"Isn’t that just because their population is so large?" the adviser asked with a slight frown, offering a different perspective.
Bao Mu shook his head. "The population of the Blue Peacock Country has already surpassed the Dragon Country’s, yet they don’t have a single decent fleet."
The adviser nodded in agreement. ’Knowing their penchant for showing off, if they had a super-sized fleet or base, they would’ve advertised it to the whole world by now!’
"So, our only real opponent has always been the Dragon Country. The Dragon Country People have the greatest potential!" Bao Mu held the Dragon Country in high regard.
"I understand!" the adviser replied. "I’ll relay the order to move the base at once!"
The Xi’an Base followed the route Mike had taken, heading toward the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region.
When Mike received the message from Bao Mu saying they were on the move, he was stunned.
"You’re coming over, too?" Mike asked, incredulous. ’Aren’t we usually the ones leading the charge?’
Bao Mu nodded slightly. "Four fleets working together to attack the Peach Blossom Base is a safer bet."
"That’s true," Mike immediately replied. "In that case, can we stop and wait for you? It would save us some fuel for the fight."
"Of course," Bao Mu replied. "As long as the Aircraft Carrier Base’s fleet isn’t chasing you."
"Understood, sir!" Mike acknowledged, then immediately issued an order. "Confirm if the Aircraft Carrier Base’s fleet is in pursuit. If not, prepare to halt and regroup. Maintain patrol!"
"Yes, sir!"
Soon, they confirmed that only a few speedboats were tailing them, not an aircraft carrier fleet.
Upon receiving this news, Mike and his fleet immediately came to a halt.
The speedboats tailing them immediately relayed the message to Long Zhan.
"They stopped again?" Long Zhan frowned.
The Liaoyuan’s aircraft carrier fleet had already withdrawn; chasing them again seemed pointless.
"Don’t chase them for now. Just use the speedboats to monitor their movements," Ren Yuanyang advised in the group chat.
"Yes, Master!" Long Zhan replied.
"For the next couple of days, you’ll practice your Cultivation on your own," Ren Yuanyang continued. "I need to focus on increasing my Mental Energy, so I’m canceling the morning and evening sessions for now."
The three of them readily agreed.
Ren Yuanyang also announced the news at the Peach Blossom Base.
"Leader, you should have done this ages ago. Teaching us every day takes up too much of your Cultivation time!" Qin Haonan said with a smile.
Lu Jiamei nodded. "A teacher can open the door, but you must enter by yourself. From now on, let’s all self-study during the morning and evening sessions. An occasional lecture when the Leader has time will be enough!"
"Exactly, that’s how it should be!" Hua Lingfang added. "This way, the Leader will have more time to improve himself!"
The others all agreed.
Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. "I’m going into seclusion for a few days. You all can manage the base’s affairs by discussing things among yourselves. Don’t disturb me unless it’s something important!"
"Yes, Leader!" Lu Jiamei and the others replied in unison.
For the next few days, Ren Yuanyang spent every waking moment on his Cultivation, only stopping to eat.
「Two days later」
At the Aircraft Carrier Base, laboratory head Zhao Jun was reporting to Wang Jun about the rainwater.
"The concentration of toxins and viruses in the rainwater is now extremely low. It has no effect on ordinary people whatsoever."
Wang Jun nodded. "Good. Announce it. Let everyone know they don’t need to be so afraid of the rain anymore."
"Yes, sir!"
The Aircraft Carrier Base quickly issued the notice, and the survivors on the base erupted in cheers.
"Are we finally past it?"
"Yeah, the rain is finally back to normal!"
"It doesn’t even matter if it’s normal or not. Here on the Aircraft Carrier Base, the leadership has our backs. There’s nothing to be afraid of!"
"That may be true, but I still hope the rain goes back to normal. At least then we won’t have to worry about it when we go out to work!"
"I’m gonna post this on the public channel!"
"Too slow! Someone already posted it on the public channel!"
Meanwhile, the public channel was already abuzz with discussion.
"It seems like the Aircraft Carrier Base’s tech level has surpassed the other bases!"
"Yeah, it’s always the Aircraft Carrier Base that’s first to announce news about the rain. What about the other fleets that claim to be so advanced? Not a peep from them."
"You can’t say that. Other fleets might have figured it out already, but they wouldn’t necessarily tell us!"
"That’s why the Aircraft Carrier Base is the place to be! I’m already on my way there. What about you guys?"
"I want to join the Aircraft Carrier Base too, but I don’t have a way in!"
"It’s easy. Just get your hands on a plant they don’t have."
"Easier said than done. Where am I supposed to find novel plants like that?"
"You could sell the scrap metal you’ve salvaged to the Aircraft Carrier Base. If their trade convoy passes by your location, you can follow them back!"
"Really? I’ve actually got a lot of scrap metal on hand!"
"Of course! But you’d better pray their trade convoy passes by your area!"
"Whatever, I’m contacting them now. We’ll see if I’m fated to join the Aircraft Carrier Base!"
At that moment, the Aircraft Carrier Base began to promote the cultivation of Enhancement Seeds.
To fully mobilize the survivors, Wang Jun allowed them to lease plots in the planting areas.
The survivors had no other work at the time, so when they heard they could lease plots, many decided to give it a try.
But some people were not optimistic at all.
"Growing crops on the ocean’s surface? It’s too difficult! I’m worried nothing will grow at all!"
"Yeah, anyone who’s ever farmed knows crops can’t grow if their roots are just soaking in water!"
"I’m just afraid we’ll end up with a total crop failure and still have to pay the lease fee!"
Amid the public’s skepticism, the Aircraft Carrier Base’s agricultural experts began to instruct the survivors who had leased plots.
"Your main tasks are to manage the spacing between the plants and, later, to harvest them."
After hearing the expert’s instructions, all the newly-minted farmers were stunned.
The agricultural expert continued, "You might not understand right now, but you will after you’ve grown your first crop. For now, just do as we say!"
Although everyone was full of doubt, they figured they should just do as the experts said for now.
The "seeds" the farmers received were actually already-sprouted seedlings, ready to be planted directly in the water.
They were all shocked when they saw the crops standing perfectly upright in the water.
"What is this? Since when can wheat stand upright in water?"
"It’s not just the wheat! The soybeans and corn are doing it too!"
"This must be a new variety developed by the base!"
"That has to be it. Otherwise, the agricultural experts wouldn’t have given such simple instructions!"
One day later, all the farmers were staring at their crops, completely dumbfounded.
"What’s happening? How are they growing so fast?"
"I have a feeling they’ll be mature soon!"
"It’s not just a feeling. At this rate, they’ll all be mature by tomorrow morning at the latest!"
"Mature in two days? That’s way too fast!"
"Captain Wang did say our base developed fast-growing, high-yield crops. This must be them!"
"I just never imagined ’fast-growing’ meant *this* fast!"
"Yeah! With crops like these, our base will never have to worry about food again!"
"Captain Wang already told us about this. Don’t act so surprised!"
News of this quickly spread to the regional channel. Some of the farmers had even live-streamed the entire process!
The other fleets and bases that saw this were utterly dumbfounded!
