Chapter 305 The Little Demon Cat’s Psychic Abilities
Su Yang considered the matter of heading over in disguise quite a lot.
In the past, the school would get the student leaders to do an inspection from time to time when he was in junior high and high school. The impact it had on the students and the school deeply impressed him.
Their problems stemmed from troublesome students and deceitful leaders. There was no point in doing such things.
He wanted to see his film being shot but didn’t want to delay the matter. He wanted them to be themselves, so he decided to go in a disguise.
Since his identity had yet to be exposed, he’d definitely be suspected of unsavoury things if he met Lin Jiali after contacting Producer Zhao and going there with great fanfare.
Instead, it would be much more convenient if he visited the site as Lin Jiali’s friend.
With a reluctant expression, Su Yang left the neighbourhood and took a taxi to where the movie was being shot.
When he was taking the taxi, he just happened to meet Qu Xiaomeng returning from a run. She wore her usual loose sportswear and could be seen panting from a distance.
Perhaps, it was because of her congenital condition that her top seemed like it was bouncing up and down like there were two warm bags of water hidden inside.
When she saw Su Yang, her baby-like face blossomed into a smile. “Fellow student! Su Yang! What a coincidence.”
Seeing Su Yang stroking the kitten he was holding. Goldy meowed rather unhappily as he replied, “Yes, it’s a good coincidence. Did you just return from your morning run Miss Qu?”
That said, she seemed like she was about to die despite sweating so much. He felt like the physical fitness of his female teacher wasn’t very good. In fact, it was far worse than her brother.”
Qu Xuan might look like a lazy bum but he had a fantastic physique.
“Yeah, I just got back from morning practice.” After Qu Xiaomeng replied, she stopped talking because she suddenly noticed Goldy.
She curiously leaned toward Goldy as her voice softened and her eyes glittered. “Is this a kitten?”
Su Yang laughed. “No, it’s a dog.” Qu Xiaomeng was speechless.
‘This stupid teacher is scratching her head while looking confused. This... is obviously a cat.’
Su Yang chuckled. ‘Yeah, she knows it’s a cat, and she still asks...’
Goldy’s round eyes looked at Qu Xiaomeng before silently snuggling its head into Su Yang’s bosom. Although it also didn’t like Su Yang this guy much, it hated this two-legged, giant assed, ancient large bosomed creature, even more.
Qu Xiaomeng mulled it over for quite some time and decided to give up on researching whether this was a cat or a dog. She pointed at Goldy and said goofily, “It’s nice to look at.” Su Yang stroked Goldy’s fur. “Yes, it’s nice to look at. It’s even better looking when it grows up. It’s mighty and powerful, and covered in golden fur.”
Qu Xiaomeng was puzzled.
She was in a daze and wondered if she’d misheard. ‘A black cat growing up and turning blond?’
Not knowing which of Su Yang’s words spurred Goldy on, the little guy numbly got out of Su Yang’s arms, then took a mighty pose precisely like the leopard’s last night and howled on his back. “Meow~!”
The sound of that gentle voice was enough to make people laugh to death.
Su Yang squeezed its head into its arm, but it began struggling in his arm while screaming, “Raaaaah!” However, it was powerless against Su Yang’s strength.
At that moment, a taxi was hailed by the roadside. Su Yang called it down and said to Qu Xiaomeng, “Teacher Qu, I’ve got something to do, so I’m going to take my leave.”
“Uh... Oh, okay!” Qu Xiaomeng nodded.
After saying that, she was a little embarrassed as he added, “In that case, can I go check on your cat sometimes? Will it trouble you?”
Su Yang got into the taxi and smiled at her. “It’ll be troublesome, so forget it.”
After saying that, he closed the door of the car.
The taxi drove away, leaving a confused Qu Xiaomeng standing in place. She was stuck in place, confused at the reply. ‘Did I just get rejected?’
She looked like a question mark was plastered on her face.
After talking to the driver about the address of the movie shoot, the driver agreed to drive him to his destination.
At this time, a girls voice rang out in Su Yang’s heart. It sounded like a young girl that was as beautiful as an oriole and yet, sounded like a loli with condescending arrogance. “Why did you reject that female creature? Isn’t it like you males to capture as many females as possible?” Su Yang looked at Goldy in his arms. His mouth remained unmoving but he replied in his heart. “First of all, humans are divided into men and women, not males and females. Secondly, the one you’re talking about is an ordinary creature. We humans are no longer limited to our biological instincts to reproduce. Instead, we have a higher emotion-love.”
“Don’t just do as you please. You aren’t just responsible for yourself but others too.”
Goldy looked up at Su Yang, feeling scuffed. “Still not feeling anything for that female creature. What’s with the condescending talk...”
Su Yang was speechless.
“This little guy! What a pain!
“That’s right, Goldy has a telepathic ability to speak to people through their minds.
In the beginning, Su Yang merely saw her as a mid-level intelligent entity. He thought she could only meow or show a disgusted face. He didn’t expect that she’d speak to him through his mind as he held her to sleep.
Based on how she was speaking, it seemed like her mind had a kind of frequency to it. She had been looking for Su Yang’s ‘frequency’ since the beginning. That was why she was meowing so much.
Su Yang felt like if such a mentally retarded cat was considered as a mid-level intelligent entity, his little monsters were wrongly categorized.
According to Goldy, she was able to connect with the minds of any creature and make contact without interruption. However, each creature was different so she required a long time to determine the frequency.
This time ranged from 1 second to 24 hours.
She needed quite some time for most creatures. Most of the time, it ranged from four to five hours. She even needed five to six hours to find Su Yang’s frequency.
Her mind dialogue ability wasn’t as amazing as Su Yang thought it would be after all.
It wasn’t like letting others take a lie detector test or listening to what they were really thinking through mind reading. It wasn’t any of those.
The only use for this broken ability is the ability to speak without opening your mouth. It was also a requirement that Goldy was uninterrupted. Once she was disturbed or agitated, she could only meow.
However, it didn’t matter. Su Yang decided to make her the second mascot in their little family. She was now the same as Gru. As long as she was cute, her abilities didn’t matter.
For example, Gru was now the little monster who lived the most comfortable in the house.
There was once when it went out to the yard, dug a hole in the soil and planted itself in the soil. After some time, it grew two leaves and ran over to Su Yang with a smile on its face. However, Su Yang plucked the leaves and smiled, making it cry as it ignored Su Yang for a few days.
A few days later, it would hug Su Yang’s leg once more and play with him.
“This little guy is always a delight to play with.’
Su Yang had no other requirements for Goldy as long as it was able to be as cute as Gru and open the circus for him once a month.
After returning to his senses from thinking about Goldy, Su Yang looked at the driver.
The driver was a seemingly amiable uncle who drove steadily and safely all the way. He didn’t run any red lights and yielded to pedestrians. He was a model driver. Su Yang couldn’t help but remember that he took a mock test with his phone last night to practice for his first subject for his driver’s license. He saw a question about driving at an intersection—that he had to move within five seconds before the green light changed. ‘Which do I pick?’
sec
Su Yang took a look at the options. The first one was, (Lightly step on the accelerator and attempt to drive across before the green light is over.)
After all, there were still five seconds before the light turned red. If he eventually encountered a red light and drove across anyway, it would be against traffic regulations.
He confidently looked at the answer, and it was... Wrong The correct answer was, (Brake and wait for the next green light).
Su Yang’s heart was cut by a thousand blades of grass. That’s not even close to reality! I’m not breaking any traffic laws anyway, and I’ve got five seconds! Why not just drive over?!
‘What kind of person waits a few seconds like that in real life!’
It was today when he met such a person. After driving all the way to the location of the shoot, Su Yang paid the driver. The uncle was very nice. Perhaps, he also knew that he drove too steadily and took a little too long. So he took the initiative to wipe a zero off the final bill for Su Yang and praised the beautiful Goldy who was in Su Yang’s arms. Su Yang was very friendly to this amiable uncle. He smiled and thanked him on behalf of Goldy, paid his fare, and got out of the car.
The movie was shot in a film and television base in Shanghai. Today’s shoot was for special effects so they rented a professional location.
Su Yang remembered looking at the shooting plan before. This was the only time where it was done in a studio. The rest of the shoots would be conducted elsewhere.
It was because most of these web series stories related to the Monkey King were actually urban dramas.
The Shanghai film and television base was huge and there were various studios. If Su Yang searched for one on his own, it would probably take a long time so he sent a WeChat to Lin Jiali, telling her that he had arrived. Then, he asked her to send an assistant to pick him up.
Not long after the WeChat was sent, a woman who looked to be in her 20s appeared in front of Su Yang. With a wary face, she walked up to Su Yang, sized him up and asked, “Are you Su Yang?”
Su Yang nodded his head. “Yes, it’s me.”
The woman’s eyes rested on Su Yang’s bosom for a moment, her eyes showed a hint of realization as she coldly nodded. “Come with
me.”
Su Yang didn’t care about her attitude. After all, he had nothing to do with her, and couldn’t ask for more during their first meeting. After all, he didn’t look like he came from money. Thinking of this, Su Yang suddenly felt something wrong. Su Yang thought. ‘Hey, aren’t I related to her? She’s Lin Jiali’s assistant so she’s probably working in my own company. How can her attitude be alright?’
As he thought, he felt that everyone from the crew, to the producer and the assistant, were all his employees. ‘Tsk, tsk, tsk. Somehow, it feels like today will be interesting.
‘Still, I hope it won’t be too much of a bloodbath. If anything happens, it’ll really ruin my good mood.’
After all, he didn’t come here to mind his own business but to check on their progress.
With that in mind, Su Yang followed Lin Jiali’s assistant, went in circles and finally, arrived at a small studio in their set. Then, he walked in.
As soon as he entered, Su Yang heard a somewhat familiar voice yelling, “I’ve been filming for so many years! How is it possible that I don’t know how to shoot?”
Following the voice, Su Yang saw a very familiar star—Chen Min.
Chen Min belonged to the 80s and 90s. She was a familiar celebrity to people from that era. After all, television during that era belonged to Hong Kong dramas. He had already starred in Journey to the West’, ‘Feudalism’, ‘The Eight of Dragons’, along with other dramas on TV that ended up becoming classic dramas. All these made him rather well known.
Although the entertainment industry has grown in the mainland in recent years, Hong Kong stars have seen a decline. However, if one spoke about the actor who played Duan Yu or Ne Zha, those born in the 80s or the 20th century would say, “Oh! It’s him!”
Su Yang’s company was a film company that sold its film based on sentiment. He hired Chen Min as the lead for that exact reason.
However, he just didn’t expect to see these things happen just as he arrived on set.
His eyebrows furrowed as he remembered how the lead actor played it big when he and Lin Jiali were on the phone the day before yesterday/
‘Is Chen Min using his trump card?’
Before he could think about it, Lin Jiali’s assistant acted as if she hadn’t seen the scene and led Su Yang to a corner of the studio. Lin Jiali was sitting on a small pony, chatting with a few girls who were also sitting on a pony.
Although she had chatted with Lin Jiali many times and felt that the two of them were very familiar, this was only the third time Su Yang had met her.
She wasn’t very tall. According to Su Yang’s visual estimation, she should be around 167 centimeters high on five-centimeter heels. However, her body was well proportioned and her legs were long, making her appear tall. She was wearing a beautiful short red dress. Red was a difficult color to manage but on her body, it completely showed off that vibrant radiance of hers.
Unlike ordinary dresses, this one had an extra corset at the waist that accentuated Lin Jiali’s figure, allowing her ample space to show off her waist and voluptuousness.
Her arms exposed by the red dress showed how flawless her skin was. It was fair and delicate, making it seem like she was sculpted from jade.
There were five or six little girls beside her that looked very young as they exuded youthful vitality all over their bodies. They looked quite alright. If they were brought outside, they’d be beauties that could brighten one’s day. However, they seemed like a passerby next to Lin Jiali.
Su Yang couldn’t help but remember the evaluation of the small package from Li Zijun. Lin Jiali was just too beautiful but she had an eye-catching temperament. With that, she could steal the scene despite having only a supporting role. The lead role wasn’t meant for her since she couldn’t keep up with the required acting skills. If she took it up, she’d only be half as popular.
Regardless, she was still the most beautiful woman Su Yang had ever seen.
Just as Su Yang was thinking blindly, Lin Jiali spotted him and brightened up. Then, she stood up and waved at him. “Su Yang, you’re here!”
Before Su Yang could respond, Lin Jiali’s eyes lit up as they focused on Goldy who was tucked between Su Yang’s arms. “Wow! What a cute little kitty!”
Saying that, she ran over and leaped in an attempt to reach out to touch Goldy. However, her good upbringing made her look up and ask Su Yang, “Can I... Can I touch your... cat?”
Su Yang smiled. “No, you can’t.”
Lin Jiali was speechless.
She looked slightly longingly at the present in Su Yang’s arms. Then, her eyebrows wrinkled up nicely and asked, a little petulantly, “Why?”
Su Yang didn’t eat her words, but replied in a long-winded manner, “Because my cat is afraid of other people and doesn’t dare to come into contact with strangers.”
Lin Jiali nodded. “Because it’s smaller, I guess.”
She opened her hands wide and crossed her fingers to see how long Goldy was. “Such a small cat! It feels like it was just born a month ago.”
Su Yang nodded. “Right. That’s why she’s scared of everyone she sees except for me.”
As he was saying that, Goldy’s meowed in Su Yang’s arms. Then, it struggled out of Su Yang’s arms and opened both paws toward Lin Jiali, looking like she wanted to make contact with her.
Su Yang smiled and pushed her head backward before saying to Lin Jiali, “Look, she’s still against touching you.”
Lin Jiali was speechless.
‘If I’m not mistaken, that should mean it likes me, right?’
Goldy whimpered in Su Yang’s arms as it struggled to escape his grasp. Lin Jiali looked a bit anxious as she looked at Goldy’s suffering. “Can you not do this to it? It seems like it’s very uncomfortable.” Su Yang smiled at Lin Jiali. “It’s fine, it’s fine. We’re both used to it.”
As he lowered his head, he viciously spoke to Goldy in his heart, ‘What are you doing?’
Goldy’s young but proud voice sounded in Su Yang’s mind. ‘I want to play with this young lady!’
Su Yang was speechless.
‘I thought you hated these two-legged, giant assed, ancient large bosomed creatures!?’
‘I like this one! Meow!’
Su Yang relented to the little sh*t.
‘Forget it, you can have the final say since you’re cute.’
Su Yang didn’t bother to continue fighting with Goldy. He put both hands out and handed Goldy to Lin Jiali.
Lin Jiali took it in surprise. Then, she held it in front of her as her eyes sparkled. “Wow, it’s so cute.”
“Meow~” Goldy’s gentle voice called out to her.
Su Yang was a little salty. This guy never calls out to me like this...’
Holding Goldy in her arms, Lin Jiali brought Su Yang back to the corner of the studio and introduced Su Yang to the six ladies. Unsurprisingly, they really were interns in SU Yang’s company that looked both youthful and beautiful.
Those girls might have just debuted and didn’t see themselves as celebrities. They might have regarded Su Yang as Lin Jiali’s good friend, so they were very polite to him, bowing politely to greet him in succession. When they saw that Lin Jiali wanted to chat with him, they even wanted to stand up and leave.
Still, Lin Jiali stopped them. “It’s fine, it’s not an outsider. We haven’t finished chatting yet.”
Lin Jiali was big-hearted and didn’t treat Su Yang as an outsider so she pulled a few girls to continue chatting.
As she stroked Goldy’s hair, she grinned as she said carelessly, “You said Chen Min always acts like this, how can we continue shooting then? The shooting progress has been delayed.”
Hearing this topic being discussed, Su Yang suddenly became serious. After all, if the shoot was delayed, it would cost him more money!
