"We’re done tracking!" Ji Yizhi shook his head decisively. "We couldn’t keep up before, even with advanced drones, so there’s no point in trying with these outdated ones! It’s a waste of time!"
Wang Jun smiled and nodded. "I thought you’d try again."
"This Peach Blossom Base is certainly something else. Let’s just focus on maintaining a good relationship for now," Ji Yizhi said, spreading his hands helplessly.
"Yeah, who knows? Maybe they can actually help us solve this Evolution Potion problem," Long Zhan added.
"Let’s hope so." Even though Ji Yizhi admitted Peach Blossom Base was impressive, he still wasn’t very optimistic about the matter.
After all, the Evolution Potion was something completely new. Developing it wasn’t a task that could be completed overnight.
Even with the data from Lvzhi Country, they had only studied it for two or three months. They were still a long way from a finished product!
Most scientific research projects are measured in years.
At that moment, Ren Yuanyang was explaining the details of the upcoming trade to Qin Haonan.
"To save time, I’m arranging the trade to happen in the Second-level Wind Sea Region, two hundred kilometers from here," Ren Yuanyang said, pointing to a spot on the map. "It’ll take the team from the Aircraft Carrier Base about five or six hours to get there. We just need to arrive a little bit before they do."
Qin Haonan nodded. "Got it."
"Bring extra peaches and Cherry Tomatoes on the boat. When you make the trade with the Aircraft Carrier Base, give them thirty pounds of peaches and ninety pounds of Cherry Tomatoes as a gift," Ren Yuanyang instructed. "Keep the rest for the journey."
Qin Haonan always brought extra fruit whenever he went out, which he used to trade for any interesting plants he might find along the way.
"Alright, I’ll remember that," Qin Haonan replied.
After settling on the trade location, Ren Yuanyang immediately sent the coordinates to the Aircraft Carrier Base.
"We’ll trade at this location. Head on over. We’re setting out for the same spot as well."
Upon seeing the message from Ren Yuanyang, Wang Jun immediately replied, "Alright, we’re heading out now!"
Wang Jun made a point to instruct the trade team, "Make sure these supplies get directly into the hands of the team from Peach Blossom Base. No mistakes!"
"Yes, Captain!"
After the team departed, Wang Jun sent the coordinates to the captains’ group chat.
"These are the trade coordinates provided by Peach Blossom Base."
"You think this sea region might be the midpoint between our two bases?" Ji Yizhi speculated.
"What, you still haven’t given up? You want to go over there and have a look?" Long Zhan asked with a laugh.
Ji Yizhi shook his head. "Just a guess."
"I doubt it. Given how cautious Peach Blossom Base is, they wouldn’t be that careless," Wang Jun said, shaking his head.
Ji Yizhi nodded. "Hasn’t Peach Blossom Base said what they’re offering in exchange for these lab supplies?"
"No," Wang Jun said, shaking his head before smiling. "The fact that they aren’t offering anything in trade is actually a good thing. It means we’ll have contributed to whatever results they produce. And judging by Peach Blossom Base’s style so far, they won’t treat their contributors poorly."
Ji Yizhi paused for a moment, then frowned. He clearly thought Wang Jun was being too optimistic.
"Don’t get hung up on it. If they really manage to crack the problem with the Evolution Potion, we can just buy it from them. As long as we can mass-produce Evolvers, spending some resources is a net gain," Long Zhan said with a casual look.
Ji Yizhi was taken aback for a second before nodding. He had to agree with that point.
Just then, Ren Yuanyang suddenly sent a message in the region-wide channel, tagging Wang Jun.
"The second dark surge has begun! @Captain Wang Jun."
After receiving the message, Wang Jun immediately said to the other two, "The second wave has started. Peach Blossom Base just notified me. Let’s get everyone moving!"
"Right!" Ji Yizhi and Long Zhan didn’t hesitate for a second. They immediately ordered the harvesting teams to start their work!
Meanwhile, in the region-wide channel, the other survivors were buzzing with discussion again.
"How did Peach Blossom Base know the dark surge started? And they tagged Captain Wang directly in the region-wide channel?"
"Maybe they were just too lazy to send two separate messages. This way, they notified both the Aircraft Carrier Base and us at the same time!"
"Could it be fake?"
"If you don’t believe it, then don’t go in the water to harvest. Simple as that!"
Just then, Wang Jun immediately responded in the region-wide channel: "Alright, thanks @Taoyuan Yang. We’re starting harvesting operations on our end immediately!"
"See that? Captain Wang Jun is harvesting based on the tip from Peach Blossom Base. What the hell are you still waiting for?"
"Smart people have already pulled in a haul of supplies. Idiots are still hesitating!"
One survivor even snapped a few photos of the supplies they’d just hauled in and posted them!
"I’m so tired of saying how jealous I am. Too bad I’m not a good swimmer and can’t dive!"
"I’m a landlubber too. I only dare to stay on my little boat and scoop up whatever’s on the surface!"
"It’s a miracle you’ve even survived this long, then!"
After sending the message, Ren Yuanyang stopped looking at the region-wide channel. They were about to get busy again.
Lu Jiamei called Si Youqin and her group over again.
"The dark surge has started again. I’ll need everyone to work a little harder today, and I’ll give you all a day off tomorrow," Ren Yuanyang said, looking at Si Youqin and her group.
"It’s no trouble! Thank you, Boss!" Si Youqin and the others replied in unison.
Qin Haonan was already circling outside the Banyan Forest in his speedboat. After a few laps, he slowly guided the boat back to the forest’s edge.
