"Then I’ll just pull off the stem and throw it!" Long Zhan announced, cradling the Iron Melon in his right hand, his left already gripping the stem.
Ren Yuanyang held out a hand, gesturing for him to go ahead.
Long Zhan didn’t hesitate any longer. He pulled the stem right off the Iron Melon and quickly threw it into the distance.
At that moment, Qin Haonan, who had already completed the trade, aimed the searchlight to track where the Iron Melon would land.
BANG!
The Iron Melon exploded the instant it hit the water’s surface!
Its hard shell scattered in all directions!
Although there were no enemies there to experience the power of the Iron Melon’s explosion, Wang Jun and Long Zhan could still make a rough estimate of its destructive force just by watching the blast.
"It might not be on par with an artillery shell, but that’s more than enough explosive power!" Long Zhan said in amazement.
Wang Jun nodded in agreement. "It is!"
"Captain Wang, you should give it a try, too!" Ren Yuanyang suggested.
"Alright!" Wang Jun replied. "But this time, I want it to explode in mid-air!"
Ren Yuanyang paused for a moment, then smiled. "That’ll require one of your sharpshooters, then!"
"Right. That’s why I’m telling you in advance. We’re about to open fire. Is that all right?" Wang Jun asked.
"Of course. As long as he’s not aiming over here!" Ren Yuanyang joked.
"That won’t happen," Wang Jun said, shaking his head. He then pulled the stem, called out a warning to the sharpshooter, and hurled the melon into the distance.
The Iron Melon flew about twenty meters and reached the apex of its arc. A gunshot rang out, and the melon exploded instantly.
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!
Shards from the Iron Melon sprayed out in every direction!
"Nice shot!" Ren Yuanyang praised.
"It’s how they make their living, so they can’t afford to be sloppy!" Long Zhan replied with a smile. "Oh, and what about that other thing, the Spray Melon?"
"They’re all over our ship!" Ren Yuanyang said, plucking a Spray Melon directly from a Vine growing on a nearby railing. "This is it. Just be careful to leave the stem attached when you pick it!"
Long Zhan was taken aback. "I thought these plants could only be used by Wood-Type Evolvers!"
"A Wood-Type Evolver could use them, sure. Assuming they can control them, of course," Ren Yuanyang replied nonchalantly.
Long Zhan nodded, finding the point entirely valid.
’As one of the first naturally awakened Evolvers, even he couldn’t control them. He figured there were probably very few people on all of Blue Star who could.’
"You use it pretty much the same way as the Iron Melon, but this one is handheld," Ren Yuanyang said as he began to demonstrate. freewebnovel.com
They watched as he pointed the stem away from himself, pulled it off, and a torrent of seeds shot out from inside the fruit.
Wang Jun and his men could even hear a WHOOSHing sound, a testament to the incredible speed of the seeds.
"You two can give it a try," Ren Yuanyang said with a smile to Wang Jun and Long Zhan, tossing aside the empty Spray Melon.
"Captain Long, you give it a shot. I’ll pass," Wang Jun replied.
Long Zhan wasn’t one to be polite. He found a Spray Melon, picked it carefully, and then, following Ren Yuanyang’s demonstration, fired it as well.
"I can’t believe such a tiny Spray Melon packs so much power!" Long Zhan exclaimed as he rummaged through the vines on the railing and saw there were still plenty more. "These Spray Melons bear a lot of fruit!"
"A phobia of being under-gunned is practically in our blood. So of course, the more the better!" Ren Yuanyang replied with a laugh.
Long Zhan gave him a thumbs-up. "Exactly. You can never have too many weapons!"
Wang Jun glanced at the vines covering the speedboat and suddenly asked, "Brother Yang, I was wondering, are you able to control these rather unique plants?"
