club had watched the movie, the movie’s momentum would start to wane.
Three days ago, the box office of “Xu Qingling” was close to 6 million yuan. On the fourth day, there was only 1.35 million yuan left and 1.16 million on the fifth day. On the sixth and seventh day, it was 920,000 yuan and 740,000 yuan respectively. The drop was simply terrifying
Originally, it had the potential to compete for the annual box office champion, but in one week, it was completely eliminated...
Even so, within a week, the movie had already reached the threshold of 10 million yuan. It was considered to be a popular online movie.
Compared to that, ‘Fighting The Buddha’ was much more miserable. It was only 1.9 million in box office, and it could not compete with its competitor’s 1 day ticket sales.
Perhaps it was because of this, “Xu Qingling” began a disgusting comparison in order to continue promoting their movie, stating how “Fighting The Buddha” had 1.9 million yuan a week when they had earned 2.25 million yuan in a day. They were both S-rank projects, but the difference in their box offices was like night and day, Thus proving that “Xu Qingling” was a much better movie.
On the internet, there were also many people discussing this matter. They felt that “Fighting The Buddha” was far inferior to the “Xu Qingling”. Although the “Xu Qingling” had an average momentum at that moment, it was because its popularity had passed but the quality was still there.
Under this kind of publicity, “Fighting The Buddha” was seen to be declining by the industry, while “Xu Qingling” was slightly rebounding Undoubtedly, the attempt by “Xu Qingling” to promote their movie had some effect.
[On Wednesday morning, when Su Yang woke up from his sleep, he heard a voice in his mind “There is only one day left before the special item (Lucky Disfiguring Brick] can be used again.”
Su Yang looked at the ceiling. ‘Finally, there’s only one day left.’
‘Tomorrow, I can use the (Lucky Disfiguring Brick) and today’s the day to promote “Fighting The Buddha”!
‘It all rides on today and tomorrow whether I’ll be able to rake in all the profits I can get!’
