Nelson nodded slightly. "I believe we should move our entire fleet near the Aircraft Carrier Base."
Everyone at the meeting was stunned.
"If we move over there, won’t we just get swallowed up by the Aircraft Carrier Base?" someone asked worriedly.
Nelson shook his head and asked, "Have you ever seen the Dragon Country actively invade another nation?"
The person was taken aback for a moment, then shook his head. But he quickly frowned again. "But the world is different now!"
"Yes, the world is indeed different now. It’s time we considered which power to align ourselves with," Nelson said with a sigh.
Everyone was stunned once more.
"Captain, are you saying we should break away from the Sea Eagle Country?" someone asked.
"Even before the flood, we were already in decline. The Sea Eagle Country was outwardly strong but inwardly weak, while the Dragon Country was developing rapidly in all aspects. Even without this flood, the global landscape was bound to change dramatically. I’ve been considering this for a long time," Nelson replied in a low voice.
The crowd nodded slightly.
"Although we have enough food and water for now, it won’t last forever. Befriending or even pledging allegiance to the Aircraft Carrier Base might be a good option," Nelson continued.
Before the flood, the Dragon Country was a major agricultural nation, so their grain reserves were certainly abundant. Furthermore, their agricultural experts had developed all sorts of high-yield crops, putting them far ahead in the field.
The Evolution Potions provided by the Aircraft Carrier Base were further proof of their technological superiority.
Taking all this into consideration, Nelson believed that using the seed trade as an opportunity to build a good relationship with the Aircraft Carrier Base was a very wise move.
"I think the Captain is right. If we’re closer to the Aircraft Carrier Base, it’ll be much more convenient for us to get more Evolution Potions!"
"Exactly! I’ve felt for a long time that the Sea Eagle Country was just holding us back. We should have broken away ages ago!"
"I think just building a good relationship is enough for now. There’s no need to pledge allegiance."
"That’s right. We still need to maintain our independence."
Nelson didn’t comment on this, but instead said, "So, I take it no one objects to moving the fleet now?"
The crowd shook their heads in unison.
"Then let’s get underway immediately!" Nelson nodded slightly. "As for how we’ll interact with the Aircraft Carrier Base, we can discuss that as we go."
"Yes, sir!" the crowd replied in unison.
As the order was given, the River Bird Fleet began to move.
Nelson also sent a message to Hansen: "You wait for us at the Aircraft Carrier Base. Our fleet should arrive there within a week."
Upon receiving this message, Hansen immediately sent a video call request.
"Captain, is the entire fleet coming over?" Hansen asked, his face full of confusion.
Nelson nodded slightly.
Hansen grew anxious. "After the fleet comes over, won’t we be out of fuel to return?"
"Mm, we’re not planning to return. We’ll set down roots nearby," Nelson replied.
Hansen was stunned, then frowned and asked, "Isn’t that too dangerous?"
"We’ve already discussed it here. Given the current situation, this is our best option," Nelson replied.
Hansen was silent for a long moment before nodding. "I understand. Should I explain the situation to the Aircraft Carrier Base?"
"I’ll speak to Captain Wang personally. For your part, just get to know people, and be careful not to break any of the Aircraft Carrier Base’s rules," Nelson said, shaking his head.
"Yes, Captain!" Hansen replied.
After giving Hansen his instructions, Nelson immediately requested a call with Wang Jun.
When Wang Jun saw his video call request, he said with a smile, "It seems the River Bird Fleet has made its decision."
There was no doubt about the efficacy of the Evolution Potions provided by the Peach Blossom Base. The five members of the River Bird Fleet had surely become Evolvers by now and relayed this news back to their fleet.
Ji Yizhi, who was beside him, nodded slightly. "Let’s see what decision they’ve made."
Wang Jun immediately accepted the video call.
"Hello, Captain Nelson," Wang Jun greeted with a smile.
"Hello, Captain Wang Jun," Nelson said, getting straight to the point. "Yesterday, our crew members used your base’s Evolution Potions, and today they have all become Evolvers. We would like to continue trading for more Evolution Potions with your base."
"I’m very happy that you’ve chosen to continue trading with us," Wang Jun replied. "How much are you planning to trade for this time?"
"Everything!" Nelson said with exceptional decisiveness. "We’re prepared to trade all the seeds in the International Seed Bank with you."
Wang Jun was momentarily surprised, then said with a smile, "In that case, I assume you’re planning to send a large ship over."
Over a million seed samples was no small number.
"No, we’re planning to bring the entire fleet," Nelson said, shaking his head. "I wonder if the Aircraft Carrier Base would welcome us?"
Wang Jun’s eyebrow twitched slightly. "Of course, you’re welcome."
"Besides trading for Evolution Potions, I also plan to hand over the International Seed Bank to the Aircraft Carrier Base for safekeeping. I hope we can develop more trade opportunities in the future, for things like food and water," Nelson continued.
Wang Jun now roughly understood Nelson’s intentions. The other party was planning to use the International Seed Bank as a form of tribute to the Aircraft Carrier Base, positioning the River Bird Fleet as a smaller nation, or even a vassal state.
Since the other party was delivering themselves to his doorstep, Wang Jun naturally accepted with pleasure. After all, it posed no loss for the Aircraft Carrier Base.
Even if they needed food and water in the future, they would still have to provide something of equal value in exchange.
"Then we really must thank you, Captain Nelson," Wang Jun replied with a smile.
"You’re too kind, Captain Wang," Nelson replied. "Our fleet is already underway and should reach the Aircraft Carrier Base in about a week. Hansen and his men will need to impose on your hospitality for a while longer."
