"That’s a good idea, indeed," Ji Yizhi said with a slight nod. But then, a flicker of worry crossed his face. "I’m just concerned that other countries haven’t managed to save many wild animals, either."
Wang Jun smiled. "We don’t really need to worry about that. Even if we agonize over it here, we can’t change the reality of the situation."
"I guess I’m worrying for nothing," Ji Yizhi said, smiling and shaking his head.
Just then, a soldier walked in briskly.
"Reporting, Captain! There’s a speedboat outside. They claim to be from the River Bird Fleet, here to negotiate a trade!"
"They’re finally here!" Wang Jun shot to his feet. "Bring them here!"
"Yes, sir!" The soldier turned and left.
Soon, a group of Westerners with brown hair walked in.
"Hello. I’m Hansen, and I have full authority to handle this trade," the man in the lead said, introducing himself.
Wang Jun extended his hand and shook Hansen’s. "I’m Wang Jun, one of the three captains of the Aircraft Carrier Base."
"Captain Wang Jun, it’s a pleasure," Hansen said with a slight nod.
A secretary brought over cups of tea and placed them in front of Hansen and his men.
Upon seeing the tea, Hansen and the others couldn’t help but lick their dry lips.
When they set out from the River Bird Fleet, they hadn’t yet been notified that the rain was toxic, so they hadn’t prepared much purified water.
Their speedboat was out of water.
Seeing their parched lips, Wang Jun smiled. "I’m not sure if you’re accustomed to our tea, but please, give it a try. Be careful, it’s a little hot."
"Thank you, Captain Wang Jun," Hansen replied. He then picked up the teacup and carefully took a sip.
Even though it scalded his mouth, he swallowed it anyway. He was just too thirsty.
Wang Jun gestured, calling his secretary over and whispering a few words in their ear.
The secretary nodded and left.
A moment later, the secretary returned with several glasses of purified water and placed them before Hansen and his men.
"The tea is too hot. Have some plain water first," Wang Jun said with a smile.
The eyes of Hansen and his men lit up.
"Thank you!"
After thanking him, Hansen and his men immediately picked up the glasses and began to drink.
Hansen wasn’t the least bit worried that the Aircraft Carrier Base might have poisoned the water.
If the Aircraft Carrier Base really wanted to kill them, they wouldn’t need to go to such trouble, much less waste precious water resources.
With the rain now toxic, water had become an incredibly precious resource.
They were just ordinary people, whereas the Aircraft Carrier Base surely had many Evolvers. Wiping them out would be effortless.
After finishing the glass of water, Hansen and his men felt incredibly refreshed.
Hansen let out a long breath, stood, and bowed to Wang Jun. "Thank you for your hospitality, Captain Wang Jun. Our speedboat is out of purified water."
"Don’t mention it. If you need, we can fill your speedboat with purified water," Wang Jun said with a dismissive wave of his hand, as if it were nothing.
Hansen was taken aback for a moment, then asked tentatively, "The Aircraft Carrier Base doesn’t have a shortage of purified water?"
"We’ve just solved the water purification problem, so our base has no shortage of water," Wang Jun replied with a smile.
Hansen and his men stared at Wang Jun, their eyes wide with utter astonishment.
"The Aircraft Carrier Base is truly impressive," Hansen couldn’t help but marvel.
"Just a stroke of luck," Wang Jun said with a wave of his hand, steering the conversation back to the seed trade. "So, what kind of trade did you have in mind for this visit?"
Getting down to business, Hansen’s expression turned serious. "We’d like to start by trading for five Evolution Potions. We’ll use them to test the effects on our own people. Would that be acceptable?"
Wang Jun nodded. "Of course. But is the price negotiable?"
"Our captain has granted me full authority. Yes, it is," Hansen replied.
"Our price is twenty thousand seed varieties for one Evolution Potion," Wang Jun stated bluntly.
Hansen frowned slightly. "That price is too high. We believe one thousand varieties should be enough for one Evolution Potion."
"That’s impossible," Wang Jun said, shaking his head firmly. "Our Evolution Potions have a one hundred percent success rate. As for your seeds, I only need twenty from each variety, which would have a negligible impact on your stocks. Furthermore, these seeds aren’t essential for our survival. We’re simply hoping that when the flood recedes one day, we can restore the original biodiversity of Blue Star."
Hansen probed, "What about five thousand varieties?"
Wang Jun shook his head again. "If you’re not going to negotiate in good faith, then let’s just forget it. You’re welcome to stay at our base for a couple of days to rest and relax before you head back."
Hearing this, Hansen grew anxious. "Wait, please! The price you’re asking is too high. The number of seed varieties we brought isn’t even enough to trade for five Evolution Potions!"
Wang Jun pondered for a moment. "Fifteen thousand varieties, then. That’s our final offer. If you don’t have enough, come back when you do."
Hansen mentally calculated the number of varieties they had brought, then nodded. "Alright. Fifteen thousand varieties for one Evolution Potion it is."
Wang Jun smiled and nodded. "Excellent. We can make the trade immediately, so you can begin your tests as soon as possible."
Hansen confirmed one last time, "Are you certain your Evolution Potions are one hundred percent reliable?"
"Absolutely," Wang Jun affirmed with a resolute nod. "But you must understand, not everyone becomes an Intelligence-Type Evolver."
Hansen paused, taken aback. "What do you mean by that?"
"It’s based on the Evolver system we’ve developed from observing all the personnel on our base who have taken the Evolution Potion..." Wang Jun then gave Hansen a brief explanation.
