"I saw a lot of Chinese medicinal herb seeds on the list they sent!" Hua Lingfang said excitedly. "If you can enhance them all, I believe many ancient remedies will become far more potent than they originally were!"
So, the seed bank’s keeper had added in many types of medicinal herb seeds to reach the ninety-thousand total.
Ren Yuanyang had a sudden realization. So that was what Hua Lingfang was after—the medicinal herb seeds.
"I understand. We’ll start the trade in two days," Ren Yuanyang replied after a moment of thought.
"Understood! Thank you, Chief!" Hua Lingfang answered excitedly.
Ren Yuanyang had originally planned to delay for a few more days, but since Hua Lingfang needed the seeds, he decided to go ahead with the trade in two days.
Trading this early would significantly reduce their lead, but it would also motivate him to not slack off. The people behind them were closing in fast.
Back at Peach Blossom Base, everyone was talking about the Evolution Potion.
The people on the yacht had learned during lunch that Si Youqin and the other two had successfully become Evolvers without any side effects.
They were still discussing it while working that afternoon.
"I’m so jealous of Sister Qin and the others. Just like that, they’re Evolvers!"
"Sigh... We can only blame ourselves. We overthought it and missed our chance."
"Yeah, the Chief is so good to us. He would never gamble with our lives! I should have signed up without hesitating!"
"I wonder if we’ll get another chance to become Evolvers."
"I’m sure there will be. Becoming Evolvers would let us help the base develop even more!"
"I’m just worried the Chief saw our hesitation and won’t trust us anymore."
"Sigh... Let’s just focus on working hard for now. Maybe we can slowly change the Chief’s impression of us."
"From now on, I’ll do whatever the Chief says, no questions asked!"
"Me too!"
Spurred on by their discussion, they worked with even more vigor.
That evening, Ren Yuanyang and the others were having dinner in the container.
"Chief, now that our Evolution Potion is a success, are we going to trade with the Aircraft Carrier Base again?" Qin Haonan asked curiously.
Ren Yuanyang nodded and shot him a look. "What? You’ve only been here a few days and you’re already itching to go out and have fun?"
Qin Haonan immediately replied with self-righteous indignation, "I don’t go out to ’have fun’! Every time I’ve gone out, it’s been for the base’s trade business!"
"Alright, alright, I know you’ve worked hard for the cause," Ren Yuanyang said. "The tentative plan is to trade with the Aircraft Carrier Base in two days."
"How many Evolution Potions are we planning to sell them this time?" Lu Jiamei asked, just as curious.
"2,400 vials," Ren Yuanyang replied.
"2,400? Isn’t that a little too many?" Lu Jiamei paused, her brow furrowing slightly.
"Yeah, Chief. 2,400 Evolution Potions means 2,400 more Evolvers for them. Won’t that put us in danger?" Qin Haonan asked, also worried.
Ren Yuanyang smiled faintly and reminded them, "We’re competitors with the Aircraft Carrier Base, not enemies. And to take a step back, even if they did want to swallow us whole, let’s not forget they don’t even know where our base is. Even if they found out, do you really think they would attack us?"
Hearing Ren Yuanyang’s words, they fell into contemplative silence.
From the Aircraft Carrier Base’s perspective, they didn’t know how many people or Evolvers Peach Blossom Base had. They wouldn’t attack without a clear picture of their enemy’s strength.
Besides, the only reason they’d attack Peach Blossom Base would be for the raw materials for the Evolution Potion. They would have to consider whether they could even get their hands on those materials after a successful invasion.
What if the people of Peach Blossom Base escaped with the materials? Who would they buy Evolution Potions from then?
They might be able to conquer Peach Blossom Base, but who could guarantee they’d capture all the people and resources?
Peaceful coexistence was mutually beneficial for both the Aircraft Carrier Base and Peach Blossom Base, so the chance of a conflict between them was extremely low.
The two bases were currently in a state of friendly competition. Ren Yuanyang just wanted to maintain their advantage in top-tier combat strength.
Once they thought it through, Lu Jiamei and Qin Haonan relaxed a little.
"Besides, even if they buy 2,400 Evolution Potions, they wouldn’t dare use them all at once," Hua Lingfang couldn’t resist pointing out.
Qin Haonan paused, then nodded in deep agreement. "You’re right. Even though our relationship is pretty good right now, they’re definitely just as guarded as we are."
Lu Jiamei then asked curiously, "So, how many types of plant seeds are they offering for these Evolution Potions?"
"At least a thousand types, I bet," Qin Haonan guessed.
In his eyes, plant seeds were exceptionally important to Peach Blossom Base, far more valuable than the Evolution Potions.
Ren Yuanyang smiled faintly and uttered a number: "Ninety thousand."
"What?!" Qin Haonan exclaimed in shock. "How could they possibly have that many? Ninety thousand types of plant seeds for just 2,400 potions?"
"Sometimes they’re just posturing. A lot of what they say isn’t necessarily true," Ren Yuanyang replied. "It’s highly likely the number of seed types they have is far more than just ninety thousand."
"They have that many types of plant seeds?" Qin Haonan was still in disbelief.
"They definitely do," Ren Yuanyang confirmed with a nod.
"Alright, I guess I have a narrow view of things," Qin Haonan lamented. "But, Chief, you’re ruthless! They’re offering so many types of seeds, and you’re only giving them 2,400 potions in return!"
Ren Yuanyang rolled his eyes. "Weren’t you just complaining that I was giving them too many Evolution Potions? Why the sudden change of heart?"
"I just didn’t think they could actually come up with that many types of seeds!" Qin Haonan said, throwing his hands up in a shrug.
