"Is this for real? Are you sure it’s not edited?"
"They’re using the livestream function of that unknown software. No one can hack it, so it’s not fake!"
"So this is what Captain Wang meant by a short growth cycle! This is surreal!"
"With crops like these, food shortages will never be a problem!"
"Yeah, too bad I’m not at the Aircraft Carrier Base!"
"No wonder the Aircraft Carrier Base dared to trade food for metal. Turns out they have more than enough!"
"Say no more. I don’t care how far it is, I’m heading for the Aircraft Carrier Base!"
The fleets and bases of other nations were also incredibly envious when they saw the Aircraft Carrier Base’s ridiculously effective new crops.
"Looks like we’ll have to buy food from the Aircraft Carrier Base from now on!"
"Yeah, and we’d better collect more metal. Otherwise, we’ll have nothing to trade with them!"
"What if we try raiding the Aircraft Carrier Base’s convoys? If we can snatch the seeds for those crops, we could grow them ourselves!"
"Exactly! We need to plan this carefully. It’d be best to pull in some allies, like the Xi’an Base or other fleets from the Sea Eagle Country!"
"That’s definitely worth considering! We might even be able to take down the Aircraft Carrier Base itself!"
Similar conversations were taking place simultaneously across different fleets.
Since they wanted to form an alliance, they needed a faction to take the lead. The smaller fleets naturally and unanimously turned to the Xi’an Base.
"Sir, many fleets have contacted us privately. They want us to organize a joint operation to raid or attack the Aircraft Carrier Base!" the staff officer immediately reported to Bao Mu.
Bao Mu wasn’t surprised in the least. He smiled faintly. "Reply to them. Tell them we can take the lead, but they must follow our arrangements."
The staff officer frowned slightly. "Sir, there’s no need for us to stick our necks out like this! Besides, we’re preparing to attack the Peach Blossom Base. We don’t have the manpower to spare for organizing them right now."
"Someone needs to keep the Aircraft Carrier Base’s other two carriers occupied. If all three carriers converge near the Peach Blossom Base, it will be very difficult for us to take it," Bao Mu explained. "And we don’t need to be too careful about keeping this alliance secret. In fact, it’s best if the news leaks out and reaches the Aircraft Carrier Base."
The staff officer’s eyes lit up. "Sir, I understand! I know what to do now!"
As long as the news of their alliance leaked out, the two carriers at the Aircraft Carrier Base wouldn’t dare to move rashly.
The other fleets only knew that the Aircraft Carrier Base possessed seeds for fast-growing, high-yield crops. What they didn’t know was that the seeds didn’t belong to the Aircraft Carrier Base in the first place.
Bao Mu had already deduced that the seeds most likely came from the Peach Blossom Base. Therefore, his current objective was crystal clear: take the Peach Blossom Base!
The staff officer relayed Bao Mu’s message to the other fleets. Some, unwilling to submit to the Xi’an Base’s arrangements, refused to cooperate.
However, most of the fleets still wanted a piece of the pie. After weighing the pros and cons, they decided to follow the Xi’an Base’s lead.
This was especially true for the nations that were already vassals of the Sea Eagle Country. They immediately latched onto the Xi’an Base.
The staff officer gathered everyone into a group chat. Bao Mu began, "Since we’ve all chosen to form an alliance, you must follow orders. Otherwise, the Aircraft Carrier Base will most likely pick us off one by one!"
"Don’t worry, Sir. Since we’ve agreed, we will absolutely follow your command!" the other fleet captains chimed in.
"Good. Now, everyone can share their opinions on what our next move should be," Bao Mu continued.
"It’s simple! We just group up and raid the Aircraft Carrier Base’s trade convoys!"
"That’s right. That way we can get the crop seeds without having to face the carriers at the Aircraft Carrier Base!"
Seeing the captains’ messages, Bao Mu curled his lip. "Are you sure the food on those trade convoys consists of these fast-growing, high-yield crop seeds?"
"Of course. They’ve already started planting them, and they can harvest in two days. So most of the food in their base is from these crops."
"Exactly. And even if the trade convoys don’t have them yet, we can just wait a while. Once they’ve used up their original food supply, everything they trade will be these fast-growing, high-yield seeds, right?"
Bao Mu shook his head. "Based on all available intelligence, the traits of the Aircraft Carrier Base’s crops are almost certainly not heritable! In other words, even if we raid the trade convoys for that food and plant it as seed, we won’t be able to grow fast-growing, high-yield crops!"
Seeing his message, all the captains were stunned.
"That... does make sense! If the fast-growing, high-yield traits were heritable, the Aircraft Carrier Base probably wouldn’t be selling the grain externally!"
"Then what do we do? Does this mean we’d only be able to steal some ordinary food?"
Bao Mu smiled faintly. "Exactly. Which is why we cannot target the Aircraft Carrier Base’s trade convoys!"
"Are you saying we should attack the Aircraft Carrier Base directly? They have two aircraft carriers in their base! Their combat strength is immense!"
"So what if their combat strength is immense? They still only have two carriers! In our group, we have the Lvzhi Fleet and the Magpie Fleet. The Lvzhi Fleet has three carriers, the Magpie Fleet has one, and if you add the one from our Xi’an Base, that’s five carriers in total. Five against two shouldn’t be a problem!" Bao Mu replied.
