Some people started livestreams directly on the regional channel.
Everyone was already very curious about Peach Blossom Base, so when someone started a livestream tour, it naturally attracted a large number of survivors.
"The Banyan Forest is just the framework of Peach Blossom Base. Its foundation is the evolved Duckweed!"
"Don’t underestimate those patches of Duckweed! Their buoyancy can support a person running and jumping, and I even saw wooden houses built right on top of them!"
Since they were about to leave, they only had time to hastily film some of the Duckweed within the forest.
The survivors watching the livestream immediately started discussing it.
"What? The Duckweed can support a person standing on it? You’ve got to be kidding! We’re not mosquitoes!"
"If you’re going to livestream, fine, but don’t just make things up to get views!"
"I’m not making things up! If you have time, come see for yourselves. And for anyone who does visit, don’t forget to livestream it!"
"It’s probably true. They aren’t making any money from the livestream, so what’s the point of getting our attention?"
"If that’s true, then the Banyan Forest combined with that incredibly buoyant Duckweed... isn’t that basically a continent?"
"No wonder Xi’an Base wanted to attack Peach Blossom Base! So they were after the Banyan Forest and the Duckweed!"
"So that’s why! By the way, can we go and settle down in Peach Blossom Base?"
"You’d have to ask the leader of Peach Blossom Base. @Taoyuan Yang, Chief, could you answer this question?"
Ren Yuanyang saw someone tag him on the regional channel. After a glance at their question, he replied, "For the time being, Peach Blossom Base is not accepting outsiders for settlement."
"That’s a real shame! Looks like we’re stuck drifting on the sea!"
"That’s a pretty brainless request to make! A base that good is obviously their foundation. No sane person would let outsiders move in!"
"You can’t just say that. The fact that Peach Blossom Base is open for tours means they aren’t worried about threats from other survivors. Or rather, they have enough confidence to defeat any enemy that comes their way! If that’s the case, it’s possible they might open up a few spots for settlement!"
"They may be powerful, but nobody goes looking for trouble. Dealing with outsiders settling in takes manpower and energy. If it were me, I definitely wouldn’t let anyone in!"
"There’s no need to argue about this, everyone. Look closely at what Chief Taoyuan Yang said. He said ’for the time being,’ which means there might be a real chance to settle there in the future!"
"Exactly. The timing probably isn’t right just yet."
While they were discussing, the second wave of visitors arrived at Peach Blossom Base.
Learning from the example of the first wave of visitors, they started their livestreams right away.
The other survivors could finally see Peach Blossom Base from a first-person perspective.
"Holy crap, this Duckweed is insane!"
"They’ve really built a lot of wooden houses in the Banyan Forest... wait, are those Westerners?"
"Peach Blossom Base has foreigners? Don’t tell me it was built by foreigners?"
"I told you all before! Taoyuan Yang is one of us, from Magpie Country! You just wouldn’t believe me!"
"People from Magpie Country have Asian features too. We’re seeing Westerners. What the hell does this have to do with you lot from Magpie Country?"
"People from Magpie Country are so disgusting. Blocked. Out of sight, out of mind!"
Just then, Xin Wan came to Ren Yuanyang’s office. "Chief," she suggested, "with so many people visiting, maybe we could set up a market? We could sell some fruit, food, and various snacks. It would help stimulate the base’s economy!"
Ren Yuanyang frowned slightly. "What would they use for currency? If we use metal resources for bartering, it’ll be too much of a hassle to manage."
Xin Wan replied with a smile, "It’s the perfect opportunity to introduce the Peach Blossom Coin!"
Ren Yuanyang paused for a moment, then his face lit up in realization. "Excellent idea! Go ahead and do it your way."
"Yes, Chief!" Xin Wan replied, then turned and left.
DRING DRING~
Ren Yuanyang’s phone rang. It was a video call from Ji Yizhi.
Ren Yuanyang answered immediately. "Captain Ji, what’s up?"
Ji Yizhi nodded slightly. "Were Minister Xin’s parents researchers abroad?"
Ren Yuanyang paused, then replied, "I seem to recall her mentioning that. I believe so, yes."
"We received a talent trade proposal from the Iron Wing Fleet," Ji Yizhi explained. "On the list of personnel they’re offering, there’s an engineer named Xin Yu. While reviewing his file, I noticed a family member with the same name as Minister Xin, so I thought I should ask."
"Send me his file," Ren Yuanyang continued. "Is his wife on the list for this talent trade as well?"
"Yes," Ji Yizhi nodded. "The Iron Wing Fleet has always been on good terms with us. When we proposed the talent trade, they announced it throughout their base immediately. Naturally, some of the Dragon Country People there chose to come back."
"Okay, send all their files over," Ren Yuanyang said.
"Yes, Master!"
A moment later, the files for two middle-aged individuals arrived.
"Xin Yu, Senior Engineer, Iron Wing Aerospace Agency. Research field: anti-gravity technology..."
"Guo Yao, Senior Engineer, Iron Wing Aerospace Agency..."
Ren Yuanyang put his phone away, stepped out of his office, and walked over to Xin Wan’s desk.
Sensing someone approach, Xin Wan looked up. When she saw it was Ren Yuanyang, she stood and asked, "Chief, do you need something?"
"Before the flood, did your parents work for the Iron Wing Aerospace Agency?" Ren Yuanyang asked directly.
Xin Wan froze for a second, then nodded immediately, her voice filled with excitement. "Chief, do you have news about my parents?"
Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly and handed her his phone. The screen displayed the information for Xin Yu and Guo Yao.
Xin Wan began to tremble. "Yes, that’s them! That’s my mom and dad! Where are they?"
Seeing Xin Wan’s desperate expression, Ren Yuanyang said, "Take a few days off. Go bring them back yourself. This is the personnel information sent over by the Iron Wing Fleet as part of Dragon Base’s talent trade. Contact Captain Ji first and see what the Iron Wing Fleet’s arrangements are for the trade."
"Okay, thank you, Chief!" Xin Wan immediately contacted Ji Yizhi.
"Captain Ji, when will the trade between Dragon Base and the Iron Wing Fleet take place?"
Ji Yizhi could read the anxiety between the lines of Xin Wan’s message. He naturally understood that Xin Yu and the other person must be her parents.
"The personnel review is complete," Ji Yizhi replied. "We should be departing for the Iron Wing Fleet shortly to finalize the trade."
"Wait for me! I’m on my way. I’ll go with you to make the trade!" Xin Wan replied, then immediately dashed out of the office.
At the doorway, she stopped, turned back to Ren Yuanyang, and bowed. "Thank you, Chief! I’ll be back as soon as I can!"
Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. "Go on. And take some high-level Evolution Potions with you."
"Yes, thank you, Chief!" Xin Wan replied before continuing to run out.
Finding family five months after the flood was an incredible stroke of both luck and happiness.
Xin Wan collected five of the best Evolution Potions from Hua Lingfang—the kind that were completely painless and allowed for a full evolution within twelve hours.
Then she immediately piloted a speedboat toward Dragon Base.
Xin Wan nearly broke the throttle lever, but it still didn’t feel fast enough.
An hour later, she rendezvoused with Ji Yizhi, and they immediately set off for the Iron Wing Fleet.
The Iron Wing Fleet wasn’t far from Dragon Base, only six hundred kilometers away.
The Iron Wing Fleet had relocated closer to Dragon Base because the base had all sorts of supplies for sale, and the proximity made purchasing them more convenient.
The Dragon Base Fleet’s cruising speed was 120 kilometers per hour, meaning it would only take five hours to reach the Iron Wing Fleet.
This was already incredibly fast, but to Xin Wan, it still felt far too slow.
Seeing how anxious Xin Wan was, Ji Yizhi spoke up. "Minister Xin, there’s no need to be so worried. Since they’re willing to trade personnel with us, they will certainly be taking good care of them."
Xin Wan nodded. "I know, but I can’t help it."
"I understand," Ji Yizhi replied. "This is our fleet’s top speed. You’ve already waited five months; you can hang on for another five hours."
"Yes..." Xin Wan nodded. "I just wonder how my parents have been getting by these past five months."
"Your parents are both high-level talents," Ji Yizhi said reassuringly. "The Iron Wing Fleet wouldn’t have treated them poorly."
Xin Wan stared in the direction the fleet was traveling, her face etched with worry.
