Seeing the three captains unanimously agree to use the seed vault, the custodian nodded. Following their instructions, he selected 90,000 types of plant seeds from the vault.
Long Zhan looked at the long list of seeds, feeling uncertain. "This is a lot of seeds we’re offering. I wonder how many potions we can get for them."
"I expect the number of potions we can get will be very limited," Ji Yizhi said, shaking his head slightly. "Peach Blossom Base’s Evolution Potions are one-of-a-kind right now. They hold all the pricing power."
Wang Jun thought for a moment before speaking up. "I’ll do my best negotiating with Taoyuan Yang. The target is 1,200 vials, and I’ll try not to go below 900."
"Isn’t that too many? After all, giving up these seeds doesn’t really affect us, and they aren’t exactly essential for Peach Blossom Base either. What if we annoy them and they refuse to trade with us? That would be a problem," Ji Yizhi said, worried.
For each type of plant seed in the vault, a reserve of over five kilograms or one thousand seeds was kept. Taking out just ten would not affect the vault’s function at all.
Peach Blossom Base wasn’t short on food. Plus, having already traded for fifty different types of seeds before, their food supply already had some diversity. So, these new seeds truly weren’t a necessity for them.
"We’ve traded with Peach Blossom Base several times, and they’re pretty straightforward. As long as I don’t get greedy and just negotiate in good faith, they shouldn’t refuse to trade with us," Wang Jun replied, signaling for Ji Yizhi to relax.
Ji Yizhi nodded slightly. "Alright then. We’re counting on your performance, Old Wang!"
Without hesitating, Wang Jun immediately sent the compiled list to Ren Yuanyang.
Seeing the long list of seeds, Ren Yuanyang pursed his lips. ’They said they didn’t have many seeds during the last trade. Yeah, right! And I bet this isn’t even all the seeds the Aircraft Carrier Base has.’
Still, these seeds were enough to keep him busy for a while. There was no need to get everything all at once.
So, Ren Yuanyang replied, "I’ll take all these seeds. What are you looking to trade for them?"
Wang Jun had expected Ren Yuanyang to ask for their price first. He hesitated for a moment before replying, "Seeing as we have so many types of seeds, and their values probably differ, let’s not price them one by one. We’ll just sell them to you as a bundle!"
Ren Yuanyang was slightly taken aback, then nodded. "That’s a good idea. How many potions do you want?"
Following the usual haggling tactic of starting high, Wang Jun cautiously proposed a number. "2,400 vials of Evolution Potion. What do you think?"
He’d asked for double, expecting them to cut the offer in half.
But to his surprise, when Ren Yuanyang heard the number, he just nodded slightly. "My Evolution Potions are exclusive and precious," he replied. "However, considering you captured the Lvzhi Country’s Feixiang Aircraft Carrier fleet, I won’t haggle. 2,400 it is. I’ll need some time to prepare the potions, so you’ll have to wait a few days."
Seeing Ren Yuanyang’s reply, Wang Jun was stunned again.
He was still waiting for a counteroffer, but the other party had agreed outright!
When Wang Jun didn’t reply, Ren Yuanyang asked in confusion, "What’s wrong? You’re not willing to wait?"
"No, no!" Wang Jun replied hastily. "We’re willing to wait. We’ll get all the seeds on the list ready for you to come and trade!"
"Alright, it’s settled then!" Ren Yuanyang said, then asked curiously, "About how many crew members are in one of your aircraft carrier fleets?"
Wang Jun was momentarily startled. He hadn’t expected Ren Yuanyang to suddenly ask about their numbers, but he gave a rough overview anyway. "An aircraft carrier itself has about 3,000 people. But a full carrier fleet also includes supply ships, patrol ships, frigates, destroyers, and so on. The total personnel comes to just under 20,000."
"So you’re saying your three aircraft carrier fleets have about sixty thousand people in total?" Ren Yuanyang continued.
"That’s about right, but the Aircraft Carrier Base has more than just sixty thousand people now," Wang Jun replied.
"I understand. Many survivors have sought refuge at the Aircraft Carrier Base." Ren Yuanyang was well aware of this. "In that case, we’ll start preparing the potions. You should get the seeds ready as well."
"Alright!"
After the chat ended, Wang Jun still found it hard to believe. He muttered to himself, ’If I’d known Peach Blossom Base was this easy to deal with, should I have asked for more?’
But he quickly shook his head. One shouldn’t be too greedy. 2,400 vials meant 2,400 new Evolvers—enough to form an entire team of them!
With that thought, he immediately went to share the good news with Long Zhan and Ji Yizhi.
"Peach Blossom Base is willing to trade 2,400 vials of Evolution Potion for our seeds."
Seeing the message, Ji Yizhi was surprised and a little confused. "Does Peach Blossom Base not understand the value of the Evolution Potions they possess?"
"That’s not it," Wang Jun said, shaking his head. "Taoyuan Yang made it very clear. The main reason they agreed to the number I proposed is that we captured the Lvzhi Country’s Feixiang Aircraft Carrier."
"Hahaha, I knew Taoyuan Yang was righteous and magnanimous!" Long Zhan said with a laugh. He then turned to Ji Yizhi. "Since the deal is settled, Captain Ji, does our previous bet still stand?"
"Of course. A bet’s a bet. For this trade with Peach Blossom Base, I’ll give you half of my share," Ji Yizhi replied.
"Hahaha, then I’ll gladly accept!" Long Zhan boomed. "But don’t worry about security, Captain Ji. I’ll have your back from now on!"
"Of course you will," Ji Yizhi snapped back irritably. "You’ll have 1,200 new Evolvers at your command now. All three fleets will be counting on you for protection!"
