The top leader of the Aircraft Carrier Base himself came forward to endorse the medicine, which surprised all the survivors.
And Captain Wang’s claim of a complete cure in a single dose shocked them even more.
"Is this for real?"
"Captain Wang wouldn’t lie to us, would he?"
"But the medicine’s effects sound too exaggerated. It just doesn’t feel real!"
"So, will we still get a chance to use this medicine?"
"I really want to slap myself. I could’ve been free from this pain, but now I’m stuck on Western medicine, and who knows how long it’ll take to get better. My head is throbbing even more just thinking about it!"
"I heard Western medicine leaves residues that the body can’t metabolize, causing a lot of side effects!"
"Isn’t herbal medicine the same? We have an old saying in the Dragon Country: all medicine is partly poison."
"That’s true, but herbal remedies come from nature. They’re bound to be easier for the body to process than industrially synthesized chemicals."
"Damn it, just stop. The more you talk, the more I realize how badly I screwed up!"
Although some people were still skeptical, they didn’t dare to continue questioning in the group chat and just watched from the sidelines.
At this moment, the speedboat from the Aircraft Carrier Base sent to pick up the Wine Bamboo had already met up with the River Bird Fleet’s speedboat.
As previously agreed, the Aircraft Carrier Base traded medicine, water, and other supplies for over a thousand types of seeds, including Wine Bamboo.
This was the River Bird Base’s way of showing its sincerity!
Captain Wang had only asked for Wine Bamboo seeds, but Nelson brought out every kind of bamboo-related seed they had.
After the two parties completed the transaction, they immediately turned back.
Upon receiving news of the successful trade, Nelson immediately sent a message of thanks to Captain Wang: "Captain Wang, I really must thank you this time! Your medicine saved our entire base!"
"You’re too kind, Captain Nelson! I should be thanking you for providing us with so many seeds!" Captain Wang replied with a smile.
"Right now, the value of our seeds can’t compare to that medicine." Nelson shook his head. "In the end, we’re the ones who got the better end of the deal!"
Captain Wang shook his head slightly. "To us, the value of those plant seeds is no less than the medicine. The seeds you have are very important to us!"
Nelson was slightly stunned, then nodded and said solemnly, "Rest assured, Captain Wang Jun. We will definitely bring all the seeds over safely!"
"Good! Contact me immediately if any problems arise!" Captain Wang replied.
After ending the call, Captain Wang immediately issued an order to the speedboat that had completed the trade: "Head directly to Dawn Base. Do not return to the Aircraft Carrier Base!"
"Yes, sir!"
Carrying the Wine Bamboo seeds, the speedboat raced toward Dawn Base.
"Brother Yang, we’ve got the Wine Bamboo seeds. They’re on their way to Dawn Base now. It’s a long way, so it’ll probably take about two days!"
Seeing the message from Captain Wang, Ren Yuanyang was delighted. "That’s fantastic! Thanks for all the hard work. Tell them not to push it—safety first. A little delay won’t make a difference!"
"Will do!" Captain Wang replied.
"By the way, is there any sign of the temperature dropping?" Ren Yuanyang asked.
Captain Wang shook his head. "No, it’s already approaching forty degrees!"
"You guys need to be careful and stay cool to avoid heatstroke, too!" Ren Yuanyang reminded him, frowning slightly.
"Sigh, staying cool requires a huge amount of energy!" Captain Wang replied with a sigh.
"With our base around, are you still worried about energy problems?" Ren Yuanyang asked back with a laugh.
Captain Wang was taken aback for a moment, then nodded and replied: "That’s true. But your base’s energy hasn’t been shipped over yet. We’re getting anxious with no reserves on hand!"
"Sea transport is still a bit too slow right now!" Ren Yuanyang sounded equally helpless.
"Yeah, and with the current situation, improving it is going to be difficult," Captain Wang agreed.
"Your research personnel in the lab have all been injected with the Evolution Potion, right?" Ren Yuanyang continued. "There should be some breakthroughs after the intelligence boost. Give them some time!"
"Yes, we’re just waiting for their breakthrough now!" Captain Wang replied.
"Have you tried using planes?" Ren Yuanyang asked.
"We tried. We can’t break through the current cloud layer. It feels like Blue Star is wrapped in a thick blanket of clouds! And planes can’t just fly at low altitudes indefinitely. Besides worrying about low-altitude obstacles like birds, flying low also consumes too much fuel!" Captain Wang replied.
Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. "I see. It looks like our main mode of transport is still by ship, then!"
"Mhm, I’m also planning to try using submarines to transport supplies," Captain Wang continued. "They don’t have much to do right now anyway. Having them moonlight as a delivery service wouldn’t be a bad idea!"
"Didn’t you say the submarines don’t dare to dive easily right now?" Ren Yuanyang was slightly taken aback.
"They’ll just be transporting things, not diving for a mission," Captain Wang replied with a smile.
"You’re basically just using submarines as surface ships!" Ren Yuanyang laughed.
"Everyone else is busy. We can’t just let them sit idle, can we!" Captain Wang replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
Ren Yuanyang nodded. "Right. Then let’s get them moving!"
The two chatted a bit more about matters following the trade before ending the call.
The day passed quickly. James and his group had cleaned the supply ship until it was spotless.
Si Youqin reported the matter truthfully, and Ren Yuanyang nodded in satisfaction. "Well done. Let’s give them an extra dish tonight!"
"Yes, sir!"
At dinner, James and the others discovered an extra dish had been added to their meal. Although it wasn’t a meat dish, it was stir-fried with lard and was exceptionally delicious.
"This dish is a reward from the leader. He was very pleased that you took the initiative to clean up," Si Youqin explained briefly.
