"So, does this mean I can inject another one?" Qin Haonan mused, rubbing his chin.
"I’d actually like to run that test," Ren Yuanyang said, surprisingly not objecting. His tone was serious. "But it could be dangerous. Are you sure you want to try?"
Qin Haonan was taken aback. He had only been speaking off the cuff, not expecting Ren Yuanyang to actually take him seriously!
But since Ren Yuanyang had given the green light, Qin Haonan certainly wasn’t going to back down. He was the sharpest sword in his leader’s hand.
"Of course. We have to try! I survived the first one, so what’s a second one?" Qin Haonan said with a grin, a look of nonchalance on his face.
Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. "Elder Hua, bring another Evolution Potion!"
Hua Lingfang hesitated. Although Ren Yuanyang had already proven that an Evolver could use another Evolution Potion without issue, in his eyes, Ren Yuanyang had been an Evolver before. Qin Haonan’s situation was different.
"Don’t worry, Elder Hua. I was fine when I had a normal constitution, so I’ll be even better now that I’m an Evolver. We’ll just have to see if I can awaken a new type of Superpower!" Qin Haonan said with a reassuring smile.
Resigned, Hua Lingfang could only take out another Evolution Potion.
This time, Qin Haonan switched arms and injected it himself again.
"There, now it’s balanced. One shot for each arm!" Qin Haonan said optimistically.
"If you feel any discomfort, you must let us know immediately!" Ren Yuanyang instructed.
"You got it. I’m going to get some rest first. I’ve got watch duty in the second half of the night!" Qin Haonan waved and walked toward his bamboo hut.
"It’s getting late. Everyone else should get some rest too," Ren Yuanyang said to the others.
Lu Jiamei and the others stood up and left.
Ren Yuanyang returned to his room, finally able to properly study the system’s recent notifications.
First, the nine-enhancement limit had been removed. He could now enhance things as needed, as long as he had enough Mental Energy!
Of course, he also had to consider the environment. If the surroundings couldn’t support an enhanced organism’s growth, the organism might die quickly instead.
For example, Ren Yuanyang could enhance a peach pit to grow into a tree and bear fruit in one second. However, a growing peach tree requires sufficient sunlight, water, and nutrients. If the environment couldn’t provide these, it would die.
In other words, Ren Yuanyang’s enhancements were no longer limited, but they were constrained by the surrounding environment.
Second, the complete unlocking of biological enhancement meant he could enhance any living thing on Blue Star, provided he had enough Mental Energy!
It’s common knowledge that organisms in the natural world are divided into the plant kingdom, the animal kingdom, the Fungi Kingdom, and so on. There are five-kingdom models, six-kingdom models, and others, with classifications varying between theories.
There’s even academic debate about whether certain things, like viruses, can be defined as living organisms. For now, they were categorized here as non-cellular microorganisms.
Previously, Ren Yuanyang’s system had only unlocked plant and animal enhancement. That was why he couldn’t enhance the Poisonous Fly Amanita when he acquired it, as that poisonous mushroom belongs to the Fungi Kingdom.
There were also some microalgae, like spirulina and nostoc, which belong to the Prokaryotic Realm. If Ren Yuanyang had been able to find these microalgae before, he wouldn’t have been able to enhance them either.
But now, things were different. All of these had been unlocked!
Finally, the unlocked "de-enhancement" function allowed him to revert a system-enhanced organism back to its normal state.
After reviewing the system’s notifications, Ren Yuanyang felt a wave of emotion. Since becoming an Evolver, the Enhancement System seemed to have transformed into something entirely new. The current system was terrifyingly powerful; his own Mental Energy just hadn’t caught up yet.
’I’ll have to work hard to increase my Mental Energy from now on.’ Currently, Ren Yuanyang’s Mental Energy could only extend one meter outside his body.
A one-meter range was more than enough to enhance that rabbit and the piglets!
Ren Yuanyang got up and walked toward the pigpen. Taking feed supply and manpower into consideration, he enhanced the piglets to a growth rate where they would mature in five days and be able to reproduce in a week.
As for the rabbits, he enhanced them to mature in three days with a two-day reproductive cycle.
There was also a kiwifruit seedling that hadn’t been properly enhanced before due to the enhancement limit. He re-enhanced it now. In two or three days, they would be able to eat kiwis!
After enhancing all of this, Ren Yuanyang felt his Mental Energy was almost completely depleted. Even so, he was still incredibly excited.
Just yesterday, he hadn’t been able to enhance the piglets in the base. Today, not only had he enhanced the two pigs, but he had also re-enhanced the two rabbits.
This feeling of his power doubling was just too awesome!
Most importantly, in a few more days, he would be able to eat pork and lard!
’Using lard to cook would make everything smell amazing!’
With these thoughts in mind, Ren Yuanyang smacked his lips and drifted off to sleep.
「A little after one in the morning.」
Lu Jiamei handed the night watch duty over to Qin Haonan.
"How are you feeling now?" Lu Jiamei asked with concern.
Qin Haonan paused for a moment, then replied with a smile, "Great. No discomfort at all, but no special gains either."
Lu Jiamei nodded slightly. "As long as there’s no discomfort, that’s good. I’ll go get some rest then."
Patrols around the base had already been handed over to the team led by Si Youqin. Lu Jiamei and Qin Haonan only needed to stand watch for the night.
There was only one requirement: someone had to stay awake. This made the night watch duty very easy. They just needed to stay in their bamboo huts and listen for any unusual sounds outside.
Time quickly passed. When it was five in the morning, Ren Yuanyang and the others gathered to practice the Five Animals Qigong. The first thing they all did was ask Qin Haonan how he was feeling.
