Chapter 326 Second Golden Mission Completed!
He quietly left the office. Then, he asked to borrow a blank piece of paper and a pencil from one of the employees before going back to the office door and pushed open a small part of the door. There, be began drawing Chu Xia.
The sound of his pencil sketching on the paper didn’t disturb her as she was immersed in her own world with the aura of the (Squid Who Doesn’t Like Diving).
Su Yang, on the other hand, was completely immersed in a peculiar kind of creative inspiration as he felt that Chu Xia looked like the perfect model as she wrote her story. Her movements were rather static so it allowed Su Yang to draw her easily. Su Yang began sketching by first imagining the scene in his mind. Then, he modeled his model on the piece of white paper as he fleshed out the proportion of Chu Xia’s body and features with horizontal and vertical lines.
Then, he outlined her features and her movements little by little.
As he outlined his sketch, Su Yang’s gaze fell on her chest which bulged slightly and he realized in hindsight that this girl had grown up quite a little.
Su Yang borrowing a pencil and paper attracted the attention of the company’s employees. They later realized that all he did was stand at the entrance of a half-open door of the general manager’s office while holding a pad under the paper as the pencil in his hand danced on the paper. They didn’t know what to do but at the same time, they were rather curious.
Su Yang had a rather mild image in the company since he generally didn’t make the employee feel much pressure. So, they took the opportunity to go to the bathroom and sneaked around to the office door to see what Su Yang was up to.
When they returned, word had spread that Su Yang was making a sketch of Chu Xia.
Faced with the fact that their boss was drawing, most of their opinions were still in disarray as some made a few comments.
“Our boss doesn’t look like much. I heard he started from scratch, but isn’t it awesome that he knows how to sketch?”
“Sketching requires a lot of drawing skills. He isn’t just drawing randomly, right?”
“I don’t think so, Xiao Qin said the boss has a good drawing style. He types rather fast as well.”
“Wow, he’s sketching that girl? It’s just too romantic, isn’t it?”
Some began gossiping, “Who’s that girl? Is she our boss’s girlfriend?”
“Looks like it.”
“But it looks like she’s just a high school student! Our boss is too much of a beast!”
“Doesn’t our boss look young as well?”
“Men don’t show their age. I wonder if he’s over thirty.”
“That’s right! After all, I heard he has several companies under his belt.”
With that, the topic successfully changed from Su Yang’s painting to a discussion about Su Yang’s relationship with Chu Xia. Then, it began moving toward something else... Was Su Yang an old demon...?
At that moment, Manager Zhang just happened to come out of the office with a glass of water.
As Wang Dong’s former boss and someone who helped Su Yang and Wang Dong a lot when they were starting out, he had now been promoted to director.
When he came out and heard the colleagues gossiping about Su Yang in a whisper, Manager Zhang slowly shook his head, feeling that his colleagues were chatting about useless things all day long. Su Yang’s age was clear to him. After all, he had worked with the company before. Su Yang was just nineteen and had just had his nineteenth birthday.
Thinking about Su Yang’s age and current achievements, Manager Zhang shook his head. Compared to his young boss, he was an old
dog.
‘Sigh...’
Manager Zhang shook his head again and drank a cup of water infused with Chinese wolfberry in it, a bit despondent.
He paced slowly to the water dispenser and after getting some hot water, he walked back. However, he suddenly made a detour. The original straight path he was taking turned into a perfect arc as he made a detour halfway through the company, heading to the general manager’s office. Then, he glanced at the painting in Su Yang’s hand as he drank his water.
After all, he was also curious.
At first glance, Manager Zhang was a bit surprised and couldn’t help but widen his mouth. ‘It’s really beautiful.’
Su Yang had already finished drawing the outline and facial features of Chu Xia. He was now filling in the details of her eyes. The beautiful eyes of Chu Xia simply came alive under his skilful hands.
His agility brought about a kind of joy that further accentuated the unique youth of the young girl in his painting, allowing his audience to feel as if they were involved in the process.
There was a kind of freshness and femininity that leaped off the paper as he continued drawing.
Although he didn’t know how to draw, Manager Zhang could clearly tell. ‘His drawing is definitely much better looking than those street artists who drew sketches for people on the side of the road!’
Pretending to walk carelessly past Su Yang, Manager Zhang walked slowly back to his office with his big belly and a glass of water as he became increasingly more impressed by his boss.
‘That drawing is really beautiful...
‘Seems like my eyes are failing me after all... Why didn’t I notice his talent before?’
When Manager Zhang returned to his office, it didn’t take long for Su Yang to finish the first drawing of his life. When he looked at it, he had to admit that it looked very beautiful despite having many years of experience when it came to appreciating art. Perhaps, it was because the scene of Chu Xia writing a story touched Su Yang so he was able to paint impressively. He not only revealed the beauty of Chu Xia but her feminine aura as well.
Anyone’s expression would light up at the moment their gazes landed on the drawing.
However, when Su Yang raised his head from his drawing and took another look at her, he found that he hadn’t even captured a tenth of her beauty in his drawing. It was a rather off-putting feeling. ‘My drawing is so beautiful that it could even move one’s heart. However, Chu Xia was even more beautiful.
‘She’s just a free spirit created by nature!’
After quietly admiring Chu Xia for a moment, Su Yang ceased disturbing her. He picked up the pencil again, signed his name on the drawing and asked one of the employees to stick it to the iron edge of the office door with a magnet.
After sticking the sketch there, Su Yang gently closed the office door and left.
It was time to go home.
After Su Yang left, people from the company came running up to see what Su Yang had drawn.
They were all stunned when they saw his drawing
They were all stunned. “Wow. Is this our boss’s drawing? Isn’t it beautiful?”
“Yeah. It’s beautiful.”
“It’s really beautiful.”
The exclamation from those in the front row obviously made those in the back even more curious. One by one, they rushed to the front.
“Move over, I want to look too. I’ll take a look as well.”
“Is it that pretty?”
“Hurry up, let me see it!”
After the people who squeezed in saw the drawing, they couldn’t help but exclaim, “Our boss is too cool!”
“Shouldn’t I say that the girl in the painting is pretty?”
“It’s really beautiful! I want a picture!”
The man took out his cell phone and took a picture. With someone taking the lead, others began taking photos with their cellphones as well.
Su Yang’s company had sixty to seventy people, and that was a conservative estimate. With so many people, they made much more noise than Su Yang and soon, Chu Xia was alarmed by the sounds coming from the door.
She stood up in confusion, opened the door, and was surprised to find people from the company crowding around the door of the office.
The people there looked sneaky and had cellphones in their hands as well, making it look like they were up to no good...
Chu Xia carefully took a step back and asked sweetly, “So... What are you guys up to~?”
As soon as she said that, the company’s employees went quiet for a moment as they scattered the very next moment. One after the other, they slipped away while laughing and running. The last one was the receptionist from the front desk who pointed to the office door with a smile before she ran away as well.
Chu Xia turned her head in confusion and looked at the office door. Then, she saw the picture on the door.
She was surprised when she removed the magnet and took the drawing into her hand. It was so lifelike and beautiful that she looked like a fairy.
Su Yang’s drawings weren’t actually that good to begin with, but when the system gave him the (Painting Ability), he gained more than just the ability to paint and sketch. He was able to also borrow from the styles of Chinese paintings, oil paintings, and other styles of art. His skills put emphasis on the idea, not the shape.
This allowed him to sketch Chu Xia’s face rather realistically. However, when it came to the environment around her and her movements, he went for a more fluid style. The combination of both styles made Chu Xia look as beautiful as a fairy.
When she took a look at the painting, it was as if she was hit by something as her heart began thumping. Tears began to crowd on the edge of her eyelids, glistening as she felt like she had been hit. Gently, but swiftly, she was hit.
Her eyes shifted down to the bottom of the painting where she saw an inscription of a name with a flowery Chinese character-Su Yang
A shade of pink appeared on her face before she began blushing a crimson red, all the way to her ears. She wiped her hands on the corner of her shirt for fear that the painting would get dirty.
Then, she cautiously took a look at the people in the office lobby. Although everyone was working with their heads down, she felt like everyone was smiling at her, which made her feel even more shy.
She went back to her office and closed the door.
After she closed the door, she looked at the milk tea that Su Yang ordered on her desk and looked down at the beautiful portrait of herself. She bit her pink lips, a little distracted.
The company’s founder, Su Yang, was completely unaware of what was going on in the company as he strolled along the road, facing the hot summer sun of a July afternoon in Shanghai as he felt like he was drying out.
However, he was saved by the system which comforted him a little on this hot summer’s day.
