As Qin Haonan slowly accelerated, the runners of the bitter grass gradually pulled taut, and the speedboat soon began to struggle.
"Boss, just how many supplies are tangled up in this? I feel like the speedboat can barely move!" Qin Haonan said in surprise.
"A lot!" Ren Yuanyang replied, then immediately sent a message to Xin Wan. "Bring everyone over to sort the supplies, and I mean *everyone*—even the ones producing diesel! Meet at the east exit!"
Xin Wan was leading a team to clear the aerial roots of a banyan tree. When she received Ren Yuanyang’s message, she paused for a moment, then acknowledged it. She turned to the others and said, "Everyone, stop what you’re doing! We have an urgent task. To the boat!"
Xin Wan gathered Si Youqin and the others and rushed toward the east exit.
Si Youqin looked puzzled. "Sister Wan, where are we going?"
’Producing diesel is the most important thing right now,’ she thought. ’Energy is absolutely the most valuable resource.’
"The Head told us to sort the supplies we’ve recovered. There must be a lot of them!" Xin Wan replied. "An opportunity like this is incredibly rare. It should help us fill some of the gaps in our base’s inventory!"
Si Youqin was surprised to hear that. "But there shouldn’t be anything good left on the surface, right?"
"It’s not on the surface. It’s underwater," Xin Wan said, shaking her head.
Si Youqin was confused. "Underwater?"
Xin Wan nodded and told them about the undercurrent.
’The news is already public on the regional channel, so there’s no harm in telling them.’
After she finished explaining, everyone was stunned.
"A phenomenon that incredible actually exists?" Si Youqin asked, her face full of astonishment.
Xin Wan nodded and led them to the eastern channel to wait for Ren Yuanyang’s group.
On the way back, Ren Yuanyang announced the start of the undercurrent directly on the regional channel.
When the other survivors saw Ren Yuanyang’s message, they immediately began to discuss it.
"This Taoyuan Yang... isn’t he the leader of the Peach Blossom Base?"
"That’s him. The one who trades food for plants."
"How would he know the undercurrent has started? We haven’t heard a peep from the Aircraft Carrier Base yet!"
"Well, they’re a proper base, so they must have their own ways of confirming things. The fact that he’s sharing this news with us is a big help."
"I wouldn’t be so sure. What if he’s tricking us? It would be incredibly dangerous to just jump into the water without thinking!"
Just then, Wang Jun from the Aircraft Carrier Base spoke up in support of Ren Yuanyang: "Hello, everyone. This is Wang Jun from the Aircraft Carrier Base. The intel provided by the Peach Blossom Base is accurate. We’ve already managed to salvage some supplies."
"See that? Captain Wang himself showed up to confirm it. What more is there to doubt? Enough talk, I’m going in to try my luck!"
Wang Jun posted again to remind everyone, "Not all areas will have supplies. If you’re located over a pre-flood city or port, the supplies churned up from below will be abundant. Conversely, if you’re over what used to be a desert, you probably won’t find anything at all."
Immediately after, he posted a marked-up map—the same one he had sent to Ren Yuanyang—showing everyone the locations where supplies were likely to be found.
"If you happen to be near one of these spots, it’s worth a shot. I’d forget about the other locations. Of course, this map is just a reference. No one knows for sure what the situation is like on the bottom."
Seeing the series of messages from Wang Jun, the survivors were all deeply grateful.
"Now *that’s* what you expect from a major base! Thank you, Captain Wang, for sharing so much intel with us!"
"Looks like I’m right over a big city. Maybe I can actually score some supplies. Enough talk, I’m going in to try my luck!"
"You’re so lucky. I’m over some remote, mountainous wilderness! Sigh..."
"Didn’t Captain Wang say the map is just a reference? Maybe some supplies got pushed right underneath you!"
"Nah, I’ll pass. The risk doesn’t seem worth the reward. It’s too dangerous."
"The Peach Blossom Base announced the undercurrent before the Aircraft Carrier Base did? Does that mean the Peach Blossom Base is stronger than the Aircraft Carrier Base?"
"Are you kidding? The Aircraft Carrier Base is a massive base formed from three of our Dragon Country’s active carrier fleets. I’d bet that no other base in the entire Dragon Country can even come close to its scale!"
"I don’t think it’s just the Dragon Country. I’d say there are very, very few bases in the entire world that can compare to the Aircraft Carrier Base."
"I bet the Aircraft Carrier Base found out about the undercurrent first and told the Peach Blossom Base. They probably just relayed the message."
Seeing their discussion, Wang Jun felt a bit embarrassed and had to step in to clear the air. "Actually, the Peach Blossom Base was the first to discover the start of the undercurrent this time. We only found out after they notified us."
This left all the survivors stunned. That rebuttal came way too fast!
"How is that possible? Is the Peach Blossom Base really stronger than the Aircraft Carrier Base?"
"You can get a hint by looking at the services the two bases offer. The Peach Blossom Base trades plants for food. The Aircraft Carrier Base has no such service!"
"That’s true. No other base is trading away food right now."
"Not necessarily. What if the Peach Blossom Base got lucky and acquired an evolved plant? If they don’t have many people and can’t consume it all themselves, it’s perfectly normal to sell off the surplus."
"That makes sense, too."
"While you guys have been busy chatting, I’ve already fished out two cases of instant noodles!"
"Holy crap, for real?! I’m going in now!"
