"How is this possible!"
Even though he had seen the radar image, Deline was still unwilling to believe it.
As if in response to Deline’s doubt, the submarine suddenly fired a torpedo, which shot at extreme speed toward the aircraft carrier he was on.
BOOM!
The massive explosion threw Deline off balance again. He finally came to his senses and roared, "Launch all our torpedoes! Sink it!"
"Yes, sir!"
Because their high-tech equipment was damaged, the torpedoes could only be launched manually.
The Lvzhi Country’s soldiers aimed the torpedoes in the submarine’s general direction and fired.
Seeing the enemy launch torpedoes, the submarine’s captain gave a grim command, "Full speed, dive!"
The submarine immediately plunged toward the seabed, easily dodging the torpedoes fired by the Lvzhi Fleet.
"Captain, the submarine dived! We didn’t hit it!"
"Then keep firing!" Deline roared.
"But it’s already dived to 1,500 meters! That’s beyond the maximum depth of our torpedoes!"
"What?" Deline’s eyes widened.
They had previously detected it at 1,000 meters, which was already the maximum dive depth for any submarine on Blue Star. Now, this submarine had actually descended to 1,500 meters!
It far exceeded the dive depth of even the most advanced submarines on Blue Star!
"Has Dragon Base’s technology already reached this level?" Deline muttered. "Will our Lvzhi Country never be able to surpass the Dragon Country?"
The men around him fell silent, unwilling to face this reality.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ships catching up from behind also opened fire!
In an instant, the Lvzhi Fleet was thrown into disarray, and many of its ships directly raised white flags.
"Captain, you have to escape! We can’t win this battle!" a staff officer advised Deline.
Deline let out a long sigh and shook his head slightly. "Escape? Do you think we can?"
The staff officer froze.
Considering the speed of the Dragon Base’s ships and the Dragon Country People’s hatred for the people of Lvzhi, they truly had no chance of escape this time.
"Then what do we do now?" the staff officer asked cautiously.
"Pass down the order. When the Dragon Base ships get close, detonate all explosives on board. Prepare to die with honor!" Deline took out a strip of cloth and tied it around his head.
The staff officer flinched for a moment, then nodded. "Yes, sir!"
As the order was given, all the ships of the Lvzhi Country ceased their attacks and came to a stop.
They knew they couldn’t hit or catch the Dragon Base ships anyway. It was better to wait for them to get closer, for the battle to become close-quarters. Only then would their suicide attacks be effective!
"Captain, the Lvzhi Fleet has stopped!"
Long Zhan snorted coldly. "Even if they’ve stopped, keep firing. Cripple them first, we’ll sort it out later!"
Long Zhan could accept the surrender of other fleets that raised the white flag, but not the Lvzhi Fleet!
Long Zhan knew that the Lvzhi soldiers were fanatics. Even in defeat, they would bite off a piece of their enemy’s flesh like mad dogs, or drag their foes down with them to mutual destruction.
To prevent his own men from getting hurt, Long Zhan decided it was best to cripple the enemy first!
Although the Lvzhi Fleet had stopped and was no longer attacking, the Dragon Base ships continued to unleash a relentless barrage of shells.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ships of the Lvzhi Fleet were hit repeatedly, and soon, thick smoke was billowing from every vessel.
This was the first time the Lvzhi Fleet had been defeated at sea in such a crushing fashion.
Deline saw that the Dragon Base forces had no intention of approaching, content to just keep shelling them with their naval guns. He knew that his plan to take some of the enemy down with him was now impossible.
"Detonate all explosives now!" Deline gave the order with a sense of resignation.
"But they haven’t gotten close yet!"
"They’re not going to," Deline said, shaking his head. "We can only scuttle our ships. We can’t let them capture our vessels so easily!"
"Yes, sir!" the staff officer at his side replied.
Following Deline’s command, massive explosions erupted on every ship in the Lvzhi Fleet.
"Just like the old days," Long Zhan muttered, pursing his lips. "Everyone, maintain distance. A few more volleys to send them on their way!"
"Yes, sir!" everyone shouted in unison.
Even though all the ships of the Lvzhi Fleet were now crippled, the Dragon Base’s assault did not stop.
The other forces within the United Fleet saw this and were all thankful they had surrendered early.
’Thank god we surrendered. Otherwise, with such a dense barrage, hardly anyone would have survived!’
’Yeah, Dragon Base is ruthless. Didn’t the Lvzhi Fleet already stop attacking?’
’You know how much the Dragon Country People despise Lvzhi! I suspect that even if the Green Country had raised a white flag from the very beginning, their fate would’ve been the same!’
’From now on, never mess with the Dragon Country People, no matter who else you provoke!’
’You think we’ll ever get the chance to provoke them again?’
’I heard Dragon Base treats its prisoners well. As long as we behave, we might even be set free!’
’It doesn’t really matter anymore. As long as they feed us, being a prisoner isn’t so bad. Our fleet’s food supplies were almost gone anyway. We only followed the Sea Eagle Country Fleet here to try and plunder some food from Dragon Base.’
’Same here. We just never expected Dragon Base to be this powerful!’
Amid their chatter, the Lvzhi Fleet was completely wiped out, its ships slowly sinking to the bottom of the sea.
By this time, the regular ships from Dragon Base had arrived. They began processing the prisoners while making every effort to salvage the ships of the Lvzhi Fleet.
Even if there weren’t many supplies left on board, the ships themselves were a valuable resource that couldn’t be wasted.
As for the few surviving Lvzhi people in the water, the soldiers in charge of the salvage operation simply pushed them back under.
