The three of them were taken aback for a moment. They really hadn’t considered the problem of space.
"The trees are too tall, and the space inside the cabins is limited. It’s really not suitable," Ji Yizhi analyzed. "If we really want to plant fruit trees, we’ll have to choose some shorter varieties."
Wang Jun nodded in agreement. "Or some vine-type plants, like grapes or kiwis."
Long Zhan, however, asked curiously, "Master, since the cabin space is limited, how does Peach Blossom Base plant its trees?"
Ren Yuanyang smiled faintly. "We plant them outside."
At these words, the three of them were stunned once again.
"Plant them outside? But the rain is toxic now! How do you deal with that?" Long Zhan pressed on.
"You’ll see for yourself when you come visit our base," Ren Yuanyang said without elaborating further.
Long Zhan nodded. "Then I’ll be waiting for my Master’s invitation!"
Ren Yuanyang smiled faintly. "It’ll be soon. Don’t be impatient."
In truth, he was already considering letting a few select people, like Wang Jun, know about Peach Blossom Base.
’It was too much trouble having to deliver things himself every time.’
’It would be better to have them come over by boat to transport the goods themselves. They could even pick the fruit on their own, which would save Qin Haonan and the others from running back and forth.’
’Of course, revealing the location of Peach Blossom Base to Wang Jun would have to wait until my Mental Energy broke through the one-hundred-meter mark and I could strengthen objects like ships.’
"I understand!" Long Zhan chuckled. "We can afford to wait!"
Wang Jun and Ji Yizhi nodded as well.
After finishing his chat with the three of them, Ren Yuanyang immediately began strengthening various types of crop seeds. The Aircraft Carrier Base and Dawn Base needed quite a lot.
After completely depleting his Mental Energy, he would immediately start his Cultivation. Once his Mental Energy recovered, he would continue strengthening more seeds.
For the next while, Ren Yuanyang repeated this cycle over and over.
Although it was exhausting, he could clearly feel the upper limit of his Mental Energy increasing much faster.
It was safe to say that no other Evolver used their Mental Energy as frequently as he did.
The main crops he strengthened for the Aircraft Carrier Base were rice, wheat, corn, and soybeans. For fruits, he strengthened grapes, kiwis, and peaches.
’This should be enough to handle the emergency for now. We can slowly diversify the crop types later.’
After he finished the strengthening process, Ren Yuanyang called Lin Mu over.
"Leader, you were looking for me?" Lin Mu asked respectfully as he walked into the office.
Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. "We’re going to sell a batch of strengthened seeds to the Aircraft Carrier Base and Dawn Base to alleviate their food crisis. After the trade is complete, I need you to guide them online. Planting them is simple, but this will be their first time cultivating strengthened crops in large quantities, so there are some things you need to explain to them."
Lin Mu was taken aback. "Are we just giving them away?"
Ren Yuanyang smiled and replied, "When you’re struggling, you look after yourself. When you prosper, you should help others. Besides, I had them arrange for an aircraft carrier to come to Dawn Base. You could say it’s to act as our base’s bodyguard, right?"
Hearing this, Lin Mu was stunned again. "The Aircraft Carrier Base is actually sending an aircraft carrier over?"
Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. "Yes. Everyone on the regional channel is already talking about it. You haven’t seen?"
"I’ve been too busy with work in the planting space recently, so I haven’t had the chance," Lin Mu said, shaking his head.
"You’ve worked hard. You should recruit some more people to help you," Ren Yuanyang replied.
"Thank you for your concern, Leader. I’m already in the process of evaluating personnel," Lin Mu replied with a respectful gesture.
"Mm, don’t be too restrictive. As long as they don’t have cell phones and can’t expose our base’s location, feel free to employ them generously," Ren Yuanyang reminded him.
"Yes, I understand!" Lin Mu nodded.
"Go on, get back to work. After Qin Haonan delivers the seeds, I’ll have Captain Wang and the others contact you," Ren Yuanyang said.
"Understood!" Lin Mu responded, then turned and left the office.
Meanwhile, after nearly a week of sailing, the River Bird Fleet was finally approaching the Aircraft Carrier Base.
But eighty percent of the River Bird Fleet’s crew had fallen ill, and there were even some deaths.
If the Aircraft Carrier Base hadn’t provided them with some medicine, at least half of those who had fallen ill would have likely died.
"How much longer until we reach the Aircraft Carrier Base?" asked Nelson, the captain of the River Bird Fleet, with a frown.
"Replying to the Captain, about three more hours!" his aide replied immediately from the side.
Nelson let out a small sigh of relief. "We’re finally almost there."
The aide, however, furrowed his brow. "Captain, the Aircraft Carrier Base may have an effective treatment for this unknown virus, but will they really give it to us?"
Nelson sighed. "We have no way of turning back now. By the time we reach the Aircraft Carrier Base, we’ll have basically used up all our fuel reserves. We’ll just have to adopt a more humble attitude."
"If we’re too humble, won’t Dragon Country look down on us?" the aide asked, worried.
Nelson shook his head. "I don’t know. We’ll have to take it one step at a time. Let’s just hope Dragon Country is as benevolent and courteous as Hansen said."
Hansen was the person he had sent to confirm the existence of the Evolution Potions. At the time, Nelson had planned on trading the seeds they possessed for more Evolution Potions from the Aircraft Carrier Base. With those, he could create a group of Evolvers. Relying on these Evolvers for rapid development, they might have even been able to join the ranks of the first-rate fleets.
But the sudden toxin and virus had left Nelson completely overwhelmed. Looking at the huge number of sick crew members, his ambition was no longer as high as it used to be.
’We were almost wiped out. What’s the point of thinking about development? I’ll be satisfied if we can just survive!’
